I’m glad to have the protection but very time I have an issue it seems it is never covered by the warranty. So I’ve had to pay out of pocket each time. There is always some explanation about modifications which makes no sense because any house you buy unless new will have modifications at the time of purchase because of upgrades. It’s just really frustrating.

I have used AHS for over 15 years. They are prompt, and send good people, usually, to repair items. I have learned that the small repairs are handled really well & are the reason I have a home warranty. Do not expect them to replace large items. That won’t happen, in my experience.

Frustration with return phone calls to advise me what American Home Shield will do and how they will proceed with repairs or replacement. It was one week between the time the service man came and assessed the problem until I finally received a call from AHS with their options. I chose the payout rather than wait 6 weeks for parts to arrive; it has been another week, and I still haven't received the funds promised me for my washing machine.

Vendors do not operate locally and subsequently do not make the service calls until 4-5 days after the initial call for a needed repair. I am assuming that there are no vendors in my county so AHS must rely on vendors that are miles away. Sadly, AHS clerks are clueless to vendors accepting jobs but are quite a distance from the “job” resulting in a several day delay in showing up for the request.

So far, so good. Every problem has been addressed with prompt courtesy. However, some of there contractors leave a little to be desired as far as being able to reach them with ease, but the help department is always really available to assist with contacting contractor when you cannot reach them.

when doing measurement on appliances on things need to have appliances people do measurements. I have a stove that is 1and half inches to large to go into wall. I now have to pay someone to come in and do carpentry work and then have it put stove in!!

I was without AC for over 6 weeks, they kept sending the same company out that never could figure out what was wrong. We requested a different service company but was told that he was our only option. It took me filing a complaint with the BBB to finally get them to agree to send someone else out who was able to fix the simple issue in minutes.

My furnace had a brocken valve that was discontinued. First my clain was denied. I got a second opinopn and was approved by AHS. I must pay for needed upgrades, but I am gratful they are helping my with a new unit.

If they covered my above ground 24' diameter pool & above ground hot tub as well as, not waiting till something breaks COMPLETELY down before replacing it. Even if you raise the premium. I would have paid. Then I would give 5 stars. Otherwise, be content with 4. Just my 2 cents.

Darren the plumber came the next day and did what appears quality work. American home shield recommended Quick dry for clean up. She never gave me a quote and put me off until Monday on Friday. I called to get the quote and never heard back from her. I was totally snubbed.

I only gave a 4 because I had made a request for an AC issue and never heard from the contractor to fix it and cancelled the request.Then the problem started again and I made another request and still had to call but then did show up and fixed the problem.

Today I’m not to happy because of plumbing contractor . I asked him why my toilet flushes so slow and he told me I needed a completely new toilet bowl! When I googled the slow flushing problem I found out I need a new Flushing valve and drain flap because the bowl is not filling up with enough water to force a good flush. So my toilet is still backing up

Generally AHS has been reliable; it's been 10 years this August. HOWEVER, sometimes the assigned labor contractor was a sub-standard business. Difficult to contact, schedule, sent junior technicians who made mistakes, hard to reschedule, very frustrating. took forever to resolve

For the most part they have been amazing. I was not happy about scheduling my routine ac through them. When the ac repair person found an issue I had to call in a service request and pay another fee. Seems like I should have just called in a repair instead of paying twice.

There is not a number where you can call to talk to a Supervisor if needed. They only have representatives outside of the country and aren't able to transfer the call to a supervisor. You either speak to a representative outside of the country or you speak to someone in states that only can speak to you about joining American Home Shield or billing questions but not help you if have a problem with your account.

The second time I called with an issue on my dryer, the response time was excellent. My first time trying to use their service was in the first year of having my contract. I was having issues with my septic tank, but they were unable to find someone to service it. I called the company that put in our septic and had the issue fixed ourselves.

Very good customer service by call center and that is the only good thing I am giving stars for. There is no communication coming from company beyond call center employee, no follow up, no connection with actual people making decision regarding the service and no communication coming from company on why the decision was made. Poor call center people try to do their best to explain but they have their hands tied and can't really help beyond certain point.

At times, they’ve prompt with repair responses, for ex this past three months 2 out of three repairs were fast enough for me not to suffer from the damage utility, the other I had to stay without water supply in the entire household because of an incompetent representative that was supposed to put the claim urgent and did not do so.
