Very happy with Sunpower solar panels and the installation by Freedom Solar. Our entire electricity bill for the first full 12 months with solar panels was only $199...that's for the entire year, not monthly. And we live in Texas! In a 3700 square foot two story house. Both Sunpower and Freedom Solar have been very responsive to any minor issues and updates to the system. Couldn't be happier and highly recommend both companies!

I selected SunPower because their panels were the highest rated for electric generation. I've had the system since September 2009. I've experienced no problems with the system to date. I didn't pay an electric bill until the last couple years (since installation, the lowest electric rates have almost doubled and the utility added grid charges). Even with that the yearly bill has been much less than what I used to pay in one month.

Sirs, I installed my SunPower 10-panel system in December 2010 and it has produced power continuously and steadily since that time. What has failed at least three times is the reporting system that lets me know how much power the system is producing. There is no alert or email reporting system (that I am aware of) that lets the customer know when this outage occurs other than going to the Sunpower Dashboard online and seeing that the reporting system is faulty. I do not view the dashboard on a frequent basis, so it can be months before I discover that the reporting system has failed. I would like to receive a timely email or text saying that the reporting system has failed. The second problem (that I am currently addressing with Revolusun), is that my power delivered to Hawaiian Electric (HECO) seems to have dropped in the last two months. My power delivery to HECO has been consistent and steady since system installation at the above date. I put in a trouble call to Revolusun on 9/21/18 and did not receive a return call. I then placed a follow-up call on 9/27/18 but also have not received a return call to assist me in troubleshooting the problem. Revolusun/SunPower should support its product a bit better. Thank you.

I have had no problems with SunPower and I leased it on my first house and am now buying the system on my new house. Reading the comments it appears the local installing Company appears to be the main problem. So I would suggest you take the time to investigate the installing company buy contacting you local electric company Solar representative. My installing company in Lake Havasu City AZ is Esmay Electric Company.

I agree with James, the panels are not the problem, the panels produce more power than most other panels. I moved into a brand new home in Murrieta Ca, 4 months ago once Edison gave sun power the permission to activate the system it took the local company that installed the equipment several attempts to do so, finally after many calls the system was activated, by 10 am in producing 2 kWh by noon its 3 kWh by 1 pm in rocking 3.5 or better until 5 pm then it drops to about 3 kWh. My electric bill this month was $ 3.00 dollars that’s only because I didn’t have a full month of usage, also when I use the air conditioner I look at the meter and I’m still sending power to the grid, so far I’m a happy camper

Purchased 12 panels from third party dealer Energy By Choice Northport, Long Island , NY. I have no complaints, From my initial phone call to finish was an good experience. Purchased outright, w/ the 25 yr. warranty for my home, produces the kilowatts it was designed to do. Pay $11.00 a month electric bill for utility access, and they pay me back $25.00 at the end of the cycle for overage. I make 1 payment of $110.00 for the year whats not to enjoy!!!

We have had a SunPower System installed for 3 years and we have nothing but outstanding comments to make. System has worked flawlessly and efficiently over the years meeting all our needs. Company salespeople and installers were just tremendous. SunPower provides routine daily and monthly monitoring with reports. System + panels are the best made in America. I can't say enough about the elimination of our energy bills and satisfying feeling of producing our own electricity. SunPower is just outstanding in service and equipment and staff!

I purchased my SunPower system over a year ago and have had no problems since the system installation. My electricity bill has been reduced to about $25.00 a month. Many of my neighbors with equal home size have twice the number of panels my system has. SunPower panels are very efficient and have a 25 year warranty. Easily one of the best systems out there.

I had an incredible experience with SunPower. They worked with me to figure out how many panels I needed and kept me informed on every step and completed each step as outlined and met with the inspector on each inspection. They got my work done from start to finish under a month. I love the 25 year warranty. This was an EXCELLENT experience from start to finish and great follow up on explaining my SCE bills and follow up to make sure I was getting everything I was expecting. This could not have been any better.

Sun Power installed my 12 panel 3.9 KW system 2 years ago. They designed the needed KW system perfectly and the net metering system has resulted in an electric cost of $10/month (the amount required to stay connected to the grid). I am saving $150/month which, as power costs increase, will recoup my total costs over 6 years at which time I will have free electric power. I like being my own power company!!

Research has indicated thatvSun Power Solar Panels are the best in the industry. Company who installed panels did a reasonably good job. However, before the end of the first year of service, had to call to get system down resolved. This occured 3 times over 4 month and replaced one inverter twice.. Finally had to completely rewire my panels and replace one inverter twice. Since then, have had flawless operation. Sun Power panels have provided 100% of my power for 4 years. Installer has went though Capter 11 and service has since degraded. Not happy with installers support since filing Chapter 11.

Installed system on my home roof in Dec 2016. The system has worked as promised. The system is producing more energy than I use which is great. The online monitoring system is awesome. I like the USA made panels which have more watts per panel than the typical China made panels which means less panels on the roof. I would recommend the dealer I used. Lodi, CA.

