Medical Guardian has been an authority in fall detection since they opened their doors in 2005. The in-home medical alert company offers medical alert systems for those who may need emergency services on the go as well as at home. Its medical alert packages have top-rated accessories, including its lockboxes and fall detection pendants that are compatible with the in-home systems and medical alert devices with GPS functionality. The company also has CSAA certified monitoring centers that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work to keep your loved ones safe.
Currently, Medical Guardian is considered one of the best medical alert companies in the medical alert device industry. Medical Guardian has low monthly monitoring rates, and the company does not charge any activation or equipment fees**. Read Medical Guardian reviews below to see what consumers have to say about the medical alert company.
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
Medical Guardian members get alert equipment free of charge** with no setup fees or long-term contracts. The systems are backed by a lifetime warranty and include access to their 24/7 monitoring centers in the event of an emergency.
Depending on the package, Medical Guardian charges around $20–$40 for round-the-clock medical alert monitoring.
Medical Guardian offers lower monitoring fees with more extensive features and higher quality equipment compared to its competitors, making the company one of the most quality and affordable medical alert options in the industry. For many other medical alert providers, you'll pay a high upfront fee for equipment as well as a hefty monthly monitoring fee.
Medical Guardian has multiple medical alert packages to choose from. This gives customers the versatility to pick the medical alert plan that works best for them and their situation. Whether you just want coverage while you're at home, or if you want 24/7 coverage for on-the-go, Medical Guardian has you covered.
We break down each offered package below, or you can find a product overview with pictures here.

This plan starts at $1.29 per day.
The Mini Guardian is the smallest and sleekest medical alert device Medical Guardian offers. It comes in three colors, including black, silver, and white. Its capabilities are similar to Medical Guardian's other offered medical alert systems and is water-resistant, includes GPS tracking, and has a five-day battery life. This plan does require a one-time equipment fee, unlike the other basic medical alert packages.
Being 1/2 the width and weight of a regular medical alert system, this device is best for consumers who care about the convenience of size and would prefer a smaller device compared to a regular-sized system and don't mind a one-time equipment fee. The mini can clip onto bags, purses, belts, clothing, etc. for ease of use. You can also add fall detection to the mini if you'd like extra protection. The range on this device is unlimited.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $249.95. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their homes. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's monitoring centers provide bilingual support for those who cannot speak English.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station.
Medical Guardian's long range from the base station gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a long battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficulty.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you with whatever you need, whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Also important to note, when analyzing Medical Guardian's reviews, one of the most often referenced positives about the company was its responsiveness and exceptional customer service.

**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

When we've called to test it they've always responded, they're available an answer any questions. Well it allows my husband to be able to go out in his backyard workshop and still I have comfort in knowing if he needs help, I am retired nurse that I can be called first, I did let them know to make a note at before they dispatch, to call me first because we're always together and I can confirm if need.
An advertisement. No actually my mother has it and I don't think she's ever used it. All right it makes her feel secure that is what she said and it makes me feel secure as her daughter that she has, they're always available and they get right back to you and then if there is a problem they always fix it. Device could be a little smaller. No just as I said I'm happy that my mother has it.
I guess I saw it advertised and they are all pretty comparable. Well actually it's for my mother and she's ninety four years old and live next door, she slid out of bed so she had to use it, I think just two slides out of bed but we fixed it up so she won't slide out anymore. They are courteous, followed right away, they were very courteous. My mother has a necklace, just easy for her she doesn't like anything around her wrist it just right there to press if she needs, I guess its appropriate.
I don't really have an emergency I checked it out a month ago and thought will be cool and just to make sure it's working that's about it, when I called in they get back to me which is fine.
I just saw it advertised and we got it. We never had to use it yet, we just got it just in case, when we tested they call you right away.
Okay this is her daughter, I got it for my mom, she's 91 and I'm not always home and she is a fine mind but not her body so I'm afraid of her falling so the only thing is if she gets to put it on. We have never had to use it. Every time we have called weather to connect or disconnect, everybody's been very helpful they walk me through the program and everything, is always been great I have to say that one time my mom did hit the button by mistake cause something fell in the machine and the police were here in minutes and so we know what works very well. The representatives have been always very helpful, we called and the police came immediately.
I just read reviews and it seemed to get good reviews. Well actually it's for my mother and she has it and she doesn't use it very often she's afraid she'll wake somebody up and bother them, they called her and they've been very good to answer when she has had questions, its seems to be working just fine and don't have any complains about it. Not that I can think of.
I don't have any experience. it doesn't get a good signal where my father's lives.

