Its medical alert packages have top-rated accessories, including its lockboxes and fall detection pendants that are compatible with the in-home systems and medical alert devices with GPS functionality. The company also has CSAA certified monitoring centers that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work to keep your loved ones safe.
Currently, Medical Guardian is considered one of the best medical alert companies in the medical alert device industry. Medical Guardian has low monthly monitoring rates, and the company does not charge any activation or equipment fees**. Read Medical Guardian reviews below to see what consumers have to say about the medical alert company.
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
Medical Guardian members get alert equipment free of charge** with no setup fees or long-term contracts. The systems are backed by a lifetime warranty and include access to their 24/7 monitoring centers in the event of an emergency.
Depending on the package, Medical Guardian charges around $20–$40 for round-the-clock medical alert monitoring.
Medical Guardian offers lower monitoring fees with more extensive features and higher quality equipment compared to its competitors, making the company one of the most quality and affordable medical alert options in the industry. For many other medical alert providers, you'll pay a high upfront fee for equipment as well as a hefty monthly monitoring fee.
Medical Guardian has multiple medical alert packages to choose from. This gives customers the versatility to pick the medical alert plan that works best for them and their situation. Whether you just want coverage while you're at home, or if you want 24/7 coverage for on-the-go, Medical Guardian has you covered.
We break down each offered package below, or you can find a product overview with pictures here.

This plan starts at $1.29 per day.
The Mini Guardian is the smallest and sleekest medical alert device Medical Guardian offers. It comes in three colors, including black, silver, and white. Its capabilities are similar to Medical Guardian's other offered medical alert systems and is water-resistant, includes GPS tracking, and has a five-day battery life. This plan does require a one-time equipment fee, unlike the other basic medical alert packages.
Being 1/2 the width and weight of a regular medical alert system, this device is best for consumers who care about the convenience of size and would prefer a smaller device compared to a regular-sized system and don't mind a one-time equipment fee. The mini can clip onto bags, purses, belts, clothing, etc. for ease of use. You can also add fall detection to the mini if you'd like extra protection. The range on this device is unlimited.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $249.95. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their homes. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's monitoring centers provide bilingual support for those who cannot speak English.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station.
Medical Guardian's long range from the base station gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a long battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficulty.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you with whatever you need, whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Also important to note, when analyzing Medical Guardian's reviews, one of the most often referenced positives about the company was its responsiveness and exceptional customer service.
Customer Review: Anthony

