Choice would rather continue to pay an HVAC repair company to continue to come out to my house to replace fuses rather than just replace the box. They say they are not responsible for faulty installation well neither am I. And the fact that they would rather CONTINUE to pay to replace fuses shows they are not a financially savvy company nor do they care about their customers. So far at least they hired a decent HVAC company but Choice itself doesn't care about their customers. D-

After looking into home warranties and talking to CHW, they called me back several times "sweetening" the deal to entice me to purchase their warranty. They went through the contract with me each time and each time I asked them what is and isn't covered. They have a paragraph for each item that is covered for what is covered and what isn't covered. What each of them neglected to tell me is that while they say they will replace your entire piece of equipment if it quits working, their is fine print that states the max payout you can receive is $1500!!! I asked them several times to ensure, especially that my a/c would be covered and was always told, yes, it would totally be replaced. That is a LIE!! When my unit quit working after paying them almost $2500 over several years for my warranty, they played the game of what they could do, then who I had to use, then told me they couldn't get me product so I had to settle for a cash settlement and then gave me on $1500 for a complete AC replacement that cost well over $6000!! I can't believe they are still in business. I was told my management that their salesmen are a little rambunctious. I told him they were liars and he just laughed and I lost a lot of money.

I went to mak my claim an the customer advisor stated that it would be 89.00 for me to pay the company doing the work. He said my service fees has increased and I should have got an email on the new fees for 2021. We I didn't and I'm not going to pay this much for your service. I'm simply going to move on to a new warranty company with cheaper monthly service fees. We are living in difficult time and ever penny counts I my house hold.

Right now i don’t like anything about CHW, every time i submit a claim you always try to find a way of not paying for what is broken. This has happened to me numerous time, just recently with my home A/C compressor, the tech you sent said it was a bad compressor, yet CHW came up with all this other stuff that had nothing to do with why it didn’t work. Just to try to say it wasn’t normal wear and tear.

I've had CHW insurance snce 2017. December 28 2020 I placed a call to get service on my HVAC system. A local heating service company came out and found several problem and recommended my unit be replaced. CHW denied replacing and even repairing the unit I was insuring. I called to refute their claim and ask for a reevaluation. Bottom line: they want my monthly insurance premiums but do not to provide service or return my calls. I am 80, living alone on social security and would like to be assured i have heat in my home without paying exorbitant ekectric bills becuase my unit is not working properly.

Find some other way of letting folks know you only cover water heater COMPONENTS, without reading the fine print.

Your company does not follow thru with the warranty. I would not recommend your service because it is not professional and does not keep in contact with their customers. I did not like the service and will not recommend your company to anyone due to the fact no technician was found to do the work needed. I had to call my own plumber who was not familiar with the inner workings of your warranty policies. I was told my claim was denied due to me not having prior authorization for the repair and the claim was not filled out properly. I feel this was an injustice due to the fact I was inconvenienced and delayed work that was desperately needed in a timely matter and then to have the claim denied due to not wanting to wait any longer. The claim was filed on a Saturday and the work wasn't done til Sunday. This seemed to be another example of taking advantage of a customer due to circumstances beyond their control. I am a Disabled VET and could not wait any longer for repairs to be done and to deny my claim because all the steps were not followed properly because me and the plumbing company I chose was unfamiliar with your process. A good company would try to understand and help, not look for a way to not pay a claim.

If there was a zero star rating for this company, that is what I would select. They lie to you when you buy their warranty and you don’t get to select your own technician. When you have a claim, they send out a technician with no experience or deny the claim if the technician suggests replacement. I had a 40 year old furnace in my house that stopped working for 2 plus weeks with 30 degree temps and choice kept calling out a new tech because they didn’t want to pay for a replacement. They sent out a tech who had no experience and never called me back while he was waiting for a part supposedly to fix it. I cancelled my warranty after that experience and will never again deal with them. Save your money and DO NOT purchase anything from this company

If I could give zero stars I would. This is a scan company. I’ve had to fight for any claim I’ve submitted to be paid, after it’s been received and they always try to add on additional uncovered charges. Claims specialists have perfected the ability to not return calls and if your call get escalated, you will make 10 calls for every 1 from the person handling your claim. Customer service is non-existent, reimbursements take much longer or end up being denied after you pay to have the work done and contractors complain about working for them. Just don’t sign up or you will regret it.

