My one and only reason for calling pest control was to mitigate a mice situation. This was made crystal clear on the multi-phone calls with Adam from customer service prior to signing up for the program. The technician that arrived was not aware of this and said he thought he came to spray for bugs. My primary concern was not dealt with any level of professional expertise--needles to say, the technician didn't even have all the necessary gears to deal with a mice situation. The 5 traps that were placed on the property, I could have bought 6 of them on Amazon for $12. Additionally, even though the tech seemed like a nice guy, he was focused more on small talks that were completely irrelevant to the reason why he was here. I'm generally an easy going and polite person, so I found it challenging to try and get him back on track and divert his attention to the real problem. I found this service to be a waste of money.

They are very unprofessional, I always had a bug issue even after revisits, it is a nightmare to try to cancel (a manager has to do it and are not available), extremely long wait times for customer service, novice technicians in a hurry to be in and out, they did not remove spider webs, wasp/bee nests, without being told to, I was charged and continued service after several attempts of cancellation, and their app is awful for communication. I was on hold for hours trying to cancel, being told that customer service cannot do it and a manager needs, which is not available. Told I would be called back to finish cancelling and was never called. Another service was performed, and I tried cancelling again. The service was awful with the tech sending an email stating he was done with his service before even arriving, then he was here for less than 5 minutes applying the pesticide, I asked for him to spray my basement and he speratically spot sprayed random areas that were not even a concern, I asked if he would hit the daylight walls, of which he stated he did, but did not. I asked him to go around the windows, and he it them with a spot of spray. This was very poor and unprofessional service. I received a call from collections saying I need to pay for my service and I stated that I tried to cancel to no avail and do not wish to continue my service and refuse to pay for that last awful service. They did not care and continued to send me letters, calls and texts (many) trying to collect. I called customer service several more times to try to cancel after holding for hours and finally received an email saying my account is "on hold" or "frozen", and they do not cancel accounts. I complained and stated that I tried to cancel and did not want the final service, and furthermore it was a terrible service. I finally gave up after continuing to receive texts and calls from their billing collections and said you can either wave my last service fee or send somebody with professionalism to reservice my house the right way. They told me that I need to pay first. I said since you refuse to waive the service and put me through these hours of wasted time trying to cancel, I will pay. I soon as I was done paying, they told me that I need to call back and cancel to no longer be charged! I am now back on their contract and my account is active again! What a nightmare!!!

It is my strong recommendation that you do not do business with this company. First, they give you a huge discount to your first service, that really amounts to nothing. Because in my opinion they do nothing more in the first service then they do in the following services. Instead if you don't like their service and cancel, they charge that "discount" back to you. Well the discount is so huge that it is larger then your remaining payments. Second, in my opinion they don't actually spray your property. Why spend money on pest killing agents when you can spray water instead? They do offer a free follow up service. So in my opinion they spray water on your property and for most customers that is enough. Other customers like myself really don't notice a change in the pest population. So we call them out a second time and then, in my opinion, and then only do they spray the pesticide. I imagine they save a significant amount of cost with this approach. Third, they don't actually spray your property. Like the second except since the guy knows he is spraying water he doesn't put much effort into it. On my security cameras I have recorded them not spraying the property, skipping large sections, or flicking their spray wand as if that flick is going to provide effective coverage on the surface that is at least 12' away. Then they send you nice little invoice where they list out all the areas they covered. In my experience this invoice is a far cry from reality. I even negotiated with them using BBB, and when I removed all my negative reviews, they backed out of our arranged deal.

This is the worst ever company to deal with. Salesperson is misleading and unprofessional. He acted like a car Salesperson- very pushy and definitely a bad representation of the company . However I am not surprised at all because the back office/customer service is just as bad . Our 1st " free" pest control only took about 5 minutes. Then today we have our 1st quarterly extermination it was quick as usual plus technician left the gate open . I left my dogs out in the backyard and within 15 minutes, my t cup yorkie went missing. I have the whole neighborhood looking for her. It was cold out and getting dark, we finally found her about 5 houses down from me . This is again the 3rd bad experiences from Aptive

Technician was here this morning for all of 5 minutes. He did not spray for wasps (there's clearly a nest above the garage) nor did he "inspect eaves and exterior windows for wasp nests, spider webs, and spider egg sacs, removed any harborage or nest activity found on the front, back, and sides of home" as stated in the Technician Notes. Also...when he sprayed the garage, he sprayed the items in the garage (refrigerator, chest freezer, storage chest, etc.) as if they were the brick exterior of the home. There was more treatment solution on the sides and front of these things than there was on the ground. I had to wipe everything down afterwards.

I do not even want to give a star for this company. I have never had so much trouble communicating with a company before. They never answer their phones, they say they will call back but you have to call again and sit on hold AGAIN to speak with someone, their app is conveniently ALWAYS down, I ask every appointment to not come at a certain time and they somehow always come at that time and mark it as a missed appointment (happened twice out of four services), I have had to have them come back out to spray again twice (again out of four services), they say there is not a cancellation fee but want to charge me 249 to cancel because of a promotion they ran? Overall I am not happy with this company and I’m being forced to use them again for my last service so I can be charged 92 dollars instead of 249. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Aptive. The ONLY good thing about this company is their kind techs since I have met so many with their reservices....

