Very slow in sending a service person. Does not comunicate we Very slow in sending a service person. Does not communicate very well with the policy holder. Also very hard to reach a human to talk with or by pass the computer. I did have a very helpful person at Choice Home Warranty yesterday (Stephanie) when I was able to talk to someone. Most people will get very frustrated when trying to reach a human and the computer cuts them off. I was left with the impression that the company is only interested in the money they collect each month and the policy holder's problems or concerns.

I am currently waiting for a claim manager for a claim that was rejected. The air conditioning was working normal and then suddenly it started to get hot in the house. I called the phone number and walked through the steps with the automated service and received an email the next day for repair. Technician said the equipment leaked out from the outside unit. It is only 4 years old and is under warranty. But I am being told this is not normal wear and tear. That the air conditions day to day job is to move refrigerant and deal with pressure and temperatures, that if anything fails (connections, fittings, etc) that it is not covered. Hopefully this is resolved soon because I am on the 3 rd day of being with out air conditioning in my home in this Texas heat.

Trying to communicate with a live person is frustrating. Need clarification on the service appointment to complete repair on our washer. As you suggested I sent an email 3 days ago and have yet to receive any reply. Finally called service department and waited 35 minutes for a technician to answer. Only took a minute to find out my service time was changed from Monday to Wednesday but no one notified me. Ended up losing 2 days work thinking I misunderstood the first appointment time because the arrival window was between 3 and 9 PM.

Our trash disposal stopped working. It was very easy to submit a claim. The company that the claim was assigned to, contacted me within a couple of days, scheduled an appointment and showed up at the scheduled time to replace the disposal.

I've worked with Choice Home Warranty for years, both professionally and personally. I have had many service calls over the years and, with a few exceptions, the technicians have been excellent. The wait times are sometimes lengthy so putting in a claim on line is easier.

I have had quick response from Choice on both occasions I have placed a claim. The workers who were selected to provide HVAC service last year and handyman service recently were pleasant and professional, and they completed the work needed to my satisfaction. My only issue was that I submitted two claims on the same day which required the same service provider, and only one claim and work order was generated. I was able to connect by phone and remedy the situation while the worker was still here. The claims representative I spoke with was polite and helpful.

I have never had a problem. One call which takes less than a minute. My job is then dispatched out and I receive a message within a couple of hours from a technician with the date and time of arrival to diagnose the problem. I am very happy with Choice Home Warranty.

The technician was great but I am disappointed that the part had to be ordered and he couldn’t come back until June 29 to fix it. The part arrived two days after he ordered at my home but I still don’t have a working dryer! So hard to get by without a dryer!

As far as scheduling goes, it’s easy. Calling and speaking to a customer service rep to get additional help, not so much. If you have to be transferred to for additional assistance, no one EVER picks up! It’s frustrating to say the least. While I really wish this was not an issue and I could give 5 stars, I will also say that the companies that have been sent to our home have been exceptional. In the end, that is what matters.

It sucks when your A/C unit stops working especially when it’s a 113 degrees out. With Choice Home Warranty our technician got our A/C unit working properly again within 24 hours! So glad we have Choice Home Warranty otherwise it would have cost us a lot more of our time without A/C and lots more money!

The first service call was good but on the current claim, the original call was opened 10 months ago, can't get a hold of the tech, and I've had to call at least 6 times and go through sales to get someone on the phone from the customer service group. That person did not follow through and told me I would have to pay a second service fee to get a new company to do what the first company failed to deliver. The original claim was closed. I eventually got a hold of someone that was helpful who opened a new claim. Thankfully that person did follow through. I now have a new appointment and scheduled that will hopefully resolve the issue I've had for 10 months. The only reason I'm giving a 3 is because the first claim went smoothly. This one has been a disaster.

Repair was scheduled timely ... greatly appreciated since there was a leak under the kitchen sink. Technician took the time to check all possible ways water was leaking and once he found it, tested and re-tested it to ensure the leak was stopped.

The tech. person who fixed our toilets was the best. He had to remove one toilet to get at the blockage. He was very good at his job. I have liked all the tech. people and companies that Choice Home Warranty uses. I was disappointed that the toilet removal to clear the blockage, was not covered by Choice Home Warranty. So I had to pay an extra $95.00 plus my co-pay of $65.00. This is the reason that I only gave Choice Home Warranty 3 stars. I feel strongly that having to pay extra was unfair. The warranty is to fix plumbing and to fix the problems, which required removing the toilet to get at the blockage. Prior to this, I was very pleased with the warranty.