I have dealt with 3 different home warranties and this one was the worst one ever. They are so bad that there is a Facebook group dedicated to disliking these people. They cover very few things. I've had situations over holidays when they called a plumber that didn't show up. I was told to get my own and got stuck with a bill. Then there was the time when they told the repairman to fix my hot water tank and the. Called him and told him that it wasn't covered. I got stuck with an unexpected $1600 bill. Check with the better business bureau in your state before deciding to do business with them.

Basically these guys will screw you with blanket statements any way they can. Even when their wrong and you go through their months long appeals process they will say to you lack of maintenance or pre-existing condition. Then you will try to sue them and realize your in a binding agreement to go through Arbitration which can cost thousands of dollars which ends up being more than the appliance your trying to get replaced. These guys are a scam they sucked my $1,200 ANY MATTER IN DISPUTE BETWEEN YOU AND THE COMPANY MAY BE SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO COURT ACTION PURSUANT TO THE RULES OF (THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION OR OTHER RECOGNIZED ARBITRATOR), A COPY OF WHICH IS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST FROM THE COMPANY. ANY DECISION REACHED BY ARBITRATION SHALL BE BINDING UPON BOTH YOU AND THE COMPANY. The Bad Reviews you read about this company are true. I hope anyone seeking homeowners insurance read about his company first. I had Choice when I purchase my home in 2016 until 2019. They would call annually for the renewal. I was still checking rates and prices when I was contacted in 2019 and educated the rep that I like to be an informed shopper and was still checking rates after he made his offers and pitch for the renewal. The rep than asked me to spell informed and you could hear other reps in the background laughing after he asked me to spell it. I disconnected the call and looked up their reviews to find others have had similar experiences with this company. They have a horrible culture there. There are also extensive reviews of them denying claims for their customers. They offer a very competitive rate, but I urge everyone to read the reviews before wasting your money with this company.

We bought a house along with a three year warranty through CHW. Our AC unit went out and every excuse possible was given to us so it wouldn’t be covered. Reaching our case manager was difficult and he was not helpful in resolving our problem. We already relayed this information to several people from CHW but it needs to be public. We have submitted several claims for different appliances and they are rarely covered. Our refrigerator repair was covered but now the repaired part is leaking and the refrigerator needs replaced and CHW says they won’t cover it. Absolutely would not recommend using this service- it has been more an inconvenience than helpful.

Nothing is covered. CHW knows what parts of appliances and other stuff you are looking to cover break more often , they don't cover them at all. The cheap parts are covered because they don't cost much and they pocket most of the money. You are paying for the whole year service plus you still have to pay the service call fees. The cheap parts that are covered, you are paying for it by the money given for the service call. CHW pays nothing. Don't waste your time and money with them. If your systems break down completely, they would not replace them because they are saying it is broken because of certain parts of the unit which is not covered.

3 out of 4 times you are never able to find a technician. When I try on my own no companies want to deal with a warranty company. And the reimbursement process is cumbersome and technicians don't want to do all that. I had a refrigerator go out and I was offered $375.00 to replace. Ridiculous, when I complained was told that is the going rate that I should be able to buy a refrigerator for. This was a full size refrigerator. Again ridiculous, they then "offered" me $500.00, as if i had a choice. Cheapest fridge I could find was $1000.00 and that didn't even compare to the one I had. I was told I was given a credit for my next service call. Then when I made my next claim I had to tell them it should be free. Was told it would be taken care of with the technician but of course it wasn't so I had to pay him. I replied that I wanted a check for the amount not another credit since this obviously didn't work. I have not had a response to this as of yet. I put in 3 claims on 12/10. They found 1 technician for 1 issue. He was here on 12/18. The other 2 they sent the normal we can't find anyone...but we'll keep looking but you have the option of calling someone yourself and being reimbursed. I can't find anyone that wants to deal with you. In the meantime I don't believe you are still looking. I have sent a reply asking if anyone is still looking because I can't find anyone. What good does it do me if I have to find my own service people and then have them do a bunch of paperwork and hope I get reimbursed to have a warranty service. I'd never do it again!