Horrible experience. He never asked me if I was having problems with the inside of my house. Came and sprayed front yard ONLY for $140. Then, when I called the office to ask why he didn't come in, they called him and he LIED and said he would call me in a few minutes to set up a time later today so he could finish the job. He never called back. I am very unhappy with this company. You should make it a POINT to ASK your customers when you call for the 30 minutes window if there are any other issues. And, you should let the costumer what you are going to do on the visit. Not just show up for 5 min. and leave. That way, if the customer is having any other issues, you could address them during that visit.

In May-2020, I agree to the services with trust and expectations of Active being experts at their job. It is now November-2020 and I have not seen a decrease in pests as promised. I called into customer service to express these concerns and to request a cancellation of their services. The representative/customer experience personnel became rude after hear the complaint saying in a condescending tone, "well how come you never called before?" After going back and forth for about 5 minutes, I asked again for the services to be cancelled. The agent continued to offer alternatives for the services to be performed again. Expressed my confusion as to how repeating the service would make a difference in results. The agent abruptly stated, "you have to give the time to work", rudely cutting me off. These services started in MAY... again, it's now NOVEMBER, how much longer do I wait for results?? That's poor services and I am not getting the experiences I was promised. I shouldn't have to pay for something I am not getting! I kindly asked for a manger, supervisor, or even corporate. The agent mentioned that she's the person who handles these types of situations and could not give my any contacts for corporate. Again... Poor! I am not happy about this. Even if I do not get my refund as requested, I want people to know about my experience here.

The technicians are very friendly and seem to know what they are doing. The scheduling is awful, I need more than 12 hours notice so I can move everything in my garage to the middle. The automated scheduling system changes scheduled appointments at random and needs to be locked down and controlled by humans. The products being used, don’t seem to last very long like they did when I first started getting serviced.

outside of home service was as expected. but thats half of what we wanted. called aptive C/S in the morning to confirm appointment and asked about inside treatment. was informed the individual performing the services would ask for the inside treatment if wanted. individual performed the outside as usual and was about to leave in vehicle when asked about the inside he said make an appointment. now have to wait.

Homeowner Beware! Aptive Environmental schedules extra services outside the quarterly services and CHARGES the customer for those. Not only that, but they confirmed the extra service was a mistake and promptly charged for it the same day even after I, the customer, called in and complained. Aptive did not send their reminder call or email (which is part of the contract) which was what alerted me this extra service was a mistake. When I called in and spoke to their customer service about it they confirmed the extra service was in error and that they had already come out the month before. But they still had the nerve to charge for that AFTER I called in and complained. Unbelievable! So when I called in on day 2 after noticing the charge and asked to talk to a manager, they said the manager was busy. They said they would refund it and a manager would call me, but no manager ever called me back just like the day before. Also I had a note on my account from the year before that alerts them not to autodraft my account and they have honored it in the past, but of course not this time! Not only this, but their pesticides never got rid of the ants! The technician said that he is hearing the same complaint from many customers in the neighborhood! The pest control service does not take care of lawn ants. Even when they used a higher concentration of product, the ants just persist. No additional treatments over the last year ever took care of the ant problem. They do not care about the customer. When you request to have a MANAGER call you back to talk about the issues, no one ever calls you. The reason I asked for a manager is the reoccurring issues. The customer service reps are kind and understanding, but cannot help to prevent future issues, as the same issues are reoccurring. And no manager cares enough to give you a call when you request a call to discuss.

When your technician first introduced himself, I specifically told him that I had a rat problem. I was really unconcerned about anything else. First time anyone came, they asked for access to my basement, where these rodents have made their home. I'm not sure what they did, because I wasn't with them. Since that day, back in the early part of summer, I haven't seen anyone come around, but I have received 2 invoices for services apparently rendered. Today, I have been home until about 12:15pm, busy doing work in my garage. It appears that someone must have come by, because when I opened my front door, there was what appears to be the remnant of a spider web hanging from the upper door post. Needless to say that I AM NOT IMPRESSED WITH YOUR SERVICES.

Unethical and unfair company - Due to financial and personal circumstances I requested Aptive people not to do the service in May/2020, during quarantine for Covid19. Instead of re-scheduling the service to the next month, they sent me the invoice for the early cancellation for $249. Last month, I got a letter from A.R.M. collection company to pay $249, and the collection company reported to credit bureau. Due to this, my credit point dipped by more than 50 points It is very disappointing and heartbreaking that Aptive has gone this far during this pandemic time. I had requested them to hold on to the service for few months due to the financial circumstances, and they came after me unfairly charging for the entire year as early cancellation fee for extending the service for just one month during national emergency and even reported to collection company. The collection company A.R.M. further reported to credit bureau. I talked to collection company regarding paying off my balance and and requested them to remove the collection record from the credit bureau. And collection did not even acknowledge that they had reported to bureau. My question to them was, how could I trust them to get that report removed after the payment if they don't even acknowledge reporting to the bureau on the first place. I do not have any other choice but to report it. I hope they are not doing this unfair and unethical practices with other families during this tough time.