WE have had a great experience with SunPower!!! Pell is who they used for installation ...they did a fair job...broke more roof tiles then we would have liked but they reimbursed us for the damage. Customer service has been excellent anytime we have called our problem has been resolved pretty quick. Our monthly bill is what we were told no increases for anything else, and Edison only gets a couple bucks a month with our end of year bill under 300.00. all in all great experience..

Service is excellent. They kept me informed as we covered each step on installation and permitting. Regarding financing, I got a 10-yr loan that was almost the same monthly payment as my former electric bill. Service since installation is great (2 yrs in service). They are watching the performance. The communications module had some problems, but they were on top of reporting it and fixing it. No complaints.

I spoke with many and after listing to all the other companies shoot at each other in criticizing all the competitors, many of which actually handled Sunpower panels themselves, I went with the panel and the dealer who made the presentation that remained the most professional and provided me with the best communications! I love my system! I used a well reviewed company called Solar Concepts! A PHENOMINAL TEAM!

Reading down the recent reviews, I have to conclude that it's all about your local installer. Sunpower is a vertically integrated operation--you can't buy the parts and do it yourself. You have to contract with a Sunpower approved installer. In my case the installers were reasonably good. However, today both of them have gone on to other things. That suggests a problem within the corporation. My (nominally 2KW) system was turned on 6 years ago (June 16, 2011). Over that period of time it has produced about 200 KWH more than I have used. The remote monitor readout quit years ago, but it was totally superfluous anyway, so I have never bothered to get it fixed. After months of use here in Azusa, CA, I decided to spring for a Sunpower installation for my mother in Sierra Vista, AZ. Our experience there is similar to here; the panels and inverter seem to be rock solid and output seems to be as represented.

SunPower explained exactly how many panels I needed , where the panels were going to be placed and I received a 25 year warranty on panels and labor. All of my questions about how solar system worked were answered promptly. I especially like being able to access system and monitor usage online so I k now that system is working. I am not suppose to have to pay more than $37.00 a month for electricity. Bills have averaged $151.00 per mo. So far so good!

My solar system was installed 5 years ago in Bakersfield by "Sun Solar" utilizing Genuine SUNPOWER PANELS. It gets real hot here in Bakersfield. My typical former $ 500 to $800 per month Electric bills now average about $ 10. I keep my big house cool in the summer and save a fortune. I was a bit nervous before I tool the leap of faith and agreed to SOLAR> I am very Happy !

We had SunPower for approx. 4 1/2 years. The installation as done on time. The job was very professional and the installer was very friendly. At first we figured the pay out would be 10 years, now it looks like it will be closer to 8 years. ( we paid cash for our system). Have had a couple of minor issues with communications with the internet but was solved in a timely manner with NO cost to me. I would highly recommend SunPower to anyone.

Purchased Sun Power Panels 3 years ago and besides a few hic-ups with the installation, I am very satisfied. Renova Solar put them in and has followed through with cleaning the panels. Also very satisfied with the amount of savings in energy. We just have to keep the utilities out of our backyard. Would highly recommend. Palm Desert, California

I have a Sunpower solar system in place for roughly 1 yr. its a 12.81 KWP 42 panel system . We purchased it using grants and such through NYS. Our Company EmPower of Island Park NY did an outstanding job.. Fair pricing no gimmicks. Excellent engineering both UL & and power company were impressed.. 1 yr trouble free. peace of mind.. we generate power from sun up to sun down and we have and east west facing roof.. Highly recommended..

My house had 10 SP panels on it when I purchased it and I added another 20. The dealer was Baker Solar electric and I could not speak more highly of them. I was kept apprised of the process constantly and the installation was wonderful - no on roof pipes compared with a neighbor who used a different company and whose system looks awful. Highly recommended.

After researching several companies we decided to go with RESTART Solar for our 4KW PV system. We chose them for two main reasons: they use the best materials and components and they were very knowledgable and professional. First off they installed panels made by SunPower. The panels themselves are bit more expensive than other brands but they are American made and more efficient. The SunPower system delivers with 12 panels compared to overseas made panels needed up to 18 panels to deliver the same amount of power. That means you buy fewer panels and use your limited roof real estate more efficiently. Because you're buying fewer panels the total system cost is a little more but you get a much better product! installation looks great and everything was done properly with attention paid to how well it looked and how well it worked. Jon and Kyle guided us through the process and did everything from getting the permits to getting the inspection done after the installation. Our panels have now been producing sun energy for 6 months and we're very pleased with a “zero” SCE bill now! I can't say enough about our positive experience with installing SunPower panels from RESTART Solar!!!

The professionals at AES Sun Power in Chico, Ca were terrific from the initial sales call to the completed project! We had to put up a dedicated structure for the panels, and AES handled everything from the design through the construction. Each day, workers left the property in immaculate condition. Everyone was knowledgeable, patient with our questions, and very professional in every aspect of the work! They exceeded our expectations and we are very happy with the result.

The whole staff was very knowledgeable about the different systems out there without ever "bad talking" the competition. The installation was done in a timely manner and on time. The crew was awesome and made sure they left our property the same if not better than before the install. The customer service is great. Had a problem with the monitoring and a service tech was out within an hour and solved the problem. I would definitely recommend Sun Power to everyone! They are the best hands down.