I got a quote online and immediately got a call from a representative who was giving me a better quote. I hadn't even finished reading the online information. We set up the coverage with a future payment date and all was fine. It was fine until I received 5 more calls from representatives telling me that they could give me better quotes. The calls continued even after I explained to the second representative that I already signed up. Now I'm wondering if I made the right choice. We'll see if the calls for a better price continue. So far things have not been amazing.

The denied my claim to replace my HVAC even though I produced documents indicating that my HVAC had been properly maintained. They continued to bill my account after I told them that I was not renewing the service, which required me to call them to obtain a refund. Their service contractors were not reliable. They would make an appointment for service and not show up.

Took a couple of days to get a technican assigned, then I found out they needed parts and had to order them only to find out it will take a couple of more weeks to get the parts. Initial response was great, but then I was notified that the "non-ducted air conditioning unit" was not covered. This was not a window unit - it was what is known as a split that is permanently mounted to a wall and has an outdoor condenser unit. New ones cost around $2500, and the repair bill for this one was $800. I have literally used my CHW only once before for what turned out to be a minor call on a stove, so CHW has more than received their money's worth from my original $1750 payment...

To be honest, the lead time on getting a tech to you averages about three to four days. It is way too long to wait when you have an active leak. In addition, once a tech is assigned, then you are at their mercy for an appointment. That takes another week to get someone to look. I had a recent AC leaking actively into my home, and it took a week and half to even get someone to come look. While I have had a few good service techs, the majority are rude and barely do anything necessary to fix it.

THEY DIDN'T COVER IT BECAUSE "It has been determined that the water heater is leaking from the tank and needs to be replaced. THERE IS NO SEPERATE TANK FROM A HOT WATER HEATER ITS ON UNIT!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY

I called about an issue with my dishwasher. Choice had someone out by the end of the week... during Covid too! I needed a new part. No problem.. no issues! It was great

Choice Home Warranty has systemic issues with supplying technicians for it's warranty service. In July, I was forced to hire my own technician to replace my water heater, and was originally told that I'd be reimbursed. However, CHW failed to answer my requests for confirmation and eventually denied my claim, saying I did not request a confirmation number. I recently discovered that a customer of my son's auto repair facility had a similar issue with his water heater and ended up paying for his replacement unit himself as well. Currently, CHW has taken weeks to send a technician to repair my furnace. The original request for service was December 4th. The first contractor was cancelled by CHW unexpectedly at the last minute, then a second contractor scheduled ten days later on the 14th. That technician did not fulfill his appointment, so the job was rescheduled for December 23rd. The house is still without heat. However, after several complaints, CHW did finally get the technician to check the problem. Now we await approval, and the house is still without heat in 20 degree weather. If I could give CHW a Zero Star rating, I would.

Biggest issue i am facing with Choice warranty is very late (extending to months not weeks or days) response from the time the claim is submitted till the issue is resolved. I wish if this time could be improved. Second issue is quality of technician. Last tech (Mr. Brian and Mr. John) from Airrow Air were exception. They were technically very competent and were very understanding. They listened to my problem and solved it as early as it could be. Hope you will always use company like Arrow Air and Tech like Mr. Brian or Mr. John.

I feel like your response time is poor. I have to be proactive and call and get updates on claims constantly.. And you always have excuse to not replacing unit, always trying every avenue to repair, when technicians say other.

