I wish I could give zero star on here. I search google for best local pest control company, Aptive showed up. I called while checking yelp review, seeing some bad review on here but the sale rep. insisted that Yelp reviews were filtered and asked me to check bestcompany.com, which showed a lot of good reviews. I clearly stated that my 3 stories house is sitting on an upslope, the tech. has to come inside my house to spray the side (bugs) and backyard (rats) which is 40 feet above the street level. I set up for initial service on a Monday 10am to 12 noon, follow up service in a month and then quarterly thereafter. When I provided with my credit card info., she said the $50 discount only apply to bank account debit so I have to provide my bank routing and account number. Big mistake here as it’s much more difficult to dispute a payment, don’t fall for that trap. I was told the tech. will call or text me 30 mins. prior to service. I got a email confirmation the day after my order. On Monday, I called around 11:15 just to make sure, only to be told they have already showed up earlier and sprayed the front of my house. I was furious and insisted they come back for the service. After putting me on hold for 30 mins. the rep. told me that the branch manager Taylor will call me as soon as we hang up. He never call me, only got the same old text for my service and a email that I was billed for the service. I was so confused until those techs. showed up again after 12 noon. David was holding a mop pole and Omar did all the talking with serious attitude problem. Informed me that they showed up at 9am, rang door bell with no answer, did the front and left. They only go by the route provided from 8am to 8pm and blamed the scheduler for my 10-12 app. and I should be happy that they showed up at 9am. I told them they need to treat the rats at my backyard and Omar just brushed it off by telling me they don’t have the supplies in their van to treat rats. I just told them to leave. I checked my security camera, it showed that they pulled up around 8:50am, Omar pressed my doorbell only once which I didn’t hear. David just stood there with the mop pole and his phone, cleaned a little around my garage and front door. Omar sprayed a little at the front. This was 5 mins. and they sat in the van for 5 mins. and left at 9am. The way this company conducts their business and the way they treat customers is a disgrace. Now I know why they are getting so many bad reviews on here and should have trusted Yelp. It could be just the Los Angeles location but you are taking a big chance dealing with this company. This is a long statement but I need to get my points across to help prevent more victims falling for this scam.

My salesman promised my entire yard, front and back, would be treated every time they would come out after I explained to him that I have a big issue with ants in my entire yard. Our service man told us he would only spot treat. I still have a huge ant problem in my front and back yard, and I was completely mislead. I would have never entered a contract if I was informed that my entire yard would not be treated during each of my services. What exactly am I paying for if product is not being used in my yard, where I have the biggest issue? The salesman was completely misleading, and the service man did not help when we asked him about treating our yard. As of now, I feel so uneasy about your company and about the fact that I am in a contract based on misleading information I was provided. I spoke to Jarrod, a very helpful man in customer service, and he set up a free service on Wednesday with notes asking them to treat my yard as promised.

This is definitely the worst company I have ever had service with! All they cared about was the sale they made. After the sale was made, they have not been helpful. Scheduling my appointment wrong, not showing up for appointments. Finally showed up and Erick did a horrible straying my house hold. Strayed my furniture, did not have me moving anything after I repeatedly asked if I need to move anything. My house was not sprayed correctly, I’ve emailed and called. Finally to get in touch with someone and giving me a hard time refunding me my money. When the job again was not even done right! I am tired of this company, And do not RECOMMEND them to anyone!

Hello, On Aug 31st your technicians serviced our house. 1. The spider webs were not removed from the house. The spider webs were take care of on the first visit and I was told that would happen during your visits 2. I called (916) 587-2847 and was put on hold for 12min. (I understand that with all that is going on) 3. After the 12 minutes of being on hold I was given the option to have one of your operators call me back. Initially I was told that following the first treatment I would get a 2nd treatment 30 DAYS following. It has been just 14 days, and I was billed $95.00 for an unscheduled and unrequested trip to my home. Last week a technician came by and all but insisted he perform the quarterly treatment. When I stopped suggesting and told him "no, the treatment is not yet due because I just signed up", he said he had to get okay from his boss (could have been manager or supervisor) before he could pass on the treatment. Then today your technician shows up. When I responded to your technician at my home he specifically said he was passing by and noticed that the technician performing the first treatment did not clean the eaves well, so he was stopping by to perform "a courtesy sweep". He went as far as to tell me, without my mentioning, that he knows I only signed-on on the 18th of last month so my 30 day quarterly had not yet com. I am completely displeased with the method of operation of this company and am seriously considering cancelling the service.

