Optima Tax Relief saved my financial life in a really big way! After accruing over $30000 in tax liability from several years of being self employed / 1099, and not being able to keep up with the increase in my annual returns from the added self employment tax, I had no idea how to dig myself out of the hole. I started receiving collection letters from the IRS, and had a tax lien filed against me. I finally decided to call Optima Tax Relief after hearing commercials about them on the radio. They handled my case expertly, pulling my records from the IRS, invoking power of attorney to protect me, and working with the IRS to create a settlement that worked for me. When all was said and done, I ended up with a total settlement of approximately 10% of my total liability, which included my payment to Optima for their services. I absolutely couldn't be happier, and feel like an immense weight has been lifted from my shoulders!!! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing help with tax issues.

It is a horrific burden when you, for whatever reason or reasons, have not paid back taxes. Letters from the IRS can be scary, and you even think of the possibility of losing so much if those taxes are not paid. I called several agencies I thought could help me with a plan to pay my back taxes, but either they did not call back or wanted a huge sum of money. I must say that after I contacted Optima Tax Relief, the burden was lifted. I was impressed with their professionalism and the structure they have in place for solving my tax problem. Burden lifted and a payment plan is now in place. Highly recommended for their attention to detail and overall professionalism.

After receiving a letter from the IRS saying that I owe an substantial amount of money to them, and I didn't know how I was going to repay them. I was riding home and I heard an announcement on the radio regarding a company that could help me out with my debt. I'm very grateful it was suggested I use Optima Tax Relief for my tax concerns. From the start they were very professional, and always will to help as well as being available when needed, and quite courteous. As I'm sure most people are I was very concerned about my situation, but they alleviated my fears and were very supportive. I worked with a number of different Optima associates during the process and they all were great, and always able to give me the answers needed as well as alleviating all of my concern. When the final outcome came to pass I was overjoyed as the compromise they came to with the IRS was unbelievably great. A tremendous weight was taken off of my shoulders and on cloud 9 from the outcome. I believe I contacted them in September or October of last year. Becky was my case manager but I did have contact with a few other representatives. I really thought I would end up owing the IRS a lot of money because of me not filing my taxes. Also I thought it was going to take a really long time. In my first couple of phone calls with Optima they explained the entire process and how long it should take. I couldn't believe it would take roughly 3 to 4 months. My phone calls were always returned promptly along with my emails. After all my past tax returns were filed I received TWO refunds. One for prior years and the one for the current year. I will NEVER allow myself to be in such a situation. I would recommend this Optima to anyone in a similar position.

I’m writing this second Reviews because I’m so disappointed & upset of this Optima Tax Relief company., I’ve paid all my fee for their Service ( total is $1,500) .. my first review was wrote all my problem about this Company. They still not solve anything about my problem. At first I’ve been told that my Tax is solved., you’re is clear & clean. The IRS will get your tax return back., I don’t owe anything from IRS. Now the State tax sends to me the letter that said I’m owed them some money that I have to pay… and now the Optima Tax Relief turn to me and say “ nothing We can do” you have to go to different company they will take care for you!!! All these times I’ve been waited for 7 month’s for them to solved my problem but they just give up on me. After I’ve send to them a letter from IRS. . One of the Lady name Leah K call me and offer $200 for Courtesy refund for the the troubles & all the times I’m been waited.. which is they don’t want to help me anymore.!! I told that lady I don’t want the money.. I just want the Company solves my problem just like the first Gentleman told me that they will solve it & told me don’t worry you’re in the good hands, your case is very small case & we will take care for you!! How do you think that you are been waited for long 7 months with the small case like this & they been Treated you like this. You’re loose thousands of dollars & end up nothing.!!!!:(( I don’t want it happen like this to the others people… it’s not worth it.!!!! Very Sad.!!

Resolution process is still ongoing and original Trax reason I approached Optima was because of a prior tax issue about gambling winnings. Nothing was done was the reason why that the IRS had already set the resolution. I was wondering about a refile if anything.

I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED. I STARTED WITH IRS AUDIT LAST 12/2021. IRS PENALIZED ME WITH $30K PLUS FOR MY 2017, 2018, 2019 TAXES. SO I SEEK OTR FOR HELP AND THEY PROMISED TO HELP ME LOWER MY LIABILITIES. I SIGNED THE CONTRACT PAYING THE OTR $5K PLUS ALMOST $500 INITIAL FEES. ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, I ALSO HAD MY 2020 TAXES DONE BY MY TAS PREPARER LOCALLY AND I WAST ASSESSED TO OWED ABOUT $7,500 FOR 2020 (WITHDRAWAL FOR MY 401K). THEN ON 5/5/2021, OTR INFORMED ME THEY COME UP WITH RESOLUTIONS THAT I HAVE TO PAY THE IRS $45K WITH $670.00 MONTH INSTALLMENTS FOR 6 YEARS. HOW DID I ENDED UP OWING THE IRS MORE THAN I FIRST STARTED. IF ONLY I AGREED WITH THE IRS IN THE FIRST PLACE AND PAY THEM INSTALLMENTS FOR $30K PLUS MY YEAR 2020 TAXES ($7,500) YET STILL THE TOTAL I WOULD HAVE OWED TO IRS IS NOT $45K AND WONT BE $670 MONTH. I'M WILLING TO PAY BUT I EXPECT THE OTR WHO REPRESENTS MY CASE TO AT LEAST HAVE NEGOTIATE WITH THE IRS FOR LOWER MONTHLY PAYMENTS INSTEAD.

I had to pay $5000 up front and I didn’t get any reduction and can’t afford to pay but I’m on a payment plan also when they filed my 2019 taxes they had to amend them in Dec because they didn’t include the healthcare subsidies and I sent them my 1090 i time to file. Also never got a copy of my 2019 state taxes and JUST found out( March 2021) that I was supposed to send the copy in myself but never got a copy. So now I’m waiting for a copy to be sent to me. Just talked to Becky on phone from optima last week. Waiting for the copy. I never got a copy in my portal. I thought they had sent them into state. So if I send the 2019 North Carolina taxes in now assuming I get a copy from optima soon then I might owe fees and penalties. It was not my mistake. I will be calling NC department of revenue to see what I can do about this. A reduction in my taxes with the help of optima would have been helpful since I’m on a low income with medical bills etc. so the only thing I paid $5000 for was some protection from IRS garnishing. I could have worked with them myself. I will not recommend Optima tax to anyone.
