It is very easy to file a claim with Choice Home Warranty company. I do it over the internet and they keep you informed of who and when someone will be there to take care of the problems. They stay on top of the job until you are satisfied that it is taken care of.

I generally appreciate the speed in which things were done. I half expected to have to wait for a tech to not come until after the weekend but we got a Saturday appointment. The response to resolve the issue was also quick. The only real issue for me is that we haven't received our eGift card to purchase a replacement yet.

I'm grateful for the things that have been repaired and that the cost was less than if I had called a actual plumbing company or electrian. I appreciate the money saved for those times, but there have been times when nothing was actually done upon arriving at my home, but I still had to pay the fee, so that wasn't fair in my opinion.

The technician was amazing! He went above and beyond and fixed what I needed fixed. I did not like the Choice Home Warranty did find a loop hole with one of the items I needed fixed and denied it. I did not like that because it was a simple fix. It should have been covered.

My 1st experience with Choice went well. My garage door opener broke and within a week a service person came, assessed and replaced it on the spot. My 2nd experience was quite different. My stovetop broke, a service person came out, and within only 5 mins assessed it was broken and needed to be replaced. Choice offered me $371 for its replacement and did not cover installation. I looked online and could not find a suitable replacement for that price so I called customer service and relayed that that price was unacceptable and that I was told when I purchased the service that installation was included. This felt like a bait and switch they said they don't do installations and the monetary value was all they would offer. I'm not a handyman and have no idea how to handle gas lines. They didn't budge on the price they were giving for the broken stove top and said they'd put a check in the mail. It's been over 2 weeks and the check has yet to arrive...

The last repair person took a month to replace my garbage disposal. He claimed it was because he didn't get approvals from you, then his phone didn't work. A whole lot of excuses. He eventually did the work and took no time at all but I had to keep pressuring him to complete the job. I think you need to do better at follow up with your contractors. I shouldn't need to follow up.

I could not reach the contractor after several attempts. When he did show up, he was distant and reluctant to answer questions. He told me my ducts needed cleaning. I scheduled (and paid!) for the service and was informed that my dryer really was not in need of duct cleaning. In fact, the maintenance man showed me a handful of lint, he'd gotten out of the hose (from inside to the outside of the house!).

We made our claim for a dead man’s crows e. The serviceman came out and we definitely needed a new one. We got an email that said they would give us a gift card to Lowe’s we have to go pick it out and buy it , have it installed and pay for the installation. They are sending us 191.00 . The only microwave they have like ours is 450.00 plus installation and service call from Lowe’s.We are 84 and 73 with many medical bills. The reason we got this policy was so just this very thing, money out of pocket would not happen. So we paid the monthly fee plus their 85 service fee. Do the math! How happy do you think we are? The case worker assigned to us never called , I called but you can’t talk to them. You have to make an appointment online for a 15 minute call two weeks away. If the call goes over you have to make another call.

Response time for finding a plumber and completing the repair was adequate for a small leak in the crawl space. Reported issue on a Tuesday and the repair was done the following Monday. Plumber did complain about the size of the crawl space but older homes in Southport have smaller crawl spaces than what current codes are for new construction.

My hot water quit working on Wed 6/21/2023 and I filed a claim at 9am CST with Choice. 24 hours went by and no response. I called Customer Service and they said they were having trouble finding a plumber to take my claim. Another 24 hours went by and no response from Choice. Finally on Friday afternoon, they found a plumber but they were booked until Monday. The Plumber they sent was great and they quickly diagnosed the problem but had to order a part. They put a rush on the part and came back out on Tuesday and installed. Cold showers for 6 days was no fun and I think Choice could have found a contractor quicker and get me fixed up.