I have had to have people come out twice in a week. First guy didn’t sweep down the giant spider hanging right next to the front door. Second guy was very rude and didn’t want to sweep down that spider- reluctantly did- and still didn’t sweep down the other spiders around the area. What a waste of money.

When your representative came, I was under the impression that he would leave a rat trap in one part of the yard. I called theAptive office about a problem of something eating some of our fruit in the yard in my garden. Apparently, the office didn't pass on the message to the rep. Also, he was here for no more than 10 minutes. Didn't feel like he took much time to do a good job and did not let us know that he was done and if we were satisfied with his service. I'm wondering if we made a mistake signing up for this service. Initially, the rep we spoke with that signed us up said that a plastic or metal shield would be placed at the bottom of the wall under our kitchen window to help keep the ants out so the ants wouldn't be coming into the house. That was never done. Are you still planning to do this? I would appreciate your response to this matter.

The tech that came to my house was nice, but he broke a patio display light in my yard, small glass shattered all over my patio. I advised of him the lights before service too. I just wished he said something to me upon leaving, as I told him I'll be inside if he needed me for anything. It was a good thing I noticed it before I went barefoot outside my yard. On a bright side, I don't see much ant trails in my yard anymore, so that's relieving.

I feel that the company is expensive, for the services offered. We were not given a clear understanding of the services we will receive, nor the costs. We signed up with the idea that they would get rid of the rats in the attic. They placed 2 traps, but have not come back to check in the last 2 weeks.We will need someone to come out to check on the rat traps placed in the attic.

The technician was very informative and went right to work. However, right the next day we had live spiders. we don’t believe the treatment did the job. I found one live black widow and one live brown widow, which I killed, and egg and web area that was missed and we are seeing webs being built. We need someone to come out and do a thorough spraying of all areas. Thought we would get a press wash and got a man-pac sprayer. This is not sufficient to cover our landscaping. Need someone to call me.

GARBAGE SERVICE! Theres no way you can convince me that ANY of your team members can spend less than 5 minutes on my house and be doing even a somewhat thorough job. Upon inspection, there's cobwebs and spider still present. No attempt to wipe them down or remove them was made. Last appointment the tech stopped by and left without doing anything. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! SCAM SCAM SCAM. I signed up less than 2 months ago and somehow have a balance of $348 and NOTHING has been done in those two months. Thank God for chargebacks and good banks that help get your money back from scam artists like this. I will be contacting the BBB and making reviews on other sites to ensure each person who ever considers hiring this trash company thinks twice. I wish I could give them a 1/4 star cause that's what they deserve. High pressure salesman to sign up, lazy, non ethical workers for your service... GREAT WORK APTIVE.

First time ever in our 3 years with aptive that the person coming did not want to do the re service . He was only wanting to do the spots where insects were found the bathroom and staircase???? All of our past re-service where the whole inside or our outside. I had to point out areas in our third garage that was not sprayed. Obvious because all the other areas where wet. Yet he insisted he had done it. Another thing was that the same spray used inside was used outside, he mentioned that his truck whose was not working. I had to follow hi. On the outside to make sure he was actually spraying. Something has really changed this year with Aptive, not sure if it’s new ownership but the quality is not there. This young man was the same one that did the quarterly. Very nice polite, I personally think he needs training. Please don’t send him back.