The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

I just got a brochure on the mail and decided to try it, fortunately I haven't had to use it, I wear it on my belt and hopefully I will not have to use it. When I called with problem I've gotten a very rapid and good response and it solved my problems. Well I assume it seems to do what is suppose to do when I tested it works so I've no reason to complain.
My daughter helped me decide by going on the internet and checking as to which one of the companies had the best record. Actually I've been very fortunate I haven't had to use it yet but my children live far away from me and I live by myself so we felt that I needed it because I did have a TIA which is kind a but I haven't had any, it makes me feel safer and it gives my kids some peace of mind. It seemed easy to use it, it seemed very easy for me to be able to manage that by myself. I've been very lucky so far but it does give me a great deal of peace of mind. I'm happy with it, it seems to be doing what it's supposed to be doing, I think it's been good I've had a very positive experience with it so far.
The device is easy to use, light, and comfortable.
Ah we just had another one before and this one seemed to work okay.. I don't think we had to use it, we always done it just to test it, we haven't had any complications. Now we haven't had any problems to really contact them.
Well I was watching TV one day, the way the TV commercial presented the medical guardian and alert system, I mean it was very obvious from the fact that I'm in the senior stage and therefore it does not hurt to have some safety devices around to be of service if you really need it, but just a matter in which they get their presentation on the television that's how I learned about that specific product, but I need it I, needed something and that it didn't have to be as I didn't have to go behind the bed and find an outlet things along those lines, so it worked out fine because the other one I could not plug in properly. Well so far I have not had to use it, it came on accidentally and they came on back immediately even though I did not need the service and it was just an accident, the response was immediate, is very good and I like it because it is very clear and concise and the people responded by asking if I was okay and so I am very content with the manner in which it works and I hope I never have to use it but it does not hurt to be prepared.
Well actually I didn't make the decision I have 6 children and 4 daughters and they are...when I have had two falls in the house they decided that it was time I needed something and they're the ones that researched online and thought yours was the best one for me. Well I had to use it just about two weeks ago when I fell during night and then you know they're always very good, very prompt and I feel comfortable having them and they followed the directions I gave them which is to call my daughters and they live very close to me so they come and see what they think and you know. Well I'm very happy with your company. 5 but you know it means just because it goes instantly there communicating with me when I pushed the button and doing what I asked them to do.
Well because it has a bracelet and it has a necklace and it let me know. I need it a lot at night cause I'm by myself. Well to me their a little expensive but their worth it
I talked with a person that sold on and they had several other family members that were all with medical guardian and I took their suggestion. I have never had to use it. I have a necklace around my neck and they told me that if I wear it they will follow me all over the United States if I would take that battery with me. Whenever I call and tell them I'm just testing it they are prompt to answer. Well I never had anything else so it's been satisfactory for me.
I researched of several companies and I liked what medical guardian had to offer for the price. It's actually my mother that has that I bought it for her and that thankfully she hasn't had any reason to use it yet but she had had a heart attack and she's elderly and she lives alone, we want to make sure that she had something on her at all times where she could get help if she needed it. Every time I called about any kind of little problem or my mother had any questions and we called up the guardians are very helpful, we've done our test and they have picked up immediately and have been there to offer my mother support. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my mother has something she can depend on.
I didn't even try any other company but I've been pretty happy with them so far. I feel safe wearing it, especially when I take showers or do anything in the bathroom. When I drive, I take the base with me. I've only had one accidental call, that was really the only time I've ever used it. I accidentally pushed it against something and it went off. I was home and heard a voice come on through the base. It asked me if I was alright several times and I just replied that I was and that I didn't have any problems, that was it. The guy that responded made me feel very secure and as if I was really covered and secure. Having it has been a wonderful experience for me. I feel like if I need them, they can take care of me.
Oh just seemed right. I just take it with me when I go out. I have recommended it.
I read it on the magazine. I've never had to use it. I don't really have anything to compare it with but I've never had any trouble, I check it once a month and that's the end of it.
I decided because I did Internet research. Actually my mother uses it, the last time she had to use it when she fell and broke her head. Whether you use the button to call them, or you call them on the phone with the questions, they answer right away. It's very easy to use.
Patricia A Hess
The company I had before did not go any place outside of my apartment, so I switched. I like that I check in once a month with them. I had to call them once when I fell in my apartment. They answered quickly and someone was over here right away.
Because It was a 24 hours thing you know and I always can I take it out with me when I go out so I feel pretty safe you know. Well I never had to use it but It takes a while when you hit the button, It takes 3 to 4 before you pressed the line or stuff. I don't think I like the button. The device was good. It worth the money you know so.
I may be disabled but I still drive and I'm out and about. That's why I picked them, the button can be used while I'm away from home. I have COPD, emphysema, congested heart failure, and all kinds of problems, so I always have my GPS on my belt and the button hanging from my neck. The only time I take it off is when I take a bath. If anything happens, I can just push it and I'll get help. I haven't had to use it, but I did bump it while opening some grips the other day. They were right on it asking me if I was alright. They do the same when I test it. It has never failed its function. I pay $45 a month for it, but that includes insurance in case I drop it or break it. It'd be great to see it for $10 a month or less, but it's alright. It's rather satisfying to know that if something happens to me I'll be fine.
Well I research to be with other companies and found that this one was the one that sort of covered my need. I haven't had to use it other than just to test it and that's good but I always wear it and I feel very comfortable and aware of it. Every time I call it, I get a good result from a premier customer service. It's comfortable around my neck I first tried the bracelet and the plastic irritated my arm now I wear the necklace one and I feel very comfortable around my neck and I can hide it is very discreet. Well I like the fact that it is small and compact. Solves the problem about control unit when I take it in my purse and other times I had one that had to be connected to the phone and this one gives me the GPS where I go, I am not driving much anymore, still carry it with any occasion, when I go on trips.
Wilson L. Shepherd
Because of the ratings on the internet. I had to use it when I was falling down or slid out on my chair just works every time. Well they always answer, it might take a minute but it failed me once.
Ronda & Samuel Teare
I was recommended. We've never had to use it I'd probably but they are always checking to make sure everything's okay, we're just really happy with it, that's all.
My wife wears it when she goes walking or when she's alone in the house. They have always answered when she presses the button, no matter if it's on purpose or by accident. They also seem to be very courteous.
I was in a nursing home some 2 years ago and they said I needed to have Medical Guardian or some kind of medical alert system. My youngest daughter went through them and picked them out because she thought they were the best. We paid the first year's premium and we've been renewing it every year since. It's easy to make payments. I live on Social security so now I pay as I go and it's very reasonable. I'm happy with it. I have both the necklace and the wristwatch, but I wear the necklace the most. I can leave it around my neck all the time, day and night. I've used it several times and they take me to the hospital if I ask them to. When I fell on the bathroom I was able to hear them very well. A year ago, in February, I fell while I was working in the house with a little girl. I moved a table and when I turned around I think I blacked out and fell on the floor. I broke my hip so when the little girl tried to help me up I told her not to. I pushed the button and she went and got someone else to help me. The girl came back with help at the same time that the police arrived to help me. They have always been good to me.
I wanted something that could contact EMTs or something quickly in case I needed them and they were the first service that I came across. I have 2 devices that I can wear and they're both easy to use. I called in to test it and they seem to be knowledgeable and pleasant. They stay on the line as long as necessary.
Well, I decided because of price and reputation they had. Fortunately, a typical day is uneventful, I don't think we've ever used it. I asked them some questions on how to install it and the people were very helpful and took us through everything. It's not too bad and is reasonably convenient.
Thelma J Berry
I've had it for over a year but I don't even use it to be honest. They really don't bother me either. It's just sort of there if I need it.
Because I saw the ad and it looked good. I've never had to use it but I wear it everyday. Its just very good because they keep checking on you.
So far its ok. Seems like they are slow to respond on the test calls & a static connection at first.

