They lack proper communication. They closed my account without notifying me. I made errors when entering my payment information so the initial payment did not go through, but the subsequent ones did. They closed my account, no letter, no email, I found out through my credit report monitoring account. The only reason I got the card was for dental work and now I can't even use it.

Really bad credit card issuer. I almost never was able to talk to customer service. It's hard to find the number to contact and when you do, you get auto prompts that keeps you in a loop. If you by sheer persistence make it to be directed to a live person, the line either drops, or they transfer you to someone else where the line drops again. Twice someone finally answered, but then pretended that they can't hear me and dropped the line!

Every account I have that was taken over by Synchrony has had the credit limit dropped to the amount owed! No matter how long I have had an account with the creditor, nor the status. Most recently was my PayPal credit which I have had for years and pay over the minimum each month. I was livid when I saw that they dropped my credit to what was owed. Synchrony has single handedly been responsible for my credit score dropping because putting my credit at what is owed has increased my utilization even with no purchases. I really feel this is an unfair credit practice.

I've closed two accounts now, because Synchrony ignored properly submitted and documented Legal Name Changes for over a year on more than one account. even worse, once I got them to process the change on one particular account after multiple contacts, my name was actually spelled wrong. I couldn't believe it. Even the SSA was less trouble than this entity. Good riddance.

My Home card was randomly closed stating future likelihood of no payments. I have had this card for about 5 years, in addition to a Care Credit card for even longer. I have never been over limit nor have I missed a payment. My credit score was lowered because of this, and customer service transferred me to a "manager", and then the call was disconnected. I will look for every location to which I can submit a poor review.

I would give zero stars if possible. Synchrony Bank will close accounts for no good reason. My account was at a zero balance with no late fees, yet they decided they would just close my account. I’m annoyed how this will reflect in my credit score now. They did this on another account my spouse and I had with zero late payments that we were making more than the minimum balance on. This company makes no sense and is a joke. Run far away from them!!

Website is buggy at times, but a call to tech support usually resolves things. Just remember to pay off your bill off BEFORE a promo period expires. Good for pet insurance. YMMV Though.

Synchrony BAnk Sucks. Chared me a large unjustified late fee and also charged interst @ 27% This is for being 2 weeks late in paying a Sam's membership fee (which is optional because I do not have to extend my membership) on a Sam's account that had never had a late payment since its inception in 1991. I will be paying Sam's in a different way in the future.

They issued the incorrect 1099 form and after 4 phone calls they still have not sent the correct 1099. This is clearly their fault but they do not seem to care. Each time we have called and each time they have said 2 weeks. That has not happened. We are seriously thinking of closing both of our accounts because of the lack of consideration one their part. VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE>

Had a perfect payment history for over a year and then paid off the balance. Right afterwards they reduced my available credit from $1200 to $299 for no valid reason. Customer service advised that it had to do with a credit review in which I have a perfect payment history on all of my accounts. I promptly closed my account and they were not upset or concerned at all. I will never apply for any credit line with their name attached to it in the future.

I never missed a payment, on this account…or any of my credit card payments, This company reduces my limit every time I made a payment in 2022 until they reduced it by 1000$ On both cards …..this tanks my credit score to the mid 600s ….BOO on you !! They closed my account without warning. They said they emailed me and called me about a payment that didn’t got through for $43 and they did not. Once the account was closed and I refused to pay the remaining balance then they wanted to start calling and emailing me daily. They have no consideration towards their customers and it’s no wonder they are a pathetic excuse of a card company and the day they’re shut down would be a happy day for me for being this inconsiderate.

I've been trying to make security deposit for my Amazon Secured Card. It goes through them. I have attempted to use 2 different banks' debit cards (one is a savings and other is credit account) and my bank's credit card. It always says not allowed and invoice buying not permitted. And when I've called them there is no prompts for such issue. You have to button mash. Then they don't want to help you. Pass you back to Amazon which can't help with the issue.

This company has been a nightmare to my life not once but twice. I had the auto pay option which it should have been charge $54 a month instead both times they charged the full Amount of $1,800. Leaving me with negative charges to my bank accounts. The first time they gave me my money back right away talking about it’s a glitch in the system. The second time I was passed around and finally said we will mail you a check in 3-5 days. It’s been 2 weeks and nothing. Please absolutely don’t ever finance with this company.

The phone is answered by people in foreign countries rather than a person in the United States. I have spent hours & hours trying to pay bills on their website & am rarely successful. Their website never recognizes me. When I try to pay as a guest & fill in all the spaces on the form (credit card number, last four SS numbers & my zip code) their website stops working.

If I could give synchrony bank a zero I would. I had Verizon Device Dollars that were supposed to be matched by the bank if I opened a credit card. Needless to say they were never were. I’ve called for 6 months now asking where they are and today was basically told it was never a promotion and hung up on. Is this what customer service has come to? If you are in this situation with the device dollars please respond. I know I can’t be the only person scammed by Synchrony and Verizon.

