If I could give it a ZERO - I WOULD!!! On 09/19/2018 I placed a request for service on my Refrigerator. A tech came out to check on it 09/21/2018 - it was determined that it would be easier to replace than repair. I have a Side by Side - in door stainless steel Refrigerator. They offered me $400 to replace. After a dispute I ended up only getting $700, this was agreed on 09/24/2018. As of today 11/19/2018 I have not received my check. I was told it was mailed on 11/07/2018 and it i want a replacement check they will CHARGE ME $30. I advised that I will give until Monday and if not received I will be asking for a supervisor. My case manager Tommy G told me there is NO ONE above him I could speak to. That he is it! PLEASE!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

CHW = Fraudsters intentionally stealing your money and not delivering services paid for. As a customer for several years, I have not been able to get items fixed which I first reported in August 2016 upon 7 separate times (because they have a system that keeps on closing inquiries for better NPS scores / but, it has nothing to do with if the items are fixed or not). It is now November 2018 and none of it got fixed. This is really, really, really bad company as they were not able to have a manager available EVER to speak with him or, return my calls / inquiries. STAY AWAY from Choice Home Warranty!

Don't Enroll in This Company! FRAUD!
I had a cracked heat exchanger and they refused to cover it. At first they said they wouldn't cover it because the damage "wasn't from normal wear and tear." Even though their technician said it was. So I paid another heat and air technician to come out and give me a second opinion. He also said it was a cracked heat exchanger, and the damage was from normal wear and tear. He slo mentioned it was rusty, but since it was an outside until, and properly encased in metal, and off the ground on a cement slab, with good ventilation, it was definately from normal wear and tear. I submitted this information to Choice Home Warranty and they denied the claim again by saying they don't cover anything that's "rusty". I reminded them that both technicians said that was normal, since its an outside unit, and they still refused to pay for the repair. So I was out the initial $60 co-pay, then the $50 fee to the second technician, then the $1277 repair! AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

I lost my house in Hurricane Michael. Total loss. I called Choice to cancel the policy because THE HOUSE WAS GONE! TOTALED! The stupid customer service personnel kept telling me that they were not responsible for damages from the hurricane. How stupid are they? They thought I wanted to have them fix the dishwasher WITHOUT THE FREAKING HOUSE AROUND IT? Then they tried to charge me from the time they received the phone call. There were no communication options in the entire area: no phone, no fax, no email. I escalated the call to 3 supervisors and they STILL THOUGHT I WANTED THEM TO REPAIR THE APPLIANCES! DID THEY EAT STUPID FOR BREAKFAST? THEN they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee. Then the arrogant manager acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me my money back. She kept talking over me. Would not let me finish a single sentence. Told me that I WAS BEING UNREASONABLE!! I explained that if they wished to pursue it, I could speak to the local judge, who also lost his house, and see who would win. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she refused. Said she was placed in that position to take care of customers and she would not let me speak to the vice president of the department, which is who I asked to speak with in the beginning. I called her an ugly name (which was accurate; she was acting like it) and she hung up on me. REALLY? Losing the house in the hurricane wasn't enough? They had to act like that? I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH SUCH A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY AGAIN!

The water heater went out at home, CHW did not cover the water container, so i was left on my own, out of $ 925 CHW contributed only $ 300 and they got rid of the claim.
A month later the cloth dryer need it attention , they said it was more cost effective to replace it , they offer me $ 299.00. it cost more to replace it, they say they don't go by retail prices, ok then by one at whole sale price and install one, NO we dont do that either .......... then I had to negotiate and end up offering me not more than $ 350 then $ 375 max. And I had to take charge and finish the job myself and buying a used one because a new basic one costs around $ 500. And the check of $ 375 will come in 30 days. So you judge for yourself if its worth it.

I have a serious issue and spoke to a resolution person yesterday. When I first bought into Choice Home Warranty I specifically asked the sales person will this cover exactly what I currently have in my home? Of course he said only to find out that is not true. I asked this because we built a custom home and I would want the same high end appliances or anything else that needs to be replace at the same high end. My garage door motor has to be replaced and this is when I find out that they are going to replace it with a cheaper version and it will not match the double garage which now will have 2 controllers instead of just one. That is just unacceptable to me and stupid to have to carry to different garage controllers. They want to change out my belt driven garage door opener to a chain driven one which will cost me out of pocket over $175.00. I can buy a new belt driven garage door opener for $158.00 at Lowe's. I understand you are looking for the cheapest way to fix this but its unacceptable when the homeowner has to still pay out of pocket for something that is not of the same value. Your guarantee/warranty does not stand up to what your sales people are selling. I am very disappointed.

