Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Medical Guardian has a new high-tech medical alert device that is a smartwatch for seniors called The Freedom Guardian. This new medical alert watch is designed to be sleek and convenient to wear every day. The Freedom Guardian doesn't need a base unit to connect to, and you can wear it with you anywhere you go.
Caregivers or family members can download the Companion mobile app to communicate with Freedom Guardian wearers at any time as well as track their current location.
The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

My nephew decided to get this for me. He came with his wife to spend some time with me and he just told me he had gotten something for me in the mail. He told me what it was and that I needed to wear it every day. He didn't really force me to wear it, I just started doing it, and I'm glad that I did. I just put it on in the morning when I get up to do my breakfast. I also take it with me when I go too town and go to the YMCA and walk around for a bit. They're good, but there is always some room for improvement.
After reading online reviews, I thought it'd be good to get it. I barely ever run into any issues with them. About 2 weeks ago, my dad had a stroke while my mom was there. She pressed the button and they were able to get a hold of us and some help. The only thing is that it'd be nice if they made it so that there was a mic and speaker on the actual device rather than having it all on the base station.

We're happy that were able to help out your father when he needed us. We hope he is doing well. Regarding a device with a mic and speaker on the actual device, we do offer this functionality with our Active Guardian unit. The Active Guardian is a mobile all-in-one solution that you can wear around your neck while at home and on the go. If you are interested in hearing more about the Active Guardian, reply directly to this message and we will reach out with additional information.
I got it after I had an incident where I passed out and fell on the floor. I laid there for quite a while before I could get to my cellphone. After I got out of the hospital I decided to just get Medical Guardian. It has been working out great for me. At first I was scared that I would hit the button by mistake, but that hasn't happened yet. Their customer service has been very helpful and open. I've called them three times already with some questions and they have always given me good responses. It has given me a whole lot of comfort to know that I can get help just by pushing a button.
My husband was the one that did the research on it all and picked it based on the reviews he saw. My father in law is the one that has it. We live with him, but he had to use it once when he fell. Everything worked out fine, they responded quickly.
My daughter in law was the one that decided to get it for me. It usually sits on my bureau, I haven't had to use it really. It's there if I need it and whenever call customer support the people are there for me. They were also great when I was just signing up.
We got it as a recommendation from someone. Fortunately I have not had to use it for anything other than testing. Still, they are prompt to answer and always very polite. They could get better designs for ladies, I don't like the black cord for the button that goes around my neck. It doesn't match well when I'm dressing up.
I had been living with my daughter until I decided to move back to our home town. Since she didn't think I should be living alone by myself at my age, she got it for me. I wear it around my neck and have had a positive experience so far. I haven't had to use it, but it's probably a wonderful service. If anything were to happen to me I'd be glad to have it.
My daughter recommended the service to me, so I got it. I used it once when I became ill and needed help. I was in a parking lot about 60 miles away from my home. They did have some difficulty with the GPS at first and had some trouble locating me. In the end it worked though.
I saw them on the internet and since I liked their prices I went ahead and got it. Last time I had to use it was when my mom fell and couldn't get up. It did take a little bit of time before we got a response from but they were very friendly when they responded and things worked out fine.
I picked it because it let me carry the button in my pouch rather than having it around my neck. Their customer service people are nice and help me when I need it.
I got it since I wanted to be able to use it outside of my home. Customer service has been good so far. The only thing I did not like was that they send us something that I didn't ask for, so we returned it. I haven't had anything happen yet where I needed to use it though.
I got it because my husband kept falling and I needed help to get him back up. We actually used the button once when that happened. All I had to do is push the button and they came and helped him get up. They were here quickly and knew what to do. It was good. They're also good about explaining everything we need to know.
I got it on behalf of my father. I looked at consumer reports and things like that and Medical Guardian just came up as one of the best ones out there. We looked at what they had to offer and went from there. He lives on four acres on land, so he uses the mobile bit when he goes around his property doing odd jobs and things of the sort. He hasn't had to use it for anything other than testing it. Last time we tested it, which was a couple of weeks ago, it took a really long time for it to connect and for someone to pick up. Still, customer support has been very attentive and they've been very courteous and professional so far.
I researched them on the internet and the features and reviews they had convinced me of getting it. The service is just very convenient, there are no hassles to it. I've never actually had to use it, but we've accidentally set off the alarm many times. They have always been very prompt and understanding when responding. We've never had any issues with them at all.
They just kind of came along at the right time when I was looking for a service like theirs. I haven't used it for a real emergency yet, but a couple of times I've accidentally pushed the button and they've answered well to everything. The black cord for the button that goes around your neck has a very peculiar arrangement of things. I haven't been able to figure out how you put it on or take it off.

