Choice Home Warranty is a scam company. I filled a claimed for my refrigerator side by side 2 doors compressor is bad. Choice Home Warranty is not fixing it or replacing it. Though, I have Warranty with them and I have paid my service fee. Upto now, no refrigerator working in my house and foods is going bad in the refrigerator. Shame on Choice home Warranty. Now, I'm considering filing a complaint or lawsuit against Choice home Warranty.

Our very first time to call for repair and it was denied. Hot water heater leaking. Paid for an inspection and inspectors report said "water heater un-repairable". Next day notified by company that they would not replace or repair as their warranty excludes hot water tank itself. Now I ask you: how is it that the hot water tank itself is not covered when all connections are attached to the tank itself? This company is a scam. We were warned by friends not to use but unfortunately took a chance. STAY AWAY - they'll cheat you at every turn!

If I could do negative stars I would. This is the worst company I have ever come across. Please do not use this company. Everytime you call them out they deny the claim and refuse to pay for anything most of the time stating it isn't normal wear and tear. I had one of their technicians tell me that they will deny everything and to save my money instead of paying it to them. They are Crooks!

Dang I wished I saw these reviews b4 purchasing plan. In the heat of May ac went out, I called to make claim which was fulfilled a day later by a contractor who couldn’t come until 2 days later. Here’s the good part on day contractor was to come he said he no longer contract with choice because they don’t pay for services. So now in this 90+ degree weather I still have to wait til they find someone and looking at veviews I may be SOL

I filed a claim. After several days I called them to get the status. They told me they were trying to find a technician. I called and asked them who they were calling so I could help and they wouldn't tell me who they were contracted with. I asked to speak with a supervisor on three different occasions and they said they would call me back as they were busy. I never received a call back. I just had to schedule my own technician for which they would not pay. Canceled policy and asked for a refund and they refused.

I had a heater go out 2 moths ago they wouldn't replace gave me 250,00 cost me 1650 to replace then just this week my AC went out they would only replace the compressor giving me 700. When both units were 30 yrs old said they would upgrade system cost me 2300 for that checked with American Home warranty both would have been replaced. Choice finds a way not to replace things . I will not use them again it's false advertising .

People listen to me don’t ever use this company they are scammers.worst customer service/worst company.our AC unit was not running and 90 degrees inside the house we called them and took 4 days to send technician and later sent email that they would not cover it.then later said they will give us 200 dollars for unit that cost about 1500 dollars. Do Not Use this company.they are crooks. We are going to join the class action lawsuit

Terrible technician who fixed nothing and then didn't return phone calls and finally when a new appointment was made never showed up - all over 4 weeks. Given incorrect information and had to speak to no less than 9 different people. Found out there were more exclusions than coverage. Told we would be reimbursed by our own plumber and then told we would only be reimbursed what they would pay, not what we paid. Finally cancelled the policy and cut our losses. You get what you pay for and with this company you get nothing for your money. RUN A MILE!!!

Choice Home Warranty Sucks! The Exclusions covers nothing. Quick example: Garage Doors do NOT cover the doors, garage door openers, or any parts. That's it. Nothing is covered, as with all systems. This is a TOTAL rip-off. We pay a minimum of $70 per month. I have had only 1 positive occurrence with this company, otherwise it’s always excuse after excuse after excuse if why you can’t come through to fix or replace a broken product in my home. You sent some pure thieves to work on the A/C and got no results. Now you say you’re going to replace my stove top with a measly $300. After I declined, another $100 was added really. You cannot replace a stove top with $400.00 So what is your purpose? What is your point?

Creating a claim was easy. An appointment was scheduled for 5/21/19. The technician did not show up. Called Choice Home Warranty to let them know I did not want to use Comfort Central again. They apologized and said someone would be out the next day. After the technician arrived, my pool/spa was not working properly. The spa was no longer functioning.

These guys have an excuse not to cover everything we've claimed. The pool pump is only covered up to a certain dollar amount, the water heater isn't covered because it's too big and considered "commercial", the leak in the wall might be electrical and not actually water damage (It was water damage. We had a professional of our own come out and cut the wall open), the air conditioner isn't covered because it's too new to have gone out from normal wear and tear (even though the technician they sent said it was normal wear and tear and we did nothing wrong). These guys are terrible.

Very disappointed with my first experience. My thermostat was replaced with the cheapest model on the market, the size was smaller and didn’t cover the holes from previous one! The temperature isn’t holding anyway! I did not expect downgraded replacement. The problem isn’t fixed! On top of it 75$ payment was requested in cash , which isn’t required on the policy. After all , we went through multiple managers objecting such service and did not get anywhere! That’s not what I expected and paid for.

There is no way I can give them 0 or negative start. I would have given them if I had this option. They are the worst home warranty company I have ever seen. I had probably 5 claims with them out of which none of them got covered. They take months to find the technician. They say the appointment has been scheduled with the technician, I wait for the technician to show up but they won't because the appointment was never scheduled. This happened for 6 times. They are theif. If you want to waste good 500 bucks a year then take a contract with them.

I purchased the policy when I bought my house. The furnace went out when temp was below zero. File claim, they never responded. Stated unable to find a contactor to respond. This was 4 days and I had to keep calling. Rejected claim. Reason the furance was not maintained. Service Center was 7 blocks from me and originally sold and installed my furance slso does work with Choice. They hsd nrver received a call. 1 star is is to much 0 if it was an options.

Thoroughly disgusted with CHW. Water heater needed replaced. The plumbing company they contracted wanted $700 in "code violation" upgrades (I live in the county, not city, no codes apply here) or they wouldn't install. CHW stood with their plumber, but said I could try to find someone else to do it. CHW's offer for payment is only $435, which wouldn't cover the cost of the cheapest water heater even they could point me to, much less the cost of a plumber to put it in. Never again with this company. Nope.