I had to file my first claim yesterday I have a drain line that is leaking under my home the Plumber came out and didn't go under the house because I had a picture from my electrician that replaced my stove wire as he finished his assessment he sent in the claim and they denied me because of corrosion and rust but the only problem is I have black plastic schedule 40 pvc pipe with pictures that clearly says schedule 40 pvc so I filed a review and just got an email from a case manager that said again they denied my claim because of rust and corrosion the last time I checked PVC DOESN'T RUST!!!! It is clear that they just done want to pay for my repair I will give them a chance and will call them tomorrow if not I will go to a different company it upsets me that I had to pay a service fee for nothing when it clearly should be a covered issue.

I regret getting involved with this company. I had to wait several days for a tech on my first claim, I paid the service call fee and was ok with the service he provided. Now that it is winter, the only way my heat pump will heat is if it is in ‘Emergency’ heat.
Fast forward to yesterday, when my fridge broke. I am told that they are trying to find a tech. The guy I talked to said if I wanted to pick my own tech, I could do the reimbursement plan but when I try to click on it, after I have made an appointment, it says ‘reimbursement not available for this claim.’ So, I call back to let them know and I am told that my claim was cancelled! The guy on the phone opens the claim back up and says they will find a tech...and they did! For November 26th! Did I say that my fridge doesn’t work at all?

The technician assigned came right away and diagnosed the problem and immediately notified Choice Home Warranty right away, however the appointment given to fix the problem isn’t until Tuesday of next week...too long to fix this issue.

I'm really disappointed with the service provided over the past year. We have had multiple issues with the toilet that was in claims going all the way back to last year - we had multiple technician's come look at it and tell us it was impossible to fix because of the make and that they would recommend replacing it. The first claim got denied. The second got approved, but the technician then left choice home, and then a third one was sent out after we filed another claim - and instead of just doing what was already approved, it got denied again. It feels like a sham at this point, in how many times we've had to pay the technician visit fee. We could have just gotten a new toilet with all of that money. I'm seriously reconsidering our contract.

I really REGRET going with Choice. I chose the company because of good reviews, but now I'm not sure who are the good reviewers. I became their customer in 2017 with 2 houses. It was fine for the first year because I didn't have anything major. It was more like a handyman calls. I was happy because it seemed like they were good at getting claims done fast. But once real problems arises, water heater - DENIED, garage door - DENIED, refrigerator not cooling - DENIED. I accepted all that and paid the repairs out of my own pocket. Now, my freezer is malfunction, and they DENIED it again with a false untrue exclusion. Then the case manager gave me another denial reason over the phone, except this time it's a reason that is not even an exclusion on the contract. I asked for it writing, but nothing was done. I want to take this claim to a higher level for review, no one else other than this case manager I can talk to. Where is upper management? With both of my houses, I have paid over several thousand dollars, but have only gotten back the service of handyman. If I wanted a handy man, I could have paid much less. I am stuck now because I finally realize what a horrible company Choice, but cannot get back even a decent refund. They are charging me over $1000 for each house for only 1 year of service for handyman work they have done, if I want to cancel my policy. RIDICULOUS!!!This company made false claims that really needs to be properly reviewed.

This company provide the very worst customer service, if there was a word other than worst to use i would. They are dreadful.
I took me so many phone calls to schedule a service call. Not only they messed up my address (I have 2 address on my contract ) sent the service tech to the wrong place. The list is endless. Tried to update my phone number to my cell, forget it. They schedule me a weekend appointment only when i call back to confirm told me I had no appointment. Then after 10 mins. The agent finds it. under yes again my other address, and calmly informed me we dont do weekend appointments.
So I am back to square one. with a very high blood pressure and still with a broken A/C. still trying to schedule an appointment.

On October 9, 2018, I submitted a claim for my washing machine not working properly with Choice Home Warranty. The first appointment available was for 10/15 with Bound South Inc. At this appointment, the tech was inside my home for roughly 16 minutes. He did not bring in any tools beyond a blanket nor properly examine the washer. I filed a complaint with Choice & they offered to send a second company out, Apalachee Home Services [AHS]. This appointment was on October 31st. I received a report from AHS stating, “the unit is not working due to a bad rotator shaft & stripped bolt.” They advised the washer “needed to replace the outer tub ASM rotator shaft and bolt” and with the cause listed as “normal wear and tear.” The next day, November 1, I received an email of denial from Choice with the reasoning, “It has been determined that the dryer [washer] at the home was not fully assembled upon the techs arrival and there are some damaged screws from a previous repair.” I filed an appeal with Choice as well as called AHS. I spoke with AHS and their rep stated they never sent the diagnosis Choice was claiming and stand by the report I have. They additionally stated Choice called and pressed them to say the first tech company caused the damage, which they did not state. AHS called Choice & told them they never stated what is being claimed by them. Amanda, at AHS, followed up via email to me to inform me of her conversation with Choice and they told her I could have another opinion due to the miscommunication. I was assigned a Case Manager by Choice, Natasha W, who said Choice stood by their denial. I explained to Natasha, as well as other Choice employees, I have time stamped cameras of both tech companies, the first never even took apart the washer nor had any tools, the washer is only 2.5 years old and has never been worked on or even examined aside by AHS on October 31, 20118 and AHS their self has submitted two items in writing to me in addition to calling Choice directly stating Choice’s claim isn’t true. I fully believe Choice Home Warranty is a fraud and knowingly creates false accusations and reports.

