Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

In emergencies, you don’t always have access to a phone. Having a medical alert system means you can request help at any time with the press of a button. Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

When I test it every month, the people that answer have been very courteous, very thorough and made sure that nothing was wrong. I purchased it for my parents because they're elderly now, and both had strokes already. I know that if something goes wrong, they would call the emergency services. Plus, it's very easy to use, and if they can't get a hold of them, I get a phone call right away so I can go check on them. It helps me sleep at night, and it allows me to be at work without having to worry about my parent's wellbeing.
My father carries the devices with him during his daily routine. As far as emergencies, we haven't used it, however, the representatives have always been alright.
The gentlemen I spoke with was very nice, he was very friendly, very helpful. I'm on the go all the time, so I always have their watch or wristband with me. It's been a very good experience.
They are very patient every time I tested the device and spoke to them. We had no issues at all; they were just very nice, considering they were speaking to an 89 year old person.
I feel there was a misunderstanding with the representatives because I ordered it 10 days ago, and I have not received They should get the equipment to your customer a whole lot sooner.
I really don't like the necklace. The cord is kind of rough and it irritates my neck on the back. It looks kind of ugly around the neck as well. Besides that, I spoke to some very informative and helpful representatives. They were very good.
I wouldn't know how their people were because my brother handles that, however, I know it definitely works. I was asleep and I rolled over on the button by accident, and before I knew it, everybody showed up.
My daughter is disabled, so she usually wears it in the mornings and just takes it off at night. Medical Guardian has offered a positive experience; plus, their representatives were helpful.
This service makes me feel more confident and relieved each time I go out. I spoke to a lady through the phone, and she was very helpful. The fact of having it was great, and they answered instantly after we moved it near the window where we got better reception.
I purchased Medical Guardian for my dad; he falls from time to time. Speaking to them was good, I didn't have a problem with them. Thank goodness he hasn't had to use it yet.
Unfortunately, I have Parkinson's disease. After several falls, my wife and I decided I needed it, and it's worked just fine so far. If you ask me about the representatives, I would say they were great! They explained everything and were very helpful. They told me how everything works, and explained the key box and how to test it. They're just very well and very professional. I was very happy with them. I think they're better than any others that I talked to, and I like the fact that all of their operatives are here in the US, so that was good to hear.
Speaking to the representatives was great! Everyone was very helpful, and definitely provided us all the information we needed. My mother actually fell this weekend, and the experience was awesome! She pushed the button, and they responded immediately and got emergency services there. I think everything is great! Starting with the initial customer service representatives, when it came to buying it, to the actual shipping of the devices, to the ease of how to set it up and use it. They great all the way around.
My dad is an elderly person, and falls frequently, so we decided this would the best option for him. He wears the device around his neck, and although he has not used it yet, Medical Guardian has offered a very positive experience. We spoke to some really nice people on the phone.
Everything went very smooth with them. Their customer service agents explained everything, and sent the devices on time.
The last time I fell, I was outside, and unfortunately my husband didn't hear me, so now I wear the device each time I the house. My experience with the representatives has been very comforting, because they really are on the ball with this. I haven't used it yet, but I know everything will be taken care of in a quick manner if something happens to me.
It took them 1 minute for someone to respond the last time I called, so that was not a pleasant experience. The sales person, however, was very helpful when I first purchased it.
I purchased Medical Guardian for someone else because he is living in a different area that I am, and I felt he needed the assistance. My interaction with their representatives was pleasant. My suggestion would be a quicker and more thorough follow up to the people who purchased Medical Guardian, and that should be within a week after they received it.
I've only spoken with Medical Guardian once, really, and it was a very positive experience; the person was very patient and caring. I got the device for myself, I'm in my early 80's and I live alone and I'm always afraid of my fall or somebody even may try break in on me. I have not it had that long, and I have not had to use it yet. Wearing it, my day is absolutely normal. I get up and go over round doing my usual household routine, I go out, go shopping; just a regular normal life.
Medical Guardian's representatives were very polite and knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. We got it for my mother in case of a fall. She's typically at her apartment and she just started using it. She is just fine using it everyday, putting it on when she wakes up in the morning. She has not used it yet for help. It's been good so far.
I got Medical Guardian for myself, just for safety purposes. I haven't needed to use it yet, but we had a good experience working with their representatives.
We got it for someone else because she has fallen in the past. Both of us wear it during the day. We just started it last week and we simply tested it by calling and just telling the person who answered that we were testing it. He was very courteous and answered it right away. When I said that it was a test and he said "Thank you for calling.." and that everything is working fine. We have not had to used it in an emergency but we feel good about having that just in case we should have to call for help.
Medical Guardian's representative was excellent; she was very helpful, very knowledgeable. We got the device for my mother because she is living alone and she is elderly. She just wears it around her neck. Hopefully we won't be using it, that would be a good thing.
We've had a positive experience working with Medical Guardian's representatives. We got the device for my mother to use every day as a safety item, and we test it every week.
We got the system for my husband and because he's a tentative fall risk. I have to be able to go to work, and there have to be some ways for him to call for help. Typically he wears the button around his neck, and there's a room where he spends most of his time. He has had to use it twice, and on both occasions, both EMS and Fire Rescue have been sent out to the house. The first time we used the device there was a great deal of confusion on the part of the person answering our call. They made multiple calls, trying to determine if we wanted EMS sent out. We just needed someone to get there to help him! The second time went more smoothly, although I had specified that we only wanted a non-emergency lift assist, yet they sent EMS out anyway. So, I'm not quite certain how efficient the call center actually is.
