Horrible they close my account even though it was pay in full: without previous notice and refused to re-open though I have many other bank cards all in good standing: is a shame my favorite stores, Marshall’s, home goods and home sense, use this bank for their credit because I will not shop in any of their stores any longer: reason because I felt unfairly treated and they close my account right before the Christmas holidays when I always paid it in full..

This company has the most incompetent customer service staff I have ever experienced. They fat fingered my routing number which caused my auto payments to be rejected then tried to spin it on me and the bank I used to submit the payments. Amazon should partner with another bank that knows how to treat their customers. All that money and they are shortchanging their customers with poor customer service and incompetent staff.

Synchrony Bank removed $4,500 from my account when the approved payment was for $150. When speaking with customer service, they were able to reverse the transaction, but the money they took without permission is going to take 3 weeks to return to me! Christmas is in two weeks, and the best they can do is give me back my money they stole from me in 3 weeks. Absolutely ridiculous!

I have good credit 740-780 make over 200k a year. I had a 5k limit on the Amazon store card. Synchrony performed a random review of my credit and dropped my limit to $3830 without any notice and right before the holidays. Now my credit is going to take a hit because of this... Will never use this card and again and will close the account when I get another 5k card. Amazon this is the type of company you are partnered with. Shady AF!!!

If there were a 0 star, I would choose it...you can NEVER do survey because the representative will not hang up until you hang up first. Never able to talk to a supervisor, representative will transfer you back to the beginning where you'll get another rep. Great in a pinch but if you pay monthly payment online and get an email confirmation about your payment they do not draft it..... Charge you double payment and late fees the next month. Wish I could give zero stars. Opened several accounts with them kept my utilization under 30 % some 10% to 0 % . My payment history is 100% with synchrony and all cards they cut my limits to balances making all 100% taking over 200 points off my score. They said it was due to my credit report which nothing had changed since opened! Meanwhile I make payments each payment is followed by more available credit lines reduced? Pay card off=close account. Meanwhile other cards increase my limits. Only owe 2 cards with them never again worst bank ever!

Synchrony closed my JTV account because they said I had too many revolving accounts. I had the account for a year and had never missed a payment and never was late with my payment to them. They did not send me a letter or inform me in any kind of way that my account was closed. When I got online to make a payment is when I found out and the customer service was rude. I would not ever recommend them to anyone.

They are doing a bad job of managing their clients receivables. This bank has been the collector of three companies I have done business with. I'm now cancelling the use of these three companies for erroneous billing and collection practices. I have been a longtime customer paying mostly my accounts in full upon billing. If I use these companies again, I will pay cash at time of purchase. I can't imagine anyone paying their 24.7% interest charges.

I was after affected by covid from my job so the decided to reduce my credit limit by $500 . Without my permission to re run my credit and no notice in the mail After I pay them off I want ever get another card again from them. Customer service is horrible. The problem: Synchrony was showing the wrong phone number on my account. I placed 2 calls, both started with incredibly long wait times to talk to a rep. The first rep gave me wrong info, and failed to help. The second rep was a bit better, but also gave me wrong info (blamed it on TransUnion). I had to argue to talk to a manager. That finally happened after being put on hold multiple times. The manager finally fixed it: so it was lack of training at Synchrony that was the root cause. RUN from this organization, it's HORRIBLE.

I have had several cards with Synchrony and always paid on time every time. Every time you buy something with a high cost and they issue you a card to cover that amount and you start paying it down they cut the limit voiding your open to buy numbers on your credit reports. It is a shame that any business does business with this third quality bank. Every time this has happened my credit score was the same or better than when the card was issued but by dropping the limits it damages your overall score. The score I would give Synchrony Bank on a scale of 100-700 is no better than 125!

When I called last month to close my account I was told to pay the balance due to close my account and the rep stated the account was now closed. When I looked online the account was still active. I proceeded to close it and the following month I came across the surprised that there was a fee added and a second fee applied to the late fee. This was after the consumed account and original interest was paid. Original amount consumed was about $56, last payment was $85, and the fees after account was closed are about $70. More than the original amount.

This is the worst bank EVER! Do not use it! You get penalized for paying off your credit card with them. Even tho you payment is processed Synchrony holds your money for over a week and you can’t use your credit card! I’ve never heard of a bank holding your money and at your card is paid off but you are not allowed too use it up too 21 days! This is usery and they are a fraudulent institition! BEWARE! Also the supervisors are rude and uncooperative! Ama on you need too get rid of them and use a real bank!