*** Update: As I suspected the response from Choice Home Warranty below is just total lip service. They offered no assistance, just gave excuses, and would not look into the matter. My advise is to stay far away from this company. ***** I had Choice Home warranty for about a year. The list of what they don't cover is endless and extensive. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to pay for the things they did cover. Some of the repair people they send are fly by nights. I had one show up and collected his fee and never came back to fix the problem. My advise to anyone is to just put the money aside that you would be paying monthly as a repair fund and not waste your money with this company. These people are just not worth it.

This is the second time I have use them and both times it has not worked. The first the technician left me with a new problem with my refrigerator because it next leaked water until after the repair. The second time I used them I got a technician that did not want to do the job in fact he wanted a extra $50.00 from me when he came out. I agreed but he decided that he had to check to make sure everything was covered. After plumbing company found out that everything was covered accept the basket strainer on my sink the technician did not come back the next day after taking my copay and the office would not answer the call when I call them but answered when CHW call them and the price has went up to $152.50 if I want them to come out a do work now plus my copay. The technician did no work at all and I paid him when he came in to do the work on 10/29/18. The hassle is just not worth it.

I used them on two separate occasions for big issues on my rental and personal property to to repair the HVAC system and they FAILED to deliver. On one property they said there was rust on the coil which they wouldn't repair because I should've cought it during annual cleaning (I accepted that). However, my other system was cleaned annually, but wasn't cooling. They added Freon. When that didn't help, they instructed me to get a leak test. When I found I had a leak which I had to pay $250 for they said they wouldn't cover the system if there was a leak. WTH? They essentially find ways to get out of any major job. However, they will come out and repair small jobs like a faulty oven or dryer that doesn't cost much. The customer service won't be good either. I don't plan on renewing my contract when it ends ( if you cancel before the end of your contract you get back a prorated amount minus Administrative fees).

Choice Home Warranty company is nothing but a complete scam! They will lie to you in a minute they received the technician’s recommendation to fix or replace your system, because they don't want to follow through on the technician recommendations. I have experienced this type of issue on 2 occasions. First Choice home warranty will maliciously change the contents in the Technician report and state otherwise. When I called them to point out their lies, they offered me 3 free months service, but still refused to replace my AC as recommended by the Technician. What kind of a company is that? All they do is to take your monthly premium, but refused to render the service per your contract. I am reporting them to BBB now and consumers affair; and possibly take civil action against them for not honoring their written contract. Choice Home Warranty do not have to be in business to rip off their customers. Please choose another home warranty provider and stay away from choice home warranty.

My work order was not fulfilled completely. I requested to have my leaky toliet repaired and my leaky ceiling repaired. The ceiling was repaired the plumbing company said the only received only one work order and refused to repair the toliet. The plumbing company rescheduled for Saturday between 11-3, they are coming late. I wanted the repair done on that schedule because I had surgery and this is a real inconvience.

My only dissatisfaction is the hidden exclusions for certain appliance issues not being covered unrelated to negligence (if appliance is leaking - typically it's not covered). This has burned me a few times in the past with Choice claims. I feel this is unfair to the customer.

1st time I have been with this company for a warranty & I am NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL! Because of the requirements this company sets , the companies they send out to fix things ends up costing its customers more time down on whatever needs fixed. I really would of hated to have my furnace quit in the dead of winter!!! It was the worst experience I ever had to deal with!!!! If I wouldn't have gotten on the phone with them and treated them like piece of crap, I honestly believe I would still be waiting for it to be fixed! I already had to wait 2 days ! There is absolutely NO REASON why a company they send out to do a repair cant fix the problem then and there!!!! These companies should already have the information needed as to what the warranty company will cover!!! The worst part was the fact the I was the one doing all the work making the calls to git it fixed while the warranty company just sat there telling me they were waiting on call from the tech??? Really!!!!!!?? It should have been approved the 1 time he called it in!! then it would have been fixed THAT DAY!!! This company needs & should have already given lists to the companies they use as to what is & isn't covered period!!!! This 1st experience was the WORST to say the least!!! I paid them the money AND ended up having to do all the work making all the calls to get it fixed too!!!!

