For first impressions, this was not a good one. My wife wants to drop you guys after the first visit. Not sure what type of treatment he used, whether it was liquid or granulated, but the guy was only here about 15-20 mins, never came inside the house or garage, left our side gate open(to which my dog could have gotten out), never got rid of the wasps I told and showed him about, didn’t clean off all of the eaves and never told me that he was actually done with everything. I assumed he was still here until my wife came home and asked about the exterminator. We have been loyal to mikes pest control and decided to give you guys a try because of what your sales guy showed us. If this does not get rectified I will consider this a breach of contract and cancel service.

We specifically signed up for one annual contract, yet Aptive continued, we called and spoke to your Chicago number we even turned away your field employee noting we only engaged services for one year yet we were charged. We called the Chicago number again and spoke to 2 different reps, they still wouldn't refund and transferred call to a 'manager' called Brandon who still could not resolve stating service was performed on the very day we turned away your field rep. Brandon stated the refund will need to be considered by the branch office, for which there is no different number than what is listed on your communications for Chicago and ended the call without resolution. We did get refunded but the experience with Aptive not good. Your field person should not have lied and your reps should have been equipped to handle the case.

First technician refuse to remove the wasp hive around the perimeter of our house. He said it’s workmans comp he’s ladder is not that long to reach the hive, make some good suggestions but that’s not my point. My point is to make at least some effort to remove but didn’t do it. Satisfied with the the other work he did but not the one that I’m asking.

A salesperson from Aptive Environmental came to my house on or near 8/20/18 and offered a service that would rid our property and home of insects and bugs such as box elder bugs, asian lady bugs, spiders, and wasps. They applied the first treatment and charged us an initial fee of $52.49. They then came out and applied their treatment on 9/17/18, 12/5/18, and 3/19/19 and charged $106.05 on each of those visits. After the 3/19/19 visit I called to cancel the service because I still had multitudes of Asian ladybugs and box elder bugs in and around my home and didn't want to waste any more money on this pointless service. I was told I had to pay for one more treatment per our contract, that I never received a copy of, or I would be billed an "Early Termination Fee" of $175. I told them that their service wasn't working as advertised and I wasn't going to waste anymore money on this sham. They said if I didn't pay the early termination fee, I would be turned over to a collection agency. Yesterday, they sent me a bill for $180 that says "Initial Discount Reimbursement", which I will not be paying. There are over 500 complaints by other customers on the BBB website. This company is a sham, it scams people, locks into a direct debit agreement to tap money from your account for their bogus service. The two other times their reps have tried to apply the 4th treatment around our house they admitted that the sales people just tell customers what they want to hear, that they will be rid of all kinds of bugs but in fact they're service only gets rid of certain kinds of bugs - not the kind I had wanted to get rid of, and that the sales rep had lied when selling us this service - so the company is committing fraud as far as I'm concerned.

I am very sorry to say BUT Claudia from Aptive missed part of home and cobwebs!! Very Disappointing first service and imopressions!! The front inside patio... she said she knew what she had to do and she would take care of all the current corners outside the house that had cobwebs BUT when I checked after she left I saw there are big cobwebs and I have taken photos to show that. I am extremely disappointed at the very first service given to us and being charged for unfinished work! Also, Claudia said to me that she would leave 2 Fly traps for me - front door and back door but she didn't do that either !?! I have no idea if Claudia has done a good job for the test of the house ! Pretty disappointing service!! I don't know if I can trust her to do the job!! I am hoping that someone from Aptive will call me to let me know why they sent someone who could not do the job in a satisfactory manner!!! I feel cheated and I have been charged $$ for a service which was not done properly as promised!!

