Two things went wrong. First of all, the phone stopped receiving messages and phone calls. The phone would turn on, but we could get no cellular service. Second, after I called to cancel the service, they charged $4.51 to the account for taxes owed. Because my credit card on file was canceled due to fraud, the payment for $4.51 was charged. I got a late fee of $10. Gabb refused to waive the late fee of $10. I had to pay $14.51 for $4.51 of taxes due. That is a late fee of over 200%. Ridiculous. This company has horrible service. Stay away!! UPDATE: Gabb called me back after they saw this review and they offered to waive the $10 fee. I really appreciate the responsiveness and desire to correct the wrong. I changed the stars to 3 from 1. I still did have issues with their cellular service, but at least the billing issue was resolved.

I am updating my review because a great representation of the gabb company finally reached out to me to not only fix my daughters service issues where texts weren’t coming or going through but we were able to come to a compromise regarding a replacement phone. Though it’s not the exact solution I was hoping for, it shows Gabb’s willingness to make their customers happy to keep them and I’m very grateful for that and will be staying with them like I had wanted to begin with. The people were nice, but referred me to different people. Sue called me back to update me, but no one else did so I had to keep calling and then explaining AGAIN what was going on. Then Jett told me on Friday to send pictures of my phone and they’d send out a new one, but he never did get back to me so I had to call again Monday and start over. Thankfully, the woman with whom I spoke today was able to get me set up with a new phone coming, but only after having me go through the whole process again. I have 5 hours of phone time into this and still won’t have a phone for work for at least another week to 10 days. I’m giving 3 stars only because people were nice, even the ones who didn’t follow through. Maybe you could work on communication between the associates so people don’t have to start at the beginning each time they talk to a new associate and to communicate with the customer. It would have been nice if, when they said they’d get back to me, they did. Thank you.

Customer Service is 5 stars, but the watch would be 2-3 stars! The battery drains quickly, it doesn’t have a 9-11 feature and have had several issues with the watch not charging on the dock. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips ie. wipe watch & charging base with an alcohol wipe, tried plugging into different outlets, had to change out the plug with my iPhone charger to get a charge, used a Q-tip to put pressure on the gold charging plates on the back of the watch to clean it; received a new watch and a new charger—but came on once. Therefore, not using it as often. I did receive a month credit since my warranty just expired and support did offer professional cleaning—but don’t want to cause a longer delay. It seems the shelf life is a year; before likely having to buy another one. I do like knowing where my son is when wearing ie. away camp trip, out jogging, school etc… but the battery needs charging daily. It does charge quickly—once it actually works.

Perfect for your kids first phone. It’s a great way to teach them how to respond to a text message, answer a call, and be responsible for a device. Obviously, the fact that Gabb doesn’t have social media is awesome but teaching kids the the basics of having their own phone is important. We had a Gabb for 2 years and there were a few times it would glitch. It was pretty frustrating but the customer service was decent and helped us out. I’m a fan of Gabb and would recommend it to anyone looking into a beginner phone for your kiddos.

Great experience once I called. The only down fall was when we purchased the phone and were transferring the number from a different carrier, there was no instructions in the box for that. We have never had to do this, so we were not familiar knowing that we had to get a transfer pin number. The agent we spoke to was very helpful. She answered all of our questions and we were totally satisfied in the end thank you.

We really like Gabb for our kids, but the downside is the online chat feature, while sometimes helpful, can be a pain. It took fifteen minutes for the chat agent to understand. Maybe it was a communication issue on my part, but after the fifteen minutes, the chat agent reiterated what I already said. Products are fairly decent. My son doesn't like that he doesn't have an iphone or apps like his buddies, but that's a cross I'm willing to bear. Pricing is great.

I love the customer service at Gabb. Also, I love that my teenager can use a device that looks like a smart phone for unlimited talk and text and I don't have to worry about internet dangers. My teenager is not 100 percent happy with the Gabb phone because every once in a while (around 2-3 times per week) he can't use the service, and in order to get it to work again he has to take the case apart, remove the SIM card, then replace the SIM card and case. He is grateful for a phone but feels that a phone should not have this issue.

