I was trying to verify my identity for a CC (Harbor Freight) and the process was terrible. They needed a video of me which I wasn't prepared for. Then they wanted to take a picture of my license with my IPAD camera front and back and the process did not work. I tried to pre-qualify. It sent a link to my mobile phone and it came up verified but the website didn't detect that. This whole process was ridiculous. I have existing credit with synchrony bank and never had to go through all this.

I got pre approved for care credit in january. Never received the physical card. Now with that on mind I tried to access my account that month said everything was incorrect meanwhile I still have no card and called everyday over what I owe and when I explained my situation they said I will get a call next week. 2 days later I am being called again. No sympathy and unprofessional at best. Will not be recommending and will be urging anyone I know to avoid.

Synchrony bank is the worst experience I has ever had withy any financial institution bar none. They are villains and not worthy of any customers, they will only jack up interest rates on you and then you will have to fight them. Then the problem is you will not be able to get anyone with 1/2 a brain on the phone. After many hours on the phone waiting, and waiting and waiting, you will lose your mind and soul.

I was charged thousands and thousands of dollars for items, I never purchased I was paying my bill every month but I wasn’t being credited my bill kept going up and up every month, I disputed all the charges on my Amazon and no card and they stated that the charge’s are mines. Which is not true.. can anyone help, I’am ready to sue at this point this is a scam, I”m not paying for something I didn’t receive, is there a attorney that can help me with this ..sad part I have a lot of cards through this scamming bank Thank you

I have been a synchrony bank customer for years. Many of my have transitioned to Synchrony Bank. I just went to use my Synchrony home card to have it declined. They closed my account due to inactivity. I was not notified that it would be closed or that it had been closed. I spoke with a manager and her reply was they are not obligated to notify you of account closures prior or after. Synchrony obviously knows nothing about courtesy or good customer service. Manager told me I could open a new account. I told her I will never have an account with them again

Sam’s Club Master Card through Synchrony Bank was the Worst credit card ever used! Had card less than one month and card was canceled twice for suspicious purchases. Card was shut off each time. Was told a new card would be mailed within 7-10 days??? Furthermore, Synchrony Bank’s Authentication tool did not work! Just paid off balance and CANCELED CARD. We weren’t able to use card half the period of time we had it. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!

ZERO stars! It is fine until you need to access your money! They have a limit on bank transfers that is not stated anywhere on their website. Manager told me they would air freight a check because I needed more of our funds for a closing on our new home. They did not air freight the check for 2 days! I was on the phone with 3 different managers, for 3 hours, the last one "off shore" and NO ONE was able to help me or called me back. Filing complaint with Better Business Bureau also.

I've had the card for a year. After a year of on-time payments, and paying more than the minimum, they cut my credit limit down to my current balance. So now it shows I am utilizing 100% of my credit limit and caused my credit score to drop 57 points. Of course, this happens right when I am shopping for a new car. I received no notice this was happening, and no explanation from Synchrony Bank.

Gave no notice prior to taking action but decided to close one of my accounts because my “balance was too high” even though the card is paid off EVERY MONTH. Not minimum payments, paid down to $0 every month with no issues and no missed payments. Absolutely ridiculous. Thank you for making it even harder to build and maintain credit in an already horrible economic situation. Trash company I will never open a new account with you and I will close EVERY SINGLE ONE of my remaining accounts.

Synchrony bank is a joke they closed 60k worth of credit accounts with no notice period I have been a loyal customer always paid my bills on time they said they were closed due to inactivity I have a good income so I don't need to rely on credit as much there's two reasons they closed my accounts 1 no swipe fees 2 no interest cause I paid off my accounts in full each month basically they didn't make a dime on me cause I don't carry a balance on any of my cards I'm done with synchrony bank no more business with them

Do not get a credit card that uses Synchrony Bank. We purchase a house and got furniture from Rooms to Go and a bed from Sleep number but cards through Synchrony Bank. The only reason we did was because the no interest payments for 12 months. Two months before the cards were paid off and interest kicks in the bank closes both cards and say it due to non usage for three months. Who purchase furniture every three months. This messed up my credit and now I am looking at reviews they do it all the time and that is not fair.