Hello, we are sorry to hear about your signal issue with your Premium Guardian unit. We would like to troubleshoot this issue with you. We will have one of our Customer Care Specialists reach out to you shortly. Thanks for your feedback.
Well I know that I needed it because of my health, so far I have not had to use it but I have accidentally pressed the button and everything just went fine, they called to check on me to see if everything was okay to which I let them know I was okay and I had accidentally pushed a button. they really care about you and they were very nice, is just perfect for me.
It was an advertisement that we followed up on. We have to use it once so far, if there was an emergency and they understood they dealt with the situation very calmly and helped us out, its very convenient.
Because I was living alone, my husband died and I wanted to make sure that if I fall and couldn't get out then I'll have someone to come immediately. Fortunately I haven't need it.
Basically because of the detail that you were able to have it in the home, I have a brother with cancer and a mother with dementia and they're in a gated area so they have several numbers they have to do before they can ever get in the house because no one will be able to let him in the house and they were able to accommodate all my needs from that standpoint. My brother who has cancer got the flu and was extremely weak and he also had a tracking problem, he cannot speak and he just hit the button and they just seem to know that if nobody responds they will immediately send out 911 and that's what they did. They have not let me down and its very easy to use.
I have been fortunate in that, since I got it, I haven't had to use it. I've had some false alarms while washing dishes but they always come on and ask me if I'm alright. I feel very confident in that they're there for me.
I'm happy with my medical alert that I have because I'm home alone and really don't have neighbors so my kids want me to be safe so that's why I got it. I haven't had to use it yet, I had it for a year or so. I did use it once by mistake. I know they will come and help me when I push the button and I'm very happy with that.
I decided because of the service and the equipment. Yes my first time I used I was in Disney land and somehow I had press button on my chest and they were looking for me in the restaurant that I was in, so the GPS works fantastic I've had a bad couple occasions where it accidentally got dumped and and they've come after me and it's been very good service, feel very protected. It works I'd rather have not to worry about taking it and to remember to keep it charged but its pretty handy.
My son in Portland Oregon purchased this for me. So far I haven't had to use it but when I called they were there and answered what I needed to know, it's been good for me I didn't have to use it many times but so far this is helpful for me to have.
I had a friend who has it and recommended it. I usually used it everyday in and out of the house.
The fact that I could use it outside the house, whenever I went. I have never used it as an emergency thing I had the opportunity to do it but there was somebody there with a cell phone. Well I never had an opportunity yet to use it for an emergency so I can't answer that question.
Well I saw an ad on TV a couple of times. I am 102 years and sick so I use the device all the time. It makes me feel safe in case I have a fall I am now dependent on it and I feel safe with the device. Its a good thing. It's suppose to be a dollar a day.
Picked out of my house, no recommendation or something. I've been lucky I've never had to use it. It is too difficult to speak when you have a problem.
I think the fact that they have a GPS. I have to use it several times.
I don't know I researched this two or three years ago and I looked at all the different alternatives and medical guardians to get rating reviews, it's for my mother, my mother hasn't had to use the device yet but she's tested to make sure she knows how it works a couple of times and on those tests the response from medical guardian has been very good and was very fast. Sales staff is pretty knowledgeable about the product as well.
My care taker that is my daughter encouraged me for my safety. I have a friend who falls all the time, we are both 88 years old, I have used, I believe in the morning about 9:30 am at the gym every day except the day where I go to yoga class and I get home around 1:00pm and from then I have my device on, it's very good for my daughter to know that nothing happened to me and I'm careful but I realize that it could happen so that's why my daughter got it for me, every time I checked in with someone immediately help, I've only called once.
Probably some kind of advertisement but I really don't know I think she checked out at and some other things and she just decided this was best for us but I'm not really sure why. We only had to use it one time and that was when my husband fell and we are very satisfied with it. Just that we are satisfied with it.
My daughter did. I've never used it. I test it once a month, twice it took four minutes, another time I was close to five minutes before they responded. I've never used it.

Hello Florence, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our Mobile Guardian unit. Under normal circumstances the response time after an alert takes 60 seconds or less. We will have one of our Customer Care Specialists reach out to you shortly to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks for your feedback.
Well I seen it on TV and I thought it would be good for me. I have to use it 3 times. Good service, works fine.
Its for my mother in law its the best thing for the best price. We have never had to use it since we've had it but she wears around her neck when she's up and goes to bed. When the electricity or something goes out it is nice to know there is always someone watching what's going on. It is very simple to use.
My son decided it that was the best. I've never had to use it however they were a couple of times that I accidentally pushed the button for the last time it took about three minutes before anything and he talked to me.

Hello Gaylord, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our Premium Guardian unit. Under normal circumstances the response time after an alert takes 60 seconds or less. We will have one of our Customer Care Specialists reach out to you shortly to troubleshoot this issue. We value your feedback.
Its for my safety, I needed something that would be right here for me when I needed it but I really don't use it on when I'm going outside to grocery or shopping. On two occasions I accidentally pressed the button they called me back and were quite nice about it, they are ready and waiting.
I got it because I was having health issues and lived on my own. I've used it twice already to call paramedics when I had COPD. On both occasions I just called them and told them I needed to go to the ER. They were right there for me. Once I accidentally put the button through the washing machine. When I got it out I pushed it to see if it still worked and it did. I was very happy about that. The only problem that I've had is that I can't really use it if I'm outside my home. It's only good within a certain distance from the base unit. So, if I was out and about and needed help, I wouldn't be able to call them. I've seen other companies that have that feature available, so it would be helpful to have that. Other than that I have no complaints about it all.

