Well I initially purchased a watch for my son for Christmas but after setting it up we realized that he couldn’t Text , only using voice and he didn’t like that so he stopped using his watch. I reached out to customer service to ask for an upgrade to a phone and she gave me wrong information saying I couldn’t. Well, a few weeks later a customer service rep called Marceline sent me an email and went above and beyond to get me taken care of. I called customer service in need of support for my daughters’ account. Our service agent was really sweet. She also was pleasant but firm that she couldn’t share any information with me because I was not listed as an authorized user. It does seem like they have our kids safety first. I was really impressed actually that even with me having our order number, my girls Gabb numbers, etc, the service agent would not discuss account details with me until my partner cleared me with a PIN as an authorized user. We already loved the independence within boundaries that our Gabb watches have offered our 8 and 9 year olds. Now we appreciate the customer support too!

Over the last month our experience with gab customer service has been regulated to the chat online only. This was so frustrating of a way to communicate. Yesterday I received a phone number for customer service. Today I dial that number and spoke with a delightful young lady named Annie. And he was not only competent and understanding but she was also compassionate and gave me multiple ways to solve the problem. After what felt like knocking our heads against the wall to get our phone to work and he was our knight in shining gab armor. I am hopeful that the solutions she provided will not only work but will provide us with the service that we’ve come to expect from gab wireless. Gab is lucky to have a customer service employee like Annie who is kind, smart and compassionate

Two things went wrong. First of all, the phone stopped receiving messages and phone calls. The phone would turn on, but we could get no cellular service. Second, after I called to cancel the service, they charged $4.51 to the account for taxes owed. Because my credit card on file was canceled due to fraud, the payment for $4.51 was charged. I got a late fee of $10. Gabb refused to waive the late fee of $10. I had to pay $14.51 for $4.51 of taxes due. That is a late fee of over 200%. Ridiculous. This company has horrible service. Stay away!! UPDATE: Gabb called me back after they saw this review and they offered to waive the $10 fee. I really appreciate the responsiveness and desire to correct the wrong. I changed the stars to 3 from 1. I still did have issues with their cellular service, but at least the billing issue was resolved.

I am updating my review because a great representation of the gabb company finally reached out to me to not only fix my daughters service issues where texts weren’t coming or going through but we were able to come to a compromise regarding a replacement phone. Though it’s not the exact solution I was hoping for, it shows Gabb’s willingness to make their customers happy to keep them and I’m very grateful for that and will be staying with them like I had wanted to begin with. Our son had Gabb for a little over a year and it was just ok. The customer service was terrible. Couldn't reach someone most of the time and we had a REALLY difficult time to get the GPS tracking to work a lot of times! Our son would go with a friend for hours and we couldn't track him and wouldn't be able to reach anyone to help us fix it. I think if they could improve their customer service it would be a better company to go with. We had to switch to Apple for him so we could track him easily. The phone service was fine. Kind of expensive at $30-$35/month.

The people were nice, but referred me to different people. Sue called me back to update me, but no one else did so I had to keep calling and then explaining AGAIN what was going on. Then Jett told me on Friday to send pictures of my phone and they’d send out a new one, but he never did get back to me so I had to call again Monday and start over. Thankfully, the woman with whom I spoke today was able to get me set up with a new phone coming, but only after having me go through the whole process again. I have 5 hours of phone time into this and still won’t have a phone for work for at least another week to 10 days. I’m giving 3 stars only because people were nice, even the ones who didn’t follow through. Maybe you could work on communication between the associates so people don’t have to start at the beginning each time they talk to a new associate and to communicate with the customer. It would have been nice if, when they said they’d get back to me, they did. Thank you.

Customer Service is 5 stars, but the watch would be 2-3 stars! The battery drains quickly, it doesn’t have a 9-11 feature and have had several issues with the watch not charging on the dock. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips ie. wipe watch & charging base with an alcohol wipe, tried plugging into different outlets, had to change out the plug with my iPhone charger to get a charge, used a Q-tip to put pressure on the gold charging plates on the back of the watch to clean it; received a new watch and a new charger—but came on once. Therefore, not using it as often. I did receive a month credit since my warranty just expired and support did offer professional cleaning—but don’t want to cause a longer delay. It seems the shelf life is a year; before likely having to buy another one. I do like knowing where my son is when wearing ie. away camp trip, out jogging, school etc… but the battery needs charging daily. It does charge quickly—once it actually works.