"If a payment is received after the due date, but before the next statement is sent out, it will be applied towards the previous month’s due date. Additionally, if a payment is received on the same day the statement is sent out, this payment will be applied to the previous month’s due date as well". This is the explanation they gave for charging frequent late fees, I keep paying too early! I make extra payments and pay ahead, but if my payments arrive on the wrong day, I am charged late fees. I'm 2 payments ahead but that doesn't matter. I don't plan to deal with this company again.

I had great credit with then always pay even when it's not time to pay, 1 month my account did not have enough money in it to pay them I call the company to speak to the manager to ask if they can just excuse this 1 time late charge he told me no so I say when I finish paying off my account am closing the account the manager was so Arrogant, he went ahead and close my account, and my other 2 accounts which I have in good standing I did not owe them not even a penny and he close my accounts. Fair warning do not open an account with this company they will ruin your credit for no reason.

I had a cop show up at my front door with papers. I never knew the power and arm muscle they had behind this bank. They have no mercy on the amount of income you bring in and will sue you if you don't pay. These jive turkeys were looking for me in the army and national reserve to get their money. They don't care on the amount of you can pay monthly on the account. I had to struggle to find another job to pay on this account. I wish I never would have signed up at the register for this credit card. Please tell others not to do business with them.

STAY AWAY FROM SYNCHRONY! I've been a customer for 5 years. Had balances of several hundred thousand dollars. Transferred in and out 100,000 at a time. Now they have secretly lowered the transferred limits. Can't find the info anywhere on the website. Wouldn't let me take out more than 25000 in one day. Now they won't let me take anymore money out the next day. When will they ever let me get the rest of my money out?

Ultimately I had to pay over $500 more than I should have due to incredible miscommunication and inefficiency between Synchrony Bank and Ashley Home Furnishings (where Synchrony provided financing for furniture I purchased ). I STRONGLY caution anyone from doing business with either of these organizations. Or, more accurately - "disorganizations".

Very shady company. I’ve had a credit card from one of Synchrony’s partners for almost two years. Every time I make a payment, which I always do well before the due date and never go over my limit, they take the funds from my bank account right away but then take another week or more to post my updated available balance. They’re sitting on that money and drawing interest but delaying allowing the customer to access it. They need to be investigated.

Totally frustrating experience. Made application for tjmax card in store . told me to speak to someone to verify info . Called number 4 different occasions no answer. 5th time I spoke to someone who sent me to a website. which would never open. Got a letter and called that number and the rep wanted me to go to the same website that never opened. Just a stupid disorganized mess and waste of time.

Synchrony bank accidently drafted the entire balance of my loan from my checking account as opposed to the three hundred dollars I authorized. They left me overdrawn 1600.00 and told me it would take 3 weeks to return my money via snail me. Even though they left me penniless electronically with ease. After alerting their representative about the problem, they were still set up to remove the entire balance of my loan once a month.

Run! Run! Run! Going to close my account and never look back! I had a $1200 debt with them which I always paid on time, then suddenly, out of the blue, I was charged $550 plus in interest for 1 month. For what I asked them??. I called, I emailed, I questioned and I inquired…and got nothing… not even the courtesy of a response! Please... do yourself a big favor and stay away with them! Go somewhere else. I'd give them a zero if I could. Pay them off and get yourself outta there quick before you get screwed over! .. Do not trust this bank!!!!

Closed my account without any notice. Have never missed a payment and had $2000 limit. This is the third time having them lower my credit on two other cards. Same type of excuse they use. Never have had any problems like this with any other cards that I have. Tired of dealing with company that obviously doesn't care or want customers. Poorest excuse for customer service every time I tried to contact them. Stay away form Synchrony.

I have 3 credit cards with Sychrony from three different retail establishments . I signed up for the Ashley furniture 60 mo no interest payment for a Labor day sale. When I went into my online account they had scheduled full payment for over $3000! I went in and arranged a much lesser payment for the due date about 2 weeks ago and checked my bank account tonight and there is a full payment of the $3000+ pending! I have alerted my bank and will be calling Synchrony in the morning to retract that full payment amount! This is horrid.

They closed my JCPenny account without any prior notice. They claimed the credit bureaus had my balances on other credit cards as too high. Keep in mind, I only had a $100 credit line with JCP, and my account was in good standing as are my payment histories on those other accounts. Tried calling customer service to find out why and was told they sent a letter that never came. I have a 98% on-time payment history on my credit report. Synchrony Bank? FUHGEDDABOUTIT!