Tried it out on kick start and it was everything a parent wants in a phone for a child handling their own phone for the first time. It has all the limits you want without all the fuss of trying to keep up with it. Their service has great connection and no problems in the local area where the kid needs it most. Customer service was great in navigating the really simple phone and their service and the price is perfect!

we pay for texting and music for my kids and neither work the app for one child, I have asked for help, to no avail.is horrible DO NOT SIGN a contract, BAIT and switch. very bad company- I paid for one child to get removed its that bad- the other one comes off christmas and I am paying for the other to get off. They have horrible customer service, never answer the phone emails are answered two weeks or more. Stay away and be happy I told you.

I am a disgruntled Gabb parent because the Gabb product is so utterly terrible. The software and programming used will frustrate you to no end. You will want to pull your hair out. Their customer service is so bad. Buyer beware. I cancelled my service within two months. I waited too long.

Pros: My daughter can make phone calls. Cons: Location services work maybe once a month. The rest of the time, it lags for an average of two weeks. I have reached out to customer service about it 15 times and never heard back. My daughter receives multiple junk calls a week. In summary, it's a phone but the safety functions are non existent. Don't believe the promises. You're better off with pretty much any other company.

Their system is ridiculous. I have no idea why anyone gives Gabb a good review. I have had nothing but problems and the IT support can do nothing but apologize for all the shortcomings. First my sons phone had been getting constant spam calls since I turned it on. I block all the numbers but they keep calling on different numbers. IT support said I can change the number, which I will be doing but I thought gabb guard was supposed to block at least some... after 50 + span calls yesterday, I am going to say it doesn't work at all. We'll see if changing the number does anything at all... Also, my son misplaced his phone today, which I had to put on vibrate because its constantly ringing from spam calls, and the "play sound" isn't working. IT support said nothing can be done without the device... WTF. So gabb guard and play sound to locate doesn't work... does anything? Also, the spam calls cannot be deleted from my phone or his so now he has dozens of random numbers on his recent calls list that he could call, because blocking doesn't stop his phone from calling them. How is this safe? This is the most ridiculous thing I've dealt with in years. I am going to review this everywhere I can and post all of these shortcomings so hopefully no one else gets blindsided with their incompetence!

We have had GABB for a few years but would never recommend it. We have it because we need it. But of the three watches we’ve had only one works. We’ve called multiple times to get a troubleshoot on them and the customer service is HORRIBLE! They ask a question and then they don’t give you time to respond and then when you do they cut you off and try to answer the question but they don’t have the full story. And then after 5 mins of trying to explain the issue they then say, sorry that’s for X department and transfer you. The gentlemen I spoke with today was rude and disrespectful. So we’re waiting for our agreement to end and then we’ll be done for good! I’m seditious looking for other devices for my children that work and have respectful employees.

Canceled service using their website after being a loyal customer for a year. After I did not receive a confirmation, I called customer service and they told me that the online cancellation takes 5 to 7 days. They said they could cancel it right away, but I would be charged for days that month. I told them that they see that I requested a cancellation on the 27th. They said yes they see it but I was going to be charged through the fourth first because it had not been processed. I said for $2.50 you just pissed off a loyal customer. BTW My daughter’s new Apple phone has more parental settings and security than Gabb could even imagine. I wish Imy daughters new Apple phone has more parental settings and security than Gabb could even imagine. I wish I would’ve known that before I subscribed to them for one year.

I purchased 3 phones for my children to call, text and geolocate. Call and text functions were slow, sound quality was muffled. Occasionally texts or calls would not even be received. This is absolutely unacceptable. I wanted to rely on Gabb to keep in touch with our children when they were away, alone or baby-sitting other children. When texts or calls are not completed all dependability is lost as the phone does reliably perform one of it's few functions. Furthermore, the location services for the phone does not work. Gabb location service indicates one of my daughters is still on our vacation in Canada from July 2023! When requesting any financial remuneration for poor services rendered upon cancellation, I was told we had not allowed Gabb the opportunity to fix the problems listed above, ergo not contractually entitled to any money back to make things right. Frankly, I do not trust they are competent enough to fix these problems and I would rather pay the early cancellation fee and move on to superior services. Do yourself a favor, purchase a "flip phone" for your child that works when you need it.

