Nobody there! During testing alone it took 21 minutes to get a response when I activated the "HELP" button! NOT a good feeling!

the device doesn't detect falls. i initially tested the fall detection system by tossing the device on to a rug. i was told the device was too sophisticated and it needed to be around the neck. so i tested it on myself and fell (hard) onto the floor 3 times with no result. this is why i got the unit to begin with and if it can't detect falls it's useless to me.

Regarding fall detection for your mother's Active Guardian, you are correct that we do not recommend testing the unit as it is designed to not work simply by being dropped, or by dropping on the floor to simulate a fall. This is because of the reasons you mentioned in your review, the unit is designed to minimize false alarms associated with these kinds of movements. The equipment would not function during the activation process. After 3 1/2 hours on the phone with technical support and or on hold, I gave up. None of their associates were empowered to resolve the issue, I canceled my order.

Our son did the whole thing. Talking one day he just said that we needed some extra help and he signed us up for it. Don't get me wrong though, we're happy with it. We really haven't talked with customer service much. They were a great help when we were setting things up. Either of us wears it while we're in the house or whatever. It's a handy thing to have, you can have it close by all the time. I couldn't be happier with it.

I got it because it had the GPS feature. I've never had to use it and I've gotten too many calls from them to be honest.
