Although they're often slow to respond, Choice Home Warranty has paid off in my scenario. Specifically, three major refrigerator repairs and eventually replacement, two washing machine repairs in just the first year and a half.

I only give 1 star because I can’t give less. We submitted a claim in July for our air conditioning unit and it still isn’t fixed. The communication is terrible! They failed to get back to us with questions we had, and then they told us our claim expired!!! We reopened it and have yet to get resolution. They keep making excuses that it is summer and everyone is busy. It is now September; I don’t believe the HVAC people are that busy! I think they don’t want to pay the technicians and no one wants to work with them. Avoid this company! We have a 2 year home warranty we purchased with them; I am so disappointed by the service we have received so far. Our case manager is terrible; she never responds. I wish we would chosen another company.

We submittrd our claim on a Fri. and were scheduled to have a technician come Wed. On Wed., the appt was cancelled for an unknown reason, after we waited and changed plans. A new appt was schedu;ed for the following Fri. 2 weeks after the claim was submitted, not good. I called the new3 attempts were made with no answer, so I called Choice, they tried to call the technician and got the same no answer. l requested a new company,, they were hesitant but finally got a new appt with a new technician for a Tues f. The new people were great and fixed our problem. My question is why all this unnecessary hastle,I wish Choice would vet their companies better. Very disappointed in how this was handled.

I am not satisfied with the outcome of this claim, process, or experience. I put in a claim back in June and CHW couldn't get a tech out to resolve the matter for a week plus. I had to get my property management company to fix the AC by adding coolant and adding a diagnosis, I was told a receipt and diagnosis wouldn't work and I needed pictures. Now after waiting the entirety of August to get CHW to assign a technician. I'm told by HMB (the technicians) that all they can do is add coolant and make a diagnosis before they can fix the issue as they know what is wrong but CHW will not give permission to fix it. Not sure why I've been given the run around through this process but I will encourage everyone I know not to do business with CHW, I'm very dissatisfied with this company and how I've been treated. When I reach them I get canned responses on answers which are targeted to one issue and not the overall problem. This has been the worst experience and I advise you to stay away, nothing is going to change the way I feel, or what I or experienced with CHW and its service providers through this entire process, spanning two claims and three and a half months.

I tried to create a contract for my new home. There was no way to indicate that I was referred and should get that benefit. Also, there was no offer of "George's deal" during the creation of the account. Most importantly, you created the contract for the address on my credit card, not the address where I will be living

My overall experience has been less than mediocre. When they say they replace an appliance, they mean at wholesale prices, which does NOT cover a new appliance price. Many repairmen say they hate working with warranty companies and this is evident when Choice can not find someone to come out. We have to find our own repairman & pay out of pocket. They worst part is you have to get approval to do the repair BEFORE the repair is done, which the repairman has to return!!

I was basically a guaranteed customer, was a customer 10 years ago when I was a home owner, but the sales agent in the phone with me drove me nuts. He was reading a script trying to “save me money” by spending $2100 vs $525 per year. When I would try to interrupt him to day no, stop trying to do this, he wouldn’t listen. Then I finally said to charge my CC for the $525, all of a sudden it became 4 payments in 4 months of $525. I finally told him to cancel this policy and return my money asap. Took him another 15 minutes to stop taking and refund me. Think I’m going to go with another warranty company now.

If you call 2 times on the same subject, you WILL get 2 completely different answers. I was given misinformation from them that caused them to deny me of over $800 for reimbursement for my pool pump (which is covered) and even though they know it’s their fault, they refuse to reimburse any of it. They have no service providers for pool/spa so definitely don’t waste your money on that. Their plumbers are either incompetent or just no call/no show you. That cost me another $100+ for a leak that should’ve been covered. I had to call over 2 dozen times and some of the reps are extremely and unbelievably rude and unprofessional. This is not my first home or my first home warranty plan. This has been a year I regret and I wish I could have a do over in home warranty choice. Should be called “Bad Choice Home Warranty”.

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!! - unless you want to WASTE your money and triple your stress level. I signed up with Choice Home Warranty after 2 years with American Home Shield. 6 weeks into my 6 year contract with CHW - a compressor on my 17 year old AC unit failed. Initially CHW told me it failed due to a power surge. I had to appeal 2 times to supervisors but finally proved to them my house had a whole home surge protector installed - and it was impossible it failed due to a power surge. Throughout this process, no one knew what page anyone else was on and without question - the poor quality of employees was highly evident. After a 3rd appeal - they told me it failed due to normal wear and tear and that the contract does not cover pre-existing conditions. Choice Home Warranty is THE WORST service company I have ever encountered - even worse than HughesNet Satelite (who could have thought that was even possible). I am cancelling Choice and returning to American Home Shield - who NEVER told me something failed due to normal wear and tear and would not be covered.

