Customized Solar Systems

Simple Solar Process

Sunrun strives to make switching to clean energy as simple and hassle-free as possible for its customers. The rooftop solar provider saves time by taking care of everything from scheduling to permitting and allowing people to follow their installation progress through the mySunrun mobile app. The design and installation process is as follows:

  • Step 1: Sunrun's experienced technicians will visit, measure, and evaluate the home; ensure that a solar system is the right fit; and design a customized solar plan.

Prices are probably a little bit higher than some others but once you factor in everything I am quite impressed. Everything was finished extremely well, I had a neighbor put in solar form another company and that took as long as a week. They are very attentive and dealt with an issue with out homeowners association promptly. There are some glitches in the app and it's not really up to date but everything I purchased was state of the art.

For instillation they showed up when they said they would they and did it, I believe, in one day. They took all of the pictures of the roof tiles before they started they took another set after they finished and got it up and running and approved by electric. Then they came out and fixed any ones that were broken. They did everything professionally and right away. There were just a couple little items that came up but they were right on top of it.

When they take money out of the account they'll only do it on a certain date which that doesn't coincide with my social security. So, I have to pay extra in order to write a check or call in my payments because they can't take it out on the dates I would like. So far everything has worked perfectly. I had a solar system installed on my property in Jan. 2019. It was sold through Horizon Solar who is under contract with Sunrun. They came out to the house and laid it out and installed the system in about 3 days. Very professional. It was after they left the problems started. They told me that they were going to leave materials (5) 2"x 10"x 16' boards and a piece of metal trim 10' long in front of my property. They said a bigger truck would pick it next week. That was fine. I left the country and did not return till the first of May. While I was gone my neighbor was watching my home and taking in the mail. She contacted me at one point and said the sprinkler system for part of the yard was not working. I told her I would check it when I returned home. Went to get my mail the following day that I returned and noticed they had not removed the material from my property. I contacted the salesman about this and I also told him I had not received the Incentive Chk. For $1768.00 which was supposed to take 4 to 6 wks. to process and it was now more than 12 wks. The salesman said I would have to contact the head office. I thought maybe the sprinkler system was a stuck valve. Pulled the cover off the valves and turned on the system. Nothing, so I tapped each valve. The valve kicked in and I heard a rumble then water started shooting everywhere. Turned it off and that is when I found as I was digging that the pipes were all broken. They had filled the trench and I am guessing that I would have it fixed. Oh the concrete patch job they did on the side walk looks like crap also. I contacted Sunrun help desk and told my story to a person in that department. He said the incentive check was not part of Sunrun. He thought it was through the company they sub contract with. He did say they would contact Horizon Solar to find out what they were doing in regards to the removal of the material and repairs to the sprinkler system. Sent him and Horizon photos. I then called Horizon. They said the Incentive checks were now taking 8 to 12 wks. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Was told one would have to call me back & they never did. I also told both companies about the sprinkler system. They did have another company contact me saying they were a sub for Horizon and they would be out in 10 days to fix everything. A worker did show up. He said he was not told what was wrong. He said his truck was too small to remove the material & someone else would have to come with a bigger truck. We then went to where the sprinkler system was. I showed him where they had used the trenching machine and broken the pipes when they trenching. I have photos showing where they back filled the trench. It had settled and you can see where it went through the grass an into the flower bed and next to the main valve system for the sprinklers. What made me mad was they threw away the broken pieces and covered everything back up like nothing had happened. The guy could not figure how the pipes were connected and did not have the material to try and fix the system so he would have to come back. That was 4 wks. ago & have not seen him again. I have been watering everything with a hose which is a big job as it is a big yard. The salesmen brought the incentive check out on June 3rd. He saw what had happened said be patient. I have contacted an attorney and have an appointment to see if I can cancel the contract and have them remove their equipment. Have also contacted the better Business Bureau and am in the process of filing a complaint with them.

I started the evaluating process in November and signed a contract in December. design and plans were provided to me in also i n December. Work began 1st week in January with some roof tile replacement (at no cost to me) and panel/inverter install the within the next 2 weeks. There was a short lag time waiting for inspections from building dept. and city of Henderson. I was placed online by mid February and been cranking out kw's since. During this whole process , I was constantly kept informed of the install progress. To date , the system is producing the power that they promised and even extra. Since March , NV Energy owes me a power rebate. I couldn't be more satisfied. Be sure to request critter guards with the installation.

They will not get my business because they were rude and pushy! They contacted me and I asked to view their website and discuss with my husband. I said to give me a week initially and they got pushy wanting to give me a quote. I said that I will check out their website, discuss with my husband and then contact them. This was yesterday. The woman tried to insist on getting my information and I firmly said that I will not even entertain the idea if you don't stop pushing... well today I had 2 texts and 4 missed calls. My phone kept going off during a procedure! NOW YOU LOST MY BUSINESS AND I WILL NOT BE REFERRING.

The representative was very good at explaining everything and answering questions. He seemed very honest and did not do a "high pressure" sales pitch -- which I completely appreciated. I would highly recommend this company if you are shopping for solar.

We cancel the contract the same day after reading it. They scam you not giving technical info. You can't run an entire house with 3823 kwh. They want to sell you the $.135/kwh, not true, amps? to cover your use. PGE will have to supply it as usual, Beware, I fill sorry for the people that doesn't know about solar system and how it works.

I couldn't be more unhappy with this company! The reason we decided to sign up with this solar company is because their salesman assured us that if there were any issues with our system, it would be fixed immidently. This couldn't be more further from the truth. Two days after my panels were turned on, an error message appeared. We called the company to let them know. We were told that someone would call us back in two days. Two days later we were given an appointment for two WEEKS later! I put in a complaint to speak to a supervisor to address the fact that my system will not be looked at for two weeks. Not only did no one call me back, no one came to look at my system on my appointment date! When I called to speak to a supervisor I was finally given an appointment a week later. The person who came did not call us with any information. The next day the error light was on a again. That was June 6th. Today is June 12, still no word from SunRUn. When I complained about this to the supervisor I was told that he was unable to fix the problem and needed to come back with more people to help him. I asked when that appointment would be. I was then told that my expectations were too high for having the system fixed in a timely manner. I was told that they are a California based company and have little manpower in NY. That is the complete opposite of what I was told when I signed up. I still have no appointment date for when someone is going to fix my machine. My husband has had to reset the system everyday for the month that we had it. Stay away from this company!

Beware!!! When your panels stop producing power they won’t replace the bad panels. Sunrun will just tell you that your other panels will make up for it. Loss production is loss production!

we were told there would be "no monthly cost" to lease the panels for 20 years, that all expenses would be paid to install, that it would all be free. Once they get you hooked, they run your credit. Why run credit if its "Free" ? this company is endorsed as a vendor thru ComEd, so no respect for them either.
