I've had a policy with them for two years and every time I have a repair request it takes jumping through hoops. After they send someone for service call and you need repair or replacement ita always double talk of what's NOT COVERED which seems to be most things. I have repair or replacement and they tried telling me my AC system which needed coil replacement wouldn't be covered because of rust from leaking freon. I lost it. Spent days and days to try to get some resolution as this unit is only 7 years old and under warranty and they said it still would cost me. They said I would need to pay install fee and part would be now covered under warranty. I need my AC now as I am in Florida but I will fight any charges above my service charge fee of $60. Once my contract runs out I will run not walk away from them and I would never recommend them.

This has been the worst experience of our time with Choice home warranty. Our microwave went out and it took the company 2 weeks just to find a technician after countless calls into customer service. After a technician was found it took another week for him to come out to inspect the microwave. After the diagnosis, choice home warranty decided to replace our unit. But little did we know they would only offer HALF the cost of the value of our microwave. So we had to pay a service fee to the technician ($75) + the remaining money to get a replacement unit. Of course, the claims rep wasn’t able to increase our offer amount. The customer service was unhelpful, the offer amount was a joke and the time we spent waiting with a broken until was unacceptable HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I left a detail message about the plumber that repaired the pipe. How messy he left my kitchen, no tarp to cover ANYTHING and appliances, floor, counters, sink, and stove had drywall in around and under. He didn’t clean up very well at all, and no respect for my home. In the process cut 4holes in my kitchen and told me the water filled light would be alright, only for it to go out shortly after he left. I’ve NEVER gotten a response from Choice Home or a simple apology. The experience was far removed from amazing. It was horrible and stressful. There’s so much more to add, but it seems to be no point

The second attempt to have a technician come to address my leak was finally successful, but the issue was not appropriately assessed or addressed. I am now filing my second claim after already replacing the ceiling drywall, which will likely need to be torn out to fix the plumbing leak.

CHW sent a low end repair service to check out a bearing failure noise in our LG front loader washing machine. The technician did admit he had little experience on LG machines. His report to CHW stated in his opinion, the failure was caused by OVERLOADING and ABUSE. Also he claimed the repair was extensive and complex. When in FACT we NEVER OVERLOAD or ABUSE the machine. CLAIM DENIED BY CHW due to some fine print on ABUSE. END RESULT......We purchase a NEW LG front loader machine. Interestingly a SKILLED LG repair technician installing the new machine informed me of 2 important FACTS. 1) The bearing failure is normally caused by AGE not overloading or ABUSE. 2) The fix could be done in less than 2 hours using approx. $160 in parts. I had to pay for the CHW service call and also for the price of a NEW WASHER $$$$. In my opinion CHW does not use quality repair facilities , probably saving money for CHW and also using such repair agents to check the ABUSE BOX as to facilitate claim denial. I paid over $1170 for coverage NEVER AGAIN BUYERS BEWARE CHW will work hard to DENY CLAIMS When choosing home warranty companies my advise is BUYER BEWARE of CHW.

Getting a tech to show up, long delays in getting a tech scheduled from the time you call to when the actual appointment is. Once appointment is set, the tech does not show up and there is no call from the company letting you know that - they just don't show up. *They seriously don't have control of who *they (*Choice Home Warranty) use. Absolutely the worst company I have every dealt with. Example-Called them regarding my washing machine on 6/21/2021, it's now 7/29/2021 and my washing machine is still not fixed. They use Sears as their outside source - Sears is worse than Choice Home Warranty as a company. Sears has blown off 3 scheduled appointments, have misdiagnosed what was wrong, have ordered the wrong part. They don't let you know, that as you wait around for them the whole day, they are no showing up. Then you call CHW and they are clueless. It's amazing they are still in business - both companies.