Edith, thank you for reaching out. We're happy that you enjoy your Mobile Guardian overall, but we will have someone from our Customer Care team reach out to discuss how to best use your wearable button. Have a great day!
I got it since it's an easy and convenient service. I only ever wear it when I go to the exercise room while no one is around. The device is small enough for me to handle. I check it every month or so and the response I've gotten has been fast.
I googled several companies and liked them the best, so I signed up with them. Thankfully I've never had to use it, but I wear it when I leave the house to go to the store, work on the yard, or just go anywhere. They've always been there every time I call. I've had really good luck with them. I know that it's there for me if I do need it.
The price was a big factor in my choice to go with them. When I call they follow through with us. I think I've used it twice so far and I've never had any trouble with it.
I got it as a recommendation from a family doctor that I've had for years. The device is very convenient. I passed out on two different occasions and they sent out the EMTs to come and get me. They took care of everything. Customer service is always pleasant and funny.
My wife was the one that decided to get it. I've only used it once and it worked very well.
I liked the pictures that I provided so I decided to go ahead and get it since I live on my own. The button is comfortable to wear, plus you have a station that you can use to speak to a live person in case you need to talk to someone. I've never placed a call or done a test run without getting a very polite and helpful person on the other side of the line. They're always very concerned about me. Honestly, I haven't had to use it, but it's a big comfort to have it with me. I know that if I need help, I'll be able to get it. If I'm away from my house and something were to happen to me, the GPS locator can find me.
A friend of mine had it and was very happy with it, so I got it for my mother too. Luckily she has not had to use it, but she is turning 89 next month and lives alone. The button is easy to wear on the neck and it's there if she needs to press it. She can also wear it in the shower if she needs to. Any time I've had an interaction with them, they've been helpful and polite. It gives me peace of mind knowing that if anything happens I will be alerted about it. It could always be a little less expensive, I'd love to see the price go down.
I spoke to a couple of woman that had it and recommended it to me, that's why I purchased it. I've only had to use it once after I had just returned from an operation on my hand. I came home and was having a lot of pain, so I used it to call for help and go back to the hospital. They responded to my call immediately.
It was a convenient service, so I got it. I have not had to use it, but I have it around my neck when I'm in my house. I also take it with me in my backpack when I leave the house. I've tested it a few times and it usually just takes them about 45 seconds to respond.
They're very reliable and have always answered my questions well.
My children got this for me as a Christmas gift. I haven't had to use it, but when I accidentally hit it someone calls me right away to see if I'm ok. They've also called me to see how I'm doing and everything.
My children decided to get it for me. I've had it for over a year now and I wear it all the time. There hasn't been a real emergency where I needed to use it, but they have given me no trouble at all. It just works great. I know that it's there if I ever need help.
I'm usually out and about in the barn, at the garage, or somewhere else outside of my house. That's why I needed to have something that would take care of me while I was out there. I wear it anytime I'm out of bed, even if I have to get up to go pee in the middle of the night. The only problem that I have is that, when somebody is talking to me on it, I can't hear what they're saying. They're either not talking loud enough or the machine is not loud enough.

Ernest, we're happy to offer to offer you peace of mind in and around your home. Keep in mind that if you push your button and our operator can't hear you on your base, we will move forward assuming that there is a need for assistance. This ensures you will receive help when you need it. Feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns about your system.
I looked them up on the internet to see see if they were good. Since they were more highly rated than a lot of the other more expensive companies, I just went with Medical Guardian. They're always very courteous, nice, and polite. They try their best to help you out as much as possible. I have a problem with the necklace, it just goes off really easily. One time I was leaning on a counter while I was out shopping and the button notified them that I needed help when I didn't. That happens often and sometimes I can stop the alarm but some other times I can't do that. I'd rather have something that I can wear on my wrist so that it won't get in the way. Either that or shorten the neck cord, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. When I change the length, it always ends up going back to the same length it was before.

