When having dryer fixed the first business assignment was awful, never called to set appointment then called and was on wsy. I wasn't home so rescheduled and they never came, took over 3 months to have repaired. The next business was absolutely wonderful came right away and was very professional.

Attentive but the washer is still showing the same issue and the light is blinking again. We lost a day of work waiting for repairs and to get this fixed again would also require a wait and loss of workhorse so not exactly cost effective

The first 3 repairs were wonderful. The 4th repair not so much. We could not get it done and had to pay for it ourselves because the company could not set us up with a repair company. We had paid for the repair so we requested a refund of the deductible. We will see if that happens.....

My overall experience would have been higher but the last experience I had with AHS I was very disappointed. I contacted AHS to see if bathtub faucet was covered under my warranty and I was told it was. But when the vendor came out they told me it wasn't. Bottom line is if I had been told the service I wanted done was not covered I would have taken a different route. Instead, since I was told it was covered I had to pay $100 just to have someone come out and tell me it wasn't. The misinformation led to me spending $100 that I didn't have to just give to you just to have someone come out and tell me it wasn't covered. I should be refunded $100. Very disappointed!!

Service was easy to schedule, had to order part and return which was expected. Repair Tech was very knowledgeable and friendly. The only thing that gripes me a little is that we have to pay 75 dollars to schedule the service call along with my monthly 59 dollars a month insurance payment.

The primary benefit of AHS is the significant cost savings on home appliances. Unfortunately, most of the contractors they partner with are subpar, and when an appliance can't be repaired, I'm given the run around and have to wait for months before I can get approval from AHS for a cash-out option for a replacement. I'm questioning whether the financial savings is worth all the hassle.

You should screen your contractors! I was without heat about 10 days, had to stay in a hotel while your first contractor LIED about the issue. I paid out of pocket for another contractor who replaced the thermostat which was dead but he couldn't get heat to work until you sent the next company out who repaired it without issue! I spent $600 on lodging then$200 for a thermostat.

I am yet concerned about how AHS vets it's service providers. Do they just receive faxed or mailed paperwork to verify their qualifications or do they also meet with them to assess other skills in an interview? Do you do background checks? I ask because over the years I've had some service providers with very concerning behaviors, such as racism and alcoholism. Lastly AHS representatives should take its consumers concerns regarding providers seriously. I've had AHS representatives tell me that they must take the provider's word over mine.

As to NorthStar, It took way too long to have the service and the selected contractor were inept; failed to make adequate repair; they scheduled follow-up appointment and never showed or called; showed up for one follow-up without any tools and asked to use mine. JTL was then assigned and did an excellent job. It took over a month for the repair- way too long. JTL diagnosed and had the repair in relative short order. NorthStar was totally unacceptable and is not a company I would ever recommend.

Foreign call centers make it difficult to understand person you are speaking to. It is taxing on patience. Also there are less and less contractors affiliated with AHS. When I joined years ago, my normal contractors were part of their service call companies. Now their only seems to be a few- ones that a majority of their work is AHS only- and they are far away and are not familiar with my home.

AHS is too rigimented. No option to escalate. The CSRs are locked into a process that is not flexible. Customer has to wait 24 to 48 hrs. Then call assigned vendor. Issue? If yes, then back you go to AHS CSR and the 24-48 hrs is triggered again. AHS costs and services are too are wrong. 1 example. We used Sears for years. Switched to AHS for costs and the s tech advised the cost of repair exceeded their budget. Sears = use it until it stops. Your ratings looked good. We switched. Kept using washer for a year before it actually shook the house. AHS sent tech. It was Sears. They checked, tried but could not fix. AHS and Sears tech talked. Sears pulled their parts and left. AHS tried schedule a company. They did not respond. Asked AHS why another try another vendor. 24 - 48 hrs to wait for another...then I had to call them to schedule. Asked AHS if the vendor can see the remarks of previous. Yes. So they were not going to bother wasting a service call based upon Sears recomendation. AHS still sent another 24-48 hrs. AHS is to rigimented. AHS CSRs have one option. Call, wait 24 hrs, email, wait 24 hrs. Finally anot service tech. Asked what the problem. Checked. The unit was locked. Couldn't remove assembly. Reported. Replace machine. AHS contacted and offer option. We bought from Lowe's and updated AHS. 6 years between Sears and AHS. There a saying down south: "Bless Your Heart." Don't wait for devine intervention. Ask yourself if the costs vs service is priced correctly. Want 2 more examples? Let me know. You're asking me to sign up with BestCompany.com? Happy Thankgiving.