Customer service is trash. Had same issue since March 2022 and still dealt with it in September. Finally just closed my account but still wasn't even resolved. All the supervisors there have no idea what they are doing and when you ask to speak to their supervisor, they say there is no one above them. I know they aren't the bosses but try and act like it. Do not bank with them.

Synchrony financed my couch. I paid it in full, never missing a single payment. When the loan was completely paid off in the contract terms without a single missed payment or underpayment, I asked for the account to be closed. They refused and continued to access me a monthly "account fee" which I refused to pay. I asked MANY TIMES over TWO YEARS for the account to be closed. I paid my obligation IN FULL. They have completely ruined my perfect credit. I would NEVER consider financing with Synchrony ever again. They are a complete scam.

Horrible bank that has the worst customer service. I am a paypal customer and didn't realize they deal with this bank for credit. If they can't help you, they disconnect you pass you to account manager who give you the wrong info to resolve an issue or assure you they will take care of it and never gets done. Spends hours and months trying to resolve a very simple refund transaction and experienced the most horrible and unprofessional customer service.

This bank has been nothing but a nightmare. Twice I tried to pay with electronic transfer. I checked and they said I had a zero balance. Then I get a notice that I am late with my payment. I finally asked for my balance and sent them a check, I called them today for my balance and they said I owe another $30 for interest fees. Do not trust this bank! They use to be Allegro and Synchrony took over. I made June and July payment and I owe more now than when I started. Beware of this bank and read the reviews they have more complaints than good reviews.

Worst bank in the world. I let them know last month I was moving and gave them my new address. First they froze my account because I was getting an ADT alarm system installed and just today they froze it AGAIN because I was getting a new riding mower. BOTH to the new address they have on file. NOW THE KICKER....... they make you go through a FIVE step process to unfreeze your account..... to include a 5 second video of your face, photos of the front and back of your drivers licenses and they finally send you a verification code.

So if you are just charging & paying your good to go, but as soon as other services are needed their customer service is HORRIBLE! Do not believe what any rep tells you, including supposed managers! From July up to today, 9/6/22, I have spoken to various reps & managers & they all have told me different info.! The managers are the worst! I had a payment due for 30 some dollars I paid 3000 some thing and unfortunately paid it twice. I canceled one of the payments my bank canceled both. Synchrony retaliated by closing every synchrony account I have one by one stating it was because of a default payment. There was no default payment it was overpaid by $3000 and I was trying to stop it from putting my checking account in the negative

I just used the online chat function and the phone chat function and both of these people can not see any info on the accounts except how much you owe... I informed them that the bills are going to an address I had 5 years ago and not to the address I have on my bill from rooms to go. It was like pulling teeth to get them to correct thus error. Be prepared to call 5 different people to get a full answer to a simple question.

Synchrony bank credit cards have done more to damage my credit rating than any other entity even though I pay more than the minimum every month and on time they continue to lower my credit limit which of course lowers my credit score thru no fault of my own. I would like to know of any class action lawsuits as I believe it's very unfair of this bank to damage peoples credit scores when they are dealing with them in good faith.

I sent them a passport copy as the verification document like they asked. The scanned PDF document was in the highest resolution in the setting while being made. Later I asked why my application was declined, they told me they couldn't verify my ID. They were literally blind and still claimed it was blurry. This document has passed every ID verification internationally and this is the first time it failed. This is the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard in any application in my life. The truth is, they just wanted to steal my personal information.

They will ruin your credit if you are trying to rebuild. They do random credit pulls and if your score and utilization don’t match what they require they will close your account or lower your initial amount of credit to what ever you owe. Therefore it looks like you made a huge purchase and maxed out your card to the credit bureaus making you utilization increase which then hurts your score. A lot of people complains of this so save yourselves the headache I wish I read the reviews before applying and receiving this card.

I got a discount card for tires through synchrony Bank never use the car before I ran into an emergency used the card two days later I get a letter they does decreased my amount I never was late with them or anything it makes you not even want to do business with them I’m gonna pay it off and close the account I would never recommend this company to anyone. I have that card for seven months and never used it and soon as I use it you decrease it that’s dirty.

I recieved the card for gas purchases. After 30 days they raised my limit, after 69 days the cancelled my card and when I called to ask why, she stated my credit score went down. My credit score went down 5 points for using the card. Hahaha. She then stated I can reapply after my score goes back up. No way!! I will never use them again. My payments were always on time! I highly advise not to use them!!

I e been overcharged with my synchrony credit through PayPal , I made several payments over the phone with my credit card to them and they won’t apply it to the balance “ stating we don’t accept credit cards” well your employees accepted my credit card over the phone. They have charged me interest on 6- months promotional purchases that I paid off by the due date . Their wrecking my credit now because I’m refusing to pay them more when I don’t owe . They’vee got an app That's worthless because for whatever reason, you can never log into it without first calling their sorry asses to Re-Set your password.
