If I could give half a star I would. After having to deal with their automated system because they had ALL of my information incorrect so I couldn't access my account... I vow to NEVER use this bank or its services again. Never have I had such an issue or the amount of frustration this has caused. One word: TERRIBLE.

Synchrony bank credit cards routinely cancel credit cards and lower credit limits even if you pay you bills and are never late or over your credit limit. By doing this it lowers your credit score which allows them to charge you higher interest if you want to get your limit raised again. Crooked business practice.

Synchrony closed my Lowes account because an ACH payment failed. I do not know reason for the failure. I paid in full from another bank account. However, Synchrony is falsely reporting the account as "settled" rather than "closed" which says I did not pay the pay the full amount. They are the worst bank I've ever dealt with and I will never get another account with them. I think poorly of Lowes for choosing to do business with this dishonest company.

Due to past mistakes and the pandemic, being a single mom, losing my job, and getting behind is my fault, but to let someone open a secured credit card from amazon and then they close it without warning because of that past is seriously messed up. Next time don't let the person open it. I was in good standing and paid my bill on time. I wouldn't recommend them for anything.

Synchrony Bank ran my credit without notifying me and reduced half of the approved credit claiming that they were doing it on a regular basis and that it was in the regularity part. I spent all night looking for it and never found where it was written. In addition to that, they added more interest than allowed. I hope JC Penney reacts because they could lose a lot of customers to imposter banks like Synchrony Bank.

I've been trying to pay on my Amazon card for two months. I've been trying to use their app. I've been trying to use their computer website. Neither work. Then they charge me for being late. I can't be on time if you won't let me pay on time. They have this note that pops up saying sorry were having issues please try back later. We'll hell, I've been trying for two months. Then they lowered my credit limit by 70%. WTF

Just opened HYS account and attempted to transfer $10K into the account from external bank. Received an email stating the account is suspended and need to call customer service. Put on hold for 30+ minutes only to be told there's technical glitch with transfer system on its system and no ETA. I can't trust this bank with my money if they can't even get their things together. Closed my newly opened account and move to another bank with better customer service and wants my money.

Month after month, Synchrony's computer will not recognize the correct log-in data, either at the hyperlinked log-page or any other site they say is "correct." Try to pay by telephone, and you may wait for hours and never get picked up. heir attitude is that you are privileged to be their customer. i pay the entire billed amount monthly and have now paid the entire balance. i will never use their card again. Arrogance and incompetence is not an attractive mix.

Synchrony Bank is a vulture capitol bank. They buy out credit card accounts like Lowes, HSN, QVC, Sams Club, and many others and begin closing accounts that have been in good standing for years. And they give no warning of the take over so account holders can flee before the takeover and adverse action. Stay away from this company at all cost. If you have an account with them, it's only a matter of time before they hatchet your account.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️ IF you are struggling with credit do not look here. Though it may sound good, this BANK destroys your credit and with NO WARNING. I lost over 100 pts in one day with this bank and NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT. They run your credit every 3 months and in return DROPS your credit limit to make it look like a new account. This is HORRIBLE and a scam! Why would someone drop Your score when you NEVER BEEN LATE OR MISSED A PAYMENT..if i could give them a negative 0 i WOULD! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK!

I agree with ALL of these negative reviews. This company is horrible and their customer service is even worse! Just like everyone on here, they'll give you an offer for a card and then take away or close your accounts without warning or notice. Stay far away from this company if you're trying to build your credit! I wish I would've read about them before applying. Glad I am almost done with them. I would give them -0 stars if possible.

I opened a new Lowes card last year after I moved and was given a credit limit of $5k. By the time I received my card, my credit line was decreased to $4k. I used my card 3 days ago to charge $65. Today I received an electronic letter that my credit line has been reduced to $100. I paid off my $65 balance and told them what they could do with their card.

I was forced to use Synchrony Bank after purchasing a washer/dryer from Warner Stellian and wanted to finance. Although it was MY error that I set up my auto payment for 24 months vs 18 months, I received no email notification or anything letting me know my promotional balance period was ending and had to pay over $1000 in interest. This bank does not care about you and only wants more of your money. BE CAREFUL if you have a payment plan through them.

We got new gutters and they offered synchrony to finance. We set it up over the phone. We put it on auto pay and months later find out we are being charged some outrageous security charge each month dor protection that we NEVER asked for and we were never told about. When we called to ask what it was, the rep even said yeah you probably weren't told about it. We have been trying to call and dispute it but getting someone on the phone who can fix it is providing difficult. Absolute scam. Ive also found that Synchrony has had a few class action lawsuits. I can see why.

