Americor’s debt relief program helps with common creditors, banks, and delinquencies including, but not limited to, credit card debt, payday loans, medical debt, private student loans, lines of credit (LOCs), and personal business debts.

While the services outlined above are typically offered by most debt relief companies, Americor sets itself apart by also offering debt relief programs for auto repossessions, mortgage debt, tax debt, and cellular debt.

Simple Process

Americor offers a simple path to debt relief. You submit how much debt you have and the company provides you with available debt relief options.

Then, the company helps you apply for the right debt relief plan, and if accepted, you are enrolled and assigned a negotiator that will work to settle your debts with your creditors. Typically, negotiators are able to settle for 50–60 percent of the original balance.

After you have completed the program, you work to pay off your remaining, lower debts, and ultimately achieve a debt-free life.

Will I owe taxes on the amount of debt that is forgiven through a successful negotiation?

Some creditors may issue a 1099c for the amount of debt forgiven over $600. If this occurs, you may be able to file form 982 with your income tax return to offset any tax liability. Will I be able to enroll all of my debts in Americor's program?

No. The program focuses on unsecured debt like credit cards, medical bills, and personal loans. Loans that are secured by collateral such as your home or an automobile do not qualify for our program.

Can I negotiate my own debts?

The short answer is yes. It is possible for you to contact your creditors directly and negotiate your own debts. However, Americor negotiators have years of experience and direct relationships with creditors and collection agencies. Unless you are a skilled negotiator and extremely knowledgeable about the credit and collection industry, you may not be able to negotiate agreements as favorable as the ones Americor negotiators may reach on your behalf.

Who is holding the funds I save each month?


By law, all debt resolution providers are required to use an independent third-party payment processor to hold consumer funds while the consumer is enrolled in a debt resolution program. After enrolling in Americor's debt resolution program, the company will assist you in setting up a savings account with a licensed, third-party payment processor who will hold your savings funds and distribute all negotiated payments to your creditors in a timely manner. You are the owner of this account and you control all of the funds deposited and debited from the account.

Does a debt resolution program help repair my credit once I have completed the program?

No. Americor is not a credit repair company, and it does not offer credit repair services. However, negative items remain on your credit report for up to 84 months (7 years), so the sooner you are able to resolve your debts, the sooner you will be able to rebuild your credit with new credit accounts and timely payments.

Does a debt resolution program affect my credit score?

If you do not make timely minimum payments each month, or if you allow your credit cards to go into a charge-off status after six months of no payment, your credit score will be negatively impacted. This is true whether you enroll in a debt resolution program or not. The sooner you are able to resolve your delinquent accounts or negotiate a repayment plan for less than you owe, the sooner negative items will begin to not be factored into your credit score and the sooner you will be able to begin to rebuild your credit.

How long does it take to complete a debt resolution program?

While each person’s situation is unique, and it is dependent on how much debt you enroll and how fast you can save, Americor clients are typically able to complete a debt resolution program in 24 to 48 months.

How long does it take before I typically see results?

Clients typically see their first account resolved in four to seven months.

Can Americor guarantee all of my debts will be successfully negotiated through its program?

Americor will not enroll a creditor that the company has not successfully negotiated with. Part of the enrollment process is to determine which of your creditors Americor can and can not enroll. Americor has been successful negotiating debts by most all credit card companies since 2009.

How are fees charged and paid in a debt resolution program?

Americor never charges a fee until it is able to successfully resolve one of your accounts. When the company receives an offer from one of your creditors, it will submit a written agreement to you for your review and approval. Americor's fees are then paid on a prorated basis once the settlement payment is made.

The representative they spoke to me or listen to anything I say she has her own viewpoint of everything. I told her I was not computer literate she told me I must be. I’ll get somebody in my family to help me out. I told her I was the only child and working alone, and I didn’t have anybody to help me, but she insisted on doing things her way and did not help me at all. I was very disappointing and I still am and I don’t know what to do. I was trying to submit another dip, but she would not listen to me at all.

Horrible communication! I was served a judgement and tried so hard to get to someone who could help pay this bill 1st and NO ONE was available to help! Now I'm stuck in the program and wish I went a different route. There is literally ZERO communication with what's going on with my account. Especially when stuff like this arises. It's been over a year and 3 accounts are still listed as not settled. What happened was, they assumed I was going to take the Credit 9 loan, which I didn't because my payment would've been $150 higher than what I'm shelling out now. This would have really hurt my budget so I declined and now it seems my account is at a standstill, other than the money going to creditors who have already agreed to settle. I just wish there was a way to talk to the person handling my account. It seems like they are doing a really horrible job at it.

