Kids, like everyone, need a phone with reliable service. Gabb phones are built on the back of the nation’s most reliable network and offer great cell phone service coverage. Coverage is offered throughout the United States.

Hawaii is included in Gabb Wireless’ cell service coverage; however, the company does not currently offer any coverage in Alaska.

Reviews left on BestCompany.com consist of parents thanking Gabb Wireless for creating a mobile device that allows them to easily communicate with their children but doesn't include all the headaches or safety concerns that come with modern smartphones.  

In fact, most Gabb customers were extremely satisfied with the included apps and features installed on the phone, stating that it was just enough to entertain their child but not cause them to ignore the world around them. Other customers were happy with the phone and its long battery life (due to the fact that kids can't drain the battery on internet browsing or social media).

A number of reviews also mentioned the company's customer service. In particular, many customers felt that Gabb Wireless responded to their questions in a timely manner and often went above and beyond to help.

The pros: The service is good, never dropped calls. There are also no spam calls, which is awesome. I love all the parental controls, really the phone and what we need is great!! The cons: getting someone on the phone. It’s absolutely dreadful. We have been with Gabb now for a full year, and just upgraded the phone to the pro 3, and signed a 2 year contract. Oh my word! Getting a hold of people is unreal… you call, basically told, you need to call back. They need to invest in the call back system. I go on live chat, wait for hours, totally forget I was on chat, and then when they finally come on, it ends, because I’m not there. Emailing isn’t great either. If you are busy and overwhelmed, that awesome, hire more people. Because the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. Now when you actually get to someone, pray your call doesn’t drop!!! Yes, that happens and they don’t call you back!!! But they are very nice once you get them on the phone. Truly, there shouldn’t be many issues where you need to reach them- BUT when you do, it could be weeks (not kidding). We have two issues we can’t get resolved on our own, and we just have to “keep trying” to reach them!!!!

I previously left a review about the new Gabb Phone 3 Pro and the issues I was having. Kimberly from the company reached out to me personally to find out what the issues were. After listening to what I had to say she offered to send a replacement phone to me at no charge and credit my account. Although after getting the replacement phone it still had issues and was not working right and tech could not get this figured out, Kimberly worked with me every step of the way. After frustration I told her that I would just rather go back to my old z2 since it worked properly and wanted to keep the MMS as well. She worked with billing and though I couldn't get my old rate back she was able to get me a decent plan with the MMS & SMS and only on a month to month basis which is what I asked for. Overall I still like the company as I can see merits in the phone and the things that did work were great and helpful. Sad that the Gabb Phone 3 Pro had issues and hopefully they can get these worked out, but overall I am happy with the resolution that we came to and the support that I received from kimberly through the whole process.

This is an update to my previous review below. Gabb has contacted me to ask for advice on how to improve. I'm very impressed at how they valued my opinion and made real changes based on my input. I'm changing my review from a 1 star to a 3 star. I wish that they had 24/7 customer support. And I would like to be able to monitor my child's phone calls and text messages through my Gabb app. Instead I have to log in from a computer. Lastly, we have had to restart my son's phone twice in the one month that we've had it. Unclear instructions for setup. And I'm pretty good at stuff like this. "Internal Server Error" while trying to connect to my son's phone. No customer service in the evening or on Sunday at all. Buying accessories is almost impossible due to website errors.

I did a lot of research before going with a Gabb Watch 2. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase, but I am having some real issues with a key feature-- the STEP COUNTER. My son is very motivated by it, but it stopped working. A helpful and kind customer support rep helped resolve the issue on his watch, but now the step-count information from his watch is not syncing with my app. I was told that the only resolution that could work would be to unpair and re-pair the watch, a process that would require me to re-program all the contacts in the watch and also would erase many of the fun GABB-GO coins, pets, etc that my child has already worked toward. This is not a huge deal, but I am disappointed that there is not a better resolution. Also, how can I be assured that the same step-count issue won't happen again if I go through the trouble of unpairing and re-pairing? I would possibly have to do the same resolution all over again. Great watch, kind workers-- but some of the technology seems to fall short of expectations.

Two things went wrong. First of all, the phone stopped receiving messages and phone calls. The phone would turn on, but we could get no cellular service. Second, after I called to cancel the service, they charged $4.51 to the account for taxes owed. Because my credit card on file was canceled due to fraud, the payment for $4.51 was charged. I got a late fee of $10. Gabb refused to waive the late fee of $10. I had to pay $14.51 for $4.51 of taxes due. That is a late fee of over 200%. Ridiculous. This company has horrible service. Stay away!! UPDATE: Gabb called me back after they saw this review and they offered to waive the $10 fee. I really appreciate the responsiveness and desire to correct the wrong. I changed the stars to 3 from 1. I still did have issues with their cellular service, but at least the billing issue was resolved.

