Spectrum has been operating since 1993 and is a household name in the United States. The company, which recently merged with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks, serves more than six million people, making it the fourth largest cable company and one of the largest internet providers in the country.

Spectrum provides internet speeds up to 60 Mbps with no data caps. Its internet service requires a one-year contract.

View Spectrum Reviews

Spectrum offers services in a huge span of the country, especially compared to other internet service providers.

Spectrum has been able to grow rapidly in just a few decades, attributing this success in part to its customer service commitment. That commitment involves a fast broadband network and all the tools necessary to meet internet connection needs.

The Spectrum team is willing to help their customers in any way they can to have a positive experience with their company. They offer cable and fiber-optic internet plans.

The Good

  • No Data Caps
  • Short Wait Window
  • Spectrum Enterprise
  • Bundling Options
  • No Hidden Fees

No Data Caps

Spectrum internet doesn't limit its customers with data caps. A lot of competitors have data limits, and when customers go over these limits they pay fees or their services are disrupted. It's a convenience worth looking into, and this feature alone may be what steers you to Spectrum.

Short Wait Window

The Spectrum internet team knows losing internet service can mean losing time and money. At some point, you'll probably need a technician to come to your home or business to work on network equipment.

Many companies who send out technicians leave the time window wide open and make the customer wait for hours for the technician. Thankfully, Spectrum is different. They set a two hour window that the technician will be there. If the technician does not make the allotted time, Spectrum will pay the customer $20.

They also have a 30-day money-back guarantee their customers can take advantage of if they are not satisfied with their service or the products they receive.

Spectrum Enterprise

Spectrum offers fiber-optic business internet for companies who want a fast connection for phone, internet, and TV service. Spectrum Enterprise also delivers cloud services for their business customers.

Bundling Options

While Spectrum may not have a variety of standalone internet packages, they do have several options that can help you bundle internet, phone service, and cable channels:

  • Spectrum Double Play — $89.98 per month, 125+ channels and 100 Mbps
    • Silver — $109.98 per month, 175+ channels and 100 Mbps
    • Gold — $129.98 per month, 200+ channels and 100 Mbps
  • Spectrum Internet & Phone — $64.98 per month, unlimited calling and 100 Mbps
  • Spectrum Triple Play Select — $99.97 per month, 125+ channels, unlimited calling, and 100 Mbps
    • Triple Play Silver — $119.97 per month, 175+ channels, unlimited calling, and 100 Mbps
    • Triple Play Gold — $139.97 per month, 200+ channels, unlimited calling, and 100 Mbps

No Hidden Fees

While Spectrum does charge a fee to lease a router and another fee for installation, the company is more transparent than some service providers in the industry. Be sure to read contract terms thoroughly and take time to understand billing, your monthly rate, and whether you'll pay more after a certain duration of service.

The Bad

  • Limited Internet-Only Packages Available
  • Highest Download Speed is 60 Mbps

Limited Internet-Only Packages Available

Most internet service providers try to meet various audience needs by offering many different plans and bundles. These packages usually have a large selection of internet speeds (download and upload speeds), features, and prices to choose from. With all of these options, you're more likely to find the best fit for your specific internet and pricing needs. This is not the case with Spectrum internet, as they only offer their customers one package:

  • Spectrum Internet: 60 Mbps for $44.99 per month

If you're only looking for internet and this package doesn't impress you, you'll need to choose another ISP.

However, you may be interested in Spectrum's internet and cable TV bundling options.

Highest Download Speed is 60 Mbps

Spectrum offers an internet speed of 60 Mbps. Some competitors offer high-speed internet up to 1 Gbps for slightly higher prices. Potential customers will have to decide what speed they need and if Spectrum internet service is capable of delivering these needs.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Overall, Spectrum Internet is a good choice for those customers who are looking for relatively quick speeds in their internet network. The package it offers would work best for those customers who know exactly what they are looking for and do not need a lot of variety.

