For the initial sign up, the customer service representatives are very helpful in answering your questions regarding appliances and home systems. They DO NOT give any indication as to what is considered old or that regardless that you just opened an account that everything is covered. However, should you be blind sided as I was, they will attempt to refund your service fee or make other concessions. Bottom Line, if the technician that comes to your home for service states that it is old, has signs of rust, dents or not clean. Your Choice Warranty will NOT cover the issue. Basically, if its new and under their warranty; the world is in harmony.

I talked to this company when they made an UNSOLICITED call to my home. I purchased the warranty because I needed to have the warranty protection, but I really don't like their high pressure tactics and the fact that they won't give you the best price unless you object to their pricing. This is the kind of tactic that turns me off immediately. Choice Warranty would be much better served by offering the lowest price possible from the beginning than offering the customer the various options for payment. I feel that a $25 service fee for each call and a $360 per year fee for the warranty would be an very good deal. Choice Warranty could offer an additional 3 months of coverage free for each year that the customer paid in advance. Lets face it most people who buy an extended warranty will not use it or will only call in once or twice during a 3, 4 or 5 year period. So this is a money making deal for the warranty company. I will probably cancel the warranty I bought at the end of the year because of the tactics they use to get you to buy.. There at too many warranty companies out there to be treated badly or have a bad taste in your mouth after the purchase...

First we receive a phone call from the contractor asking us what the problem was my husband explain to him that the line outside leaving from the house needed to be cleaned and that he would need the large industrial Auger to perform the job. After the phone call the contractor was then over a hour late and I had to call and ask if he was still coming. The contractor arrived at my home and preceded to ask my husband for the service fee my husband gave it to him then without doing anything the contractor informed my husband that since the job was outside he couldn't do anything. Then he preceded to tell my husband that he could do the job as long as someone paid him. I then call the service center and I talk to Chris who told me that after what the contractor told them it wouldn't be cover because the cleaning pipes was outside. I ask her how can that be when this wasn't the first time you'll had came out and unstoped these lines. But Chris told me that I could get a second opinion as long as I pay for it. I told her I don't need a second opinion because I know what needed to be done. The contractor was busy telling my husband that he could do the job but who would pay him . I got the impression that he wanted us to pay him and then would do the job. Now since he was refusing to do the job he wanted his sixty dollars back because the contractor had not done anything he wanted his money returned the contractor called the police while they were doing that I was telling Chris that this didn't make any sense because you'll have paid for the pipes to be cleaned before but she preceded to tell me this wasn't covered because it was outside after arguing with her for about 10 minutes I ask her to tell me how I can file a grievance because this was all wrong. She did finally transfer me customer disagreement and this lady listen to me and talked to the contractor asking him how much the bill would be and once he told her she gave him the authorization number. So we assumed that it was over but the plumber preceded to unload a indoor auger and of course it didn't work. Again my husband was mad because he had talked to the plumber before on the phone and told him what was wrong what he needed to get the job done and also where the cleaning pipes where. We feel that all he wanted was a quick buck and he leave. Because he told my husband all he was allowed to do was to plumb out the toilet. So he told my husband that he would be back on Sunday between 12 and 1 after he rented the right kind of auger and then he would be here of course he called and said he just awakened and after he ate his breakfast he would get auger and be here.

1st service call : requested was for refrigerator ice maker which they said isn't covered. 2nd service call : the appointment time taken for service call once I submitted claim was over 7 days for a technician to check out the oven on our range. Which of course was on a Friday causing us to wait until Monday for the technician to get back to us after contacts Choice ( even though the service call was at 11 am) Not at all what the advertising or sales associates lead you to believe.

Wanted to get a policy for the home I just bought. I liked the reviews I saw so I had decided to move forward with the company. The one issues was in 24 hours I received 9 phone calls! Unbelievable! It was almost a deal breaker for me. That is excessive.