Worst customer service ever. A panel is broken and then won't send a tech to fix it. They're too busy, understaffed and they don't care. Look elsewhere for a better company that has more techs to fix their products.

Initially we had no trouble with the company . That changed drastically when we needed the panels reinstalled after a new roof. It's been months now and they're still sitting in our garage. Every time we call, we get someone in the Philippines. Very frustrating to say the least. It's costing us a bunch of money now

I have had this product for 10 years and it still does not work as advertised. There is no support for this product. They put the panels in the shadow of a tree, broke tiles on my roof that cased leaks in my ceilings. Make sure you read every detail of the contract. They do not cover the installation for the life of the lease.

Actually 0 stars! Sunpower customer service SUCKS! Defective panels 2 days after installation, so far it’s been 50 days and they have no idea when it will be repaired or replaced. They also failed during the permitting process and it took them an additional month to get the standard approvals from the county. STAY AWAY!!!

SunPower manufactured my solar panels and incorporated the converters and all electrical components of my residential solar panel installation which has been working reliably and efficiently for over a year. They also arranged for the loan financing for my solar setup, which remains for 25 years at a low interest rate and monthly automatic payment. Their servicing of this loan has been good thus far. Finally, they provide a full, no deductible, 25 year warranty of the panels, which I have not had to use as of this date. I recommend SunPower for the quality of their equipment, warranty, and loan servicing. All transactions have been seamless so far.

Took for ever for install then Installers left trash all over. Worked for a while then the system went down and it’s been 11 months and counting. My “production guarantee” won’t be paid until the system is fixed so they keep billing me for a system that dosnt work and no lead time on repairs I now have double the electric bill because I’m paying the power company and SunPower

By far the worst company I have ever worked with. Do not use them. They will be professional up until installation, after installation if you need anything you are not able to be helped. I have had a leaking roof for 6 months due to their installation and they refuse to help me. They will not answer emails of phone calls, its just a never ending cycle of me trying to get help and resolution and they say the only person that can help is this Suzie however she is never in the office and if she does feel like responding she give you 24 hours to respond to her again or she closes ticket you and you restart. Worst company and this is by far causing my family to be scared of a roof cave in with no regard from this company!

It’s been absurd that my project has been delayed many times, and nobody is even on top of my project. My project started in October 2023, and yet today is March 26th, I’ve been waiting for more than half a year, it still hasn’t been accomplished yet. What’s worst, we failed the building department Inspection. The Sunpower guy didn’t even try to fix it and left in the middle of the process, and it’s been seven days I’ve never heard back from them again . It’s been a very stressful process. I have to try to contact them a few times a week just so I can get a hold of someone on top of my project, otherwise it’s being ignored. I’m investing $50,000 cash in the solar panel project, expecting it to be reliable and giving me a long-term benefit. Now I’m not sure with this type of irresponsible service, how much I can expect in the future. I suggest people to look elsewhere, I do not recommend Sunpower.

SunPower is unresponsive several times with my experience. I actually had to report them to the BBB for lack of communication and response. First, when they installed the solar panels, I had my home inspection that failed, and they needed to come back. Not a big deal, but they took forever to comeback, and I had to hound them to come back out and they had forgot the issues that needed corrected and took 3 visits to get it correct. Second, when I had a roof leak they did not respond for weeks and then it turned to months before I heard from them. I had to get my own contractor and fix the leak myself. I plan on selling my home and getting solar again and will not be using SunPower due to their lack of customer service. Also, my co-worker used SunPower and had a similar experience as I did. You can have a great product, but if you can respond or fix issues in a timely manner then the product doesn't matter.

I actually purchased solar panels from this company about 12 or 13 years ago and I was very happy I did so they worked as expected and the company was a pleasure to work with, in fact so much so that I had 5 of my friends contact them, all of which purchased their own. Sadly this all changed with the company a couple of years ago. My unit was no longer producing the power it should. I contacted SunPower and almost a year later they resolved the problem. Yes I said that right almost a year. But that isn't even the worse of it, their technician who replaced the faulty unit created a problem with the electrical that caused the main breaker on my house to burn out. At the time I did not realize that, plus it was in the middle of summer here in Arizona, 100 plus degrees. The electrician that did fix the problem had to disconnect the solar panels to do so. This cost me over $1000, which I have been trying to collect for over 6 months now. The company just flat out refuses to work with you. They haven't denied it, which they can't, but they haven't reimbursed me either. Sadly I have spoken with two others that purchased the solar panels which have had problems to where they are unwilling to work with them as well. This company has gone, at least to me, as gone from a good customer service company to an extremely poor one. At this point if you are looking for solar panels, which I believe are a good investment, I would definitely look elsewhere.

I contacted SunPower for customer service regarding the app not working correctly for the panels I purchased from them, 2 different times. They have yet to reply to my emails. Their communication about my project from start to finish was horrible. It took 5 months for the system to be installed from start to finish. I was also promised $750 from a promotion SunPower had going on for 1st time installers. I have yet to receive it.