When I have problems with an appliance, I will be calling them. The way the plan can be transferable is a wonderful idea.

I love the security of having this coverage. I don’t like that it takes several days to get a technician. Currently I’m waiting for a response to a message I sent yesterday regarding my washer. When can I expect the ecard for Lowe’s? Also how is $383 replacement costs when a new one like it is on sale at Lowes for over $500. Regular price over $800. This is the first claim that has resulted in replacement so I’m still evaluating if it’s worth renewing my policy in the future. I hope it is.

What CHW covers is good. However, it seems the cheaper repair is what is allowed. With my service call, there was a leak in the coil of the a/c meaning it lost freon. The freon was replaced but the coil was not because it was a small leak. Why not repair it correctly the first time and not have a second claim when the freon will just leak out again?

Inquire about the long term contracts, and give yourself a little more peace of mind!

My ac went out on May 7th. I called Choice and they arranged for a Technician to come out on the 17th (between 3 and 8pm). No one showed up or called. Choice found another Tech company for May 27th. As temps were now high 90's. My condo was very warm. I called and begged them to get someone sooner. They found someone for Sunday night the 22nd. And he showed up with an Assistant. They also called to let me know they were 10 mins out. He was great and got it fixed! I had to pay the serve fee and since the issue with the ac was related to maintence it was another $150. Choice was unable to find someone in a timely manner. I called someone who came over within 2 hours. They told me that since the unit was over 25 years old it needed to be replaced and charged me $125. Hopefully, my ac will not go out in the middle of a Nevada summer. While the Customer Service people were very nice, not sure the hassle was worth it.

It was easy to submit our request online and by next day we received notice of scheduled appointment of service. I don't mind if it's some appliance that can wait for a few days to have service. But for air conditioning especially during hot season, I wish the service can be scheduled within a shorter period of time. Never the less the a/c technician arrived well within the scheduled time period and did a great job.

Choice sent a great technician, who was friendly, efficient, and did a great job. Our complaint is that the item being repaired (a water line) was outside the home - which we made clear both in the automated system and in a follow up phone call to Choice. We were told after the fact that our claim was denied because our policy does not cover repairs to items outside the home, but we were charged the $65 Choice service fee anyway. Maybe the automated system isn't sophisticated enough to know the limits on our policy, but the customer service person we spoke had access to our policy. If it wasn't for the fact the technician they sent was fantastic, this would have been a one star review.

A disappointing first experience. I go through your online process to submit a claim, and that part is easy. When I submit, it tells me to call a service number as soon as possible to provide further detail. I call that number (immediately after) only to discover that you're closed. Why direct me to hurry up and call a closed call center? If I have to wait till morning, say it up front!!! You need to do a better job of setting expectations so that an already frustrating problem at home isn't exacerbated by an unexpected roadblock when trying to follow your directions to get service. I really want to like this company so I really hope my experience is recovered tomorrow.

I was a bit disappointed in the amount of time (days) between my services request and the actual day the maintenance people will arrive.. (Five days?) Nonetheless, when the service was performed, all was made right and with haste by a gentleman who knew his business and went about fixing the problem. while taking time to explain exactly what he was doing at each step. I find that a rare quality among most "mecanics.". I would. indeed, recommend this one to anyone with a hVAC problem.

CHW sent two separate companies over to inspect my malfunctioning wash machine. Both agreed it needed to be replaced and could not be repaired. They only offered me slightly more than half of the cost of replace the unit. I wish I had understood when I bought their services that they value your appliance on their own “wholesale” amount: whatever that is. They do not take into account current market prices, do not value it with the same manufacturer nor do they offer cash; a gift card to Lowe’s. I complained about that and they agreed to send me a check to do my own shopping, but again, the funds still have not arrived and can take up to 30 days to receive this small token of a “replacement” amount. This policy to “fix or replace” needs to be better explained to all potential buyers.

I am happy with CHW. I called about my water heater leaking, was able to have someone look at it within 2 days The only thing I didn't like was the first tech didn't fix it. Had to pay $85 twice for someone else to come and look at it again then wait 5 days to finally have a fix.