I specifically paid for my well to be covered, it’s my only water to the home. when it stopped working, on a Saturday I contacted them and was told it is not considered an emergency repair and would have to wait til Monday before they would attempt to find someone to come out. So tht would take at least 4 days without water. Even after I informed them we had no other water source. I had already had issues with these NJ backsliders, so I was not surprised. This company has sent a repairmen tht refused to do the job when my HVAC was in disrepair, because he didn’t want to go in the crawl space. So this caused another delay because I had to file all over again. And another time tht same tech from Global Inc., said I called him and canceled him for a repair. So I had to refile once again after waiting on this guy all day. So I asked the company not to send tht company back for any reason, but they did it anyway. So I just stopped using them. So essentially I paid them for nothing. I mean they already had been paid, but I they already had my money and I knew I wouldn’t renew my contract with them. Not evn sure if any of these warranties are worth it. It’s not evn peace of mind if they don’t consider water to your home as urgent. In fact I didn’t realize they were out of NJ til after I had bought the plan. They just don’t seem to have contracts with companies in the south. I paid over $500.00 year.

However, Choice Warranty - extremely rude. Customer service has zero compassion or etiquette. I was asked verbatim “So do you wanna renew your policy or not?” Additionally, they deny every claim. Convince you to get a higher tiered plan and it turns out it doesn’t cover anything either. I hate them. They’ll call you all day and night even though you’ve told them a million times you wouldn’t renew with them if you’re life depended on it. I was always rushed when I had to speak with someone. I’ve had to pay twice to have the same issue addressed. They take a long time to find a technician to be dispatched and show no regard/sympathy.

Much like the first and only ever time we have had to use our warranty, the company they selected was nearly awful. The selected a company to address our needs. We get an initial email that they will be out the following Monday, between a 5 hour gap. Then on Monday, we get an email that they have to cancel and move the appointment to another 5 hour gap on the next day. The next day we call to narrow down the time and select between 430/5 on Tuesday and the company agreed. At 4:04 the company text me and stated that they cannot come out and need to move the appointment to Friday. I expressed my frustration about rescheduling for the 3rd time and agreed to Friday. The company then texts me on Wednesday and says they will "be in the area" and want to come out. Even more frustrated, we accommodate and make at 1pm on the dot available. The company calls me at 11:55am and says "we're sitting in your driveway and no one is home". !!!!!!!!! We work 30 minutes from our home, so I said there is n o way we can just drop what we are doing and get there and that we had AGREED on 1pm. making it "official". Anyways, they left to go have lunch and did arrive back at our house for the 1pm appointment. They were quick and efficient, so that was nice, but by this point we were extremely frustrated because we had been here before. The first time we had to use this warranty there was a huge runaround with the agency they selected and we had to involve managers, many tearful and angry exchanges, after being without air in the middle of the summer for nearly a month. I cannot WAIT to have this warranty over after our year paid. We are purchasing through another company.

The benefit of having a home warranty of unmatched, but the agony of using Choice Home warranty is not worth it. Over a month ago I started a claim for my refrigerator not cooling or freezing. It took 2 weeks to send out a technician that did absolutely nothing but that my service fee money and leave. This past week I finally got them to send someone else out who told me he wasn't going to fix it and that I should do it myself. The only resolution Choice offers me is for me to pay out of pocket to find someone myself to fix it, which is precisely what I paid them an exorbitant amount to do. I've repeatedly asked for a full refund so I can go buy my own refrigerator but that request is constantly ignored. Now I have to go through the arbitration process to get my money back from this scam of a company. Get a home warranty, don't get it from Choice though you'll regret it.