I don’t think that full disclosure was made to me about accepting the loan option; that the loan is 5 years and what the interest rate would be. In fact a representative said the payment would be only slightly higher than I would pay if I stayed with the 4-year plan. Now I’m paying $250 every 2 weeks, when I was paying $187 every 2 weeks, and now I’m stuck in a 5 year loan with high payments. I really wish I could switch back to the 4-year plan. Also, the loan has not affected my credit score in a positive way when I took out the loan. It seems that Credit 9 has not completely paid back all my cards and is using the higher payments of the loan to pay them off slowly! This is not what I thought I would get by accepting the loan! Very disappointed.

Like I explained to customer service yesterday. We are starting o the wrong foot . I am not happy with the sales Agent Dash . I feel like he scammed me. He withdrew money prematurely, I explain the money won’t be in my acct. it has left me financially in a bind for 2wks . Plus am disabled, lack of sleep and Eli aged my blood pressure too levels that was detrimental to my health . Customer service told me I don’t have to deal with him . A little while later he left a message saying I am sorry. I didn’t want to hear it . I came to Americor for help . I am hit upset . Employees like Dash give companies l a bad reputation. I instructed customer service t Listen to the rsupposed recorded conversation . I was ver clear that there was no money in the account until the 3rd We’d of every month , he still wet forward with the premature withdrawal . Unfortunately I am still upset and Andy because of the financial position it caused me , which wasn’t good to begin with .i recommend anyone that is dealing with Dah the are better off hanging up . I am a very unhappy and disturbed with this whole incident.Especially costumer service told me I won’t have to deal with him . He calls me back and leaves a message of an apology. I am sorry doesn’t help me with the position he has left me with .. I really think the CEO of Americor . Should made aware of this From the begging I was very honest with the situation I am in .Instead of on long road I am still upset, I put off this review but after I couldn’t sleep I decided , to give my opinion .

If I could give them less than one star, I would. Please read this review in it's entirety: 1) RED FLAG #1: I found their sales tactics to be misleading. In my experience, just about everything they told me when they hard-sold me into their program turned out to be completely and utterly false. 2) RED FLAG #2: They made false claims to me about a consolidation loan. I spent 9 months in the program and - big surprise - I never once received a single offer for their consolidation loan. When I asked them about this, their response was 'sorry you were misinformed'. So they acknowledged they misled me but won't do anything about it. Just wow. 3) RED FLAG #3: I believe they slow-walk negotiations with your creditors so you stay in the program longer. I had over 14 accounts that were part of the consolidation program. They settled only 2. The other 12 never received ONE single contact from Americor to negotiate or even discuss my account with each. How do I know this? Because I called those creditors myself, and over the span of just 17 days I managed to negotiate settlements on my own with 9 of my remaining 12 creditors (for less than 30% of the remaining balances). I did in 17 days what Americor couldn't do in 9 months. 4) RED FLAG #4: You can't speak with anyone handling your negotiations. Have a question about settling a specific debt? Got a creditor sending you letters saying they willing to negotiate your balance? Good luck trying to talk to anyone at Americor who can help you. You are ON YOUR OWN (heaven help you if a creditor sues you - Americor will do literally nothing to assist you). 5) RED FLAG #5: Cancellation is very difficult. They hide the process to cancel, and once you figure it out they carpet-bomb you with emails and calls trying to convince you not to cancel. I had to tell their phone agent 5 times to cancel me from the program until he finally tapped out and said he would. RED FLAG #6: They re-enroll you after you cancel without your permission. After I cancelled their program, I received a call from Patricia at their office to inquire why. I told her I decided to negotiate my debts on my own (which turned out to work much better than using Americor). Without telling me, she re-enrolled me back into their program without my permission (and I only found out because Americor sent me an email welcoming me BACK into their program later that same day!) That's called Fraud, folks. Summary: If you have a few debts with some major credit card companies or lenders, and your balances are under $20k, and you're either too afraid or too intimidated to talk with your creditors on your own to negotiate down your balances, Americor could be a good option for you: They might get some debts settled for you while they bleed you out of a LOT of fees you could have saved if you did it yourself. However, if you know how to use a phone, have an IQ higher than a squirrel, aren't scared to talk with your creditors directly, and can handle negotiations 101, then let my experience be your guide: You don't need Americor - you can settled your debts on your own and save a TON of fees you would pay to a company like Americor. Moreover, Americor (specifically) is not an ethical organization (just google 'Americor Lawsuits' and you'll see for yourself). I strongly recommend you do NOT work with Americor. And don't just take my word for it - do your own research. Do your own due diligence. And then ask yourself the obvious question: Do you REALLY want to do business with a company that admits to using misleading sales tactics, that admits they deliberately delay negotiations with creditors, that admits they misrepresent to customers about consolidation loans - and who will fraudulently re-enroll you back into their program after you cancel? Can't say you weren't warned to stay away.