My experience is read your contract because after my first time scheduling my first service call and really reading the contract it really only covers parts and labor for the most part. Was very disappointed. My son paid for the repair on the plumbing so I am bless to have a son that is willing to help out.

Warranty charge changed without notification. My agreement was for $60 Per service visit. Technician charged $85. When I call called they change it back to $60 But said I could not be refunded the $25 because it is paid directly to technician. Feels underhanded

Will not renew with Choice. Terrible company. We have had more than one bad experience with this company. The last was when we were expecting a service tech to be at our residence between a certain time and when he never showed we called and he said they never called him and gave him the work order. He said they do that to him all the time. Choice will set up a time with the customer for the tech to come out but Choice does not call the service company to line up the service with them so the customer just sits at home waiting all day and no one shows up. Customer service will not return your calls either. I wish I could give them zero stars.

I purchased my home in June of 2019 and it came with a home warranty. The home was inspected prior to the completion of purchase. In December 2020 I noticed a strange odor outside my home and suspected it to be gas and had the gas company come out and take a look. They came out and told me furnace output levels were high and to contact a HVAC company. I filed a claim with Choice Home Warranty and the following day they sent out a tech. The tech said they need to replace the heat exchangers due to wear and tear. The following day I get an email stating my claim was denied because my contract does not cover rust and corrosion. I submitted an appeal to the denial(see below) because the report the tech provided did not indicate this was the cause even though there is a field on the report to specify rust and corrosion were the cause. I was told my case would be handled by a case manager and received and email from the case manager to use the link to select a day and time. I chose a date and time and entered my contact information phone and email. On the day and time of the call I did not receive a call I waited 10 minutes and then called the case manager using the number on the email. She answered and alleged she tried to call me. I told her I specifically waited for the call and received none. She then said she sent an email. I said did not receive it. I asked her to verify the information and the phone number was correct the email was incorrect. She then said she had another call and I would need to reschedule the call. She said she could not stay on the phone any because of her upcoming call. I said I wanted to escalate the issue and she advised me to call customer service and ask for a manager. I called customer service and was told that the case manager is who I need to speak with I explained what I was told and they said that should not have been told to me. They said they could place me in a Que and have a manager call back. The manager called back told me that their in-house tech team determined that wear and tear for the part I needed replaced was due to rust and corrosion even though the tech that came to my home and saw issue did not. this is the appeal letter I sent Hello I am writing to have my claim approved due to incorrect information be used as the reason for denial. The reason provided in your email response was: F. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY1. The following are not included during the contract term; (i) malfunction or improper operation due to rust or corrosion of all systems and appliances, (ii) collapsed ductwork, (iii)known or unknown pre-existing conditions. This does not apply to my claim. In conversation with the rep Jay on 12/8/2020 I was told that per the notes the contracted technician spoke with someone with choice warranty and said there was rust on the exchanges this is false. I asked Jay to provide me the documentation of the contracted technician stating this. He told me I would have to reach out to the company that provided the service. I reached out to the company and obtained the content of the report provided to Choice Home warranty. There was no indication of rust on the document. Please provide the documentation that shows the contracted technician's report to me via email that shows where rust was found. I am disappointed in this company. I have been in this home a very short period of time and have utilized my home warranty that I pay for three times. Two of those three times, this incident included, I have seen an incredibly strong effort made by this company to deny claims by any means, dishonesty be it willfully or due to its employee's own lack of information. Regardless it has been a terrible experience thus far and I intend to share with other customers and potential customers my experiences in their totality. Thank you Erick Davis

I was upset that I got an appointment a week out when I did not have any heat! I live in NY and it was under 30 degrees! That is unacceptable. I had to call the tech to get another date and still had to wait 2 days. No heat with temperatures in the 30s!

It was okay this time. In the spring, I had a negative experience. They need to have in WRITING, SENT TO CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY SIGN UP, what the LIMITS of each type of warranty fix is, PER YEAR.