AHS has a difficult time providing service in rural areas like mine. And when they fail to find a provider the option is for me to find a provider and go through he process of getting them to make an estimate and then see if AHS approves of them doing the work. It can take weeks or longer. Small repairs have been handled very well but we have been without heat or AC for 6 months because AHS canon find an appropriate service and we can't afford $5000 to from the repair that AHS may or may not choose to reimburse.

1. I want to be able to see every service order I placed; add a history; 2. some of the sub-contractors share their difference in service under the various home warranty services and AHS don't come out favorably, depending on the service order, from replacing an appliance to replacing parts on a item; 3. Collect the deductible after the service instead of up front, because it's a little challenge to get it back, due to circumstances; that's enough.

While American home shield have made repairs at my property I will say it's been hit or miss. There customer service is terrible because their agents are from out of the country they have a hard time understanding. That is the main problem with American home shield. They also need to do a better job on picking which contractors to use I have had a few that misdiagnosed the problem I had.

Years ago when we first joined AHS, the service was impeccable and excellent. But over the years we've gotten poor service from the companies AHS allow to service their clients. One time no one ever showed up to fix our problem and when I call, I have to talk with someone who I can't understand at all what their saying. Outsourcing your help desk is not good for Americans!!! Typically our issues have been fixed but now the monthly premium has gone up. We we started we were paying $69 a month and now it's doubled and I understand inflation but give me that same impeccable service I once got!!!

Technician was good at getting my problem solved; however, while he was here working, someone from his office called and tried to upsell me several things. I did not like that. I wanted my problem fixed and wasn't interested in upgrading anything. The things he offered ranged from $175 - $1800.

Phone service has gotten much better, but the service people who respond can't fix anything and break more things. We tried to have 2 refrigerators fixed that took over 3 months and 3 different service companies. Finally, we got some help and one was fixed, but broke again. The 2nd one the service company broke 2 pieces of the refrigerator and now the icemaker doesn't work.

First time we tried to use them for A/C tune-up the contractor never showed/called/returned calls to myself or the company and their solution was to keep trying to contact this person after almost 2 months of zero contact from him instead of suggesting or referring a different contractor and I had to go through hoops to initiate a refund ..2nd time I used the service was relatively flawless and pleasant experience

They don't always repair your appliances. They take the word SOLEY from the repair technician and never contact the customer. They do NOT take any input from the customer on decisions or any information OR evidence from the customer on those decisions. You get Tech that is inexperienced, in a hurry, mad or just wrong, and you are out thousands. I've used AHS for 30 years and will change when the contract is up. THEY HAVE CHANGED AND IT ISN'T FOR THE BETTER!

My request services has been excellent until the last company to come fix my service wasn't as responsive after the job. He said he would call since he couldn't fix it. I asked them for a estimate if they were to fix my problem, they didn't reach out to me. American shields did not update me either. I tried to reach someone one. They helped the best way they could, but I wasn't satisfied with the way it was handled.

Website doesn't allow notes so I had to assume I needed an AC guy. He was here 15 min, said we needed a plumber. He was nice and called AHS to transfer the ticket. No AC from Friday to Monday due to fear it would leak again. Plumber showed me the clog in the AC line and cleaned it out.

My 1st experience was bad because I had to wait a week to get an air condition tech. It was over 90 in my house. I had to call a private company because I feared for my health and my dog. My 2nd experience with AHS was great. Plumber came in a reasonable time and did a great job.

AHS and its interface are much better than they used to, but the service technicians tend to be lower quality and do the bare minimum and, of course, switch all insurance, things are not covered when I was expecting them to be.

3 of 4 issues are resolved, shower I am told needs new parts and plumber didnt take enough pictures to order the right parts, a week had gone by with no word so i called the plumber and they told me he has to come back out to take more pictures to order the right parts then wait for that to be delivered to finish the job, problem is i called them for an update they did not communicate with me.

I have hand mostly good work done except for my air conditioner in 2021. It's been a year and they have just ignored the mess. Have to go a private company to have it replaced. Between placer heating and air and Ams they couldn't decide what to do. From May to nearly July in the heat of summer. No help then told me I would get a by out. Never happened and the they still ignore me!