I would never use them again. I paid for the warranty upfront BIG mistake!!! They send unprofessional contractors to your home. One had his belly hanging out without a mask during COVID and his next appointment his girlfriend came along and with no judgement she appeared to be dependent on some substance. I had a plumbing issue the first person fixed it but didn't fix it correctly. I called in to say the problem was not fixed they requested for the same plumber to come back out but he did not and 30 days had passed do they made me open another claim with no co-pay but when the next plumber came he had to start the process all over which in turn went towards the $500 cap they have this time they put 2 holes in my wall and the misdiagnosed and told me I reached my cap so I couldn't get my walls fixed. I went to the BBB and I am now fighting with them to refund my money or fix my wall and they keep responding I can't get a refund but are not even mentioning my walls. The are NOT BBB approved so you are fight against a company with NO INTEGRITY!!!!! Oh they have a good way with their wording on the contract to make it seem like they cover a lot but they don't. I have had other services like American Shield and never had this problem

When my air conditioner unit failed a few years ago, they would not cover any repair or replacement of the unit. And when my dishwasher broke, the amount they offered to replace it was only half of what the dishwasher cost. For little and inexpensive things or simple repairs, they are OK, but I don’t think I will ever recoup the cost of the premium.

So far it is not looking good. I filed the claim with Choice Warranty on or about the 8th of February. This is the first warranty claim I have ever filed. I received an email on the 11th telling me the repairman would be here tomorrow. He arrived and told me that I had to pay the service today before he looked at the garbage disposal. I psi do the fee, he looked in the unit and went outside to call Choice. He returned to say he was unable to reach your company and that he would return when your company called him back. He said he could do nothing until he heard from you. So, here it is 1:30 on a Friday afternoon with still no garbage disposal. Will he be back today. Who knows. Not a good start on a business relationship.

We have had an issue with our AC and heating system since 8/2020. After making 3 claims, having 4 companies look at the system, having 3 case managers who we could only reach one time after calling over 50 times, and waiting/pushing them for over 5 months, the issue is still not fixed. The first claim we opened, the HVAC company that they sent said the whole system needed replacement. After over 2 weeks of trying to contact them, we finally received word that they will replace a compressor with a non-original/aftermarket part, and that we would foot the bill to adapt it to fit in our system, a cost of over $500. Last I heard(before they said a case manager would be in contact with us soon, then cancelling our claim), they wanted us to pay over $4000 out of pocket for a covered system. We have to call multiple times a day and still don't get any callback or are able to talk to anyone, have waited 5 months and paid multiple service fees, spend over $700 on supplemental heater and window AC units, and it is under 50 degrees in our house right now. This is a terrible company that I beg you to stay away from.

We just switched Home Warranty companies in December because of the amazing deal that Choice Home Warranty gave us for our townhouse. However, when my tenant's furnace stopped working on the coldest day of the year in Wisconsin, I received ZERO help from CHW. They took my claim, then the next day sent me an email stating that they are not receiving a response from any companies within a timely manner, and that we may call a provider and they will reimburse us. However, the next day (2 days after the original claim was made), there was a note added to the claim stating that this claim was not and WILL NOT BE "dispatched!" Meaning they had ZERO intention of helping me in the first place! Then the reimbursement was a nightmare. The service provider is supposed to submit the claim, but the link was not working at all! The guy waited with me for an hour while I was on the phone with CHW, and still the issue was not resolved. So how is the service provider supposed to submit a claim FOR ME to CHW when they have no affiliation with CHW whatsoever and the simple online claim submission doesn't even work?! I am lucky that the independent company I called was so patient and willing to work with me, while the people I rely on for these types of emergencies completely let me down. I have not yet received my reimbursement...Let's see if I even do.

I am very, very disappointed by the Choice Warranty service. I submitted the claim related to my heating problem on February 1, 2021, and I was scheduled for the repair on February 8, 2021. The temperature was around 28-30F and was very cold in the house. I called few times and asked for the earlier service. Finally, on Saturday, February 8th we could not longer live in the cold house and we called local heating company to repair our heater. We paid $95 for the service. I called CHW and asked for the reimbursement of $50 ( as our deductible for their service is $45) I've been waiting for the call back from the manager to discuss this issue. I am very upset how CHW treated us, elderly people, in the middle of this freezing winter. Im not going to stop your service if my request for the reimbursement is not granted. Jolanta Roman