This place is absolutely the worst. they don't always contract with licensed technicians, and when the technicians mess things up, Choice holds no liability to even help the homeowner fix what their technician messed up. I have also found that when the technician provides their report on the Breakage, Choice always finds a way to make things the homeowners fault causing them not to have to fix the appliance. the Claims adjuster is NEVER wrong and only wants to argue with you consistently even when they know themselves that they are wrong. My advice is to NOT go with this company or others like them.

I am "on the fence" with these ratings. I contracted four rental homes (with a three year contract) for PEACE OF MIND and so far, I have had more stress in following through with two claims. One critical claim was over Veteran's Day Weekend, so I had hoped this wasn't typical of Choice Home Warranty service. They couldn't find a service man to even begin the process for over five days. At the end of two separate service calls and the compressor completely breaking down, I was finally offered a total of $500 to replace a refrigerator that was not that old and had an "outside the door" water dispenser. Feature to feature would be a MINIMUM of $800. I ended up spending over $1000 to replace the refrigerator and got a whopping $500 from Choice Home Warranty. (Subtract the two service calls I paid from that total) My ONGOING issue is with a clothes dryer that was reported "not working" SIX DAYS AGO. A serviceman arrived yesterday and said the control board needed replacing and he would let Choice Hone know. The company called Choice Home at 6am. When I called Choice Home at 8am, they said they were still waiting to hear from the appliance company. To make a long story shorter, after multiple phone calls, I am still waiting for both companies to stop telling me, "He said; She said" and just PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE STATUS AND NEXT STEP in this painful process. My tenants would like an operating washing machine.

I was out shopping for a home warranty and as I was reading up information about Choice I decided to call to get a better understanding. What I was displeased with in my experience was my sales rep I had to ask him was he in a hurry because he was over talking me and not allowing me to ask questions. He seemed to in a hurry and I definitely did not like that.

So far, I am satisfied with the agent I spoke with; however, I was told I was going to receive the policy by mail and I have not yet received it. I have emailed the info line to advise of this and ask them to send it to me.

If I have to be honest I'm not impressed so far. I closed on my new home on 18 Dec 2017 with a warranty from Choice Home Warranty. I waited until 22Jan 2018 and never received any welcome kit, policy # info, etc. I literally had to call and wait on the phone for well over 7 minutes. I finally get a hold of someone and get a confirmation e-mail sent to me. Then I went to the site and tried to enter my email & policy # and was told it was invalid. So I then have to call a second time today and wait for over 8 minutes. A lady by the name of Cassandra was extremely helpful and fixed the problem with the account which was they had put in my realtors email & phone #; she updated with my info.

I hadn't even completed the quote online and someone was calling me on the phone. It was that fast, maybe 20 seconds after I put my phone number in, someone was calling me. Was trying to up-sell me the whole time, to a 5 year deal. I just wanted to try it out for a year, but he kept pushing. Finally he stopped. When I told him to call me back, he really didn't want to do it. I was literally paying for it online when I got the call. Their prices online are strange!... Every time I quoted the price it was a different amount. Sometimes it was 550 and sometimes it was 440. So not sure what their practices are.

This place would be a 3-4 star except for 2 things: 1) the policies are written so that there is minimal exposure to Choice which I understand, but you could cover a few more things and still be profitable which their advertising makes it very misleading in terms of what is actually covered 2) the worst thing about choice is not the way the policies are written, it is the people you talk to once a claim is denied. There are the rudest, most bitter and hateful people I have ever come across. This group is the one that needs to be the nicest, of all the internal groups and are the ones that can save business, but no, they drive it away with their terrible people skills and bad attitudes.

When you are purchasing a home, you often times get a home warranty that is paid for by the seller. When we were searching for a home warranty, we were already frazzled and stressed with the process of buying a home. Choice Home Warranty makes you submit all of your info to get a quote. We don't like filling out those forms because then you have sales people calling you non-stop. We ended up going with another company that was more transparent and gave costs up front and listed all that came with the warranty. Easy to see options and make a decision without unnecessary stress.

A trustworthy, true to his word guy, cleans up after his job, very punctual and detailed and also left us a nice report in a black folder. Does not make you feel that CHW sent a third rate service man.