0 Stars for this bank. I couldn't make an online payment, I couldn't make a payment over the phone. When I sent a check for the loan payment it took them almost a month to post it. Almost impossible to contact customer service, and when I did, they were clueless and incompetent. I finally gave up, defaulted on the loan, and settled the loan in FULL for LESS than the amount owed.

I called csmr service to explain what happened they ended up canceling my account. Because I stopped the payment due to their error. I no longer trust this bank.

Would rate zero stars if possible. They will reduce your credit line after a large payment in retaliation of your dissatisfaction over their lack of communication, argumentative customer care agents and incompetence of getting you a replacement card for a expiring card. Oh, and the reduction is made without any prior communication through old fashioned snail mail or email for that matter. They’ll just graciously take your large lump sum payment and lower your credit line and leave you with a few bucks afterwards.

Synchrony Bank is the worst company that I have ever done business with. I was wondering why my balance wasn’t going down. I called them and went up three chains of command disputing the fact that they told me any extra money paid above minimum should be going towards principle. Management told me multiple times they have always placed a percentage of minimum payment towards interest & remaining towards balance, but when you pay extra they have never put extra paid towards balance. Beware of getting screwed like I have been getting.

When I set up auto payment with Synchrony, my next payment was late. Instead of billing me any amount I might have been short or simply charging me a single late fee, they added a $2 fee to my payment every month so I didn't even know I was being charged a fee. Also, I didn't receive any notification that I'm aware of that I was being charged this fee. I only found it when I logged into my account and viewed my activity, but by then they had already charged me a total of $44 in fees. In response to this, I paid off my card and closed my account.

synchrony decided to close 10 of my credit cards!!!! with these closures, 20 points removed from my credit after working so hard to get it where its at after i was a victim of fraud!! im not understanding why when i paid ALL my accounts, some with zero balance!!! i paid my account faithfully every month, sometimes twice a month.. risk for failure to pay??!! Synchrony Bank recently lowered my available credit line, this in spite of several of my other credit cards increasing my credit line. The problem that this caused was reducing my credit line instantly put me over my credit limit and therefore I got dinged on my credit report lowering my score by as much as 15 points. Merchant sent me a refund for over $200 and Synchrony refused to apply it to my balance. Even after uploading all the proof. Been trying to get it applied to my balance since April. Filed with BBB and all Synchrony responded with is that it can take up to 90 days to investigate the dispute. This is after they closed 2 of them in the merchant's favor. Stopped using Synchrony to make any other purchases.

I have tried to get pervious back statement on my Lowe's card for a VA audit. I called on 8/23/2021 and check they status has no record. I called every day to check the status of the statement copies finally they have only have one request which was on 9/2/21. the customer service representatives are rude and don't know what is going on. It a shame that Lowe's is such a great store but the credit card phone is horrible.

This a infuriating for those of us with good credit. This company needs to be shut down. Good credit and a good history means nothing to this company. It’s pathetic. Synchrony Bank is the worst Credit Card; they have the highest rates and the worst customer service. If you do not carry a balance they will reduce your credit line or close your account without reason. They suck in customers with no interest "specials" only to hit them with over 20% interest for any reason. Its a trap many fall into and if you don't they will drop you.

Synchrony Bank started out great. I opened up several lines of credit with them and had decently high limits with low balances. Ironically, after filing a dispute for $1,100, ALL of my Synchrony accounts were shut down. When I called and I asked, they said I was a high risk to pay. Excuse me!? I've never missed a payment, never late, nothing. This was dirty and below the belt of them. Will NEVER do business again!

Just the absolute worst. Got a $1200 credit line for tires. Only spent $650 of that, so they knocked my credit line down to $650 after a few months. That nuked my FICO for a year. They did it again at $400 as I paid it down, then at $200 they closed the account, another negative on my FICO. Was never late on payments. Evil, awful, disgusting company.

My account was CLOSED due to an issue with autopay. Not suspended but CLOSED! I had a balance of less than $12 which was paid immediately after I received a notice. I was told that the account couldn't be reopened after it had been closed and I would need to re-apply. Ridiculous! I was about to buy a car and now this account closure will negatively affect my credit score. If you didn't pay you balance of $12 due to an issue which is beyond your control, be sure these guys will screw up your credit history. Many similar reviews here. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Had TJX card...ended up with 2 cards and multiple calles later and several rude customer service reps from Philippines that assured me both accounts closed...I continued to receive billing/interest on these accounts. This is fraud and certain Synchrony Bank fully aware as this was iver a 4 month period. Was never able to speak with supervisor and given customer care number when asked for corporate number. This bank should be held accountable and federal complaints issued and accountability from this phishing bank.