In fact, i started calling the electricians and they refused to do business with this warranty company due to payment issues. Not surprised. Scam artists! Filed 2 claims ...one was a plumbing issue that still remains. No one has yet contacted me on fixing the issue. The other claim was for my AC which is fixed but now the heat is not working. Not satisfied with the contractors you all are sending out. Seems like they avoid fixing the issue and I end up paying a service fee with no solution. Not satisfied and I’m considering switching over to another company for my home warranty

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. Being very unhappy with quality of service provided and the length of time to complete repairs I decided to cancel the remaining two years of the contract. Not only did they keep the first year's payment and the fee per service of $45 but they charged me for every repair that they made. The bottom line ..they refunded $487 of a contract for $1,550 and $298 on my second contract at $1,050. Each contract was based on three years. Total scam and ripoff

It was the worst experience ever, serviceman turned in wrong type of refrigerator. Then low replacement cost. Had to go back and forth for days while still without refrigerator. When all is said done I have to wait 30 days to receive the replacement cost. Still living out of a cooler. This company has very poor customer service.

Because they try not to fix anything and look for excuses to not warranty things. Also takes them forever to get a repair mam to do a good job. They come in and talk down on home choice and look shady as heck. The mam who fixed my washer was awesome and so where the heating and air people. But to get there I had to pay 60.00 several times before a right repair person fixed it. So it's pay 60.00 deductible until it gets fixed is ridiculous.

I was very disappointed with each of my 2 service requests. My dryer was not working properly, they determine it was because there was too much lint and refused to fix it. Similar situation with my refrigerator, too much dust. I decided to cancel but only got 1/4 of what I paid. I reviewed my product manuals and neither suggested any type of preventive maintenance.

The customer service is horrible. You get talked over and shifted from one person to another. If you cancel the service , there is no refund for what you have already paid. I called to revise the roof coverage and never got to that point. It was sad for a customer to be treated like that from company employees. Never do business with this company. If the service they provide is anything like the customer service it is definitely not worth the price or the time .

I purchased home warranty last May, 13 month contract. I made my first claim Sunday when my water heater started to leak. Subcontracted plumbing technician came out and confirmed it was leaking and needed to be replaced. The claim was denied because they do not cover the tank. You know, the part that holds the water, in the water heater. Could not tell me the part of the water heater that was actually covered, yet listed WATER HEATER as an appliance that was covered. Cancelled my policy effective immediately. Don’t want to waste anymore time with company that misrepresents it’s coverage.

I was very disappointed in a recent claim on an appliance that broke. Choice Home Warranty refused to fix it and offered a fraction of it's value to replace it. Actually the monetary amount offered would not purchase a bottom of the line new appliance. My case manager offered little assistance an could only quote terms and conditions of my policy. Choice Home Warranty advertises that they will cover such appliances but beware of what "covers" means. I'll read the fine print next time.

Truth about Choice Home Warranty: They lie to customers and their warranty only covers about 1/2 of the repair cost if they cover it. That's after you paid the deductacble of $100. Contractors: are regularly cheated out of 15% of the repair bill submitted due to schemes developed by CHW to thwart payment responsibility. And not getting paid at all is fairly common also.

Extremely slow in responding and getting a contractor on the job. Had a dryer issue that took 5 months to fix. Assigning a contractor, ordering parts, receiving the wrong parts, then not getting all the parts needed. Choice washes their hands of the problem once they "assign" a contractor. Useless to contact them. They just refer you back to the contractor. Then the contractor charges for the service. The garage door option doesn't cover anything except the motor. Run away from this company if you encounter them. They don't honor the warranty for any expensive repairs. They will not return any phone calls during escalation process. I am a licensed real estate agent and have received complaints from many clients. Also, experienced it first hand. They will also take the $75 deductible and then deny you the service using generic excuses like lack of proper maintenance.

After putting a claim to repair HVAC, I had to wait 2 days in extremely hot weather for a technician to show up with no working AC just to get a diagnosis. The technician took another 3 days to submit the diagnostics to the company. After a week I received a denial of the claim stating that the reason for my unit not to be working is a maintenance issue; therefore not covered by the warranty. I am a general contractor, and I can definitely tell you it is not a maintenance issue. They refused to cover it. Complete SCAM. Do not buy this warranty.

I had a 2-yr policy and initially, was satisfied. However, sometime during that time, the company quit replacing appliances, and now just send money for replacement, (they say). The amount they stated as averagement replacement for a washing machine was #299.99, which is totally inadequate. After several appeals to CHW, it was stated that they only replace WHOLESALE prices. Their highest offer was $400.00 (still not enough). As a consumer, I do not intend to renew.

I gave them a 1 and that was too much. I felt I was very mislead from my initial conversation when signing up for this warranty. Now time to use it, NOTHING is really covered! I wish i could have recorded the sign up conversation and all the YES we cover that. My purpose was to have coverage for damage items (not cosmetic damage) but they only cover a very minimum of hardware items. Really not worth it. Look at all the money you spend plus pay your service fee to be told NOT COVERED. I will make sure to contact the BBB and report this scam.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The contractor who came out said we need a new water heater. He said he was going to make sure that happened because of how bad ours was. We moved into a house that had been vacant for almost a year. It took a month for us to find out that they were going to do nothing about it because WE (not the previous home owner) didn’t take care of it. So I basically paid $65 to find out Choice Warrenty is useless. Don’t waste your time or money.

Choice home warranty is a ridiculous company. They do not want to cover what the warranty covers . I would give a zero star but then it would look like I did not review . Sad company. Stay away and choose another company. So if your Real state agent or the home seller is choosing this company . Tell them no deal. Pick another company I wonder if this company is ran by Democrats ?