Elaine, we're happy that your overall experience with Medical Guardian has been positive. We will have a member of our Customer Care team reach out to discuss the concerns you mentioned with your unit to see if we can help resolve those issues for you with regards to false alarms and the neck cord. Thanks for the review!
I checked into a couple of different services and they seemed to be the most accommodating of them all. I haven't really had to use it, but I do wear it when I'm out and about. I usually wear the watch and take the unit out with me when I'm shopping or anything like that. I do think that their response time needs to be a little quicker than what it is. Still, the device works well. Overall I'm satisfied with it.
A friend recommended it to me, so I got it. I wear it every day, though I'm not really comfortable using it. It is also too expensive.
I did a good bit of research comparing quite a few companies and this one seemed like it fit me best. I haven't had to use it but the button seems to be very easy to use.
My daughter in law got it for me. I've never had to use it, I just have it close by all the time. The first charger that they sent me didn't really work, so they had to send me a new one. Still, I've been satisfied with it, it seems to be doing pretty well.
When I looked it up, I liked both the size of the locket and the fact that I could use it outside of my home. That's why I got it. I've never had to use it though.
Last summer I had a fainting episode and my family started nagging me so I would get something of this nature. Since a friend had this system I decided to go with it. The button is easy to use but I really don't use it. I have taken it with me occasionally if I'm going out in the car. Still, they've responded whenever I call with the button to check in with them. Sometimes it surprises me that it takes them a few minutes to respond after I push it. Though when it comes to my interaction with them, things have been satisfactory. At the time I took the annual payment in order to get a discount, but I imagine their price is about the same as other companies.
I called around and since they had a reasonable pricing I got it for my elderly grandfather. It has been very useful since most of our family members are out of state. We had a couple of different options for what to give him. They have a wristband or a necklace and he wears whichever is more comfortable. They're both waterproof as well, so he doesn't have to take it off at all, which is great. The button is easy to use and they're very efficient. We don't have to contact them a million times just to make sure that they're doing their part. It has helped us on numerous occasions when he either fell or didn't feel well. Whenever there's an alert, they've notified me right away and send medical help his way almost immediately. They also call me when they've arrived at his home.
From the reviews and options available, they seemed like the best choice for my parents. They've used it twice and everything has worked well.
I checked the other companies and they just didn't have the amount of attention that we needed for my mother, so we went with Medical Guardian. They never told me that the device only really works with AT&T, so if something happens with that the device is just worthless. I've never used it but when we've used it for testing, I thought that it took too long for them to respond.

Maria, you are correct that all of our current cellular products rely on AT&T coverage. AT&T coverage works for the vast majority of Americans, so we should be able to provide you help when you need it. Regarding response time, you should be seeing our operators respond to your button press in under a minute under typical conditions. If you are seeing times above that amount, please reply directly to this message and we will reach back out to troubleshoot for you. Thanks again for the review. Have a lovely day!
Judging from the different things that I read about them, I decided to get it. Thankfully, the person that wears it has never had to use it, but I do think it's a very accessible service.
I did some research on the web and they just seemed like the best ones out there. We accidentally set it off a few times and they've done a great job. It all seems to just work, it's good.
I had used it previously, so I decided to get it again for my mother. Overall it's good.
I read about other services and I just decided to get them since they had the best offer and were the most reliable ones. I've only really tested it and it works ok. The service and the people are good, I'm very comfortable with everything. I'm glad I have it in case of emergency.
I decided to get something like this since I live alone. I just picked Medical Guardian. On a typical day I put it on in the morning and go about doing whatever I need to do, whether that's golfing, going to the gym, going to a restaurant, or whatever. The button is larger and bulkier than what I'd like it to be. I've never had to use it but I've tested it a couple of times to see if it knows where I am and it really didn't know. When I visited Davis in California it had my location wrong by about a mile and a quarter. I think it's probably related to the fact that AT&T is the one that services them, so coverage is not always great.
I compared them to others and thought Medical Guardian was the best deal, so I went with them. I haven't used it for anything other than testing it to make sure that it works. It all seems to be working well, the button hasn't given me any problems and they are always available.
I did a lot of research and from all of them Medical Guardian was the best fit for me, especially since it works almost like a cellphone. Luckily I haven' had to use it, but I have a rheumatoid arthritis and have taken a couple of falls where I couldn't get back up on my own. There's always a chance that I'll fall again, and since my husband passed it's best for me to have this. The button is small enough to carry it comfortably, though I usually have the one that looks like a mini cellphone with me. I can take that anywhere I want and as long as I'm within a 640 ft range from it they'll be able to hear me if I hit the button. The price is good. It's like $39 a month and even if I don't use it much I'm grateful to have it if something happens.
My son and I did some research and picked them. I wear it around my neck, though I haven't had to use it. Still, whenever we've tested the machine everything has worked well and customer service has been really good too.
I research online and compared different companies. They seemed like they would serve my needs best. I haven't really used it and I don't wear it much, but I think they're fine.
I live alone so I thought I'd get it in case I fall or need to get help in a hurry. I keep it around all the time, 24 hours of the day. I trust that I can get help if I call for it.
My daughter bought it for me. They've responded immediately every time I used it. One day I was doing work in the backyard and fell backwards. I pushed the alarm and as soon as I did that the alarm went off in the house and my daughter was able to come out and help me.
I found them through research and thought they'd be great to get. My aunt is blind and she has been living on her own so the system is a great tool that gives us all a sense of security. They've always come through for us, even when there's false alarms. The button is easy to use and we think they're great. The only thing is that the price is a little steep for us since we're on a fixed income. Still, the service is worth it.