I was speaking to your customer service representative around 2.40pm and he was so rude. It was a male representative and he was so rude. If he is lazy or don’t have customer service skills then he better not in that field. So lazy, no phone adequate and so rude to the customer. I then called them second time and spoke to a girl who was so patient and kind but the gentleman that I spoke to earlier must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. I called regards the Amazon credit card account.

Absolutely the most corrupt garbage creditor in the United States. Even when being contacted and told about hardships causing delays in payments just a week or two past due dates they take action against customers. They report accounts as being more delinquent than they actually are and lower credit lines or close them for no reason. They actively seek to tank customers credit reports as if that is the only purpose and source joy they have in life.

Whatever you do do not open a credit card account with this bank it will be of no use to you within 2 years they give you a high credit limit and then out of the blue for no reason they drop your limit down to the balance you owe with no warning or explanation . One day you go to use your card and it’s declined and you don’t know why you’ve never been late always paid on time but they have went into your account and trim the limit they are pathetic.

After opening an online account and depositing $10,000 into Synchrony bank, they restricted my account and demanded I send a notarized copy of an ID(DL) I already sent an unnotarized copy of my drivers license. 5 calls later no one can tell me why my ID needs to be notarized. I found no documentation anywhere that states anyone's ID needs to be notarized . I suspect it is because I am African American . I will get notarized and immediately close my account and will consider additional actions . My account was opened over a month and a half ago and it is still restricted !

Synchrony bank screwed my credit over, they closed out my account with Sleep number for no reason, I have never missed a payment and my account was almost paid off. I never received any letter. They are horrible now I have to pay off any other cards with them These are very bad people I am not they only one they have done this to. They are the lowest of the lowest they will also for no reason lower your available credit also someone needs to stop them. Thank you Synchrony for ruining my credit.

After I paid off my account. 3 months later they decrease my credit limit and then not long after they closed my account because it drop 7 points below 650. Now my score is going to drop even more because of this crap. Had I known this would happen I would have NEVER opened an account with them. I paid off the account before the promotional 0% Apr was over. Thus bank sucks. Stay clear.

They lack proper communication. They closed my account without notifying me. I made errors when entering my payment information so the initial payment did not go through, but the subsequent ones did. They closed my account, no letter, no email, I found out through my credit report monitoring account. The only reason I got the card was for dental work and now I can't even use it.

Really bad credit card issuer. I almost never was able to talk to customer service. It's hard to find the number to contact and when you do, you get auto prompts that keeps you in a loop. If you by sheer persistence make it to be directed to a live person, the line either drops, or they transfer you to someone else where the line drops again. Twice someone finally answered, but then pretended that they can't hear me and dropped the line!

Every account I have that was taken over by Synchrony has had the credit limit dropped to the amount owed! No matter how long I have had an account with the creditor, nor the status. Most recently was my PayPal credit which I have had for years and pay over the minimum each month. I was livid when I saw that they dropped my credit to what was owed. Synchrony has single handedly been responsible for my credit score dropping because putting my credit at what is owed has increased my utilization even with no purchases. I really feel this is an unfair credit practice.

I've closed two accounts now, because Synchrony ignored properly submitted and documented Legal Name Changes for over a year on more than one account. even worse, once I got them to process the change on one particular account after multiple contacts, my name was actually spelled wrong. I couldn't believe it. Even the SSA was less trouble than this entity. Good riddance.

My Home card was randomly closed stating future likelihood of no payments. I have had this card for about 5 years, in addition to a Care Credit card for even longer. I have never been over limit nor have I missed a payment. My credit score was lowered because of this, and customer service transferred me to a "manager", and then the call was disconnected. I will look for every location to which I can submit a poor review.

I would give zero stars if possible. Synchrony Bank will close accounts for no good reason. My account was at a zero balance with no late fees, yet they decided they would just close my account. I’m annoyed how this will reflect in my credit score now. They did this on another account my spouse and I had with zero late payments that we were making more than the minimum balance on. This company makes no sense and is a joke. Run far away from them!!

Chared me a large unjustified late fee and also charged interst @ 27% This is for being 2 weeks late in paying a Sam's membership fee (which is optional because I do not have to extend my membership) on a Sam's account that had never had a late payment since its inception in 1991. I will be paying Sam's in a different way in the future.

They issued the incorrect 1099 form and after 4 phone calls they still have not sent the correct 1099. This is clearly their fault but they do not seem to care. Each time we have called and each time they have said 2 weeks. That has not happened. We are seriously thinking of closing both of our accounts because of the lack of consideration one their part. Had a perfect payment history for over a year and then paid off the balance. Right afterwards they reduced my available credit from $1200 to $299 for no valid reason. Customer service advised that it had to do with a credit review in which I have a perfect payment history on all of my accounts. I promptly closed my account and they were not upset or concerned at all. I will never apply for any credit line with their name attached to it in the future.

