They will only pay the cheapest possible to fix your problems, and it may take a long time to get it fixed. They won't even do what is necessary to ensure you get the full use of the systems they are repairing. For example, my heat pump wasn't working, it turned the thermostat failed. Even though I have a variable speed unit and 7 day programmable thermostat, they only would pay for the most basic thermostat that can't utilize the variable speed and wasn't programmable. So, if I used that thermostat, the unit wouldn't be able to utilize its high efficiency. Oh, and they don't tell you about this ahead of time. I also had to wait 2 weeks in the heat of summer to find this out.

One of the worst home warranty companies ever. But I believe they are all terrible. What’s the point of having a home warranty company when the customer has to do all the work and wait around and wait around and wait around!? It’s an absolute joke. Choice home warranty Took almost 3 weeks to get somebody out here in the heat of Summer to check our AC unit. Then our dishwasher went out and it took them a month to send a replacement. There is no expediting anything for the customer. You’re paying a premium for basically nothing. It’s more of a headache to have this company and work with them. Do not recommend!

My air conditioning system has a slow leak. The technician they sent out determined there was a crack in my in-home portion, and a new coil may be required. It was never made clear to me in my conversations with the sales people (of the warranty) that if the repairs require replacing and parts not compatible with your old system, or if they add any other new systems (outdoor – which works fine) needed because of the appliance changes, you pay for the new parts both required and necessary for the repair their way. The sales person was misleading and I believe CHOICE Home Warranty is a big scam – creating a need for newer parts, even those that are working fine. The repair businesses get a kick back, of course. I am going to report this misleading of coverage, this failure to repair all parts required for a fix and misleading warranty info to the BBB and the Michigan Attorney General. I, obviously, do not approve any work or purchase of parts for my repair. It’s thousands of dollars just because appliances are regularly changed, improved and become incompatible with the newer equipment. This can not be right. They must be able to find a way to repair the leak without making me purchase a whole new system -inside and out. I regret signing on with CHOICE. They literally gave me no choice!

I have had Choice for over 10 years and didn't have a problem with them until now. After my yearly inspection, it was found that the heat exchanger on my furnace had cracks in it resulting in the system being shut down and condemned which is normal. I filed a claim with Choice who sent out a technician who inspected the unit and stated it had to be replaced. Choice denied it and sent out two more companies who both said the same thing yet Choice decided to ignore their own technicians and state they would only approve replacing the heater exchanger on an 18 year old furnace with which all 3 of their technicians plus the technician I had that originally found the problem all said replacing the heat exchanger on such an old unit was not safe and the only safe thing was to replace the unit. However in the infinite wisdom of a technician at Choice who probably hasn't worked on a unit in years, HE decided they will only approve replacing the heat exchanger ignoring the health and safety of me and my family. This certainly tells me Choice is more interested in their bank account than they are in the safety of their customers. Over the years I have recommended Choice to many of my friends and neighbors who all took out a contract with Choice. I will never recommend Choice to anyone any more. As a result of their inconsideration I now must take out a loan to cover the expense of replacing the unit that they, by contract, are refusing to cover. Rest assured when my contract expires I will not be renewing it.

When I call in an issue that needs fixing, it takes weeks and I mean weeks to get a technician to repair the issue. The only light in my living room fell out of the ceiling, hanging by the wires. After calling the service number twice to escalate the problem it still took 2 weeks to get fixed and the technician tried to charge me an additional $50 for the visit. I called in about my AC unit 2 weeks ago and the claim is still in the “Dispatch” state.

I placed a claim for A/C because not cooling very well and running almost constantly. Took Choice Home 4 WEEKS to find a technician. Then claim denied due to repair needed was part of "normal maintenance" and our responsibility. I disagree. Had to have it fixed so had to pay technician $480 !! I think Choice Home should paid at least part of it.

Same claim was denied 2 times after 2 different companies came out on a service call and found the exact same problem with my heating unit. I was told that both companies said my unit was working properly and my claim was closed. I was told by both companies that came out to service my unit that the induced draft motor was bad and needed to be replaced. I was shown pictures and a video of the bad motor and bearings. I will be filling a claim with Triple A and the Better Business Bureau and with Travelers Insurance.

I filed a claim through Choice Home Warranty and was denied without ever speaking to a representative until the appeal process. I wouldn’t doubt that most of their claims get denied and given to the appeals process as a standard of operations and primary process. I’ve used other home warranty companies and was taken care of and made whole. Choice Home Warranty had poor customer service, did not communicate with me until the appeals process after denial and even at that time appeared to look for how to deny my appeal instead of understanding my appeal justification .