The people were nice, but referred me to different people. Sue called me back to update me, but no one else did so I had to keep calling and then explaining AGAIN what was going on. Then Jett told me on Friday to send pictures of my phone and they’d send out a new one, but he never did get back to me so I had to call again Monday and start over. Thankfully, the woman with whom I spoke today was able to get me set up with a new phone coming, but only after having me go through the whole process again. I have 5 hours of phone time into this and still won’t have a phone for work for at least another week to 10 days. I’m giving 3 stars only because people were nice, even the ones who didn’t follow through. Maybe you could work on communication between the associates so people don’t have to start at the beginning each time they talk to a new associate and to communicate with the customer. It would have been nice if, when they said they’d get back to me, they did. Thank you.

Customer Service is 5 stars, but the watch would be 2-3 stars! The battery drains quickly, it doesn’t have a 9-11 feature and have had several issues with the watch not charging on the dock. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips ie. wipe watch & charging base with an alcohol wipe, tried plugging into different outlets, had to change out the plug with my iPhone charger to get a charge, used a Q-tip to put pressure on the gold charging plates on the back of the watch to clean it; received a new watch and a new charger—but came on once. Therefore, not using it as often. I did receive a month credit since my warranty just expired and support did offer professional cleaning—but don’t want to cause a longer delay. It seems the shelf life is a year; before likely having to buy another one. I do like knowing where my son is when wearing ie. away camp trip, out jogging, school etc… but the battery needs charging daily. It does charge quickly—once it actually works.

The phone hardware is average as the whole point of Gabb is to have a simple trial phone for your kid. GPS location tracking app is not perfect but they have been improving it. Customer support was very proactive and helpful. Ultimately we decided we DID need more bells and whistles on a phone so chose to disconnect from Gabb in favor of another product. I would recommend for your child’s first phone.

Our son had Gabb for a little over a year and it was just ok. The customer service was terrible. Couldn't reach someone most of the time and we had a REALLY difficult time to get the GPS tracking to work a lot of times! Our son would go with a friend for hours and we couldn't track him and wouldn't be able to reach anyone to help us fix it. I think if they could improve their customer service it would be a better company to go with. We had to switch to Apple for him so we could track him easily. The phone service was fine. Kind of expensive at $30-$35/month.

I do not like that you are a communication company that does not offer a phone service to call to receive help when you are having technical difficulties. I realize that in this world we are constantly neing pushed towards the name of convenience but having a person to talk to on the phone is a much more natural process and should still be an option for helping customers.

The customer service is stellar. They are patient, competent, and thorough. However we have had multiple problems with the phones. They have always been accommodating in problem solving but it has required several hours on the phone on my part to address these problems. I think we finally have it all figured out but it has been a bit frustrating.

We've had the Watch phone for less than a month. It will no longer send text messages. There is no tech support over the weekend, so we waited until Monday for them to "reset the network". This did not fix the problem and support is not responding. Also, the battery life is terrible. My daughter barely uses the watch and it needs to be charged daily. Update: Support did finally fix the texting issue. The battery life is still marginal and the watch phone feels "fragile", no way it will last 2 years, but for now it meets our needs.

The bad: we bought the case and screen protector and screen has shattered twice and no warranty. I wish there was a way to get music without a computer but is what it is. The camera is not great quality. I like the app to see where my kids/phone are and i love keeping in touch with kids and not worrying. I have been a huge support, they need a better case or warranty on protective products.

The phone is great, I love it!! No complaints at all about the actual phone, however, my screen protector is horrible. I ordered the screen protector through Gabb and I've had it less than a month and it already has several cracks throughout the screen. Two of the biggest cracks I found after I'd been sitting down with the phone in my pocket, I wasn't even sitting on the phone! I didn't drop it either. I keep finding more and more cracks and I'm not dropping the phone or being violent with it.

Paid $30 for 2-day shipping and a week later it still hasn’t even shipped. When I reached out to customer service their only response was “we’ll update you as soon as possible” which was basically completely useless. Update: Received my first bill and they refunded the $30 shipping fee

Phone is good. Initially had lots of spam. Need some sort of app preinstalled like BARK to hep monitor kids usage. Too many emails from Gabb if you reach out to them for help. Need some sort of parental control for deleting texts or adding contacts.