I never missed a payment, on this account…or any of my credit card payments, This company reduces my limit every time I made a payment in 2022 until they reduced it by 1000$ On both cards …..this tanks my credit score to the mid 600s ….BOO on you !! They closed my account without warning. They said they emailed me and called me about a payment that didn’t got through for $43 and they did not. Once the account was closed and I refused to pay the remaining balance then they wanted to start calling and emailing me daily. They have no consideration towards their customers and it’s no wonder they are a pathetic excuse of a card company and the day they’re shut down would be a happy day for me for being this inconsiderate.

I've been trying to make security deposit for my Amazon Secured Card. It goes through them. I have attempted to use 2 different banks' debit cards (one is a savings and other is credit account) and my bank's credit card. It always says not allowed and invoice buying not permitted. And when I've called them there is no prompts for such issue. You have to button mash. Then they don't want to help you. Pass you back to Amazon which can't help with the issue.

This company has been a nightmare to my life not once but twice. I had the auto pay option which it should have been charge $54 a month instead both times they charged the full Amount of $1,800. Leaving me with negative charges to my bank accounts. The first time they gave me my money back right away talking about it’s a glitch in the system. The second time I was passed around and finally said we will mail you a check in 3-5 days. It’s been 2 weeks and nothing. Please absolutely don’t ever finance with this company.

The phone is answered by people in foreign countries rather than a person in the United States. I have spent hours & hours trying to pay bills on their website & am rarely successful. Their website never recognizes me. When I try to pay as a guest & fill in all the spaces on the form (credit card number, last four SS numbers & my zip code) their website stops working.

If I could give synchrony bank a zero I would. I had Verizon Device Dollars that were supposed to be matched by the bank if I opened a credit card. Needless to say they were never were. I’ve called for 6 months now asking where they are and today was basically told it was never a promotion and hung up on. Is this what customer service has come to? If you are in this situation with the device dollars please respond. I know I can’t be the only person scammed by Synchrony and Verizon.

"If a payment is received after the due date, but before the next statement is sent out, it will be applied towards the previous month’s due date. Additionally, if a payment is received on the same day the statement is sent out, this payment will be applied to the previous month’s due date as well". This is the explanation they gave for charging frequent late fees, I keep paying too early! I make extra payments and pay ahead, but if my payments arrive on the wrong day, I am charged late fees. I'm 2 payments ahead but that doesn't matter. I don't plan to deal with this company again.

I had great credit with then always pay even when it's not time to pay, 1 month my account did not have enough money in it to pay them I call the company to speak to the manager to ask if they can just excuse this 1 time late charge he told me no so I say when I finish paying off my account am closing the account the manager was so Arrogant, he went ahead and close my account, and my other 2 accounts which I have in good standing I did not owe them not even a penny and he close my accounts. Fair warning do not open an account with this company they will ruin your credit for no reason.

I had a cop show up at my front door with papers. I never knew the power and arm muscle they had behind this bank. They have no mercy on the amount of income you bring in and will sue you if you don't pay. These jive turkeys were looking for me in the army and national reserve to get their money. They don't care on the amount of you can pay monthly on the account. I had to struggle to find another job to pay on this account. I wish I never would have signed up at the register for this credit card. Please tell others not to do business with them.

Now they have secretly lowered the transferred limits. Can't find the info anywhere on the website. Wouldn't let me take out more than 25000 in one day. Now they won't let me take anymore money out the next day. When will they ever let me get the rest of my money out?

Ultimately I had to pay over $500 more than I should have due to incredible miscommunication and inefficiency between Synchrony Bank and Ashley Home Furnishings (where Synchrony provided financing for furniture I purchased ). I STRONGLY caution anyone from doing business with either of these organizations. Or, more accurately - "disorganizations".

Very shady company. I’ve had a credit card from one of Synchrony’s partners for almost two years. Every time I make a payment, which I always do well before the due date and never go over my limit, they take the funds from my bank account right away but then take another week or more to post my updated available balance. They’re sitting on that money and drawing interest but delaying allowing the customer to access it. They need to be investigated.

Totally frustrating experience. Made application for tjmax card in store . told me to speak to someone to verify info . Called number 4 different occasions no answer. 5th time I spoke to someone who sent me to a website. which would never open. Got a letter and called that number and the rep wanted me to go to the same website that never opened. Just a stupid disorganized mess and waste of time.