Lost job and got behind on my care credit! No matter how much extra you pay showing you are trying to get caught up. They start blowing your phone up. Each time I speak with them it’s like talking to a wall. I am in the lending business this is very unacceptable. I am also paying for hearing aids that I can not use during the week at work. Over a 10 day period I tried to transfer an ira to this bank. Their system wouldn’t allow me to access their online banking. I placed multiple calls, always being placed on hold. Again and again. They finally fedexed me a code, call again, placed on hold multiple times again. Opening an account shouldn’t be thus hard. I’m bringing them business. Why did they create such a difficult process? I finally just gave up and went to another institution. Wasted 10 days of effort!

I went to discount tire to get new tires. Offer was interest free for 6 months. I paid off my balance in 5. Now I am fighting a fraud charge and they are saying it's me. I live on the east coast and charge was in California. I have never been to California in my life and have no family there! This company is the fraud! My credit will be ruined. I will have to get a lawyer to fight them and see a class action lawsuit coming. DO NOT USE SYCRONY! I was hung up on multiple times and left on hold to rot by the indian cartel. I repeat! Do NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

Recently charged 300 in Interest when I was told there would be no interest for 6 months. So that means they just piled up the interest and tacked it all on in the seventh month. I pay more than the minimum every month and they are making it so I can’t even pay off a small loan of 3k. I’ve payed this company over 500 in Interest and late fees on a 3k loan! That’s insane!!!!! Stay away if you’re struggling financially. These people are sharks.

Syncrony bank will automatically renew your CD without your knowledge or approval. Once renewed, its very difficult to get your money back. My CD matured on March 31. On April 1 they renewed it. I noticed on April 3 and told them that is not what I wanted. They said it would cost me $800 to get my money back. On top of that, they have been telling me for the last week that my money would be returned "today" and they still have my money.

Synchrony bank Credit cards are not suitable for business owners. My cards keep getting declined for nonexistent, but suspected, fraud. To reconcile, it typically takes 45 to 60 minutes, proving my identity 4 different ways and repeating my contact information three and sometimes four times to different people. I have to get offline, take a video of myself and relog in where I go to the back of the line and have to, once again, prove my identity. If your time is worth anything, you will use a different card. I have had it and I will cancel this account after I've cooled down.

A dentist sent two fraudulent charges on my CARE CREDIT CARD for procedures he did not perform. An x-ray and my ledger as evidence I proved those procedures we’re not performed, but the dispute dept. sided with the crooked dentist. I am not paying a loan for procedures I didn’t have , so my card was cancelled, and a report sent to the credit bureau. Don’t use this bank - don’t use their CARE CREDIT card. The bank has terrible reviews . Synchrony Bank lost two big customers recently — they are no longer the issuer of GAP and WALMART credit cards

They will ruin your credit score, lower your credit limit, and close your account for being a GOOD CUSTOMER...UNBELIEVABLE!! My Ashley Home Store account was closed because I never used it....my Lowe's account was closed because I was (1) day late making a payment. My JC Penney & Belk credit limit was lowered, which resulted in my credit score taking a plunge. This company will do major damage to your credit score. STAY AWAY!!

Got notice today that BP is jumping ship. This ‘bank’ has a habit of requiring payment by the 19th of each month. Then they extend the charges billed long after. Called to see why my bill wasn’t closed by the 28th this month. Said they were closing the next day. Looks like they try to collect as much interest as they can in any way possible. Goodbye and good riddance!

This bank is garbage. Do not finance through them. The website is terrible. I have been trying to pay my bill for weeks and cannot get into my account. Password recovery fails. Username recovery fails. Paying as a guest doesn't work for any of my cards. My credit score is messed up now due to a bill I could easily pay to literally any other financial institution. Synchrony is not technically a scam but it is definitely predatory. I just paid my full bill just to get away from this bank. I will never finance with google or Synchrony again.