I appreciate the service offered and the security it it gives me when I am away from home.
Ease of ordering, but wasn't informed that a metal roofed home may not allow good signal for device to work
They were helpful in helping me pick out the unit I needed. They helped me set it up and it works as I expected.
Joan M Wood
I saw an advertisement for them so I decided to get it. Usually I put it on in the morning and take it off at night. I'm going to send it back though. The device only works within 300 ft. of the base unit and that's a very restrictive thing. I know there are other ones that have GPS on them and I want one of those. Now that I know it has a GPS, I am happy with my Medical Guardian as I have two homes and go between them all summer.

Joan, thank you for reaching out. Your Mobile Guardian is actually usable both in your home and while on the go. The mobile base station included with your unit contains a GPS and can be taken with you while on the go so you are covered in all 50 states. A member of our Customer Care team will be reaching out to clarify the capabilities of your machine to make sure you are getting the most out of your Mobile Guardian. Have a great day!
If ZERO stars were an option, I would give them that. To date, they have charged us $1,400 for a system that wouldn't work, and have refunded less than $300 of that. Half of those charges are for a "lost" unit that they never once told us needed to be returned. We have spent MONTHS attempting to be patient with them, and get some kind of system set up. But, because of their incredibly poor customer service, we are going with someone else. DO NOT waste your time or money with this company, unless you plan on haggling for weeks on end over mistakes they have made.

Bryan, we thank you for reaching out and apologize for the frustrating experience you and your family had with our devices. Per our recent conversation on the matter, we will refund you the full amount paid for your mother's account once the devices in question are returned. You should have received the return label via email yesterday morning. Please feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a lovely day!
They called me and so I got the medical alert thing. Last week was the last time I used it, I've used it several times, I am eighty four years old and I do have health problems but when I need help I just get my little thing and mash it and I'd get help right away. All I can say is that they do take good care of you.
It was just handy, I haven't used. It takes a long time for them to respond.
My sister picked it out, she got it for me when I was in the hospital because I live alone. I never had to push it, I accidentally did it when I was trying to open the box and they answered me right away, I told him it was an accident and that I was fine and they asked my name and was I sure I was okay and I said yes, they do check on you, they are very polite. I wear it 24/7 except when I go in the shower I'm very comfortable with it.