They’re a HUGE SCAM!!! use lame reasons to not cover ANYTHING!! Their technicians disappear and don’t come back after getting their service fee!! Call and call to rectify!!! No help! Wouldn’t cover my AC because it was DIRTY!! Outside in the fall.... dirty!! Of course it’s dirty. But it was the compressor as I found out when I had to lay $$$$$ to replace furnace and AC unit. They wouldn’t even let technicians look at compressor! Next.. plumbing leak... after 5 Plumbers one realized they needed to open wall to fix. The DENIED him permission to open the wall WHERE THE PLUMBING RESIDES !!!! POS COMPANY!!!! Hard sell to sign up for multiple years. Tried to pressure me into 5. I’m mad I fell for 3 years of NOTHING!!! I’d give them ZERO stars if possible. There are lawsuits against them. Including a class action in several states. Did they buy this rating from you??? I will never trust your ratings on anything!!!!

So . . Furnace died Thursday morning . Called Home Choice Warranty Thursday morning. 30 degrees outside. Advised me through email that a contractor will email us when one accepts the job. Received an email , and the contractors phone# Thursday evening. 12 degrees outside. I called him to come out that evening. He did, but had to charge me $150. , instead of $65 which was scheduled for Friday. He arrived during a snow storm. Diagnosed the problem. Heat exchanger, inducer, and control panel needed to be replaced. Choice did not pick up any parts. TRANE Replaced the heat exchanger which would of cost me $1500. We didn’t get heat until Saturday afternoon. Cost of the parts, and labor $2050. It was 1 degree outside, and 58 degrees inside. 2 large electric space heaters running for 2 1/2 days. Choice Warranty said I can contest the bill which I did ,and they would get back to me through email with the person who looked over my case. No email, no phone call, no text. We moved into our new house September 4th, and the inspector stated the furnace was 12 years old, and in good condition . Obviously we had bad luck. They wouldn’t even pick up the cost of one part. I’m totally dissatisfied. I called ,and talked to an operator named Mark, who didn’t seem to care of our situation. When they wanted us to join, they were calling us 3 to 4 times a day. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT US. The only good thing that came out of this, is the Contractor. We will use him for the rest of our lives, if we ever need service. He was awesome .

Great if you need a repair, but a replacement is a nightmare. If appliance is older, only option is a buy-out offer which is not enough to purchase even the cheapest option to replace the appliance. Am calling Monday to see if they will at least cover the installation of the new appliance I had to purchase. Also, why does it take 30 days to receive the buy-out offer payment? This is NOT what I signed-up for..

We purchased a policy with Choice Home Warranty for our home. We submitted a claim for repair of a stove top and oven. The first hassle was finding a technician. Choice was unable to provide a repair technician and, in working with our own techs, we wasted hours of time navigating a sub-par customer experience and poor communication with Choice. 45 days wasted & 5 calls trying to figure out their process. We ultimately found our own technician. The second hassle was at the request of Choice, we were asking to obtain a second opinion. With two quotes from two different providers in hand, there was always some documentation missing Finally, on the day of the repair, with the tech standing in my kitchen, we received verbal approval for the claim. We executed the repair and the claim was denied. The appeal to the claim was also denied. They seem intent on finding every reason to delay, deny or refuse payment. The entire experience has been sub-par, even for an insurance company. We're pursuing BBB claim and potentially legal action. Stay away from this terrible company

Water heater had a crack in it. Choice technician explained it was beyond repairs. Choice Home Warranty did not honor the claim. Did NOT fix or replace the Water heater. I was told the reason the claim was denied because they call it a storage heater, and not a water heater. It is clearly a water heater. I feel as though they are getting a monthly payment for nothing. Very upset.