I had my first claim experience with this company and it related to an over the range microwave. This microwave was a nonstandard 36" system over a 36" range, not your typical 30" system over a 30" range. It was deemed unrepairable and instead of repairing or replacing, Choice invoked their 'gift card clause' that is in their contracts and it would only give me $190 Lowes gift card to use towards replacement, when the model that died is an over $600 model. I requested a phone call, and when I got the call the rep was sympathetic but insisted that $190 was all they could offer based on their system review of the features, and that I 'agreed to the contract stating they would offer $ at their cost to replace, which may be less than what it costs the consumer to replace.'. I asked to escalate again to a manager because I did not feel their computers were taking into account that this was a non-standard model that was more expensive, but was told that she was the 'escalation.' I the end I've been forced to accept the $190 gift card to Lowe's (that will come in 1 month or less, which is another joke if you are trying to replace something NOW). Totally unimpressed with this experience and feel like what they market to get you to buy is world's apart from the real experience. Right now I'd say this company's goal is to screw the consumer as much as they can get away with.

I have had this warranty coverage for a couple of years. The only reason that I left Amazon was that the sales guy was very adamant about our air conditioner being covered by this warranty. Now I find that my claim was denied stating the reason for corrosion and being plugged. First off, the unit is 20 years old. Even an automobile will rust after 20 years! I went to the BBB website (which I should have done before signing with you) and found that SEVERAL people are having issues with you fulfilling warranty replacements. The only reason that I gave one star was that the person that I talked to was polite and the technician was professional and polite. I will go through the "case manager" route for resolution, but I am also prepared to go further to seek resolution.

I have had choice warranty for more than two years now and the circuit breaker of my master bedroom tripped and I have no power to the room. A tech was assigned who came and checked the wall units and said this will be a long job as he has to check where the short circuit was. He informed me that Choice Warranty will most likely reject this claim as it would take a few hours. And just as he said, I got an email that the claim was being rejected as this was ‘Not normal wear and tear’. I think that is a ridiculous and a easy way to take responsibility for the repairs. There apparently is a short circuit and since I have valid warranty, it should be covered. This sort of ridiculous language and irresponsibility is why you guys have such bad reputations. I’m actually considering discontinuing my warranty simply cos it doesn’t make sense anymore. Why have warranty when you guys are going to find ways to reject claims?! Totally frustrating!

JUST CHECK BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!! Don't waste your time!!! I signed up for choice home warranty over a year ago and everything was great in the beginning. I signed up for the 5 year plan and all was well. The first year they were on point, always getting back to me and getting the job done. Now I don't know what is going on there. My shower faucet needed to be changed and I called choice, they sent someone who took my set fee of $65 and said home warranty won't cover it. I figured it was my first problem with the company so I let it go. Then my water heater started leaking, I called choice home warranty and they sent someone out. I paid the $65 just to be told they don't have the part needed to fix my water heater and there would be a delay in getting it. I spoke with choice and they told me to get a plumber on my own and they'd reimburse me. The total was $350. This was almost 8 months ago and they still haven't paid me back. Everytime I call I am sent from person to person. I have been told a bunch of times that they sent the check out but it's been returned. Now I don't know much about USPS but come on!!! 2 times I have verified my address with them. Numerous times they have told me" we sent your check out, it should be there in 2-4 weeks." I have been treated like crap from their "manager." Nothing but the run around from these people. Don't waste your time with these thieves!!!!

The technicians aren’t all vetted by Choice, they use a giant pool of companies. This means that any fly by night can come to your house, or in my case turn in a claim without even coming. Also, Choice has to give approval for every little part of each repair. This means that the tech has to come out multiple times for a repair and you het to take off work and wait all day each time for them to show up. My next appt. Has a 9a.m.-8 p.m. window when they will show up. I think an 12 hr. Window is ridiculous! BEWARE OF THE FINE PRINT AND LOOPHOLES & exclusions of repairs. On air conditioning work, they won’t cover FREON which is necessary for most ac work. It will cost you out of pocket around $500 for Freon. Nor will they pay for any part that uses r22 Freon on older systems. They force you to replace your entire system by saying it’s a state requirement and you get to pay out of pocket. Shame on you Choice! They also only communicate through email and tell you when the appointment day and time is at. You never get a choice. It’s chosen for you! Bad bad customer service! Choice sucks and I’m a first time customer and this will be my last. My repair has been a nightmare., has been going on for a month now and nothing is fixed. Not happy about living with no air conditioning in these record breaking temps!! DON’T USE THIS COMPANY EVER!