Because of the price. I fell and I couldn't get a hold on any of my family members so I pressed the medical guardian button and I was able to reach someone that would be able to help me get off the floor, they were prompt in their actions and Its easy to carry. There is nothing negative about Medical guardian, nothing makes me unhappy.
Yes we have it and we didn't need to use it but when we have hit the machine by accident they responded and wanted to find out if everything was okay and so it has been working for us and that is it regards. My husband has mobility problems and had some falls and when I go out it is useful to have a device like this to get help if he couldn't reach me. I didn't have to use it, I hit by accident and they answered quite quickly and it was good. I would tell them that it is working for us so far but always a case of not having an emergency it's not a total experience.
My experience has been really good. Once, when I was waiting at an airport, I heard a sound coming out from my pocket book. It turned out it was the medical guardian thing saying 'we're sending a car right out, car is on its way.' I managed to answer and told the lady that something must have pressed the button by mistake and that I didn't need an ambulance. It was nice to know that they would send somebody out if I needed help though. When I got back from Florida I actually realized that I had $23.23 left in my savings account. I really had to buckle up and be more careful on my spending so I decided to call them to cancel the service. The person that I talked to was really nice. She offered to lower the price and even gave me 2 months for free. She told me I could pay by check instead of having the payments taken out from my credit card, that way I could have more control over things. It was really nice and it was very helpful financially.
Well the only time that I've been associated with is when my mother had fallen and I wasn't there but my sisters were there and they could not get her up and I said just push the button. Their response was very prompt and they notified everybody on the list that needed to be notified and the services we spotted so quickly. it just works and its simple. I haven't had any experiences of issues popped up.
Two advertisements on the computer, I looked up your references and your customers feedback.
At the time, I lived alone and was having some health problems, so I just decided to get something and chose them. They have checked in with me from time to time without me having to call them or have an emergency. I know that they're there if I need them and I feel safer that way.
A friend of mine had it, so I decided to give it a try. I wear the necklace every day. I've had to use it some 3 or 4 times and they're always there on the spot. The only thing is that the cord of the necklace is wearing out so I think I have to get a new one...

My son and daughter in law were visiting me after my husband passed away and I knew I'd be living alone so, it was their suggestion that I have something similar so I looked up on the internet and found the different brands and I think it was about a whole year that I got the first one and I think it was really good that I lost my dependent so I had to buy a new one, I did have a fall at my house and when I rang the bell they were here in less than five minutes. I've only used it once but it worked very well when I did use it.
Basically the media, I searched around online and it seemed like the best product. Actually its not for me, its for my father but he hasn't had to use the service. Its easy to use, one button access. I mean its, the price is kind of high but then again for the peace of mind it really makes sense so you have to pay that much for protecting your your elderly father.
Pat & Stella
I did a comparison and your equipment and the price was right. Say that again. We have not had to use it you know I got it for my mother in law who lives with us so when we leave she needs security.
Cost and the service. No I haven't really used it at all. No concerns.
I decided because it has the GPS system. I haven't had to use it but I used it when I have neuropathy so bad I tend to fall. Well I haven't had to use customer support so I couldn't answer that. You know it it's a GPS system and that's important to me that no matter where I am in the range and its effective and they respond very quickly.
My daughter decided. I haven't had to use it yet, it went off one time I shut it off one time by mistake and they got out here pretty quick so it works good, I haven't had any problems with it and it works good.
I really don't know and there's no specific item as I thought it would be, a good reliable company. I think I'd read something favorably by the customers and so we decided to go with it. We have not had to use it at all and we tested occasionally and it seems like it should work out pretty well, when I was gone one time my wife did use it but she didn't need any assistance, she'd fallen but have not been able to get back up and did not injure, they've been very helpful when we have had questions about it and they seem to be very polite and know what they're doing. it's been no problem with it and it has been satisfactory. I don't have any negative comments.
I like that I could use it anywhere and take it with me. I had used it once when I fell in the bathroom, they do answer quickly, they call my relatives and also call for help for me if I need it.
Price and availability. Number of times emergency calls my parents are older so I had emergency calls went in and somebody could respond to their needs. They've always been really responsive. It would be nice if they have a speaker that they could be there for the device if they're away from the phone.
My son search several and got yours as the best. I used any time I am going out to the yard and inside the house when I am not feeling well. Any time I ever contacted for any reason they are on the line immediately. I never had any trouble and have had it for three years.
Mary Lou Adkins
It was recommended as one of the highest and best service of all. Yes when my mother was passing out and I let them know she was passing out and response was very quickly to get her to the hospital. I have been 2 days without the lanyard and they supposed to call Sunday, I said I was going out on Tuesday and that I needed the lanyard to be here and set because I wouldn't would be able to receive it then and they were unaware of this, so I'm not too happy that.

It was my daughter's decision to get it. I check it once a month and they always answer. I only wish it wasn't so bulky.
Mary And George Udell
We chose it for my parents, probably the best price. We haven't used it very often.
