To fit customer needs, Sunrun offers several solar financing options, including solar lease, Power Purchase Agreement (PPAs), prepayment, outright purchase, and solar loan.

After you sign your Sunrun agreement, you’re ready for solar panel installation. The best part? You don’t have to lift a finger because we take care of everything from scheduling to submitting permits, to working with the city and utility, and securing your solar panels to your roof. Naturally you’ll have questions, and we’ll be right there with you answering them every step of the way. Once you’re approved for a Sunrun solar installation, your home will undergo a site assessment and an expert solar technician will visit your home to confirm your system design. After that, our solar design experts make any necessary adjustments to your design and get your final approval. Once you’ve approved your system design, we submit your design to the city for permitting. From there, either Sunrun or one of our local certified partners perform your solar installation. We only partner with the top-rated solar installers, so know you’ll have the highest quality solar installation available. When your installation is complete, the city or county will perform a final inspection on your system. Once it’s approved, it will be connected to the grid, and we’ll submit your documents to the utility company. You will have a team of experts working for you during this time who handle the tasks necessary for a smooth solar installation and keep you updated along the way. Our customer app also allows you to see your installation status during this time: - Conduct a site survey to look at your roof, attic and electrical panel - Finalize your custom design - Apply for permits and wait for approval - Collect other necessary approvals and documentation that is specific to your neighborhood, such as HOA approval Your project coordinator will be in touch with you throughout this time to keep you up-to-date on your progress. When it comes time to install the system, your installation coordinator will let you know how long the construction process will take for your home.

Yes! We have a monitoring team dedicated to keeping an eye on your home solar system. Here’s how it works: - We record production (in real-time) — Your Sunrun meter counts your kilowatts as they’re produced. - We collect your production data (every six hours) — Four times a day, your Sunrun meter sends your production data to our Denver-based monitoring team, where all production data is collected, stored, and analyzed. - We evaluate your production (every day) — We compare your production to the estimates included in your contract to confirm that your system is working as expected. We also check the weather and other systems in your neighborhood to make sure you’re harvesting just as much sunshine as your neighbors. - We fix what needs fixing (if necessary) — If your system isn’t working as expected, we will identify the issue and rectify the situation. The service is great. In the summer of 2022 my electric bill jumped from $150's to almost $500 with Ameren. I immediately started looking into solar. After originally talking with a different company, what they offered was no where even close to matching the power I was using. So Sunrun looked at that plan and came back with a much better plan. My Next Ameren bill is $10 per the notification. I am making so much power even running my AC at 68° that my gas portion of my bill has also disappeared!

I was skeptical at first with some of the negative customer service reviews. But I have to say this was one of the best decisions I’ve made honestly, I pay less for electric and will continue to do so over the next 20 years plus, I got a battery bonus Rebate card of over $4000, I have a Tesla back up battery to power through any electrical outage and at zero cost whatsoever. My equipment has been running for almost a year with no issues and my electric bill from my power company has been in the negative for over six months. I can’t be happier.

A Good Experience! We pay only the monthly connection fee of about $9 to Xcel Energy. Our net meter has rolled backward 1970 kWh this past 12 month period. Our 12 month (366 day) production was only 83% of expected (sized) production, so glad we oversized it at 139% of previous 12 month usage. We strongly suggest that you oversize your system's number of panels. I calculate that the system will pay for itself in 12-13 years, not considering the investment value of the money we spent and could have otherwise have invested at current interest rates. Also consider getting a battery backup for when outages occur. Also suggest you obtain at least one quote for same size system from another reputable solar vendor.