My Kitchen Aid dish washer went out. Service was prompt to come and determine that the wire harness needed to be replaced. Service man said parts and labor would be $189 but found that the part was no longer available. I elected to have it replaced. First "offer" from Choice Home Warranty was $189 for replacement. I told the company that a replacement would cost $300 for the bottom of price of a bottom brand. Kitchen Aid replacement equivalent would be $more than $400. They agreed to pay me $250. I lost $100 on a bottom price dishwasher. Replacement is a joke.

I found sáles people overly pushy and aggressive like used car salesman trained to manipulate and overcome objections. I negotiated $200.00 below price quoted on the internet. Makes me wonder how solid the product is if it is so easy to negotiate the price down. Don’t like high pressure salespeople - turn off Don’t like the fact you used subcontractors

Well, we’ll see after the people who are fixing my washer comes back , then I’ll rate this again ! I just can’t believe it takes 5 to 7 days just to get springs for my washer ! Thank Goodness I can use my washer , if I couldn’t , bye the time I placed the call for the trouble it would be approx 2 weeks, I hope they can get the springs faster !!

Called about frig not working, technician came out, checked frig said it was the compressor, charged me $60.00 instead of the $45.00 on contract. Said he would send in diagnosis to Choice, 4 days later Choice had not received diagnosis, called and emailed tech, would not answer or reply to myself or Choice. I was told to get my own technician, pay another service call, submit findings to Choice so repairs can be done. Of course Choice Warranty said the refig is NOT COVERED. They are nothing but a rip off. Always find a loop hole not to pay for repairs. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CHOICE WARRANTY

They are the worst. There has been an excuse for every single claim I’ve made, as to why it isn’t covered. And they take forever. And you aren’t allowed to upgrade any equipment at your own expense. So you have to wait until whoever they pick can get around to you, and you have to accept whatever equipment they decide you can have. Period. I went weeks without heat, just to replace my whole system myself. They helped with ZERO plumbing issues. And now I have to be an entire week with no hot water, and can only have the basic water heater model that they allow. Unless of course I do what I always do, and go hire someone myself. Which is why they make money. Don’t buy a policy from them.

Beware the positive reviews, they have an action against them on the BBB for compensating people for positive reviews. I had an HVAC repair claim and the tech showed up. Great guy, determined the fan was broken, replaced it. System worked for a week before it broke again so the same Tech came back. A capacitor was blown. He replaced that but it didn’t fix it, the compressor was cycling on/off. Created a second claim and waited over a week. They denied the claim saying something broke the compressor early and they wouldn’t be paying for it because they only cover normal wear and tear. I explained that the capacitor had worn out and likely caused the issue, I told them I wish I had never signed up for service and the rep replied he would forward me to the cancelation department with no caring or empathy. Just, too bad, here’s a cancel rep. I read some of the other reviews about how they refuse to fix things for illegitimate reasons but I never knew how bad it was. Do not use these people. Other companies are a bit more expensive but you actually get service. Stay far far away from this company. They will find a way to cheat you.

Horrible(Unprofessional), the sales rep who took my order was unprofessional. She hung up on me and I called to speak to a supervisor/manager she acted as she was in leadership. Additionally, she tried to change her voice. If she hadn't already taken my card information, I have cancelled. Throughout the 1st call, she interrupted me several times. Also, she was very sarcastic and argumentative.

Anytime we called to have something serviced choice warrenty was right on it. A service appt. would be scheduled for the next day or two or to fit our schedule.

One star is actually generous. Our water heater hasn’t been working properly for almost 2 months and this company has sent out 4 plumbers so far and they still refuse to pay for a replacement. This one is 15 years old!!!!! which means parts aren’t available anymore and they are still refusing to pay. There is fire rollout which means it’s not safe and they are being the worst. When they said they wanted a second opinion of their first plumber (who recommended a new heater), I didn’t know that meant 3 extra plumbers! And one didn’t want to come after he heard which warranty company it was because he was not paid for a previous service. Every plumber has recommended a new heater because it’s 15 years old and it’s not up to code. Not to mention, you need to make sure you have at least one hour free to talk to them because they keep you on hold longer than you get to actually speak to them. And don’t expect to get it all done in one phone call, more like several calls every day! They are the absolute worst home warranty I’ve ever had to deal with and it’s not even worth paying for home warranty when they act like this!

so far after 5 days still do not have hot water heater fixed or replaced. someone came out to fix it, all we were told was it needed replaced. still don't know what is wrong with it. I was emailed by CHW that they would give us $250.00 buyout, which will not fix or replace the water heater. when I called CHW said a supervisor would call me back, I am still waiting after 3 days, no one has called, I email, the email back says someone will contact me from the service dept. still no one does. this is my first experience with CHW, I have used another in my previous house and they are much better, if an appliance needs replacing, then the service company would replace it and I would be up and running within a week. there is no communication within this company! I am very displeased!