This company has communication problems. The individuals you talk with on the phone unfortunately have an accent. It’s difficult to hear at times. We have policies on two condos, one in Colorado one and Las Vegas. We needed service, but they put the service contract out on the wrong condo. We called and canceled it two days before the appointment. However, we are notified by the gate security at our condo that their repairman had arrived on the original date again which we had canceled. On our other condo we had another service on a dishwasher done, but the parts were on back order. Received a voicemail from choice that said, call and schedule an appointment when both parts had arrived. There was an original Return date scheduled. However, that was canceled by smart choice and the seers repairman because the parts were on back order. We had not called and rescheduled because the parts weren’t at our condo yet and we were going to be out of state. We were notified that the repairman had showed up on the original appointment date. There seems to be no communication between choice and seers or perhaps other other contractors. And when we talked the choice about the first appointment and they said it was canceled seers never got the cancellation notice. The other issue is when seers calls us and an appointment date is scheduled. They say you have to be available from 8 AM to 5 PM. Can anybody take a whole day out of work just to make it easy for a warranty company and their contractor to make a 45 minute repair. And we are going to have to call and cancel an appointment that we currently have to fix the dishwasher because the day that they assigned us which is the day before Thanksgiving we cannot be available the whole day to wait for the technician to arrive. They need to get it down to two or four hour blocks of time in order to be realistic about getting these repairs done. we would cancel our contract now but we’ve already paid through next June. We will be looking for another warranty company unfortunately For the above stated reasons.

The only thing I would say I did not like was the fact that I as a homeowner had to tell you what was wrong when I'm not absolutely sure and then I get charged if I'm wrong in my assessment. For example my air conditioner went out but I had no idea was an electrical problem and not my air conditioner. All I knew is my air conditioner wasn't working.

When I had a claim they took my info quickly but initially could not locate a refrigerator repair company in the Kansas City area???!!!! This made me question their value. They wanted me to find one and reimburse my expense which is a hassle I do not need nor expected. In the long run they found someoene who did the fix quikly and quality and that is what I expected in the first place.

Thinking of canceling our Choice warranty. We’ve only had one service call, and the repair person was nice, but this is what happened: our washer filled with water, wouldn’t drain. It’s the bottom unit of two stacked, with the dryer on top. The repair person came within a few days. But he looked at it and said he couldn’t do anything unless we hired a team to remove the dryer and place it outside of our house. He rescheduled our service for a week later. We looked into doing this, but realized we would spend $100s to hire two people to remove the dryer then come back again after the repair to place it back. So our washer is still inoperable a week later, and we’re now getting repair quotes from other companies. Every other washer repair in past years (when washer was under manuf warranty) we’ve had has sent two people to move the dryer off and then back. One company said the problem may actually be the drain line inside the laundry room wall. If that is so, doing what the repair man required would only cost us money and delay the time we have no laundry. We paid $2300 for six years of Choice Warranty, after an aggressive sales person offered us what looked like a good deal. We were told it was refundable at any time. I hope that is true.

like saving money. sometimes it takes a long time to get the parts in and get the job completed. that is an inconvenience say when a frig or washing machine is down for 2-3 weeks. also a frig went bad and we got a $1000 credit on a $2000 frig! lot of money out of pocket.

Initially the tech who was here was very friendly and informative. He told us that he needed approval to take apart the dryer because of where lint etc was trapped. However, he reported something completely different to company. We are now in an appeal process because maintenance is not covered. Taking the dryer apart is not regular maintenance. Also he didn't tell us he put wet towels in the washer. Smelly surprise next day. Not amazing but can't change the preprinted word on green box

Out of 3 service call 2 service calls was fine. Work done on time with good results. One call end up costing me $1200.00 instead of $65.00 because you could not provide A technician and my technician did not know you rules and it's end-up costing me full price of new pool pump. He should have fixed the pump. Your technician would have known the rules.

My technician diagnose the problem and ordered the part. He’ll return on another day to install the part. I wish they carried parts in their vehicles so customers wouldn’t have to be inconvenienced another day. They never give a specified time, only a four hour window.

I must say that I am very disappointed. My hvac system was pouring water all over my floor so I called in as an emergency and they said they would match me with someone in 24-48 hours. So it didn’t matter that there was an active leak on this system. Also didn’t have hot water for 4 days and they didn’t seem to take that seriously either. The technician recommended replacing the hot water heater and Choice Home Warranty just wanted to fix parts and the hot water heater is from 2007 and will probably have another issue in a few months and I will have to go through this process again. The expert was here and sent pictures of what he saw and said replace not sure who told him to repair it. The stores were closed so I’m going all weekend with no hot water. Frustrating.