Lied to by the first person to call me and split in half my debt then add there thousands on to it plus you can't pay your bills for 6 months so that interest and missed payments and penalties have put it back to the same number I had. I have never been se disappointed working with a debt solutions program. The guy who sold me in the whole program said he would be there through the entire process for me and be a point of contact. When I called he never returned my calls and the general help line was slow as molasses to get anything done. It seemed like their main concern was to get me signed up for a loan through credit 9. They didn’t want to help me figure out how to pay it off early, in fact I believe they dragged their feet intentionally so that I couldn’t. In the end it did not

When I was already a month away from finishing my last debt, they extended the term to 24 more months, I accepted that I had no other option and they changed it again to 36 months, their customer service is terrible, no one could help me solve it my problem even though I called several times and spoke to different people. You can and should do it on your own if you really want to save your hard earned money. One example of how in the long run you will be better off doing it on your own…..I had a bill that is $2,312 after your account is almost in collections they negotiated it to $1,200. Sounds like I’m winning but Americor is charging me $578 for the privilege of messing my credit up. You add that to the $1200 I have to pay and your saving is about not actually $1100 it’s more like $500-$600 but your credit is ruined. Do yourself a favor and call your credit card company and work with them directly. Do it on the begging of your hardship. You will save yourself money and save your credit. Americor will ruin your credit it’s the only negotiating they will do. If your credit is important don’t use them…:if you don’t care and want to save money don’t use them. Negotiate on your own they are more than willing to work with you….

Terrible company! Nothings explained, you never can get on the app to check nothing, they contact you CONSTANTLY, they don't help with majority of debts, and after 48 months you only save like less than 10% of your debt! So saving a couple of thousand, with me only $1600, you still have to do alot of fixing yourself for the stuff they can't do! So why do I pay them all those fees...obviously not to save money! Not to have less stress! Not to fix your credit quick to get out of debt! Alot of people said why you paying them to do exactly what you can do yourself for free?! Well its my fault for hiring a company and blindly trusting in them and not reading the WHOLE CONTRACT/FINE PRINT! DONT HIRE THEM THEIR RIP OFFS!

This can cost more than paying off your creditors. You get months of late fees and when an account is settled its for the amount you owed before the late charges were added so it is no savings. Also it is not explained that they take more in their fees than they pay your creditors every month. It is also not clearly explained you have to pay taxes on what is written off from your creditors. The fees for this program monthly are not worth it.

Americor for me was a complete rip off I do not recommend them to anyone ever!!!! They tell you they will reduce your debt by 50% then add there 25% and then ruin your credit score and give you a consolidation loan at 25% interest so in all reality you are in the same amount or worse in debt than when you started save yourself the trouble and shop around better companies out there!

The communication was not sufficient with creditors which drove litigation on 1 debt and almost on another. The last creditor reached out to me due to non-responsiveness from Americor. Estimates of debt settlements were not accurate and not as good as advertised. For the final debt, Americor sent thousands of dollars without receiving the agreement in writing from the creditor. Americor says I will need to contact the creditor for the agreement (even though Americor sent all the other ones) and that they cannot provide it. So now I am doing part of their job for them and left with a questionable verbal agreement at best for the final "settlement". Americor should refund me the fee associated with this debt that was not managed properly.

They are Professional used car sales men. My payments right out the gate are scheduled for the wrong day. Of course they won’t stop the payment process and change it to the correct date so I’m at bank paying for a stop payment. I have called 3 times now about this today. Told the first lady I wanted to cancel the whole thing and she hung up on me. Second guy ALLEN basically did the same thing forcing me to listen to his closing spill before transferring to a music for about five minutes before the call just dropped. Called again and spoke to a lady took 45 minutes to get someone on the phone. Three calls, 1 hour and 30 minutes total And I can only cross my fingers and hope they actually close the account. They don’t relieve anything they just simply cause you more stress. I have a feeling that the majority of their five star reviews are bot Generated.

I waited on the phone for 30 minutes more than once to try and talk to someone. When I finally got to talk to someone they guaranteed me that it was cancelled and they would send me an e-mail. Well here it is the next day and I have not received an email. I just want this over. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

From Point A they are setting you up to get a VERY High Interest loan with their subsidiary Credit 9. They will sell you on the idea that you will pay less than you owe after they get settlements, take a length time that smashes your credit score, leaving you with no other options. I am sorry I entered an agreement with Americor.