The girl was begging to sign up for one year service worth $365.00. I signed up with the intention to help. Unfortunately, i made a mistake. Very disappointed withing the very first couple of services. The first service (they claimed it free) was very quick and the spray they used was mostly watery. I highly doubt they used any kind of bug control srpay. I had to instruct the guy to make sure he does the job properly. The second service was even much faster then the first service. The guy came and did quick spray around the home foundation and inside home. He did not care to clean the corners with spider nests inside the house. He did not take care of the front & back yard. These guys dont do the job as per the contract. Future customers, please do not go for aptive.

I am most disappointed with your initial "service". I contacted you because of a Rat problem in my yard and garden with some activity in my garage as well. When the "technicians" arrived they seemed most interested in talking to me about what kind of insects I had called about. When I explained that the problem was with rodents they said they usually use bait boxes but they were out of them, so they could offer me some "Snap Traps", they said they would bring "Bait Boxes" on the next service next month. I told them I was concerned with using bait boxes and poisoning rats which would possibly then be eaten by my dogs. I asked what type of poison your bait boxes used. They told me they did not know but they would have their manager contact me with that information. This was on Saturday August 15th, it is now Tuesday August 18th and I am still waiting to be contacted by that manager. Additionally the 9 traps they set with some sort of liquid attractant have caught nothing. If it were possible to give you a negative 5 star rating I would. To add insult to injury the technician sent me this opportunity to rate your service and included the following "Service Notes" Inspected eaves and exterior windows for wasp nests, spider webs, and spider egg sacs. removed any harborage or nest activity found on the front, back, and sides of home. Placed and baited snapping traps to eliminate rodents. Please exercise caution around the treated areas with children and pets. Aptive Environmental started out good, but got progressively bad real quick. It started when they would send out an email stating a technician would be coming to service my property, but most time would not show, and it was up to me to find out where the tech was, as usual I heard things like "Oh, the tech had an emergency, and did not show up for work." Time and time again I would need to be rescheduled. I also had to have them come back out to do a re-service because the pest situation was worse than before they came out. On numerous occasions either myself or my mother would ask to have some specific areas sprayed, but was not done and we felt like we were being ignored. The last straw with Aptive was today 8-12-2020. I have been charged for the services, but no one showed up to perform the services. I called and spoke to, I believe his name was Hunter, and explained the situation. He gave me two choices, the first being having someone come out and re-service the property. Re-service something that was never serviced in the first place? This seemed like a weak solution to me. I went with choice #2 and that was to terminate my contract with Aptive. However, Hunter stated he needed to put me on a "brief hold" so he could transfer me over to, I think he called it, a "Loyalty Manager" but after waiting on "ignore" for 56 minutes for somebody to come back on the line, I was beyond disgusted, and hung up. At this point I don't know if my contract is cancelled! What I do know however, is I will not pay for services I don't receive.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, Current Customer Support!!!!! I have been a customer of Aptive for over 2 years. Last week I discovered a large wasp next in my garage and a spider nest in my family room. I called to get service, stayed on the phone for 45 min. finally my call was answered. The person on the phone was nice, scheduled me for the next day at 6:00 pm for service as this was basically an emergency. I get a call from the person who was supposed to service me at 4:00 telling me he was not coming to call customer service to reschedule. I immediately called CS stayed on hole until 5:30, no answer. I left a message. No call back. I called in today promptly at 9:00 have been on hold since. After about 30 minutes, the automated systems says their is no one to answer my call and hangs up. I called the sales line, which is says not to do, they answered withing 5 min. explained they were a different site, would transfer me directly to current customer service, transferred me, and dropped me right back into the system. We were home while the pest control guys were here and they did not bother to ask us to unlock the gate. When I had signed the agreement, the guy said “please remember to open the DOOR.” They knew I would be home. I assumed they would knock and say they were going to begin service. I was in my office and my husband and son were in the living room. They saw the guys, but they did not realize they were supposed to unlock the gate. My mistake, however, common courtesy would have been to take two minutes to knock on the door and ask us to unlock the gate. I specifically told the guy I’d be home, working. I had asked specifically for them to hit the backyard and garage. I paid for that. Did not receive that service.
