I had a bad experience every time I would call, for any items that were definitely covered in my contract, whether it was plumbing or an appliance; I was never satisfied. It's always been a bad experience with them.

This company sale you a dream. My first claim was denied because of a valve that failed in my A/C unit and just so happen that valve is not covered. They keep telling me to read my contract but my contract don't list what valves in your system is not covered. If you say you cover the A/C system why is there exclusions? My system has been shutoff by the people they sent out and now they're telling me to call the repair company and ask for a discount to get it fixed. I have no trust that this company will repair any of my claims. Horrible warranty plan and I am canceling my contract dont care the money I will lose. I'm not giving them anymore of my money.

Think Twice Before Choosing Choice Home Warranty I want to share my experience with Choice Home Warranty so others can make an informed decision before signing up. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. This was our second issue with them. The first time, we had a plumbing problem that they initially denied, yet we were still charged $75 for the service call. When I called customer service, I spoke with a representative overseas who apologized but said the fee was non-refundable. After a long conversation explaining that the issue was real, they finally sent another technician, who ended up fixing it. This entire process took two days and caused unnecessary stress. Today (3/11/2025), we had a roofing issue after a rainstorm caused a leak. We called Choice Home Warranty, and they sent a repairman. He confirmed there were multiple issues and submitted his report. However, the company once again denied the repair, even though we were charged another $75 for the visit. Since the problem needed to be fixed, we decided to pay the same repairman directly from our own pocket to get the work done. One thing to be aware of is that the company charges a $75 fee for every service request, and in my experience, they have denied repairs even when their own technicians confirmed the issues. Additionally, if you have multiple problems, each must be filed as a separate request, requiring another $75 non-refundable fee per visit. After dealing with this twice, we’ve realized that relying on this warranty service has cost us more in time, money, and frustration. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before choosing Choice Home Warranty.

I paid a lot of money up front for a 3 yr warranty & in the beginning CHW was great, responded fairly quick with assigning technicians and covering repairs. But the last several times I've called, they couldn't get anyone to take the work order because they owe their service providers thousands of dollars. They'd cancel my work order without notifying me, I'd have to call back & submit a new claim. They denied my repairs twice.

They are very unresponsive. I had a refrigerator issue with the filter and ice maker. They told me it wasn't covered because there was a recall. I never got a recall notice. The repairman told me to continually defrost the ice maker on a monthly basis and use pliers to change the water filter. Unacceptable! More recently, dishwasher buttons were not working. They sent a repair man the next day, which was good. Without asking me which was bad. But I called the repair man to come which he did. He told me he would have to file a request for a new button unit from Choice. That's the last I heard about the issue and that was over two weeks ago. I contacted the repairman and told him I had not heard from Choice had he? He said he would look into it in the meantime I have no communication from Choice as to whether they are actually going to cover the replacement of the buttons. This also is unacceptable. I paid a lot of money for this insurance. Their people don't communicate and they are rude. It's not what the salesman told me he was selling me when I bought a three-year contract. I will not sign another contract.

After experiencing 2 claims, the first one denied once plus an appeal (stated it was a pre existing condition which it obviously wasn't. Then a couple months later my dryer was progressively taking longer to dry my clothes (duct cleaning) so I put in a claim and it took 2 weeks and they finally sent an email with a vendor scheduled to come out. I called the vendor as per their ask to confirm and he was great and corrected the issue which was a duct cleaning that was needed. I paid him the $85 service fee and he left. A while later he calls and says that Choice will not pay him, so I ended up calling and getting to a supervisor and they assured me if he called back in that he would get paid. Well he called back in and after getting hung up on by the rep 4 times he got through finally and they argued and said that he was not the correct vendor and they would not pay him. It was a mistake on my part for evn choosing this company and will not recommend them.

The only thing I disagree with them so far is that I had a plumbing issue. Everything was backed up, but according to the agent, the system had not assigned a contractor to my case for almost 15 hours. I was told they didn't know how long the wait would be, and that I could hire my contractor and get reimbursed. I only got reimbursed a little over 1/3rd.

It may be because we are rurally located, about 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, but the responsiveness of the warranty company is laughable. Last January my heat pump failed at the house. The repair didn’t happen until March. I had to try and use my own technician then when it turned out they would need a replacement suddenly I was forced to use their technician or forfeit their warranty payment. Then this October my refrigerator stopped working. They sent a technician out after a month and immediately rejected his diagnosis, which was incorrect. I hired my own technician after that and finally got the refrigerator repaired after a month and half without one. I’ve submitted the documentation for to be reimbursed, but it is still pending. I hesitate to file another claim over the remainder of my contract because the company does not seem the care of they actually fix the problem or not.

It takes weeks to get someone to come and look at your appliance issue. parts need ordering after that if Choice warranty approves. You then need to schedule the repair. Choice is good about covering it just takes weeks which most of us can not wait for. It took about a month to address my issue. and received a check a month later which didn't cover a third of replacement cost.

