We had a heat pump issue, clearly covered per contract. The technician hired by CHW stated they do not know how to work on heat pumps, but knew the unit needed to be replaced. CHW denied, then it worked, then it went out again& CHW told us to hire our own technician, we did so, they gave reasons why it needed to be replaced. Denied, told us to get another opinion (at our expense, of course), we did, denied. We asked for a review, denied BY THE SAME PERSIN WHO DENIED THE CLAIM IN THE FIRST PLACE! Poor customer service, rudeness, lack of integrity & honesty.

Claim to repair heating system was declined due to corrosion. I was in presence when technician was taking pictures and assessing the problem. There is no corrosion in my system. I called the technician and asked him if he had seen any rust or corrosion and he said he did not see any corrosion. I’m wondering if Choice is trying to not cover a claim...

If I could have rated Choice with negative 5 stars I would have. Had simple plumbing issue. Instead of snaking (which a plumber I hired on my own did and it rectified the problem), the agent they sent only offered ripping out a wall to access a pipe. Was in my home for about 5 minutes, did zero work but I had to pay the $65 service fee. Choice would not refund or offer any other option. They are definitely not customer centric. Save your money and frustration. Go elsewhere!

Bunch of Liars, sent a tech who didn't do anything , just looked for 20 min and when I came out he was like " What is going on " LOL, what you mean what's going on , you should know what's going on , not met telling you . Then the same company setup another dispatch because they admitted that it was a mistake and need to check . Finally the company they sent confirmed it's not Rust issue, they still sent me an email saying that they don't cover due to Rust issue. unbelievable

My Hot water heater went out on 2/14/21. A plumber responded on 2/15/21 and told me my Hot Water Heater was shot! He took numerous pictures! I received an email saying a replacement was approved on 2/16/21. I have heard nothing since and today is 2/18/21! Meanwhile 5 days no hot water in middle of winter and a baby in the house! I called PSE&G, they offered to replace at a very reasonable price in 1-2 days! This my first time with choice and my experience is not so good!

Avoid: They cover one claim then nothing after that. They sent an appliance service guy to handle a plumbing leak. He didn't know what he was doing. I had our building engineer look at it and he said it's a leak in the hot water line that runs under our bathroom tile. My policy says it covers leaks, but Choice Home Warranty said the leak isn't covered. No wonder they have law suits coming after them.

The last claim I had was great.i couldn't have gotten a better service person out here,but the claim before that one is still on lombo.the claim is from Bach in October of 2020.i did not want to give chw a bad review but you people have promised to call me but never have.my water heater did not rupture. The drain at the bottom of the water heater which is made of plastic broke.see pics.

We bought the policy because I became disabled and were worried about being able to afford repairs. We have been with Choice for 3 0r 4 years. I was in HVAC for 22 years before I became disabled. I called to have my unit repaired it is 7 years old and they refused because of rust. Now that tells me they wont repair one past 2 years old because after that they all have rust on the coil.

If you have a septic they will not cover repairs, beware. We moved in in the middle of October and started having issues by Feb 2nd. Pump went out and cost us $1250 for their provider and another $475 to get new electrical line run to it. CHW denied the claim stating it was outside the house. We purposely got the septic and pool coverage, too bad they don't honor their own contract.

I have paid into this for over a year but when my hot water heater sprung a leak and needed replacing, the tank isn't covered so I spent over $500 in monthly premiums but had to paid full price for new hot water heater. I would have been better off saving my money in emergency fund than paying for a home warranty that doesn't cover the things that are really costly. I would have that $500 to put toward the hot water heater. So no more home warranties for me! As I am typing this the new water heater is being installed. Cha-ching!

To me, I can't see any scenario where Choice Home Warranty would actually cover something that goes wrong. Not only did I have a technician out to check our dishwasher to find that it won't be covered, I had to pay the $65 service fee which I was told was free for our first call-out! I called and asked about it and they denied the mailing I received and their website was misleading in their wording about it as well. Very disappointed with them and will not be choosing to continue working with them.

The problem I have is being lied to. If I ask a question and they answer I expect them to stand by their word. This practice is not good for business, also Im not use to using a company that is a one man business, emergency always come up which is what happened in my case, this cause even more time to get my problem fixed. So far I’ve only had to use CHW once, I hope I’m not lied to again and it doesn’t take two weeks go the problem fixed.

I would recommend you using The technician from Parton Repair more often and take the first technician off your list. As for your service, I am glad it wasn’t an emergency.

I had to turn in a claim one day after my policy went into effect for my Mom, who is 92 years old, because her frig quit cooling and freezing. We have never had a problem with it, EVER! They said the compressor is going out and the fan and dryer. How were we supposed to know that??? They deny to fix it and won't approve the claim in order for me to buy another frig. Anyway, they denied the claim, so there you go. I'm writing this review because I have no CHOICE!!!

Insufficient money is provided when an appliance cannot be repaired and has to be replaced. Then when asked about canceling the service, I was told more dollars have been paid in claims then I paid in premiums so a prorated refund could not happen. Would not recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone. I will be changing warranty companies as soon as my policy expires!!

Be careful! The salesman will offer you the world, when in reality there is a lot of hidden fine print that they are not open and honest with. For example, they deemed my dishwasher too expensive to fix and cut me a check for $246. As I'm sure you are aware, this amount will not cover the cost of a new dishwasher by even half. I was told the contract says they maintain the right to offer cash at whatever dollar amount they want. Also, my water heater went out and there was a hidden fee of $300 for "removal and disposal" that needs to be covered by the policy owner.

so for a claim filed 4 months with no satisfaction, through no fault of mine I was there waiting patiently 25+ hours for all appointments set but not kept by the tech companies. The only reason I can assume is the roofing companies don't want to deal w/CHW. How is this anyway to keep a customer who keeps getting calls & emails to renew my contract!!!! Completely unhappy customer & I will be posting my reviews of CHW through all social media available to me.

I expected the company to pay for a replacement dishwasher. Instead they offered me $234 and all the dishwashers I see are $377+. By the time the store adds the delivery fee, removal fee (of the old unit), power plug and installation kit the total was $787.53. So the payment of only $254 by Choice Home Warranty was an insult. I will be switching back to American Home Shield. They don't screw you like that.

They are super smart in hiding all exits in their contract, you will never receive any repair. Their Appeal process is one of the worst among all companies. They Should be ranked # 1 in the Worst Company regarding Customer Care. No Credibility. I regret all the money and time that I have spent with Choice Home Warranty. The Only thing that I'm sure of is that I'm not renewing my Contract. Please be careful before our go into this trap.

Seller purchased a home warranty for the buyer, the buyer's dishwasher broke, after 5 months the current buyer called Choice Home warranty that the dishwasher is not working, so the current owner call for a repairman as instructed by Choice warranty the repairman came and diagnose the that the dishwasher is not repairable, therefore the Choice Home warranty offered the only fraction of replacement only $145 of the dishwasher, and nothing could be done about. Just warning stay away from Choice Home warranty. IT IS A TOTAL SCAM

2 years ago I had same exact problem with my A/C system and you repaired my system back to working order., now I have same exact problem and you rejected??? My Wife and I work in Real Estate fields and have recommended “Choice “ on many occasions. But if this is how you plan to take care customers there will be No more Referrals. Instead we will pick another company to do business with personally and for our real estate clients as well. Thank you!