Our central air quit working on July 22, 2022 and I contacted Choice Warranty. One week later a service person came and said the air conditioner had to be replaced. The claim was approved by Choice but the service company refused to complete the service. A second company was sent by Choice to replace the unit. This person said that the unit did not need to be replaced just repaired. He was here a August 15. He said he would come back a repair it on Tuesday. We never received a call telling us he was denied the claim. Today, August 17 I spoke with someone at Choice and was told the claim was rejected. The main reason we purchased our warranty was because of the heater/ air units. We live in Alabama and the temperature has been the high 80a and 90s. We are senior citizens in our 70s and we have lived without air for 4 and a half weeks. We purchased our second 3 year contract. We are so disappointed with the service we have yet to receive. Does not provide coverage it states it does. States outrageous reasons to deny a claim. Then, to have your claim reviewed, because you disagree with their decision, the process is several days long. The person on the phone tells you that you will be able to email and call your case manager, but you can't. You have to schedule a 15 min phone call which is 2 days out. I have a policy through 2025. If not satisfied after my 15 min phone call, I am cancelling my policy. It would be better to put that money in savings and fix/replace items from that savings. In my opinion, and my sister's who had the same issues with Choice, Choice is not worth the money. After paying a fee for a technician to come review the situation, and then have it declined because some inane, unreasonable reason, I am better off saving and paying out of pocket. Trust me, this is what I am telling my friends as I complain about this situation.

I truly wanted to rate them lower because Choice contract out to companies who are unskilled and unscrupulous that are trying to make money off of Choice customers. Choice goes along with them and they refuse to fix problems that their unskilled and unscrupulous contractors break intentionally. At the end of the day, no matter , you will still have to pay the service fee each time they come out no matter if the problem is fixed or they need to come back. Because they are all crooked , you will have to wind up paying more than service call. Horrible. Dynamic Flow Heat and A/C intentionally broke my A/C system and told my compressor was broken two weeks after I just had a perfect tuneup with freezing A/C. Dynamic Flow Heat and A/C were called out just to unclog my A/C but he claimed the compressor went out while he was working on clogged drain. Now Choice won’t fix what Dynamic Flow broke!!!! I’m going to file a lawsuit against Choice and Dynamic Flow, etc. Dr. Art

Even though I was pleased with their service I wonder why a local company was not used. Now my 3rd claim took a little less time to schedule but the technician did not come out. There was no call from said company with explanation or to reschedule. I called the company number provided by CHW only to find it was for a pool company. Don't waste your money on this scam company. They will most likely fix your faucet for $85 service call fee which you could pay directly to some handyman and get the same fix, but if some major stuff blows out forget about it. Water collection pan in my AC air handler rusted and leaking water which eventually shuts down the unit. Tech who came didn't bother to check the pan material even though I insisted and put his notes that it "cracked" assuming it was plastic. CHW was happy to reject my case due to "damage or misuse/abuse" stating if plastic cracked it was due to some damage. No matter how I tried to convince them it was a steel one indeed, nobody cared - they had a formal reason to decline coverage. I heard many baseless statements from their service managers about "non-moving parts not covered", "that part not covered" etc which was lies since their agreement boldly states "all AC parts are covered if failure occurred due to normal wear and tear". What is rusting if not wear and tear? How can you prevent a metal piece exposed to water 24x7 by design from rusting? What kind of maintenance would have prevented this? Nobody cared to pick up a phone and actually call that tech who put initial notes in. Assigned case managers were helpless and miserable, not sure what their function is if they have neither interest nor power in the claim process. To wrap it up, they will make up any stupid excuse you can or can't imagine to deny your claim if it's significant.

I have been happy with with Choice up until now. My wash machine is missing a tag on it and Sears repairman can't work on machines without this tag. I tried 3 times telling a lady this in your claims department but all she would say is no they will fix it, this happened also in April so I knew they couldn't work on it. So I finally said fine and hung up. Sears came and couldn't work on it but i had to pay the $65. After a week of not hearing from choice I called back. Talked to a nice lady who set up with another company. Guess what??? had to pay another $65!! Called company back to ask about the $65 again I paid out and after 15 minutes was told I wouldn't have to pay it the next time. Usually I have a claim a year so I guess I will wait till next year before I will benefit from that. OMG it will be like winning the lottery. as you can tell I won't be recommending Choice anytime soon. Have had Choice 3 years now and two years left on my contract. Hope I don't need to use them again.