So far, we haven't had to use Medical Guardian. We got it for my mom because she lives alone and she uses a walker to get around. Before we got it, she did fall and didn't have any way to get help. We got it as soon as that happened, so that if she had any more incidents, and I wasn't around to help, she would be able to use it. I wanted to be able to have something anytime she's walking around or in the shower so she has some kind of safety device to help her in case she falls or can't get up. Medical Guardian's representatives were really courteous, and they explained the whole system. We purchased the necklace and the bracelet together. We got the whole system within a week of ordering, and got it set up immediately and got it connected. We don't have any problem; it's really simple to set up. You just give the representative your numbers for your emergency contacts, and when you receive it, you plug it in and call them and tell them that you activated it. There was nothing to it, it was super simple!
My stepfather has problems with his sugar, so we purchased Medical Guardian for him. He uses it every day. Although we haven't had a significant experience using the service, I can say that the representative was very helpful. I really enjoyed talking to him.
They should have never sold it to me in the first place. Before selling it, they should sure their GPS coverage covers the area where they're selling their equipment. It doesn't work in my area, so now we have to send it back.
Although it's never been used, it's very comforting to know that it is here if I need it. The representative was very informative, very pleasant and thanks to what she said, I decided to take it.
The service is just for myself, I fell a few times last year and I live alone. Although I haven't had to use it yet, all the people I spoke with were very nice and good. They've offered a very positive experience.
I usually just use the device when I'm around the house, and I only spoke to the representatives the time I tested it. Besides that, the only feedback is that it's too large.
So far, they have offered a very positive experience. The people I spoke to were very helpful and answered all my questions. They did not pressure me into making a purchase. I always wear it, unless I'm with friends. People should take time to investigate, and I'm sure they will go with Medical Guardian; they offer things that other companies do not.
We purchased Medical Guardian for my 81-year-old mother. She wears the wristband every day, all day. Whenever she goes out of the house, she takes the little GPS box with her, in case something happens. The reps? They were great! When I initially reached out for more information, they called back within like 30 minutes. We ordered everything and got it between 8 and 9 days. Besides that, I would recommend to add a more descriptive user guide. A more general description of which device is used for what, is one thing that could have helped my mother.
I really haven't had an occasion to have to use it, however, I do like the fact that when I press the button, people talk back to me. The device just goes around my neck and I can do my chores without a problem. It doesn't get in my way at all. Also, the representatives have always been very nice and helpful.
I already had another one before, but you couldn't speak into the button like this one. Plus, I can take it with me to different states, so that's good. Besides that, I think the pendant is way too large.
Speaking with the representatives was very fun! I just wear it around my neck without a problem.
My father-in-law had a friend that fell and nobody found him until 2 days later, so he decided to get something that would help him in case he fell. I like that the representatives were very helpful, very kind, and answered all questions. They'd let me call back, ask more questions after we set it up, and let us test it. It's been a positive experience.
Speaking to them was wonderful! The representative answered all my questions, and I told him that I would get back with him in two weeks. He only called me once a week to check on me, just as I had requested. My mother was in rehab, so I couldn't really buy it just yet, and he fulfilled all my expectations. A couple of companies I checked before Medical Guardian still keep calling me. I would definitely recommend the representative I spoke with. and I would give him the highest marks you could possibly give somebody.
We haven't had to use it yet, but it's just a relief to know that it's there if needed. The representatives were really helpful, and a person came online each time we tested the unit. They were really nice and easy to deal with. They seem to pick up pretty quickly too. We've had limited experience using it, but it has helped us immensely.
So far, my father hasn't set off the alert system, however, he takes it with him whenever he leaves the building. The Customer Service representatives have always been very helpful, and I'm very satisfied with the service so far.
I was a little disappointed in the communication at the beginning. I only really talked to the representative once, and then I talked to somebody else. The first person never got back to me. There were times when they didn't answer the phone when I had questions for them; when I was considering buying it and so forth. I had problems with the salesman, he said he would get it tomorrow, and it didn't come for another week.
The salesman was easy to deal with, but when I went activate it, it didn't have the correct parts and that was not a good experience I spoke to someone at the cancellation department and got it solved, however, I still haven't been able to activate it.
It's been a great comfort and help to know that my mother has been able to have it. We've done the testing and things like that, and it's great to know that she has that support. Plus, the person we spoke with was very helpful.
My mother was happy with the experience. She called to get it set up and everything went well, so she was happy with them. Everything just seems to be working fine.
We purchased the service for my mother that lives in another state, and I was under the impression that there was an online portal based on the product they had. I ordered the most expensive product and paid for it upfront, only to discover that it didn't have some features that less expensive products had.
Although I haven't had it very long, I did make a mistake and hit the button by mistake. The people came on right away asked if I was okay, so it works well. I called to request the necklace instead of the wrist thing, and they were very nice.
The representatives were very helpful and offered a positive experience. Fortunately, my wife hasn't had to use it, but it's worked fine.
Besides having to test it, I haven't used the service. When it came to calling them, the machine just says it will take a minute, but it definitely seems longer than that. It just keeps calling and calling and calling. Also, I think the monitor should be hooked up outside because of the signal. It's currently in the living room, and I think the reception might not be as good there.
I chose Medical Guardian because I saw good reviews about them. The gentleman I worked with was good! He was very knowledgeable and followed up on the requests I had, and answered all my questions thoroughly. My mother lives alone, so we thought his would be a good thing for her. So far, it's worked just fine.
It's a great service! The representatives were fantastic, and although I've never used it, it's been a very positive experience so far.
The person I purchased the service for has not been able to use it. However, when it comes to communicating with me and the experience purchasing the system, I would say I'm definitely satisfied with it.