This is hands down the worst credit card company I have dealt with. They processed the wrong information on my application and gave me a credit limit of $1,000. I called them 16 times and talked to rude people over the phone and finally fixed the issue but they still refuse to do a manual review and increase my credit limit. I have an 800+ score, S165 K net income, and a very low debt to income ratio. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING.

This is one screwed up bank. I applied for a Lowe's credit card which is issued by Synchrony Bank, and they turned my down even though my credit score is over 800, I have no debt, and my income is in excess of $400,000 per year. When I asked why I had been turned down, the only response that I was given was that I had to wait seven to ten days for a letter from them. I wrote to Lowe's and told them that they need to find a new credit card partner.

Online service are the worst. Have several credit cards from various banks, the three I have with synchrony Bank are the biggest pain to pay. Sure there is the pay as guest feature they throw at us, but I like how all the other banks have reliable app services.. The one app I have available is for care credit and it is glitchy and always forgets my information so I have to go through a myriad of steps to get back into which defeats the purpose of the app. Don't bother calling customer service over anything, more than a 40min wait everytime and they are always less than helpful.

Never sent statements and reported me for missed payments. Got that straightened out, but then they still NEVER sent me a statement. They also said they were sending me a Discount Tire credit card. It never came. VERY long wait each time I called them, and finding a number to call on their website s VERY hard! Since all of my accounts with them are with store credits and Paypal. I will be paying them off ASAP and dropping those store credit cards as fast as I can. Goodbye Walmart, Discount Tire, and Paypal. I'll use my other credit cards that have better customer service.

I was recently informed by Credit Karma that one of my Synchrony bank card accounts was closed. When I logged in to verify this, I found that Synchrony closed the account for inactivity. While they *may* be within their contractual rights to do so, doing so without notifying their customers seems like a shady and deadbeat move. I won't tolerate banks like this toying with consumer's credit files. Any relationships with Synchrony, via store cards, PayPal, and alike, are now severed.

The worst experience so far is that instead of closing my 12 month CD and depositing the money in my local WFB account as I asked them to do via phone..they actually went and withdrew that exact amount from my WFB checking and added it to and renewed the existing Synchrony CD..can you believe that..?? wow..my head is still swirling..trying to solve it..complained to my senator.

If I could give them no stars, I would. WHAT KIND OF A BANK IS IT IF YOU CANNOT MAKE AN ONLINE PAYMENT? They charge any additional fee they can. Made a payment over the phone, got a confirmation number and days later they claimed no payment was made. Had a payment automatically draw from my bank 5 days prior to the due date. They can’t even manage posting payments in a timely manner. RUDE customer service with an attitude. Do not deal with this horrible bank!!

Awful interface, on weblog on, on top of that billed me many times erroneously for the same service and debited my bank account twice on auto-pay a few months. Sams Club, Amazon, etc all use this under par bank for credit services. Use a reputable Bank or card service. This is a nightmare of a bank. Cant save passwords as the header is the same for all accounts and different service provided. Its IT services are done by amateurs. Cant provide a statement to see properly on their credit card sites.

For some reason they blocked my account due to fraudant activity, I guess. They wanted me to go through a verification process....take a pic of myself on phone, photo of credit card front and back...video of me rolling my eyes for 5 seconds,and then send a pic of my driver's license. They wouldn't verify me by my security answers or my landline. Now I have to wait 2 weeks for a letter with ANOTHER verification code even though the two they gave me on my phone wasn't good enough. I am NOT comfortable doing all of this and will most likely cancel it.

Totally disappointed. They give 12 months 0% interest and I almost paid off everything. So I end it up own then only $1400 and after the 12 months 0% expires I was expecting that they will charge me interest for the amount I own actually. But that was Absolutely not. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with thru QVC. I called and ask what my interest rate was and was told I did not have a percentage rate that it was a daily rate. Then I was told everyone who has a Q card has a 26% rate. I called to get my balance and complained about the rate and was speaking to a supervisor and after giving me my balance he told me he was with Walmart not QVC he pretended to transfer me and of course I was hung up on. I will never shop with QVC again if this is how they choose to do business.

After they bought CitiHealth, they failed to actually test the system to ensure that you can get registered. No matter what you enter, they find your Citi account, but you can't register. The page refreshes over & over without any errors or registration. My payment is now late because they shut down payments on the Citi site before the actual buyout too.