Phone worked for less than 4 months with light use. Total Junk. Terrible customer service. Music is not clean as advertised. Phone was glitchy from day one. They threatened to charge my payment method for multiple different things (the cost of the phone and a restock fee) for a phone that quit working without any accidents or damage and that they don't stock or carry anymore. Offered a replacement at full cost with an activation fee after I had been asked to provide 19 different photos of the non working phone and spent over 2 hours chatting with a rep. Ridiculous. Purposely chose the no contract option and I'm glad I did. This company is awful.

Worse experience ever! We got the pro 3 phone for our daughter for Easter and it’s been nothing but a headache. Setting up the device is way too cumbersome and not at all easy. Getting thru to customer service is a joke. The only option you really have is a “live” chat which I’ve used countless times and have never had my problem resolved. Told multiple times that they were working on figuring out the issue and would email me an update - and that has yet to happen. No response to emails AND don’t even try to call - they always have “a high call volume” and disconnect the call as there’s no option to leave a message. I several of my friends told me to avoid this nightmare and just buy an iPhone and utilize all of their many user-friendly parental controls, but I didn’t listen. This whole experience has been awful. And now, after reading all of the many negative reviews, I’m very concerned that it’s going to be another huge headache trying to cancel this terrible service.

We've been with Gabby for 2 years, the product has worked fine. The phone is large for how little it can do. In general the product would be fine for most. Their service/support is non-existent. If you try to call you get the message they are too busy, can't take any more calls so go read their website to answer any questions. And the phone hangs up. Unfortunately, you don't get an option to stay on hold waiting for anyone to help you. There is a "live chat " option that I've waited hours for and no luck and if they do message you back and you don't respond immediately they end your chat. We have sent emails requesting calls or communication with no luck. And they keep charging our account. I don't recommend starting with this company. There are plenty of other options open to parents now days

The idea behind this phone service is terrific. This company works well if you can set up your kids phone and then NEVER have an issue but that's not realistic. This company has grown too quickly to keep up and now they don't have any way for a parent call and speak to a customer service representative. They are great at getting new customers but treat their current customers like crap! They lock you in to their service and then say their too busy with high volumes of new customers to take phone calls at this time. What??!!! What Kind of phone service is this?! I have a billing issue that I have now emailed and reached out by phone and tech support with no help at all. Think twice if this kind of service is worth it. Now, I would just get a regular phone for my daughter's and use the parental controls!

Android parents beware! It is important to understand that there is a separate app (Gabb Messenger) used for the crucial parental controls (view/approve contacts and view text message content). This app is currently NOT AVAILABLE for Android users. The My Gabb app has very limited features. You can see your child's location and setup a Safe Zone (received notification if your child's phone moves outside a pre-defined area). The online website dashboard allows you to see your child's call and message log, but it does NOT display the actual message content. I contacted Gabb about the glaring issue, and they advised that an Android version of the Gabb Messenger is in the works, but no delivery date is available. They also refused any sort of bill credit or consideration and stated that the app has "nothing to do with monthly billing". This sounds absurd to me, but evidently their logic is that they offer the app for free? (But isn't the app worthless unless you have a Gabb device and plan?) Nevertheless, they further pointed out that the website notes that the Gabb Messenger app is only available for iOS (iPhones). This is true, but I would argue that 1) they eagerly promote these features as foundational to their product and 2) it is not clear that the Gabb Messenger app is necessary in order to have these important features. If were were iPhone users, we may be OK. But since we are not, we greatly regret having purchased Gabb. We would have opted for Bark. And the Gabb customer service chat was pathetic. The agent flatly refused to escalate my concern.

I bought my son a Gabb watch to be able to get in contact with him and to be able to locate him (and thus build trust). The location setting was not working. I spent a panicked hour trying to find my child, following his continually moving location on my phone. I finally went to where he was supposed to be only to find him there with his watch in his bag, not moving, not 1/4 - 1/2 mile down the road or in the woods or in some strangers house (all of which showed up as his location during the hour of trying to find him). This is wholly unacceptable. This watch is supposed to help us feel safe and not put me in a panic thinking my child has been abducted or is being rotten. And the only way to MAYBE fix the problem is to unpair and repair...wiping all the history, contacts, lock modes, etc. that we set up (which we have already had to do twice before in the 15 months we've had the watch for other reasons). I am really really unhappy, and I unhappy with the way finding a potential resolution (because who knows if this will actually work...do I trust the location ever again?) was presented. Terrible "customer service." Major problem if the location settings can't be trusted.