When I spoke with the rep, I explained that my utilities were not included in my consolidation, and I could not stop their ACH automatic payments prior to their company's initial withdrawal. I asked that my consolidation payments not start until November. She said she understood, and would see what she could do. She put me on hold, then came back a bit later and said that I would be charged $49 for October and I could start regular ACH withdrawals in November. That did not happen. The 1st full payment was taken out the next day, causing the bank to pay my utilities, with over draft fees. Which is what I was trying to avoid. I wish I had put my foot down and not let the initial rep convince me that I would not find a better rate, if I waited. I was so upset after seeing my negative bank balance, that I had a cardiac episode and had to be rushed to the hospital. Just because no one listened to me, and allowed me to wait until November, when I knew I would have enough funds to cover what was not part of the consolidation.

Stay away from Americor they don't have your best interest at heart only there own,it's about making them money under the disguise of supposedly helping you get debt,they have hidden fees which they don't up front and they don't return phone calls,they making you feel like they are on your side but they are not, specifically if they put you in touch with their loan company Credit9, you will end up paying more money with there 27% interest rate on there loans which means you will be paying more money then if you where to just pay your creditors on your own take it from me I owned over $17,000 to my creditors and with their 27% interest rate I'll end up paying over $32,000 for the next 60 months,so please don't get involved with either company stay away

In the beginning things were going good, my rep Chris was very knowledgeable and helpful. Once I reviewed the documents, I realized I could probably handle things myself instead of using americor at this time. So I submitted my cancellation request and I received a call from Chris the same sales rep but this time he was definitely rude, he felt like this was a personal shot at him that I wanted to cancel my agreement, very argumentative and defensive. He was over talking me wouldn't let me speak just overall trashy, unpleasant, and unprofessional performance. At the time I was at working myself and we were slammed, and for me to step away to even answer the phone call was already me being nice because me and him spoke, but if I know it was going to be a disrespectful aggressive person on the other side of the phone I would've proceeded with working. In the beginning I wanted to try americor maybe later in the year if my new plan didn't work out but now I WILL NEVER USE AMERICOR NOR WILL I EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE!

You are, in effect, paying off your debt in 5-7 years with ZERO savings. On, say, $100,000 owed, they negotiate your debt by half ($50,000). They charge a flat fee of 25% of what you "saved". So, $25,000. Meanwhile, companies like Discover, they LEAVE ALONE and tell you NOT TO CONTACT them.... So for 18 months, you're accumulating 30% MORE in interest AND when they finally negotiate it down and add their fee, you've paid well over what the Discover debt started with. The lump sum "Loan" they offer in the end is at a rate equivalent to the rate the credit cards were that got you into this position in the first place..... However, they open their sales pitch with "Most people just get a personal loan with a much lower interest rate and pay our loan off." So, after 2 years or more of late/delinquent payments, credit score lower than you can imagine..... What bank in their right mind is going to give you a loan. They don't tell you any of that. The other is the "Make these monthly payments for 18 months and we then give you this loan...... 18 months go by, PERFECT payment record, "Sorry, you don't qualify for the loan." So, 32 MONTHS, and I finally qualify.... So, 18 months PLUS 14 months of compounded interest...... Feels good to pay $105,000 against $100,000 owed 6 years later and no credit..

This is the biggest bait and switch out there. I deposited $10,025 to Americor, they made $6,100 in payments, and took $3,400 in their fees and another $444 in fees to their bank. To clarify, I paid 61% in fees. This is directly from my Reliant (their holding bank) statement. In addition, Americor continuously calls you to add more to your ‘settlement” account, which I did. They waited for one of my creditors to sue me, then shrugged and told me to just pay it myself (I’m still paying that monthly by myself). They also lie about the length of the program. I was told per my deposit schedule it would be 18 months to complete the program. After 24 months, a lawsuit, and another creditor never being contacted, I cancelled. They sent the remainder of my account to a creditor under a different name than any I enrolled in the program. Find another company that doesn’t gouge you for a 61% fee.

In the beginning alot of pressure was taken off me knowing Americor was helping settle my debt to where I could pay it off in what they said would be 3 yrs. When it came to the line of credit to pay off settled debt, I was taken to the cleaners. What was $18,000 debt turned into a $24,000 debt which included 23% in interest. After 8 mos of not paying my regular debt, it was too late to back down. They had me right where they wanted me. I will not recommend Americor or any debt settlement agency. I'm sure they all work the same way.

It's been over two weeks and they have still been unable to setup my account. It's very hard to get a hold of any of their support and we keep getting emails and texts about how we need to upload documents but we can't access the system. When I call I have very unpleasant experiences with their own support. My wife is under the impression we've been scammed because they've already begun taking payments from our bank account.