Overall its a great idea for kids that aren't old enough for a phone. This allows my husband and I to keep in touch with her whether its walking home from school or going on a bike ride. She can also talk and text with her friends. Its not as user friendly mainly because i have an iphone. One thing i would say is make sure you back up your info. Its not an automatic function like the iphone when you are setting up the phone. Make sure you sign up for Gabb ID this will ensure back up. My daughter dropped and broke her phone. The process for getting a new phone was very easy but i was unaware of backing it up. Make sure you get insurance worth it!

The customer service call was answered quickly; the representative was friendly and helpful and I was able to understand her easily (she was obviously a fluent English speaker and familiar with how things are usually phrased in English, no confusing phrasing or unnecessary extra statements, just right to the point). She put us on hold just briefly so she could ask someone and found the answer to our question. At other times we have had to wait a long time for Gabb customer service to pick up the phone but this time we didn't.

If your child deletes text message you can’t see it as a parent. So you have no idea what they are texting to each other. Also, you can’t turn off text messaging altogether. Well they say you can but it might pop back on they can’t guarantee that if you choose it to be off that it won’t pop back on and you will have no idea when, knowing this I wanted out of the phone but they are forcing me to complete my year with them even though we are no longer using the phone at all. Bull, now when I want to cancel they will make me pay early cancellation contract fee. Absurd. Do not go to this company they have reps that do not help or no what they are talking about.

Perfect for your kids first phone. It’s a great way to teach them how to respond to a text message, answer a call, and be responsible for a device. Obviously, the fact that Gabb doesn’t have social media is awesome but teaching kids the the basics of having their own phone is important. We had a Gabb for 2 years and there were a few times it would glitch. It was pretty frustrating but the customer service was decent and helped us out. I’m a fan of Gabb and would recommend it to anyone looking into a beginner phone for your kiddos.

Reps repeatedly blamed me, insisting I either didn’t pay bill or put SIM in non-Gabb device, both untrue. Hundreds of customer service chats/emails/calls later, finally received new SIM (fixed hotline issue but not device issues), then eventually new device, came broken, 2nd new device, can no longer send pictures which option we pay for. Our 1-year contract ends in 2 months and we’ve had a working phone and service for only 4 months. Gabb has been a serious headache and a huge mistake.

Lost our watch (had since NOV)- understand i need to pay to replace it- but would be nice to get the 30% off deal- i already signed the 2 yr contact- why not take care of me- an existing and continuing customer? I purchased the gab phone because it would limit the phone contacts my children had and I could monitor text conversations to make sure the children were not being bullied since this has. Even an issue in the past. Absolutely not true! Could not limit the people in their contact list or block them. They could text and receive text and calls from anyone and I couldn’t monitor the conversation besides those that I was involved in. I attempted to contact customer support for three months via email, phone calls, and the on demand text on line. Could not get any one to respond. In addition you have to pay extra for their music app. After a year I decided to cancel the phone. It will cost $500 to cancel. When I mentioned the poor customer support I received the customer support agent accused me of using phony email address and phone numbers so the support agents could not help me. What? Don’t waste your money here . Just invest in other child friendly phone services.

The customer service was excellent. 2 of the 3 tech reps I spoke with were patient, helpful and were resolute in solving my GABB watch issues. Unfortunately, the product was a bust. Steps weren’t working reliably with one watch and location / tracking was not working with the other. Both techs (Dallas and Sapphire) were both rock stars in trying to help but- in the end it was the inferior product that lead me to discontinue service and return the watches.

The customer service is stellar. They are patient, competent, and thorough. However we have had multiple problems with the phones. They have always been accommodating in problem solving but it has required several hours on the phone on my part to address these problems. I think we finally have it all figured out but it has been a bit frustrating.

Great experience once I called. The only down fall was when we purchased the phone and were transferring the number from a different carrier, there was no instructions in the box for that. We have never had to do this, so we were not familiar knowing that we had to get a transfer pin number. The agent we spoke to was very helpful. She answered all of our questions and we were totally satisfied in the end thank you.

We really like Gabb for our kids, but the downside is the online chat feature, while sometimes helpful, can be a pain. It took fifteen minutes for the chat agent to understand. Maybe it was a communication issue on my part, but after the fifteen minutes, the chat agent reiterated what I already said. Products are fairly decent. My son doesn't like that he doesn't have an iphone or apps like his buddies, but that's a cross I'm willing to bear. Pricing is great.

We got Gabb phones for our two daughters last Christmas (ages 11 and 12). We had been holding off on getting them phones because of the distraction/addiction they can cause. Gabb phones have been great in that they allow us to call/text them when needed, but do not have the same attraction for kids to need to be on them all the time with apps and games. The girls don't love that they don't have iphones like their friends, but this has been a good stepping stone! I 100% recommend Gabb phones for your kids!
