This last refrigerator tech was very knowledgeable and experienced. He and his fellow tech went right to work removing all items from freezer and fridge after completely and clearly explaining the cause of my overly chilling and freezing of refrigerated foods. They removed backplate from freezer to check coils and repositioned fridge shelves to insure proper cooling and temperature in fridge. I very much appreciated John’s expertise but requested he speak softer a few times. His voice volume was very loud and hurtful to my ears in the small space the 3 of us occupied.

In my experience with choice Home warranty, with a heating element in a dryer, or a Dishwasher, they will replace it. However, with something larger like an air conditioner they will automatically deny coverage. I was told that the issue with my air conditioner was not normal wear and tear. Who decides that? Regardless I called back complained and I got partial coverage. That tells me, this is more of a policy they have rather than an understanding of what normal wear and tear is. It is even more frustrating, because it adds days (in my case a week) onto the repair of an air conditioner in the middle of a summer in Houston, Texas. If you are worried about small-ish appliances, you may break even with the $500 a year plus $65 visit, but I doubt it. I would not recommend choice Home warranty, not even to my worst enemies.

Choice has been quick and comprehensive on our claims except for the first one. Our dishwasher had to be replaced and we had to negotiate to get an acceptable amount. Otherwise, they have stepped up and done full coverage on other claims. We just had our fan motor for HVAC replaced with no problem.

Purchased two Choice Home Warranty five year contacts for both properties. Rate: $2275 + $1750 = $4025. Service Call Fee: $45. Coverage Plan: Total Plan. Have only used one contract for a Above the Stove Microwave which discontinued heating. Filed claim. Paid technician $45 for Service Call. Microwave repaired and worked for just over a month. Discontinued working again. Had to file another claim. Pay again $45 Service call because was not within 30 days. Technician determined Microwave could not be repaired and needed replacement. Choice Home Warranty paid us a check $330.00 to help replace it. Built in Cabinet Microwave and Installation from Lowe’s cost us a lot more. Other home have not been so fortunate. Have had issues with Choice Home Warranty not wanting to cover repair or replacement of Hot Water Heater, Refrigerator and Garbage Disposal. Am unhappy with Choice Home Warranty and regret purchasing contracts!

Choice provides quick response for the claims. The techs are attentive and most of the time accommodating. Sometimes the wait for an appointment is longer than appreciated, but companies work with you to adjust the timeline. Overall, happy with the coverage.

I have already rated this experience once and I stick by my comments. The rep was quick to determine the cause of my problem, however, the damaged part was my $100 programmable thermostat. My replacement thermostat was no where near comparable to the one that I lost and so I am very disappointed that my unit was not repaired to its original programmable working condition.

They will fix things but when it comes to replacing they will look for a loophole to get out of replacing the appliances. I have been down this rabbit hole before with my a/c. Now it is my dishwasher they say they will replace but insult me first with a lowball offer to fix it myself. This is very bad for business and customer suffers their decisions. Customers beware!

I was happy with how fast they got someone out to take care of the problem. I was not happy that it still cost me $400 dollars for them to replace my water heater when I could have gone to home depot or lowes and bought one for that same price. The warranty was purchased to help prevent that kind of out of pocket cost and not to have to come up with money for those kind of repairs.

My appointment was scheduled between 11-3 (no show or call or anything) At 4 I called the tech he said maybe 5. ( no show yet) At 7 i called the warranty company to explain to them what happened and that the need to cover the deductible because they over booked she said “thats not gonna happen” . The tech showed up at 830.when i asked him why are you running so late. He said ask home choice the over booked us. Anyways, this is my first claim and if this happens again. I will cancel my policy. I am not going to waste my day waiting on your tech again.

Contract is misleading. CHW doesn't replace new appliances regardless of age, as stated in contract book; but instead they give little money to help pay for new. My GE double door with water and ice maker, along with other bells and whistles stopped working. They chose not to repair and wanted to offer $389.12 to replace! They did replace my brand name water heater with a generic brand name one and it went out 3 years later! Just like auto maintenance insurance, CHW is MIA when you need them to step up to the plate. By the way, I did find another frig to replace my old one but i had to put up over half over what CHW is paying out! Lord, help us consumers who don't have extra money lying around when things break down, but pay home warranty insurance with hopes and prayers they will pay the claim in honesty

Choice gives me the piece of mind knowing that the major appliances are covered. They can be picky about some things regarding coverage. They will cover the washer motor but not the drum drive. They will cover the compressor on the refrigerator but not the ice maker.

Whie this is a well-known firm; it has issues with the subs it has on file. Most are very small operations, with limited staff, especially ones with experience. In this regard, it may take a while to get a "technician" on site. Sometimes CHW will try and make the repair seem due to negligence, rust, etc., rather than just making the repairs. On the plus, they will give a multi-year discount and also discount the service call fee.