My solar panel purchase from Sunrun was honestly the best product purchase experience I’ve ever had. The joke I’ve told my friends was that I wish SunRun also sold carpet, refrigerators, and cars!! Everything from my initial contact with Sunrun, where they explained everything in incredible detail through a screen share on my phone and when the time was right, explained each document I digitally signed. Then we were assigned a project manager, who did a fantastic job of keeping up with every last thing for us. We were given updates via text throughout the whole process, so I never wondered much longer it would be. When the installers came, there were some on the roof and some in the attic and others outside, putting the panels together. Despite a lot of work, they finished in a single day and they were extremely polite and even explained what the parts were and how they fit together. The app works incredibly well. The panels operate efficiently, we’ve never had a single technical glitch, and all we know is that our electric bill is immensely less than it was before the panels were installed. Getting solar panels was the best thing we ever did, and SunRun was the best company we could’ve picked to do it.

Everyone at Sunrun was a pleasure to work with. The sales process was informative and the salesperson Ryan W. worked very hard to ensure that all needs were met, both financially and operationally with the system. He even suggested an affordable way to get a Tesla whole-house battery backup system which has worked out great. The installation process was excellent. Sunrun discovered that our roof needed to be replaced and they took on the task of figuring out how to take that on themselves and do so at a lower price than we were able to find for a roof replacement when we looked into it ourselves. During the roof installation, a worker's ladder fell and damaged part of our front door and they immediately sent out an artisan to fix the damage perfectly. When we had some difficulty getting into the online portal, the whole team got involved to resolve my access. Sunrun came a few months after installation and fine-tuned the system (software I think) and the power savings is measurable as a result. Finally, from the recent heavy rains we had some water leaking through part of the roof and since Sunrun subcontracted the new roof installation, they "stepped-up" and took on the task and cost of getting that fixed under warranty. The point of everything above is that Sunrun is a different kind of vendor in that they are responsive to phone calls, responsive to emails, and treat every issue like it was their own personal house and own personal solar system. They have repeatedly taken responsibility to fix issues that have arisen. Every employee has been very pleasant to work with. Don't hesitate - sign up with this company!

We had a few mishaps along the way. But overall, we are very happy with the outcome on the looks from the street and how the system works. We are so glad to get the battery backup system. Happy to be saving money on electric from SCE, those bills were killing us. Our Rep Ryan really took care of us along the way, and we didn't pay a dime for any part of the system as it went up. Sunrun and I sort of helped each other . I couldn’t afford the cost of putting the panels on my roof myself so with their plan, I was able to put panels on my roof and share the electricity with them. They voted the cost of the panels and I got the benefit of a very low electric bill and when my panels need to be replaced, I would like them to do it again.

I am renting out my solar panels with a battery back up. With my son, daughter-in-law, their 5 kids that all live with me create a ton of electricity with all the TV’s, phones, tables, etc plugged in almost 24/7 was costing me a huge amount monthly. With SunRun’s solar panels, I am saving money every month! The electric went out a few days ago and the battery backup kicked on which was a relief! To date, Sunrun has performed as promised. Being skeptical in the beginning, we quickly became comfortable with the process and it was a “No Stess” experience. We were kept informed throughout all phases of the project right up to installation day. The install crew were very professional and made sure the property was clean and tidy at the end of every day. The design and layout look great with the triple black panels and best of all they are performing as indicated. All and all we are very happy with our system and the money we are saving with our energy bills which are $0.00 most months. An amazing company! Truly easy process with a kind, trustworthy team. Kyle was a wonderful first contact on our solar journey. He broke down all of the specs and pricing so we could understand and know we were making the right choice. He got us answers to our questions and adjusted things to meet our needs. I first contracted with Sunrun to design, stall and lease a solar array in 2013. The process was very straightforward and our solar panels were up and running in a few short months. The system was designed well and we owed $0 at each true up for a number of years. Once our adult son moved back home, I worked with Derek and Megan to expand the array. I was very satisfied with the excellent customer service they and other Sunrun colleagues demonstrated in designing and installing more panels. We are back to owing $0 at true up! I was also very impressed with Sunrun when I planned to replace my roof. They were on time and very efficient in removing all the panels and hardware and safely storing them onsite. Once the new roof was on, Sunrun was equally responsive in coming out to re-install all the hardware and panels and I was up and running shortly after.