I opened a Money Market account and instead of using my personal information, they populated the security callback numbers with a long ago disconnected cell phone and with my current landline. Customer service was of no help, just repeating the line that they use third parties to populate their data . My current cell phone, which is so customer service could see, can not be used to verify my identity, only a disconnected cell or the landline. Do I have to now take my house phone with me when I leave home? /s

I applied for a Sam's club MasterCard through this bank. I was told by customer service at Sam's that I would receive a $100 dollar credit when my account was opened. I received a letter from Synchrony stating that my account would receive a $30 dollar credit. I called customer service to cancel the card and ask that nothing go against my credit report. They said I would have to do that on my own. Poor customer service and I personally do not want to deal with a company that uses under hand tactics to get my business

Have had accounts with this bank for years with no problem. Opened an eBay Mastercard was accepted with a $7500 limit. Went to charge $600 and was turned down. No one would talk to me about this until threatened to close all the other accounts and then was told due to inactivity on the NEW card which I hadn't even received yet was why I couldn't charge over $500 .until I proved my credit worthiness. I have perfect credit with this bank and couldn't believe this happened!! Will be cancelling other accounts. Do Not do business with this bank!!

I had an Old Navy account. I hadn’t used it in about 6 months, didn’t owe anything on it and they closed my account today, saying the reason for doing so was because I have other credit cards with high balances . Not true!, that my credit score decreased since opening the account. Not true either ! Oh, and that the account had not been used in awhile. Beware of doing business with this bank!

Me and my wife have worked so hard on our credit. So we decided to write checks and mail them to them to pay them off along with most of our credit cards. A month later came the harassing phone calls. A late fee that in return caused another over the limit penalty along with calls everyday. They couldn’t find my payment. This trashed our credit. It wouldn’t have been enough for it to be one synchrony acct. It was three accounts that were perfect before they ignored my payment. Left a complaint on BBB to trigger a response back from them

The customer service component does not allow a customer to talk to a real person. Instead, one is put in a queue only allowing numerical choices. All I wanted to do was cancel my credit card because of $61 of fabricated late fees. I will never recommend this bank to anyone. Discount Tire does its loyal customers a disservice aligning their fine company with Synchrony.

What a shame shame on u is not a good review is going to make any difference but really I have been a Sam's Club and a card holder for Synchrony Bank for the longest I've always paid on time or always have paid over the minimum amount that has been needed throughout the epidemic and for One Missed payment that I happen to overlook that wasn't even much keeping my overall debt ratio under 20 you guys have the balls to drop my credit limit to a point where shopping at the store there is no point no worries I'm going to cancel this card with you guys

The absolute worst, they're basically a scam business, setup ridiculous products to rob customers, like charging a huge deferred interest even if you paid off the entire card. To top it off they will tack on ridiculous interest rates. They told me via the phone, feel free to complain and we can help you document the complain but we're not dropping any of our charges. It's a scam business that has partner with Living Spaces to rip off customers. Don't get anything from either company.

They FAILED to take the mandated IRS required 10% witholding tax from a scheduled withdrawal from my IRA account. Yesterday, Pamela, told me it was an ERROR, but! They refused to make me whole and fix it. Today, I reported them to the IRS via our US Congressman's office via Email, Jamaal B. They still are "holding" US Treasury funds! That's fraud. ZERO "stars" should be choice here, not one! My impression is that they are doing this to keep their balance sheet artificially high, so they can get more cash from the Fed. Reserve Bank. We will see what develops from this situation.

I have a Lazy Boy account that I haven't used in a couple of years, so, without notification to me, Synchrony reduced the credit limit by $2500 which in turn lowered my credit score. Checking my score is how I found out the credit limit was lowered. So, I called and cancelled this account which will further reduce my credit score, but I don't care. I am tired of doing business with companies that don't deserve my business. As soon as I pay off my Care Credit account this month, I'll close that account also.

I would buy on Amazon and even though I would charge it to my personal credit card or gift card it would STILL wind up on this stupid synchrony bank amazon card. Every month I would log in to pay the payment and it would say my info was wrong. So I closed the account, not one but 3 times before they ever actually closed it. Horrible, partnership and bank. When I wanted to close the account they never even tried to make it good for me. They just do not care!!!!

I received a letter yesterday that my CD had renewed into another 2 year term at a measly 0.65%. I called today to terminate the CD. I spoke to the first agent and a manager but both were inflexible about the >$60 termination fee. There is no way to set the CD renewal/termination options online. Customers must call the bank to do this. I'm taking all of my money out of this bank.