I was only with your company for 1 month even though I paid upfront for 6 yrs. I cancelled my policy #426150243 today due to your TERRIBLE customer service and my experience with your "case & resolution managers", and also due to the fact that I was denied a technical/plumber's/diagnostic report from my claim #108518862 that I needed for my insurance company in order to process the claim that I filed to fix sheetrock that had to be replaced after the plumber fixed my leak. After several attempts to contact the case manager Miyah S, she never returned a call. I have been on hold for up to an hour, and then hung up on without receiving a call back. I've called, e-mailed, and submitted inquiries through your online system. Anytime I spoke to someone they always said that I have to schedule an appointment with the case manager who wouldn't call back until 2 days later. I never received follow-ups. Miyah sent an e-mail once AFTER resolution manager Ashley S assisted me. Ashley was amazing and was the only person who I ever spoke with who actually assisted me in any way. Your terrible response time killed any positive experience that I thought I had. The contractors were all great, but your company is terrible when dealing with your clients. This was a terribly frustrating experience and I will select another home warranty company. It is VERY clear that you do not appreciate your customers.

I reported my gas dryer two weeks ago and it still isn’t fixed. Seems like Choice takes the most inexpensive method which delays repairs. This is my second poor experience as I had a pressurized toilet tank leak soon after purchasing Choice and got the run around on my first call. One rep said they didn’t cover corrosion (it was a pin hole leak in plastic) and I had to threaten to cancel my policy to get action. Eventually a recovery specialist sent me a check so I could replace the tank myself! I have no idea when my current dryer issue will be repaired!! The technician recommended replacing the motor on my dryer and that was denied.

I was happy with my appliance technician but Choice Home Warranty has a long way to go to ever get my business again. I would not recommend them to anyone. I go out of my way to ensure no one I know makes the same mistake. The loop holes for what they don't cover and the quality of some of their vendors is disappointing. Choice Home Warranty in my opinion make great effort to avoid covering anything. Their business model appears to bank on disapproving repairs. The technicians that I have dealt with are frustrated with the "GAME" as well. Got the home warranty with the home purchase but will not renew it. I have paid the service fee in the past to repairmen who could not fix the simplest of problems. Then turned around and hired someone I felt more qualified and the problem was fixed in a few minutes with laughter of what the Choice Home Warranty selected company had told me. Disappointed with the ability to call Choice and talk to decision makers as well. How can you tell me my claim is denied, is not outlined in your literature, a judgement call made by someone I am not allowed to speak to. Simply disappointing.

I would give this company a zero if I could. I paid $500 for a year of coverage and when my refrigerator went bad the tech came out said he won’t fix it due to the Freon peeking from the freezer. What I didn’t know is the tech broke the water line to the refrigerator and caused water damage to my floors and kitchen cabinets. I had to put a claim in on my insurance and have major repairs done pay a deductible and still buy a new refrigerator. After refusing to sign a new policy with choice home warranty they tried to charge my bank card without my permission which I had to block. I got on there site on Facebook and left a review of my experience not only did they remove my post they blocked me. I was so angry, then I found a group on Facebook called choice home warranty scam and found out this company is shaming people for millions and doing the same thing to thousands of other people. This company is nothing but a scam all they want is your money and once they have they will never repair anything for you. And if you don’t believe me look on google and you will see no reviews because they don’t want the truth to be told. Also this company is being sued by multiple states in class action suits.

I bought a house and the seller purchased the "Choice Ultimate" policy from Choice Home Warranty. The week we moved in the AC broke, this was the beginning of September in the South, so it was very hot. I called to put in a claim and they sent someone out to look at it. Choice Warranty told me they would have a decision in the next couple days. I have a 2 year old and I asked them what they expected me to do for "the next couple of days" with no AC while I waited for them to make a decision. They just apologized and said they understood my concern (literally the response I received). Needless to say, even though my HVAC should be covered they found a reason not to pay for the repair anyway. Now, several months later I go to file another claim because my garage door won't open. The trick here is that they only cover the motor- nothing else. If the problem is anything other than that, they don't cover it and we still have the pay the deductible just to have them send someone out. Then we have to spend more money to actually have someone come out and fix it. I thought I was getting a good warranty because of the long list of things they say it covers. The problem with the long list of things they cover is that those things are broken into subsequent categories in which they hardly cover anything. They only cover one or two things pertaining to those larger categories. So basically having the home warranty is pointless and a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY and I am still having to pay for every single thing that has broken in my house that the warranty makes you believe they will cover. Needless to say, I am disappointed and will never use or recommend someone use them.