Three years ago we applied for the Costco home roof solar panel program. The program was managed by SunRun. SunRun was remarkably ompetent and designed and installed our solar panel system. They coordinated with our local electric utility to provide a seemless transition from a utility based system to a primarily solar based system. Our monthly power bill dropped from about $200 to about $35 with no apparent change in the quality of service. We have operated at the lowest available utility bill thru summer and winter seasons. We were pleased and very surprised to realize that our solar panels fully offset our air conditioning power demand thru our complete mid-Florida use. We could not be more pleased with the SunRun work and the very pleasant support of its staff

Sunrun representative Blakeslee S. presented herself as very knowledgeable about her product. Unlike other I spoke with from other companies. Everything Blakeslee stated and indicated would happen did happen. She stayed on top of our installation and if an issue arose it was taken care of immediately. The electrician was very professional and made sure his work was neat and the installation looked good on the house. The solar panel installers were also very neat. Extremely fast and made sure the grounds were cleaned up. Once completed Blakeslee came to make sure the work was done and I was happy. I would recommend Sunrun to anyone e who is looking for solar.

My experience with SunRun and the techs was incredibly positive. The installation process was smooth and professional, with the crew taking care of all the details efficiently. Not only did they install the panels, but also a brand new electrical panel. Recently, we received our first electric bill and were pleasantly surprised to see it in the negative. This confirms that we are producing more electricity than we are using, just as SunRun promised. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the service and results.

We wanted to have solar for economics and care of planet, but could not afford a system. Sunrun made it easy to get on board. They assessed our property, and installed panels, which seem to have been maintenance -free for years. Our savings are moderate, but real, but we feel good to be contributing to the effort to shift energy to sustainable sources. Our monthly payments are easily deducted from our bank, and increase in small amounts year by year exactly as promised. Each month we get e-mails clearly describing the efficiency of our system and how much carbon it saves, and any time we have had an issue or question, (such as refinancing our mortgage) we have dealt with cheerful and expert customer service who helped us swiftly. We are very happy with our relationship with Sunrun after some years of signing on. At every step they delivered as promised and offered excellent support.

If I could give Sunrun "Zero" stars, that is what they deserve. This is the third residence with a Sunrun system. Started with them 2011. They are NOT the same company as far as service as in the past. Most recent system was installed October 2023. Nothing but trouble from the start. Inverter and battery replaced within a month. Battery was programed incorrectly and just exported its contents to the grid each night within 2 hours. Constantly called customer service and just got lip service and mis-information. System has now been completely down for two weeks. Still trying to get someone out. Appointments are scheduled but no one show up. Just given excuses but then told that my case was escalated to priority. Makes no difference. No help from regional or district managers.

I've been a member for 14 years, my system originally costed $54K and I've paid on it all this time. It has been down for 8 months with no repair happening anytime soon. All my efforts to get this system repaired has been in VAIN. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALTH WITH. I now just want out of my lease so I can move forward with another vendor. They claim I still owe $50K after 14 years of payment to get out of my lease for the last six years. NEVER USE SUNRUN. All they every say is it is escalated and for 8 months nothing happens. I am also very concern because I am on a well and must have electricity but where I live Edison can go down regularly and without solar I don't even have water. This situation does not even phase them.

This company deserves ZERO stars. I have been trying to reach someone regarding removal of the panels so that my roofer can install a new roof. NO ONE has called or emailed me back despite multiple attempts (more than 10 times) to get this service scheduled. This has been going on for several weeks. I have NEVER experienced such POOR customer service in my life. Sunrun apparently just wants to collect its monthly fees and is absolutely not interested in providing any customer services whatsoever. It is obvious that money and profits are the only thing Sunrun cares about. It is mind blowing how little they regard they hold for their customers. It is equally stunning how such a pathetic company was able to become the country's largest residential solar company. I'm certain there are many third-world companies worldwide that are providing infinitely better service than Sunrun. NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY BE WORSE. There is a very good reason why Sunrun consistently gets abysmal ratings on multiple consumer rating sites. Any 5-star reviews are highly suspect and are likely posted by company employees. I am completely regretting ever having heard of Sunrun and urge anyone considering signing up for Sunrun to AVOID SUNRUN LIKE THE PLAGUE. You'll thank me later. Trust me.

