I filed a claim in April to have the ceiling fan in my guest room repaired, as it had completely quit working. Now we are into July and hot weather and no one has ever come out to perform this repair. I am extremely disappointed in Choice Home Warranty. I have 6 other houses with First American Home Warranty and have never had this experience with them. Perhaps you are unable to locate technicians in such a rural area. If that is the case, you should not sell warranties in an area you cannot service!

The repairman responded quickly even though it was a holiday weekend. Unfortunately the necessary repairs for our air conditioning are not being covered by the warranty that we pay so much money for! My understanding when I bought the warranty was that we pay for the service call and the repairs are covered and if something can’t be fixed it will be replaced by the warranty. I guess the warranty is a big lie!

They have systems in place to seemingly & efficiently handle all customer interactions, but their follow-up in handling customer problems is POOR in every respect! Excessive hold times, dropping calls & failure to record my requests & comments. It took 10 days & the scheduling of 2 separate service contractors to perform a simple fix on a water faucet. Their Customer Contract is also very unclear & contradictory in its' approved coverage of fixing "hose bibs", my claim has been denied at this time! After being a CHW customer since 2018 I am currently a very unhappy customer.

Once you have to go through the process of dealing with choice hw staff it's best to pay for your own repairs. They okay replacing my dishwasher and offer me 246.00 dollars. Install costs 150.00 and a dishwasher of the same every thing is $469.00 RIP OFF!

You are a joke..the tech who came out last month overfilled my A/C unit causing it to fail.came back replaced what he messed up.unit is needing freon every7-10 days. Done a new claim another company came out said I need a new outside unit and you dismiss his diagnostic and send the original company out who now says there is nothing wrong, why am I paying a monthly fee for 7 years and you do not want to approve a new unit..I want answers from you instead of getting the run around, this is ridiculous

After talking to a Case manager ,which was no more then a lily liver mouth piece for choice home warranty. He keep telling me why they would not cover my a/c problem. He was not on my side one bit it was all double talk. They have my $2900.00 dollars now they will not cover one darn repair. Do not buy choice home warranty it is a rip off 100%.

I’ve been fighting with this company for over a month for a HVAC repair. I got the best one of the warranty programs and I am still fighting them for the repair. Now they are saying I have to pay $2000 to have the repair done. Why am I paying for a warranty (the best one they offer)for repairs?!!! Do not use this company and Veteran Affairs need to stop promoting this company. As a vet I feel like I’ve been used, abused and spat on.

Not worth the investment. You have to pay for a service call. If the appliance needs to be replaced it is not replaced rather you are offered a fraction of the cost for replacement in a gift card to Lowe's. It would have been cheaper for us to just buy a new appliance rather than buy the warranty

Time and time again, Choice Home Warranty disappoints me. For this claim, it was discovered that my HVAC system has a Freon leak, instead of repairing the leak, the company only covers charging the system. My last claim was totally denied because of massaging the verbiage in the fine print, which allows the company to escape coverage on communicating thermostats. My best advice is to save your money in an account for unexpected expenses and avoid Choice Home Warranty whose only mission is to line the pockets of their Company Executives!

Telling me cleaning the motherboard and tightening the wires of my dishwasher are considered regular maintenance by me when user manual does not even mention these electrical and computer components and denied my claim. I will NOT renew and will tell all my friends and realtors not to go with you nor recommend you to others! I have never heard of anything so ridiculous. You basically stole $850 from me! Unprofessional Customer Service. He ( Ron L ) said he is a Case Manager. Lack of knowledge about the nature of cause of repair. Very rude and he hung up while talking to the customer. He needs to be FIRED. If HCW keeping your company will be low rate and loosing customers. I am moving to different company will not renew the contract. Due to this uneducated Case Manager.

It took 5 days for the technician to check our air conditioner. When it wasn't a simple fix, he then had to get permission to get the part to fix it. It has been a week and my air conditioner is still not fixed. The air conditioner is covered by CHW, just fix it. Claim # 159994216 about my HVAC issues - They rejected my claim ONLINE without sending a technician to diagnose the problem ( which I would be paying for anyways, per my contract with them). I appealed the rejection online and they assigned A Case Manager for the claim - for 48 hours that case Manager Victoria J never responded to my emails or VM left at her extension. You give a customer a time frame for a tech to come out, customer takes the day off, company that was supposed to come out states that CW does not schedule them and they do their own scheduling. Awful. I will be canceling when my three years is up. They don't pay for anything. My AC stopped last summer during 100 degree days, took the a week and half from notification to repaired. They only paid for the $60 part. My kitchen faucet broke and they paid zero towards it. That was after a week waiting for the repair person. The first one no called no show. Customer service is a joke

The sales person was very unclear about how much the policy was going to cost, and did not tell me that it was for 3 years. He also neglected to tell me that he was charging my card when I was asking for more time to talk through the policy with my partner. I felt really pressured to buy when I only wanted a quote to compare. I tried asking multiple times for a refund (probably 6 or 7) only to be told that it would take 30 days. I’m still unclear if I will be getting the refund I requested.

This company is an absolute scam. They have multiple plans (not all plans are listed on their website so buyer beware) that include multiple carve outs that allow them to deny claims. Their customer service folks are trained to deny claims whenever possible and they are in the business of scamming consumers by making the process confusing and making their money while living in the fine-print of their contracts. Do yourself a favor and just put some money in savings account instead -- it'll help you more than Choice Home Warranty does.