I have found most of their service companies rude. On one claim tech came to my home 1-4 and said should have part in 2-3 days. It’s 1-25, and I’m still waiting. I’ve called multiple times and never get an answer. They won’t return my call. I had a claim denied I thought was wrong.

Choice Warranty is not something I would recommend to anyone. I called to make a service request. I explained the reason for the service call to Warren and after a short discussion Warren advised he had setup the service call to correct the problem. The service call was set for for the next day and I received an email with the details from Choice. The tech came the next day and repaired the problem. I then received an email from Choice advising me the the service call was not approved. I received a call from the company that repaired the drain and was advised that Choice would not cover the service call and I had to pay them $75.00. I contacted Choice and asked to speak to a manager after I was advised by Maria that there was nothing she could do and would have to reach out to a manager and I would receive a callback or email in about 24 hours from a manager. bad service bad service bad service

I have yet to use the service, so can't judge that. However, the salesman I had was awful. I literally sent an email request and received a phone call asking how I'd like to pay. Said I literally just inquired about this and needed to do more research. I'm in sales and understand commission, I get that. Told my rep I needed time to look it over said he was there til 5pm. I intended to call back regardless of my decision. I was called back at 2pm by the same rep wondering what I intended on doing; re: visa, mastercard etc. I'm disappointed I actually bought this from him now. High pressure. Not good. May cancel this due to this salesman's tactic. He needs a lesson in sales. I may have paid the 1st payment, but may cancel and go with someone or a company that gives me a freaking day to collect my own thoughts. Poor rating is purely off of the salesman, not the insurance.

I have been with Choice Warranty for 44 months. Choice Warranty does whatever they can do to avoid covering the cost of repairs. Recently I turned in a claim for my DE filters were in need of repair. When I called them they said they would send a technician out, not sure why they would have a technician out if they do not cover the filter system. After the technician came out he stated that the filters needed to be replaced. Choice warranty stated that the filters had not been maintained via an email and that they were denying the claim. I called them and asked who told them that the filters were not maintained and they stated that the technician had told them that and besides that they do not cover the filter element. I told that person I know for a fact that the technician did not tell them that because he stated that the filters had holes in them doe to normal wear and tear. They then assigned me a case manager for further review. When speaking to the case manager she also stated that Choice Warranty did not cover the filter element and that the technician stated that there were missing parts. I told her that he did not state that there was missing parts and that he stated that one of the rods that hold the filter system together was not staying in place when you take the filter system apart. The technician recommendation was to replace the entire filter system grid. The case manager stated that she was going to call the technician to verify that there were no missing parts. When she came back on the line she stated that the claim had been denied. I asked her if the technician told her that there was missing parts and she said yes. I said to her he just told you that and she said no that she could not get ahold of them. Not sure how she moved forward denying the claim when she could not get ahold of the technician. I then asked her what was covered on the filter system if the filter elements are not a covered item. She said only the timer was a covered item. I said, well he’ll mine don’t even have a timer. STAY CLEAR, BEAWARE AND TELL THEM YOUR NOT INTERESTED. Look at reviews most home warranty companies are ranked better than Choice Warranty. I wished I had and it would have saved me a lot of frustration. Roddy Hughes

My first claim and I had to pay hundreds out of pocket for a replacement garage door opener. The unit was replaced with one non-comparable and I had to pay extra for a remote, upcharge $100 to get a battery backup opener like the one that malfunctioned and another $75 for a keypad and $65 so that I could have two garage remotes. I would have been better off going to Home Depot and buying a reputable garage door opener that already included the items I was upcharged for!