Spectrum Internet is fast, reliable, and perfect for streaming, gaming, and working from home. Speeds stay consistent even with multiple devices connected. Setup was quick, and customer support was helpful. Overall, a solid choice for anyone who wants dependable high-speed internet.

Absolute worst internet we have been forced to use for 5 years. Constant 10-40mbps when we pay for 1 gb usage. More than 1 tv or divise running and its like were in the 90s. No matter how many complaints. They still raise prices and don't fix anything. GO TO STARLINK. AVOID SPECTRUM.

My family moved at the end of June. I called spectrum to transfer services. We discussed a stop date for our old address and a start date for our new address as well as an installation time and date ever since we moved into our new neighborhood. There have been several outages every 6-8 weeks or so which has been annoying. Our Internet stopped working in November and we called customer service to fix it After talking to two different representative, they claimed that everything was fine and connected went nothing was connected on our end, including connecting a laptop through an ethernet cord. Come to find out they were still charging us for our old address and our new address, even though the account was closed for our old address. Now we need to open a dispute that we did in fact, close the old account even though they closed that line, but they’re still pulling out additional funds. Customer service is horrific. I work from home and they are unable to escalate my ticket. Will be cancelling. Don’t care if I have to pay more money.

Where to even begin. Ive been a spectrum customer for about 7 years, and I had never, NEVER had any issues till the past year. I upgraded my mobile service to be able to upgrade my phone whenever I want as they advertise. But when I went to upgrade my phone, it turned out that the person who created my account entered my SSN wrong. So I spent a year trying to fix the issue with them. Then! After I was able to get ahold of someone who could help me with the upgrade, I was finally able to upgrade my phone. HOWEVER! I was told I had a 14 day period that if I didnt like the phone I could trade it in. So, before the 14 days I called to upgrade, SAME ISSUE. They had to put in ticket after ticket. By the time someone got to me, it passed the 14 days. SHOCKER. Then they kept saying there was an issue with SSN again. Another 3 months trying to fix it. I was told it was fixed. So when I attempted again to upgrade, I was told my anytime upgrade wasnt available. Then someone else told me on my SSN was on a block list. Never herd of that before and the agents couldn't explain why either. Kept giving me the rub around, did everything they asked, for them to tell me they couldn't do anything. So, moral of the story. They are false advertising the anytime upgrade. They enable it if you upgrade once, and if you keep trying to use a service you're PAYING for, they add you to a block list which prevents you from upgrading. Bravo spectrum. What a scam you have become. My bf ended up taking over my account to see if he could upgrade since it'll be a new SSN but NOPE! SURPRISE! spectrum comes out with excuses to not upgrade, now its not the SSN, now its the financing part. Even tho they keep telling you you can upgrade WHENEVER, HOW MANY TIMES YOU WANT, TO WHATEVER PHONE YOU WANT. And you pay for all of this just so they can come back and give you BS excuses to block you from using a service you're paying for. DO NOT USE SPECTRUM. THEY ARE A SCAM. They also cut your discounts if you move somewhere they don't service. And your bill goes up.

