I was told the $495 was for an "inspection" and that they would come up with a resolution plan based on the findings. This "inspection" was simply reading the forms I uploaded. The "resolution plan" was the same bullet points of the same generic "plan" that they laid out before I paid them, not an actual plan. They wait to schedule the follow-up consultation until after the "15-day money back policy" expires, then give you no new information until you pay them more. They would not actually proceed with any real resolution until I paid them thousands of dollars despite telling me otherwise. The cost to move forward was more expensive than the tax debt payments themselves. Theft and deception seem to be part of the business model. Do not waste your time or money!

They were unclear about everything. I wound up paying almost as much as if I would have done it myself. The response from them was slow. They tried to get me set up on a payment plan with the IRS after I had already paid the tax bill that was sent. I didn't have enough time to forward it before it was due. Main problem was the being able to understand what was being said during calls. Sounded like gibberish.

On an individual level with team members… optima is great. Technology has been poor … nearly impossible to to schedule an appointment, numerous ongoing appointment requests for dates in past versus future. I’m deeply frustrated with my initial contact Chuck for not including representation for California franchise tax board. This was the PRIMARY resin for me hiring Optima. I’m assured throughout my process I have state representation, yet find out 17 months later in final resolution that I’m fact I DO NOT HAVE STATE REPRESENTATION. furthermore I wait weeks at a time to get updates, and I get verbal confirmation from numerous employees that my state debt is being addressed. It is beyond frustrating and disappointing I have invested 17 months of my life and over $6,000 dollars to find a solution but still find myself on the exact square one I was on when I first called Optima when California franchise tax board was garnishing my wages in the first place. I truly hope I’m not scammed and I hope someone at Optima can uphold up their verbal promises to me.

I am still in process with Optima. So far my experience has been good. But that could change based on the result of my resolution. Their services are pretty expensive and so far it’s been great. Things seemed to be going well, however, 2 months ago the IRS put a levy on my bank account and I had to send in paperwork and do a few other steps to have the money put back into my account. Upon finishing this step, I was told by my Optima rep that the levy was lifted and I did not have to worry about that happening again. And then the other day it happened again, when I am away from home doing training for work nonetheless, and I have not been able to get a straight answer from Optima why this happened when I was specifically told nothing like that would happen again. I am now waiting to hear from a tax pro who is supposed to get in touch with the IRS agent so I can have the funds placed back, yet I have been calling for 2 days with no real response to what is going on.

It seems very slow going. We are going on 4-5 months now with no resolution and very little communication about the progress being made. I know both OTR and the IRS are extremely busy right now, but status updates would be nice, so I don't feel as though I have been forgotten. My ratings are sort of middle of the road because I can't comment or provide higher scores until after my case has been settled at which point I would probably give them higher marks.