The only thing I liked about Choice Home Warranty was the company that they used to replace our electrical panel in our house which was Dr. Circuits Electrical. They did excellent work and were very professional and respectful. And what I didn't like was the money I had to pay out of pocket to get the job done. I feel as if I'm paying for a covered service it should be covered without me having to pay an out of pocket expense other than the fee for the technician to come out.

I am still waiting to get a call back on 2 of the appliances . this is now going on for several weeks . they even sent me a email; saying to get my own tecnitican to do the repairs and pay them . send them the repair bill along with the paper work and pictures and they will refund my money in up to 30 days . this is not what I signed up for . I just want you to do your job for what I paid for .

I had issues before the last two service requests. The last 2 service guys were great. quick, polite, no mess. I did pay extra for roof coverage and when I filed a claim it took from April 2020 till now, October 2020 to find out CHOICE does not cover metal roofs. still waiting for my refund.

This is the second time for fixing the dishwasher. After flipping the bottom spinner twice and paying 60, i turned to amazon for the spinner arm and the next piece down that had worn. I paid under 12.00 and fixed it myself. Secondly, if im to recommend your company you should give my referrals the same price. May want to think of a discount for senior citizens. My last repair man, Rich, was great! I would recommend him to anyone! Fast, clean, and he wore his mask the whole time. He was kind and informative.

I received a call from a representative with Choice Home Warranty who was explaining to me about the program. However, we were disconnected in the mist of our conversation. There were some good statements made about benefits that would be in my favor. However, due to the disconnect of the telephone call there were no confirmations made. I have a problem with the $85.00 service call since this warranty probably will not be used on a regular basis and payments for participating in this program will be $52.92 a month.

Choice has a great contract which is written to give them the upper hand. Over the course of several home warranty's, I have made 7 claims for repair/replacement of a failed appliance. As of this review, only 1 claim was resolved. The other 6 claims were denied and was informed it was up to me to replace the appliance on my own. Ease of making claim/appointment 5 of 5; Scheduling vendor to address the claim 5 of 5; Vendors knowledge and able to address the issue 4 of 5; You probably will not recognize the name of the vendor they send to your house. Report process from vendor back to Choice for repair/replacement 1 of 5; customer has no visibility. Claim approval or denial - 0 of 5;

We have had coverage for almost a year and never used it. Getting up with Choice was harder than it should have been. Their phone line is out due to Covid and are only accessible through online request. I had questions & needed to talk to an actual person, but managed anyway. Was expecting immediate response to evening request but it was next morning before I got one. But technician was very knowledgeable and got to us quicker than the scheduled appointment, so I am very pleased with the final outcome, just not the initial process.

I paid 1,500.00 for this warranty and used it about 7 -8 times and had to pay the service man 45.00 everythingthe come to my house. PLUS THEY LOOK FOR WAYs NOT TO REPLACE YOUR APPLIANCES. I WAS TURN DOWN FIXING MY FREEZER THAT wAS IN MY KITCHEN CAUSE THEY SUPPOSEDLY HAD IN SMALL PRINTS I HAD TO PAY EXTRA. I was very upset and swore not to used them after this contract is over.

Not the best experience. And definitely not my first time buying a insurance for my house, but the sales rep. was extremely pushy. I would've paid for a longer coverage but because of the pushy attitude and his rudeness at the end of the call i'm just going to stick with the one year coverage instead. Not all the customers are the same and it's never "now or never" kind of deals. I wonder how you guys treat your existing client If you guys treat your new customers like that. And now i'm thinking about cancelling my payments and to find another company to give them my business.

This experience with the thermostat was a positive customer experience. However, previous experience with my dishwasher that stopped working last September made me realize that CHOICE Home Warranty is NOT worth the $480 per year fee that I paid. (The email SUBJECT from CHOICE indicated that they would REPLACE my dishwasher, however, the text indicated that CHOICE would send me a financial settlement of $280. Not one dishwasher that exists can be replaced for $280!!!!! $280 does not even cover the cost of installation, let alone cost of the product!!!! After negotiations, CHOICE increased the settlement to $400. That covered 40% of the cost of replacement of my dishwasher. (The cost of the new dishwasher PLUS installation and take-away of the old unit, etc., was over $1,000. I paid more for the installation than I paid for the actual dishwasher. And, that does NOT include the $65 that I paid for the initial evaluation by a technician.) The reason that I chose to get a home warranty is to avoid high costs like this, that do not fit into my budget. Well, that benefit flew out the window with my dishwasher experience with CHOICE. And, when I requested to cancel my CHOICE Home Warranty, I was informed that CHOICE would not do so!!!! So, I am stuck with your crappy warranty. I will not be renewing my CHOICE home warranty come July 2021!!!!
