You save on repairs I guess. I’ve had them for a long time. I think it is a good company but they have really disappointed me. I was really happy until this weekend when I had to pay $500 out of pocket and the repairs didn’t finish on time.

I would never recommend them. I am only still with them because if I change plans the price goes up considerable. Service calls would go from forty five dollars to seventy five dollars. The policy is good but what they cover is bad. Customer service is unresponsive. I am putting in a claim right now and I haven’t heard from them in five weeks. The response time is terrible. I called and they said somebody would call within 24 hours and I still haven’t heard back.I called them for the pool and they sent out a guy who didn’t bring his tools and it took him three days to come out. He only diagnosed the problem and he was asking me questions about my pool equipment and I was like you are the repair guy not me. They don’t seem to care. They get the cheapest possible.

I had American Shield for 2 years and wasn’t happy and I am not a happy camper with choice either. My AC went down May 25th and it is June 15th and I still have no sir conditioning. I am waiting for service people to come out and do some work. The compressor is pretty bad and they think the unit has to be replaced at the price $450 plus the sixty five dollar service fee. I am paying for the whole service fee for the year.

I like the price but there are a lot of hidden gems in their ad that don’t add up. I am not satisfied with some of the things they do. I needed a new washing machine and didn’t give me enough money to cover it and I needed a new hot water tank and they didn’t cover it.

Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is not so good. It totally depends on the service they send. Sometimes there is a service person that is not too good and I have to get in touch with somebody else. It is very cheap, that is why I took it and I have used it several times when furnace is not working.

Customer service doesn’t follow through and they don’t cover what they say they are going to cover. I have a microwave/ convention oven combo and they said they were going to replace it but they were only going to give me $169 for it and it cost me over $800. They only pay for the cheapest one. I have had them for over 2 years.

I think the acutal deductible or the cost of visit should b e lower than $60 considering the cost for the entire service that's provided. It should be half that. We needed to use it for our septic tank and for our toilet and we have a 91 year old here and we had to wait 5 days for them to call. They make appointments, but they're not immediate.

Customer service has answered my questions when I've called them. I've used it twice, one for my air conditioner and it would have cost me $3000 out of pokect, which I can't afford. That's why I got this insurance so I'm not real happy with that and I'm strongly considering changing companies.

My washing machine wasn't working properly and I called twice. The guy came out and twice he couldn't fix it so they have to send another guy and I had to pay another $45 so I paid $90. And the second guy he can't fix so they wouldn't give me the full value of the washing machine. They only gave me $299 and the washing machine cost me $700.

Up until this claim they have done a good job. This claim was handled poorly and no repair person ever contacted me so I called and did it my self. Now I have to figure out a way to get remimbursed for my service call. I was never contacted and told that they had no one in my area.

they dont cover much in their warranty. Plus they don't explain there coverage when they sell it to you. They say we cover everything like dishwasher, water heater etc... what they mean is they cover PART OF THOSE UNITS not ALL parts.

You have to argue with them to get everything done. My refrigerator ice maker in the door went out. It wasn't the ice maker thing, it was the mechanical device in the door that would not open the door to let the ice out, which was not connected to the ice machine and they didn't want to pay for it. It took me over a month to get them to do it. I'm not very pleased with our choice home warranty at all.

It's a hassle to get paid. I had to replace something with a problem with the septic system and they wouldn't pay because they said it was detachable. They ended up paying a courtesy payment of five hundred and they still did not pay like the warranty is supposed to pay.

We used them for a dishwasher and they came out and it was fine. We used it for our air conditioner last year and the guy that came out didn't fix the unit so they had to send somebody else back out. It's very incovenient. They don't cover some of the things that need to be covered and the contractors they sent out weren't qualified to be here.

The last claim I had was A/C issue. The tech came out said I needed a service, that I found out I did not need. The tech then told CHW i refused the service and lied to them. Now CHW will not cover anything to do with the A/C.

It depends on what I was calling for. I had a very bad experience with my air condition unit where instead of covering it, they didn't cover anything. And I ended up paying over $5000for it. They did not cover it like they should have. There was some kind of thing in the small print where they wouldn't cover it. With minor things it was fine. First they wouldn't cover my microwave either. The service people seem to be fine.