My service rep for SunRun told me at the beginning that I would get rebates on my gas bill from the battery. Found out that the battery they show on there web site (Tesla) is not the battery that was installed so know I get no rebate as promised. Only Tesla offers a gas rebate. I called up the rep and told him the problem and only THEN did he say that I was right, no rebate with the battery that was installed. False information just to get me to sign up with SUNRUN. If one looks on there website, one can clearly see that Tesla is shown as the battery used. Called up Sunrun and got no adequate answer to this problem. In other words, beware at what they say when signing up and get EVERYTHING in writing.

SunRun Solar representatives turned out to be a whole lot better than expected. After talking to neighbors with solar systems by far SunRun exceeds them. No issues from start to finish. Dates for preparation, installation and up and running were right on time as promised. Neighbors have taken over two years to get approved and running.

Currently doing a purchasing power agreement and it’s way cheaper than paying for solar that the electric company. People I know are paying over $500 a month for electricity and I’m only paying $160. Plus, I had no out of pocket expenses getting solar installed. Would highly recommend using Sunrun Solar.

Installation crew conscientious and clean. Listened and responded to feedback and suggestions. On-site crew explained all the equipment and operation details. Sunrun handled the local permit process. Also followed up after initial installation with a "how is it going" visit. Made one service call to correct issue detected remotely---without my having to contact them. So far trouble free, and I frequently have a negative balance from the electric company.

We weren't crazy about the sales rep that came to our house, but in spite of him we went ahead with the solar installation. They were easy to work with and until the installation was completed there was a single person to deal with if we had any questions or concerns. We had no electric bills in the summer months, but did have them in the winter. Having said that I also have to say we had a lot of cloudy days and more snow this past winter than usual.

Have had Sunrun for three years now and it’s worked great so far. A lower and predictable monthly bill; and the few times we’ve had blackouts, the back-up battery has kicked in nicely and we appear to be the only house on the block not sitting in the dark. The amount of money I pay each month is super! Have the app so can track my energy amounts and that my panels are working. Have had no need for customer service since installation. I like that Sunrun is constantly monitoring their equipment and will take care of it if anything goes wrong. My rep was super attentive until the system was all turned on and now I struggle to get a response to a question via text. I have yet to receive the money promised for referring a customer.

So far, we are very satisfied with SunRun. The sales representative, Elias, was very informative and spent a good deal of time with us explaining EVERYTHING. When we told him that we knew we would not qualify because we needed to replace our roof, Elias was quick to let us know that they work with several roofing companies and they could help us to replace our roof. He told us not to worry about getting quotes or any permits. Sunrun did all that for us saving us the hassle. The roofing company came to our home, right on time and they replaced our roof and facia boards quickly and were very professional. They also cleaned up the mess and hauled everything away. Sunrun also gave us some monetary assistance with the cost of the roof. During the whole process, Elias was in constant communication with us, letting us know what what going on and when the inspector was expected to show up. Everyone came right on time and the entire process went smoothly. We are still kind of new to the process, but so far we are greatly pleased with the results. I would highly recommend Sunrun to anyone considering solar. They are a great company- in many states-and if you look at all the reviews, you will see that most of them are 5-star.

I like the HUGE savings on my electric bill. I have only needed to contact customer service once and they were very helpful. I do not like how my electric company doesn't pay me but instead gives me a HUGE credit that I can only use for my electric bill. It would be nice if they either paid me or let me apply this credit towards my heating/gas bill with the same company.