First I had a credit card limit of 3000 dollars with Rooms to Go who told me I had 5 years to pay this off. I Missed one payment and they reduced my credit limit to 2500 dollars before I knew it. They review your credit report often I am told and this was most likely a factor. I miss another payment a few months later and they have CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND REPORTED MY WHOLE BALANCE TO CREDIT REPORT. They will ruin your credit. I will never get a credit card with them again if I can help it.

Stay Away from all Sychrony Bank Cards. They are crooks. I have 2 CC's from Furniture Stores. They will take additional funds from your account for no reason. They never have an exact answer to your question. They charge you to talk to a live person. If you have to shop at any of their stores, use cash. They even hold checks to the very last second making your usual monthly payment late. Don't close your accounts. This will cause a credit drop. Just leave it at zero balance and leave your future headache's behind. A loan shark would be an easier choice.

The absolute WORST company I’ve ever dealt with, enough to nearly give my wife a nervous breakdown. Our primary issue is the denial of charges on our credit card from major fortune 100 companies on the premise they are fraud. All with no recourse to unblock the charges. Trying to communicate with the foreign CS people they hire is like translating a foreign language by phone and no supervisor to speak with. It’s take it or leave it and we are leaving it. Don’t make the same mistake.

Looks like the Synchrony Bank holds payments sent by mail, processing them on the next day after due date, than charges the fee and very high interest charge. I send payments by mail 10 - 14 days prior to the due date along with other payments, all other payments processed 3 - 4 days later, the Synchrony bank holds the payment to be able to charge the fee. Really bad proctice, I think, it should be investigated.

I have auto pay and have paid two years with no charges being made to my jcpenny account and it says I have late payment and my balance has maxed out what started as 300. In charges to the card is now 1083. Have called and inquired why and the lady in Idia where the customer care center is says as she reads the computer screen im sorry I can't help you with that because we can only see what you owe not your charging activity but we appreciate your auto pay enrollment and great payment history..SYNCHRONY BANK IS CROOKS AND ARE FRAUDING PEOPLE!

IF NO STARS WAS AN OPTION…. I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH SYNCHRONY BANK. IT AUTOMATICALLY CLOSES PEOPLES CARDS KNOWING IT AFFECTS PEOPLES CREDIT, ITS DISGUSTING. I HAVE NOT MISSED ONE PAYMENT. I had the Care Credit card. I had not used it and the balance was 0. Out of nowhere one day I received a significant drop in my credit score because Synchrony bank dropped my credit usage from about 1300 to around $500. I can't remember the exact about but it made my credit score go down 15 points. I didn't receive anything in the mail, and as I stated before my balance was 0 and I always paid them on time. Then about 4 months later I receive a letter saying they have closed my account with no notice, which again made my credit score drop. I will Never use them again.

When I got home I called them, to find out what happened???) The Customer Rep hung up on me! The end of the call survey got an earful. We had a rooms to go credit card it had a $1000 limit , we bought furniture for $800. The very first month they dropped our limit to $800. I paid half the balance the next month , so should have roughly $400 debt and $400 credit , of course , minus interest etc . The next month I go to pay and the account is closed , no letter , no explanation , no answers. Nope never again, furniture fell apart within 6 months , no recourse and then this … I’ll not shop here again , even with cash , poor customer service , poor business practices…

Dishonest customer service. I asked if they hadn't any instrument with higher yield than the .25% on their 6 month CD. They said nothing higher for that period. I later discovered that their savings account offered doubled that rate with no penalty for withdrawal. When I inquired about this, they informed me that the customer has to do their own research. I was forced to take significant penalty when I cashed the CD.

The worst bank. Statements are made to make you make a mistake and pay interest. They only include minimum, current balance and all your purchases with numbers that make no sense. I have to ask them every month how much I have to pay to avoid interest and I have to ask multiple times until I get an amount that more than one agent know because guess what? This company has the most incompetent customer service staff I have ever experienced. They fat fingered my routing number which caused my auto payments to be rejected then tried to spin it on me and the bank I used to submit the payments. Amazon should partner with another bank that knows how to treat their customers. All that money and they are shortchanging their customers with poor customer service and incompetent staff.