These vultures came to my home knocked on my door and sold my wife a service I was performing myself. The sad part is that when they sprayed the perimeter of my home they skipped over every space where they didn't have open access to the home's perimeter (BBQ, Trash cans, 2 storage containers, pool equipment and they walked past our furniture without attending to the spiders and egg sacks in place. I ended up removing the spiders and egg sacks myself the following weekend and spraying the entire home again in 20 minutes. It upsets me that my wife allowed herself to be bullied into buying the service which I cancelled as soon as I got home that night but at least do a thorough job. Now I don't only feel invaded (we live in a gated community which doesn't allow door to door) but ripped off as well. Amazon sells the exact incesticide they use for less than $35.00 and a hudson sprayer is another $20.00. If you don't know what you are doing there is a "do it yourself pest control" website that makes it dummy proof and trust me, you will perform better than this "spray and pay" service.

Hello- We had our first service from Aptive, and I have to say that I'm not completely satisfied. I'm not sure if there was a break down of misinformation from the sales person to the technician, a newer technician, etc. Here are the things we are not satisfied with and expect to be completed: For one, we were told that Aptive would sweep the eaves on both levels of the roof (the front of the home has additional eaves on the second story windows). I'm unaware that this happened, since the technician did not have a ladder. I'm not sure how a pest control service does not provide ladders to their technicians...that seems to hinder the services that we were told would happen. We were also told that the technician would go in our attic and our crawl space to observe for any signs of pests and then take any needed action. When the technician came, he seemed surprised that I asked about that. He was unprepared- no ladder. We had to provide the ladder ourselves, which luckily we had. I'm disappointed to say that he did not actually go into either the attic or the crawl space. Rather just looked in from the openings. I'm not satisfied that a complete observation can be done from a glance. Next, for handling mice, the technician simply put a sticky trap out. (Also, the mouse droppings he saw in the attic were "old", but I don't think he cleaned them up. Just left them there, since he was only poking his head in the attic opening. Is that protocol??) I'm pretty sure that we can do that ourselves. It seems like we are paying a lot of money for someone to set out a store bought trap. Next- for the wasp nests on our eaves, while he did sweep the ones off the eaves, I showed the technician where a wasp nest had formed on an exterior vent. While it may be tricky to remove (it is not an active one, so that should make it a bit easier), we still expected the technician to remove it- or at least consult with other technicians/supervisor on how to remove it if he did not know how. We are paying a lot for this Aptive service agreement, and should not have to be responsible ourselves to remove something that a technician should remove. Next, we were told that the technician would be able to spray inside where we have experienced ants last year. However, we were not told by the sales person that this would require needing to leave for 2 hours, as the technician stated, also seeming reluctant to want to provide that service for us. When I alerted him to the pest issues in our yard (where we have seen the ants, beetles, etc), I asked if their service would work towards eliminating the ant hives, and he stated that he didn't think that would happen. What?? Isn't that the point of hiring a pest service? To attempt to eliminate the nests, so that it makes deterring pests from entering the home even easier. He then told me a horribly terrifying example of a customer who had ants come into the home and into the drywall, only needing to perform a costly replacement of drywall, etc. While this is not our issue, I'm unsure why he would share this with me- it only makes me feel even less sure about the quality of Aptive services. Overall, we expected a much more professional, knowledgeable technician who would happily answer and explain any questions we have, and furthermore, be happy to provide the exact services that we need- that we are paying for!!- and be prepared with the necessary tools (ladder, flashlight, etc) without an attitude of reluctance or that it would take too long. I asked him to spray the playset, and I'm unaware that he did that either. To finish it off, he said that the next service was in 30 days, but was unaware how to schedule it. So that was not helpful at all. We now are paying customers that have received a less than satisfactory initial service, with no idea of when our 30 day service is going to be. However, I would like all these issues addressed- correctly- as soon as possible.

