Horrible. Still have no air conditioning and it’s going on three weeks. Did I mention I live in Austin Texas and it’s JULY!! Technician stood us up because he wasn’t getting paid enough, I had to call choice to tell them to pay him a more. He finally comes out and choice ordered the wrong part because it was the cheaper option and only half the motor. So here I sit, dripping with sweat because choice is the devil!!!

Just terrible. I bought 2 three year policies with these guys. My AC unit started acting up. A technician came out and charged it with coolant and charged me $900. A couple months later, the unit developed a leak. Choice Home Warranty claimed they do not cover this, despite the fact I specific bought these policies to cover my AC unit. After having to move out of our house waiting to see if CHW would cover the repairs, and after hearing nothing from them, I have just cancelled my 2 policies and will pay to have this done myself. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I have 3 homes under warranty with Choice - each with a 3 year contract. I am beginning to think that they actually want customers to try to cancel their contracts. our most recent issue is our central air conditioner - we submitted a claim on Sunday - today - 3 days later they still have not scheduled an appt. I have sent numerous emails and finally received a call - where they only told me "they are working on it"..... still no schedule.

Seems like a scam. Was denied coverage on an AC unit, claiming it was normal wear and tear. Electrical issue caused the compressor to short out, arcing to a coolant line, and melting our disconnect. Far from "normal", and this company was happy to leave it in this dangerous state, despite the technician (which they sent out) saying that it needed to be fixed asap. Now our "case manager" won't answer the phone nor return calls...for the past 6 weeks. I think this company is likely some kind of scam. If you're looking for a warranty, look elsewhere.

Therefore, I won't be using the home warranty again since I am worried about the technitions they get services through.

Do not use Choice! They have A LOT of exclusions! When we purchased the policy we were told our geothermal unit was covered. WRONG! Thank God I found out before we needed it. Our washer broke and they denied the claim due to “exclusions” so I started reviewing the exclusions closely. Low and behold geothermal unit is excluded. I called to cancel and they charged me a $50 admin fee even though they misinformed me about their service PLUS they charged a full month of coverage because they don’t pro-rate months. Bonus, you have to wait 10-15 business days for your refund.

Wish there was a zero rating. They will take your premium and then find any small excuse not to cover you. They advertised, "Hey, you, might need to replace your A/C system someday if it breaks," and mine did. Because there was condensation related to the A/C breakdown, they classified it as "water leak," so they wouldn't have to cover it. This is a scam, don't fall for it. You're better off saving what you would pay for the premium and investing in your own home protection account. The contractors I've had at the home under this warranty say the same.

This company lies. They tell you lies to get you to trust in them to be there when things break. They say they will be there for you. We had bot our AC units break in one year due to leaks, and they refused both. They also wouldn't replace a thermostat. They are swindlers. Go pay for a better company that will actually be there for you when you need them.

I have a microwave and oven combo and the oven has some problem. Choice is offering me less than 30% of the current price of the unit to replace. In comparison, I had American Home Shield earlier and they replaced my furnace when there was a problem. I regret moving to Choice and having referred numerous friends and family to Choice. Really feel betrayed and bad for everyone. Be careful before you buy Choice warranty.

I signed a 3 year contract with Choice Home Warranty and not once have they covered anything submitted. The denied a water heater due to it not being maintained. They denied AC fix due to faulty wiring (done by a previous tech they sent out). They told me I would need to contact the vendor directly to work the issue out. I would research other companies, my recommendation is to pass on this Company.

This company is a scam. They tell you coverage is comprehensive, but if you read the fine print, nothing is covered. I purchased the warranty specifically for my AC, and specifically asked if the age of the system mattered because my system was old. When it went out due to normal wear and tear, it wasn’t covered because the system had rust on it. 2 separate AC contractors confirmed that the rust had no affect on the system going out, yet they still wouldn’t cover it. Save your money, I wouldn’t recommend Choice home warranty to anyone.

We started having a leak from a bathroom upstairs to a bathroom downstairs so we called CHW and filed a claim. Once the technician came out they reported the issues and cost and choice denied the claim and said it was a pre-existing issue. We have lived in this house for just over 3 years and never had leaking issues. They only want your money and don’t want to pay for anything you file a claim for if it will cost a good chunk of change. Definitely a huge waste of money.

Not worth getting it . It takes a while for them to find someone. One technician actually came and said that he can't do the job for $60 and left. A second one came and ended up causing more damage than good. Just today, a scheduled service technician I called, told me flat out that he's not coming at all. They were also supposed to reimburse me for a service call that I ended up paying fully - had to send the request 3x and that was 2 years ago and still $0. I'm not renewing because it's a waste of money.

Just the worst. I’ve had other warranty companies but no one as bad as these folks. I’m beginning to believe their policy is deny first, and hope you go away. My policy clearly states ductwork is covered but they denied because of rust and corrosion? In my attic are you kidding. Our Hvac system went out on us. Two weeks later technician came out said we had we had big leak (freon). Also did a leak search ,found the leak. Said we needed a evaporator coil. Technician contacted warrenty company claim denied. Said it was pre existing condition. The equipment stop working two weeks ago and because of something out of your control your claim is denied. I think I'm wasting money here.