Sends me a guy to check my AC after 8 days of my request. The AC technician comes and changes capacitor , does not determine if the AC was fixed and if the cooling is there. If we set the temperature thermostat to 72, it will be still 84 inside home. Another AC technician they scheduled will come after another 7 days . The Texas temperature is in 100s and I have been without my cooling system for more than 2 1/2 weeks. Frustrating

AC company came out, said he replaced a part but I stood by him the whole time and all he did was black tape a box over & over & stick it back in. Plugged it in & blew my electric out in 1/2 the house. They want me to call an electrician & pay another $100.00. I complained& they cancelled my request. I paid a contractor to fix it myself. I'm not very happy with Choice.

I HAVE HAD for conditioning issue since 30 June and have yet to have ot fixed. I was assigned a vendor, he came out and several days later I was assigned another vendor. Now I have to go through the entire process over again. I have been without ac since 30 June 2025. I am Retired disabled military vet and dont feel like I am being taken care of. I am totally not satisfied with this warranty company.

Extremly long time for CHW to assign trouble calls (over two weeks!) Repeated reschedules even after waiting 2 weeks for initial appointment. Tech showed up after 8 PM and decided a motor/pump was bad without even turning the appliance on. Required $180 check made out to "Michelle". DId not provide receipt ir invoice. Homeowner had to provide a receipt. Worst experience with any home warranty service call

This is the worst , most disrespectful company I have dealt with in my almost 80 years. I have gotten screwed three different times. First the receptionists I encountered, 95 percent of the time were very rude. One day it took me calling back for over 3 hours until I finally got someone to listen to the problem I was having. I kept getting pushed to “push this button, push this button-numerous times/before leave your number for callback-no one to talk to(every time I called). I have had it with this lousy company. WILL NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE

You can never get hold of anyone and if you do, they transfer you to the recording “Leave your name and number and someone will get back with you asap.” This DO NOT HAPPEN! Also, they are only paying $194 of a microwave that is only 4 years old but the panel blew during a storm. I’m told that I can only go to Lowes Home improvement for a replacement. I found only one same brand at Lowe’s and when I went to buy, after accepting their HCW offer, I would have to wait up to 30 days for a gift card. Not a good company!!!!!

Customer service is awful. They are confusing. It took two weeks for them to complete a service repair referral. After the repair company could not fix the appliance, it took 30 days for them to send the money for a replacement appliance. I called several times reporting that I had medication which needed to be refrigerated. That did not rush the process of processing the claim. Choice home warranty is very slow to fix needed repairs or replacement replacements.

I was not able to get my Reimbursement Claim resolved. I was told the technician had to submit the information and the company said that's not what they do. They send the client the pictures and the client sends the pictures to Choice Warranty. No one was able to tell me how to submit them.

Terrible, I put in a claim over 3 weeks ago for my central air. You guys sent a tech out to see what's going on obviously he didn't know what he was doing because he claimed that it was the transformer that didn't have anything to do with the problem. The tech claimed that he had to get a $70 dollar part and never came back. Good thing I was able to figure out what was going on or me and my family would be baking in this heat. So with that being said this service is terrible.

the contractor they still have not provided me with the invoice that I paid 500.00 I paid that the warranty didn't pay for. They left me with no warranty info, or the model number, they did not program the other remote and without a model number etc. I can't even do t myself. I have called them, text them and emailed them over and over so I called the warranty company they sent them an email they responded and said they would contact me but they have not. This still isn't resolved it been over a month.

I had a hot water heater bust water all over my garage. The tech came and called in the claim, but didn’t have the money to pay for a new heater. So I said that I would pay for it if Choice Home Warranty would reimburse me. That was at noon today. The company said that they would get back to me. It’s now 9:00 pm and they are still deciding if they are willing to do it. What kind of Company is willing to take 9 hours to decide if they can pay me versus the technician? I’m sorry that they have decided that money is more important than customer service and satisfaction!

My Samsung washer is 5 years old and won't start balanced. My claim was denied. They determined that I had to have been overloading the machine. I am that consumer that read the booklet. I know how many jeans per load how many regular towels verses how many large bath towel. How to fold like a fan and larger bedding. And never cider the blue dot in the center. Then to have the repairman submit diagnosis and cost prior to repair, but the food is spoiling fast and I had the repair company proceed, because of this Choice denied the claim and would not pay? So do I let my thousand dollars of food spoil or proceed forward? What would you do? Worst company and customer service ever