Hello, I have had Spectrum Internet since 2016. I have never had an issue with the service, until now. I have one question to Spectrum Corporate...Where do you get off? Let me give yall a quick backstory before I get to the meat of this review... I have been unemployed for the last 25+ months, and NOT BY CHOICE. I was let go from my job as a Software Engineer on 6th July 2023. I started my job hunt two days later. I recieved unemployment from the middle of July to mid January 2024, because average timeframe for Unemployment Benefits is six months. From 8th July 2023 - 8th January 2025, exactly one year and a half, I have placed over 3000+ applications. 15%, or 450, of those applications turning into initial contacts, and only 5%, or 22, of those turning into interviews. Out the 22 interviews I have had, none have been very fruitful. I did manage to get something out of this though...on 8th February 2025 I suffered a hemorraghic stroke, or more commonly known as a brain aneurism. Why? Great question. This was due to the following: 1) 3000+ sent applications/resumes 2) Of those in (1), only 15% turned to initial conversations 3) Of those in (2), only 5% made first round interview.. Don't ask about second round interview stats because I wasn't keeping track 4) Higher than normal high blood pressure 5) Higher levels of stress due to: a) Bills b) The lovely employment gap bs c) Spending, time, up to hours at a time "tailoring" for each application. Stopped that after the 500th application sent d) Add the stress from a family member being a 75yo diabetic with Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease, soon to be on dialysis e) Add the fact I cannot do full onsite because I also watch out for my dad... To add more injury, this same family member was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve, as well as lymphoma. He is currently receiving chemotherapy. Not only this, but myself and now my family member currently need to have medical equipment connected to my network, so we can be monitored remotely for X amount of time. And now, for the meat of this review. Why did I just give you all that semi-personal information? Here's why. My internet service was interrupted on 15th August 2025. I was away when it was interrupted, and when I was made aware, I immediately called Spectrum. From my conversations with those I spoke with, I was first told that I would not be given an extension nor a partial payment due to me having a history of late payments (Geez, I wonder why I would be making late, even very late payments). Then, I was told that as of a few months ago, Spectrum no longer offers extensions/partial payment UNLESS IT WAS AN ERROR ON THEIR END. I made my plea about making a partial payment, since I had 25% of the late payment on hand, and would be making the rest of it in a few days, because I needed the service back online ASAP due to the medical equipment, and was told several times I was not going to receive any kind of extensions/partial payment. The minimum payment was paid today, 16th August 2025, however, the money had to be taken away from a very limited budget set aside for MEDICATIONS, of which ARE SEVERELY NEEDED...so my question still stands..WHERE DO YOU GET OFF?!

Credit where credit is due. After my moaning and groaning about Spectrum, I finally got past the suicide-inducing robo-telephone operator [she should be pensioned off], and the engineers arrived. They were great. They crawled through our attic and sorted out the wiring. We now have constant internet and a TV picture which doesn't crap out every 30 seconds with a loss of sound. We are now happy customers. Thank you, Spectrum.

I love that Spectrum reaches such rural places with their streaming network. My family lives out on a farm and Spectrum was one of the few options that we could choose from. And although it was one of our only options, Spectrum has so many options for channels. I love that I can watch my Christmas movies or favorite TV shows all on the same service. I also love to watch college football and I love that I can jump back and forth between games when I am waiting for it to start. And Spectrum is very affordable for how far they stream too.

Mostly it's great but there are several things about Spectrum that are confusing or disappointing to me. Firstly, the due date of the monthly payment could never be changed for me, but it was changed by Spectrum at least 2 - 3 times in less than 5 years. Secondly, the internet goes down for awhile each night around 12:30 AM for daily backup or maintenance or something. I understand this, unfortunately my husband works second shift and he can't get online to distress at the end of his workdays. Another issue is equipment. I had called about another issue last year and the two told me my equipment was old enough that I could get an updated box and pay the same price for better/more service. The device was delivered but it's been sitting in the box for a month. I don't even know what box to replace. They had I could set it up myself but I have ME and cognitive issues and cannot understand instructions, but they won't send anyone to help without charging me. Also there is no way to get any reduction of the bill since I've been such a good and long time customer.

They are my business provider - First you alway sign up for the business plan if you are serious. As a business customer you go to the head of the class when things go wrong as they can. The speed is lightening fast, their customer service is consistently outstanding. I have had Comcast in the past and am so thrilled to not have to deal with Comcast and their "we just don't care" attitude.

A completely happy customer!