Please do not purchase Choice Home Warranty. Their customer service and technicians are a joke. I was more than a month without my washer and dryer. They approved and then denied both claims and that began a cycle of calls and messaging by myself just trying to get clarity and a resolution. I finally bought another set. They do not replace anything only offer a payout that in no way will afford a replacement of anything. Their resolution department in no even tries to resolve any issues. You are better off checking out another warranty service provider.

We almost made a mistake by giving them 20 plus properties . Gave them 2 to try out and on first claim we go through there online system which is looking for a reason to deny . Call in for a clam and be ready for a 30 minute hold. The call back function wont even call you back . Don't believe sales pitch about ratings . Their offer was about half of what a similar refrigerator would cost. Additionally, I will not get the any money for replacement for up to 30 days. My ac unit is leaking gas from the evaporator coil. They claim to cover that in the warranty. But when I submitted the claim to them they denied the claim and said that the coil will not be covered due to "rust and corrosion". The ac technician diagnosed and reported that he does not see any signs of rust and or corrosion. I really regret getting the warranty plan from them because of false advertisement. What a waste of money, steer clear from CHOICE warranty company.

We switched to choice home warranty. So far we have had 3 claims and they have covered nothing. First they don’t cover ice makers, next they did not cover the a/c blower fan because they said it was caused from a rusty bolt, third claim they didn’t cover Freon to go back into our a/c. We have 4 houses with them and will be cancelling. Trust me... don’t waste your money!

They have the worst service! We had a water heater go out with water all over our floor on a Sunday. By Monday afternoon they still did not have a technician and told us we could buy one and be reimbursed. We did that and then they tell us that we had to contact their technician first to be reimbursed. All we get is the run around but no payment. They continue to come up with more items we must do before getting reimbursed. DO NOT USE THIS WARRANTY COMPANY!!! I am sure there are better warranty companies out there, but Choice Home Warranty is not one of them.

Customer service is not open 24 hours a day as you state in your "good" ledger, which is a bad reflection on this review site. Also after agreeing to a monthly fee, I never received any warranty information in the mail to verify the agreement. I will be cancelling but it will require a phone call during my business hours to confirm since availability is NOT 24 hours a day as advertised by your site.

If you make a claim by phone be very careful what you tell them as their goal seems to be to deny claims. The best bet is to contact them by webpage and give as little info as possible. Customer service is useless, I was transferred six times trying to get a simple response, you get the feeling they're playing you in hopes you hang up. P.S. I live in a rental property covered by this warranty, the AC compressor unit has been bandaided a number of times already and they apparently refuse to replace the unit until it’s totally inoperable. I am a heart patient as is my partner if this continues and we end up in August with No AC this will be a major problem. I would never do business with Choice on my own and will be posting the same throughout Social Media. Bad Customer Service and Worse Customer Experience.

The Service warranty came with home purchase. I received my contract in the mail ,but when i tried to use it, I was told that it was a realtors contract, and the booklet I received was not what they would go by. So bait and switch? nothings covered? I tried to speak with agents... would not take my calls, would not respond to emails. The cooling company even resubmitted.. denied again . They pulled words out of the air, my house had settled? A brick house? really they are not a nice company would not use them again.

This company has never covered a single thing that went wrong in our brand new house. The first day we moved in, the garbage disposal did not work. They wouldn't cover it. Our Air Conditioner stopped cooling a few months later. They wouldn't cover it. The contract we were given states they are available 24/7. This is a lie, they most certainly are not. You might as well throw your money directly into the trash, as you would get the same result. Thoroughly dissatisfied.

Choice Home Warranty received their money in full but they do not provide services on the claims. I had two appointments that were set by them and no one showed either time or called to request a reschedule appointment. Basically you get no service after the sale and $375 just wasted on nothing. The representatives have no customer service skills to navigate you to a solution to take care of the customer. So please don’t sign up!

Please do not waste your money with this company. They are SCAMMERS!!! I had a problem with my dryer and a technician came out with his child. The first thing he asked was how will you be paying. It took him two days to report the problem and it’s been a week and the dryer is still not fixed or replaced. My husband and I had to purchase a new dryer on our own. Very disappointed and angry.

They will deny most of your claims. My AC unit coil was leaking and they said its due to the rust, but the rust does not come under normal wear and tear, so denied the claim. So what is wear and tear? Water heater started leaking from bottom. They denied claim saying the water heater container base or something is not covered. Please don't get this company insurance.

This company is a fraud. Do not purchase their product. The warranty is written to absolve them of any actual coverage responsibility. I have had three claims since I initiated the coverage and all were denied for very specious reasons. I received a small payment for each claim (about 10% of the estimated cost of repairs) only after appealing the initial denial and getting angry on the phone with their customer service representatives.

First time using the warranty . Operators genuinely unconcerned with my electric problem and couldn’t care that it took about 2 weeks for service even when told there was a chemotherapy patient living there with no a/c.
