My AC unit is approximately 20years old according to the information on the units and the technician that came out. And it’s time for a replacement they usually last 10-15 years. They have denied the claim to replace the one that’s out saying it’s not due to normal wear and tear. Just anything to not cover the expenses. The woman at the customer service was super rude and unprofessional.Before you decide to go with this company Please check the BBB site and check out the lawsuits against them.

Choice Home Warranty advertises and sells warranties claiming to cover home appliances. If a covered appliance needs repairing, CHW uses technicalities and legalese buried in the fine print to avoid repairing the items they claim to cover. This company eagerly takes client’s money and greatly in increase renewal fees but don’t expect reasonable performance.

My dishwasher was not working a repairman came out indicated to me it needed a pump of some sort the next thing I know I mean charged another $75 and they send a plumber out and the plumber indicates to me that this is not a plumbing issue so I’ve had to pay two things for one issue and I’m really not happy about it that’s about my problem is still not fixed month going on now six weeks I don’t

Our upper AC unit stopped working. Technician came & checked it out, gave us a diagnosis and never submitted a ticket to CHW. When he left, our lower AC unit was now not working. We called the company multiple times with no response all while having to endure Georgia’s heat wave. Now, with the additional issue of the lower AC unit we had to pay the service fee again only to find that the first technician never turned our lower AC unit back on. The second technician came, wrote a ticket and CHW denied our claim. So, we’re out $170 with nothing fixed that could’ve went to repairs.

It took me several days to get a plumber and when one came the sink was broken in the process of him trying to unstop it and Home Warranty denied my claim to fit it. My sink is still stopped up and the plumber was supposed to check my running toliets which was not done. I was told I would get a call back and I never did. The customer service is awful. I have called several times, brote emails and sent text without a response. I piad Monet and got no results.

So far, with the 2 claims I have submitted, nothing has been done to remedy by problem. One took 2 months to act upon, and my issue was not resolved. This time the tech for fixing my a/c didn't show up. When I texted him, he said his car was stolen and he was busy dealing with that. I've gotten no communication about rescheduling. I'm on day 5 without a/c. This is one of the worst companies I have experienced. I need to review my contract to see when I can get out of it.

Your Account Executive, Nathaniel J, was impatient and came off like I was bothering him by asking questions. It was a horrible purchase experience. Additionally, I asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times at the end of the call and he wouldn’t let me speak to one. Highly disappointed by the level of service provided and quite frankly only chose to go through with the purchase because of a strong family referral. I sincerely hope that Mr. J’ behavior isn’t indicative of the customer service provided by Choice Home Warranty.

You are told when you buy the warrantee that it will cover home appliances when they fail even if you are just purchased the home. Then you place a claim and they say you have no coverage. I wonder why I pay for coverage. If something fails- it isn't covered.

Have been waiting for my ac to get fixed already paid the technician and hasn't even put order in yet.. My house is above 90 degrees inside hotter then outside and I have children inside the house. Have called multiple times and no resolution.. According to customer service the tech has received no answer from his supplier so I guess I will out ac for the weekend too..

Not a good company. No urgency to fix high priority items like AC in 105% heat or refrigerator that is used daily by entire family. Took 32 days for fridge and they said my stainless steel 26cuft french door GE fridge that was only 1.5 years old was worth $900 only. My AC took them 26 days to fix and I had to pay $1600 of it myself. More interested in paying for advertising to appear to be great company instead of helping customers.

Terrible experiences every time. Takes long to get a technician to us. Our AC wasn’t working in 90 degree weather. I shared with them that I need a sooner date versus waiting a whole week. I am pregnant with a 3 year old at home. CHW didn’t care though. They denied my request to get our own technician and get reimbursed. Terrible. Appointments were rescheduled TWICE without even asking me. Total wait was about two weeks to finally get a technician here.

My first claim was met with a horrible experience with a "claims specialist". She yelled at me and did not resolve my issue nor did she want to. Literally worst experience I've ever had with a service I PAY FOR. I pray this year goes fast, and I don't have to call them for anything else because I cant imagine dealing with them. the reviews on BBB are horrible.

Not sure yet. This is my second year with choice. Last year I put in a couple of service tickets that were not covered. Now Choice supposedly has a no exclusion coverage. If they had that last year that would have saved me on charges they said were not covered in my policy. I hope I do not have the same experiences as last year.

This was my first request and it was denied. The reason given for denial was not true. When I CHOICE while the technician was here, they did nothing to help. I asked for a supervisor and they told me that they would have someone call me back. No one has. I am really disappointed as I could not use the toilet and had to pay out of pocket.

I’m not sure what I have a warranty for. The part that went bad on my a/c is covered by the manufacturer warranty, but Choice Home Warranty won’t cover the labor cost of $1,400. This is after I had to pay $485 for the service call, finding where the Freon leak is and recharging with Freon. I will be contacting them to find out how to get a refund for the next two years I’ve already paid for.

Your warranty does not cover normal wear and tear such as condensation in AC Units refrigerant coil lines after aging. This is the major cause for AC Units failure due to there is no maintenance program or scheduled service program to flush and refill refrigerant Freon, especially after the unit refrigerant has become obsolete. My units have aged and needs to be replaced. the refrigerant R-22? is no longer in use. I find it is best to save my money and not rely on a warranty programs as a way to maintain my appliance operation. This seems to be a scam.

This is way over the top and borderline harassments guys. I do have to conduct business during normal business hours so all of the calls are excessive. If I could give less than one star I would! They refused to pay for a repair on my central air conditioning system. The compressor went out and they claimed it was not grounded properly or some such nonsense. Its 8 years old, they claim it should last 15 years. We live in the south ! Do NOT use this or any warranty company! They are ALL total ripoffs that will NOT pay for anything although the contract says it will!

I like the low service fee, however, on my recent claim concerning an LC malfunction (leak detected), it took 2 weeks before a tech was assigned. Previously, we had a water heater that went out, we went a month without hot water in our household of 4 and when we got tired of waiting and going back and forth with claims, we went elsewhere and got it fixed and it meant nothing to CHW. Very frustrating and lack of concern for their customers.

Run the other way, absolutely horrible customer service. Promises made never held. More than one incident with them. Had a leaking hot water heater in the garage, told me that someone would be out to fix it. The contractor told me that he didn't serve my area. Next contractor told they would be out in 10 days while water was leaking into the garage. Had numerous contacts with promises never held up.

Too many house problems and breaks are limited by the tight legalese of the policy contract. You have a repair need, and take time to set up a repairman, and then get caught by, "no, CHW doesn't cover that."

Price is too high for what you get into Mini Service call fees when they never fix anything completely. They always had to order parts and come back so if you want to dryer knob that needs to be fixed, he can take four months.

The devil is in the small print, or certainly the way they interpret it, when they denied paying for my A/C repair. Choice was great initially in getting service to my home. Their local tech was great. Despite doing all the maintenance my unit requires every year, they claimed the problem with my unit did not meet their definition of “normal wear and tear.” Think twice before you choose Choice.