Sharon, thank you for the review. Just so you are aware, the emergency neck or wrist button that came with your unit is highly water resistant and perfectly fine for shower use. This is in fact where a lot of falls can occur, so feel free to use your pendant in the shower. Have a great weekend!
I don't know what' is typical day. They do the job I guess, they always help me whenever I call them.
Price and also review of other competitors on the internet, it appeared that and I it's been a while since we've made that decision, we felt that you would be a good choice for us. I didn't use it, my mom was using it. I know when we did have to get in touch with you to test the system or when she moved in with us everybody was very responsive and at one point we need to replace a wrist band and they were very prompt with taking care of that as well. It works and the response time is you know generally within forty five seconds to a minute, It works well for us.
Only quarrel I have is, and I suppose I just have to call and find out but we live in the city with a big house at a pretty good sized backyard and I don't know if my button works in the backyard or if I have to bring something from in the house, I don't know how much area it covers. As far as I know I see another company advertised that covers you all over the United States, I don't know cause they don't give you all the information you should know on TV and advertising, I'm satisfied with it, my husband and I are both retired and we're both around the house in the property most of the time, but when he is gone out of the property anywhere , I wear the call buttons.

Yes its nice, my daughter chose it. We are two 96 years old and one of us goes out shopping for the other one. Well it works, it was answered quickly we feel comfortable with it.
Well we only used it one time. After lunch I guess it was, they answer it right away, it works good, they were really good, they've been right here when it happen.
I haven't had to use it. I'm by myself and my knees needed to be replaced and I'm about to do the surgery so I have a couple of falls and my son that lives next door is not always there, then I decided that I needed to use it Well so far I haven't had any problems and I haven't had any much contact with them just a one time I pushed it for testing, Its good I mean it is, I haven't worn the wrist one but I probably should when I go shopping but so far its been fine. I have stairs in my house I live in a modular home and I have been careful and I don't have to worry if I fall I know they will find me.
My daughter got it for me and I like it because when I go somewhere I can take it with me. I used it when I got back home and called it and they called the ambulance. So I like it because I live alone and the medical guy helped me. I feel more secure. they answer almost right away when I call. When I get sick I go stay with my daughter and I take my medical guardian because she lives out of town and I take it with me and I just let them know the address that I'm staying at. Well I think that they charged me every three months it's it's kind of expensive but I still like it.
My mother in law is the one that uses it. We did a lot of comparisons on the internet and just thought Medical Guardian had the best deal. Everything has gone smoothly from the beginning, we haven't had any issues. They were very thorough and helpful when we needed them. It's a very efficient device.
Because that's the only one I knew about. You know you're asking me all these silly questions okay we bought the device in because I needed something that would call me in case my mother hit the floor, I'm appreciating and she has never tried to call me yet so let's keep it at that please.
The girl that takes care of me decided to get this. It's just what I need. I have used it whenever I fall down or when I don't have any other way to contact someone. I actually used it to let my children know that my phones were out, it was a very big help that time. They're always there for me and are very prompt.
Because I'm a really busy person and I thought that I needed something and when I talked to the person they sounded like maybe this would be the right thing for me. I haven't had to use it, thank goodness, they keep calling and checking on me. I think that if they are trying to find out if you're still in the system that is wonderful. I think they are very good.
I'm 81 years old and have severe spinal stenosis, so it's important for me to have this because I live alone in my studio. Before getting it, I fell and couldn't get up. I was lucky that time in that my niece and her husband were home, so they were able to help me. After that I just knew I should have something like it. I was going to get a different company, but they called me first and I went with it. I don't really wear the necklace, but I have it nearby when I'm home. When I'm sitting down I put it on the end of the couch or just sit next to it.
I just got the information somewhere. Well thank god we have not had to use it, someone accidentally pushed it and they always respond.