If I were given the option I would rate them less than 1 star. Primarily because of what I consider unscrupulous and unethical tactics. First let me say they sought me out with their door to door solicitation. Yes it falls on me because I was so trustful. I guess this time around I was one of those elderly victims of a slick salesperson who just happened to be in my neighborhood saving other people in the neighborhood money and so I should join the band wagon. After all the initial service would only be $1.00. Yes I fell for the proverbial: "If it sounds to good to be true...." So after not being completely satisfied with the initial service I decided not to use them again, but I was told that there would be a $249.00 cancellation fee since I did not cancel within 72 hours after the initial service even though they had not had yet been back for a second quarterly visit. You can imagine my surprise, but I was not going to allow myself to be held hostage to them by this sheer greedy and evil tactic. I just wonder how many other innocent retirees are being held hostage by this "cancellation" tactic. I am going to take the $249.00 hit rather than to deal with such an unscrupulous, underhanded and unethical company any further. Yes I was told that it was all in the agreement and if I had failed to read it that was my problem. Does that reaction from a company sound familiar to you? My wife and I are approaching 70 and are in our early retirement stage and cannot afford to loose $249.00 out of our budget. Yes it falls on me because I was so trustful and naive and maybe not as mentally acute or attentive as I once was . I would have never made contact with this company had they not knocked on my door. I had never even previously heard of them, but you can be assured I will never forget them for this point on assuming my memory doesn't start to further deteriorate.

I was swayed to switch from Terminix to Aptive from a young man who came to my door. A key difference was that Aptive supposedly treated external rats in the yard and fleas on the grass. On the first "service" however, they did neither. I have cameras around my property can tell for certain they did not treat the grass, nor did they leave a black rat box. I called them and a week later they sent a guy out to do it. A month or so into service now, I find a tremendous amount of spiders in my yard. I called them to schedule one of the "included re-treatment" services . . .but that can't be out for a week. With Terminix I rarely had a need for re-service, and if I did they came out again quickly! I don't know if it is the chemicals used or the technique, but I think the spray is not as effective as Terminix and I KNOW the service is worse. I even reached out to them to share this information and offer them the opportunity for service recovery - to immediately come out and address these problems, but they declined.

If the sales person who rides around on a hover board stalking people is any indication of the integrity of this business, then this company is extremely shady. I informed the sales person that we are in a no soliciting neighborhood, and that i didn't want him to come to my house. He came back 3 subsequent times and when i mentioned the no soliciting sign he said "i have a permit, so i can be here". this is an unfortunate response when i know that many people in our subdivision have asked him to leave. i contacted their headquarters, and was told no manager was there, so far i haven't heard from anyone about my complaint. I would not use this company. i would not recommend this company to people i know. it is impossible for me to imagine hiring a service provider who has such a low level of respect for the communities they serve. I hope i never have to think about this company again and that they stop harassing people. I have not had service from this company, but if you read the other reviews it more or less reinforces my opinion that this is a shady and low integrity organization that does not deliver on promises or listen to the people in the territories they serve.

The tech showed up to treat and remove mud bee’s nests in our outdoor pavilion. He did his job. However, the mud was left all over our furniture. My god, take an ounce of prevention and catch the nests in a bag or tarp. One more of these careless treatments and we’ll cancel our contract.

All the negative reviews are true here. This company would use any tactics out there to get you signed up for their services, then good luck trying to cancel afterwards. The sales person makes all kinds of false promises and statements about cancellation policies when they aggressively court you at your doorstep. He literally shoved down the first initial "free" treatment down my throat when I repeatedly said I don't need it. Once you fall for their bait, good luck trying to get out. They want $260+ cancellation fee when I tried to cancel, I'm so disputing that charge with my cc. Absolutely the worst service company I've ever dealt with. Please don't fall for them and cancel on them ASAP when you see this.

You have two major problems: 1. You did not communicate our phone requests to your technician, so he didn’t know he had to spray the interior of the house. 1a. Last visit the technician sprayed the interior, however ants, wasps, roaches and earwigs were found alive; when I called to complain, your service rep said that the interior wasn’t sprayed, which was incorrect. 1b. Obviously, you don’t keep good records, or lie to your clients, or both. 2. The technician went around the house, but spraying away from the base of the building where there were some bushes; there was enough clearance to walk between the bushes and the base of the building, but he chose not to do so, so my wife had to keep him on check to do his job. 2a. When spraying the interior, he was running along the walls, and obviously not spraying sufficiently; when asked, he said he had limited time to finish (25 min). Poor job. 3. You finally lost a client. Please cancel all future services. I am not wasting my time and money with a deficient service. Thanks