Every experience we’ve had has been horrible. We’ve been without an air conditioner going on 6 weeks now in 90 plus degree weather with elderly people in the house. Called over 15 times to help expedite to no avail. Given the run around on part approval , Original technician they assigned quit the job because they wouldn’t approve the cost he submitted to make the necessary repairs. As of today it has burned reassigned and still has not been fixed. They also took over 3 months to for the board issue on our dishwasher. Not impressed with the service we received to date. When you call in for assistance all you get is a run around. Will be looking for a new warranty company when our policy expires. Buyers beware!

The service guy was pleasant and somewhat knowledgeable. He tried to convince me that using a 12-foot snake was as good as a Roto-Rooter cutter for cleaning my drain of tree roots. The problem is still partially there as the toilet and shower drain better but are still slower that 6 months ago.

My first claim with my microwave was satisfactory. However I tried to reach a representative yesterday with a question about what “electrical” covers. I have a wiring problem in my condo where vanity, lights and closet, lights and laundry room lights go on and off, especially when using another household appliance such as the washing machine. I tried five times on your automated system to say electrical and could never get through, no matter what I said. I did leave a callback number and never heard from anyone.

Buyer beware of limitations, and contract is vague. Appliances are NEVER replaced, they offer you a.gift card in lieu of their "cost" to replace, which is a fictional database of what a.like kind product would cost them to replace. In my instance, the initially offered me $329 to "replace" a ge wall oven. I work in construction and buy wholesale appliances all the time. There is simply not a way to purchase a wall oven for $329 any where. After 3 phone calls, and going on 3 weeks, I finally agreed to settle for $1012. But the actual e-gift card may take another month or more to arrive. It is clear after discussing my claim that they are focused on paying the bare minimum for a claim, no matter how long you have been a customer, how much you've paid in premiums, and how few claims have ever been made. Also, it will commonly take 2-3 days to get an appointment for a service call, which is normally another 2-3 weeks out. Do not believe the 24-7 hype. It is a flat out lie.

Its worth it because I am getting too old to repair the stuff myself...denied claims are frustrating though. I claimed a leaking outside faucet and it was approved and repaired, another claim with the exact same type pf faucet (laundry area) was denied. Overall though I am please with the service.

I have been with this company for years I have had some claim one for my AC another for my dryer machine this claims were Ok not really satisfied with the final results, but still ok, I Just had one for my washing machine and really disappointed they always want to replace they do not fix and want to offer almost nothing, $349 and I paid $75 of deductible, so at the end I am getting $274 so it will be more than impossible for me to renew.

I have been with Choice for about two years. The response to my claim was great but in my case waiting for a technician was not so great. My refrigerator was on the blink and by the time the technician appt time it was completely out. It’s going on week two… waiting for parts now. Otherwise, the technician I have is professional and diagnosed the problem in no time.

I did call them and spoke with the gentleman ‘Melvin Q’ that sent me the quote, he was not interested in what I had to say about being over charged. Mr.Q was too busy trying to up charge me to a 3 1/2 year warranty.

Service for my heat pump was scheduled. Tech came out as scheduled. Said my system was low on Freon. Didn't have the equipment with him to check for a leak. New A coíl was installed last March and system was fúlly charged . I had the system inspected in January and was told system was operating properly. Tech said he was unable to get in touch with CHW to get approval for any repairs. I paid my service charge and my system is still in the same condition as before. A waste of my money.

We have utilized the services of Choice Home Warranty three times in the last year. The first time was for electrical issues and we STILL have outlets that don’t function properly. The next time was for a plumbing issue that involved our water softener and it was resolved. However, a week ago we called for a plumber to unclog a complete stoppage in our kitchen sink. The plumber arrived five days later and was unable to unclog the sink. Our issue is still not resolved and, because an email from Choice Home Warranty basically said that this is the “best we can do” we are having to call another plumber today to resolve the problem. I would not recommend this company.

Not happy with “Choice” sending repair person. After 6 days and they couldn’t find anyone they told me to find someone and they would reimburse. The cost was $160 for diagnostic. Now they say they dont pay for diagnostic if we use our own. If they found someone they would have to pay them. They gave us no choice but to find someone to come out.

First off I'm losing water by the hr while all this goes on for a month. Initially choice sends out this extremely incompetent supposed plumber that doesn't even go under the house to see the leaks. I complain enough to get a second opinion. Which were competent but slow on reporting back to choice. Then choice declines the claim all because they mentioned something outside the house. Even so they should cover what is inside the house! So furious about this whole ordeal. Dealing with this a month and just end up screwed. What do I have warranty for again!? The right thing for you to do is still cover the house and not the outside. Whether it means a new quote from the plumber or whatever. This isn't right

I liked the quick response when a claim is completed online. I did not like fact that I was given an additional charge for a repair when it was indicated on the way that it was covered. Although the cist was minimal it should be clearly indicated in the contract. Overall for the most part it is worth having in the end.