I have had satellite companies prior to going with Charter Spectrum. I am so much happier with this company as I live in the Pacific Northwest so whenever there is a storm there is a good chance of losing the satellite connections. Also, the speed of the internet is so much faster than satellite options. Price is high no matter who you go with so I woulld rate that a tie with the satellite company internet

I wanted my mother to have a better internet experience, as she is really into streaming services. We spoke with Avery from Spectrum - Dallas, TX - and he was one of the most stunning agents I've ever spoken with. He was knowledgeable, accurate, and prompt. My mother is super happy with her 400mbps upgrade, and I'm excited that Avery helped make her experience more enjoyable. Thank you, good sir!👍

Spectrum is one of the best companies for internet cable and phone services you can get they keep their appointments on time they are serious about satisfying their customers I would highly recommend if you're going with the internet service go with spectrum but they have a tendency to go that extra mile and contact you multiple times either through your phone email wondering why you didn't keep your appointment so they are a punctual company they are right there at your house when they say they're going to be in the very polite very cordial they welcome you in with a good deals I get this company five stars because they actually came to my house and I had spectrum installed in one of my tenants rooms here in San Antonio and they were pretty quick the installer was very nice it was a nice guy not to mention their customer service is like top notch if you ever have a problem the service or one of the items or some of the equipment feel free to contact them anytime

One thing is a given. Everyone, everywhere complains about their cable TV and internet providers. Even when it’s good. Spectrum is actually the best ISP I’ve ever had. Of course, everything is locality-dependent. I live near Palm Springs and other than severe heat, which usually doesn’t negatively impact internet service, we don’t often get extreme weather-- especially rain. In the 3 yrs I’ve had internet with Spectrum, my internet has probably gone down twice or maybe 3 times, for less than a few hours, total. If even that. I like them. And when you leverage your existing Spectrum internet with Spectrum Wireless, you get extremely well-priced cellphone service that uses the Verizon network— which is the best cell network in this part of the California desert. My advice is to not listen to everyone who constantly complains about their Internet service. Sometimes it’s just a lot of talk. Spectrum is actually quite good.

Spectrum put a return filter on my service line without me knowing. This means that it will interrupt the service line that it's on BECAUSE something in THAT line is causing issues for other users (this is a condo building). I had no internet, called it in and it turns out that the LINES were so old (running from the outside box to our unit), that "maintenance" put a "return filter" on my line and never called us. I called customer service for a credit and they said that they can only offer a "courtesy credit" for being such a dedicated customer. This comes from DREW on the "leadership team". When I had asked for the full credit from the dated tag, he said that he "can't work on hypotheticals" (return filter was not in the service call notes). I was given two options: 1- the courtesy credit of $25.80 or a 1-day credit for the service call. When I said "that it didn't make sense not to credit our account for the time that it was down", DREW said that "it sounds like you're declining the courtesy credit and that I [Drew] would be happy to apply the $5 one-day credit. Drew is not good at his job if the goal is actual customer support and problem solving without being a wise-guy/patronizing. 1- Terrible service 2- Terrible leadership 3- Awful customer appreciation I've been with them for 15-years, has gone from $42+-/mo to 88/mo and they gave me $25.80 on an $88/mo bill. The return filter was dated 04/12 (tagged). It wasn't in Williams notes though (the guy at the service call), so they wouldn't offer a credit for the actual down time. SPECTRUM is hands down among the absolute, most horrible, terrible, worst internet providers out there on every level. We have NO other options with where we are located so they've got us cornered. There has never been a time that their service has been better than fair. If you have options, the "other option" has GOT to be better, so use ANY other option.

@spectrum I'm not normally this person but I am very disappointed With Spectrum Services!! We pay for upgraded internet so my husband and daughter can game or we can use the computer, tv and not have lagging. We went about 2.5 months with crap internet, you could only watch 2 minutes of Netflix before either froze and closed the app, couldn't hardly load the computer for homeowork or Xbox, everything took forever or froze. I waited to call a while because spectrum was having outages nationwide so I thought that was the problem. I called in December, explained all the issues and they checked it out and told us it would be till after new years that it would be fixed and the could credit the amount of time back to my account for the trouble we'd had.. It wasn't fixed/working properly till the end of January after having hardly anything since November. I called Customer Service, the employee listened and looked at the account and we were only approved to get the credit back for 22 days of inconvenience. They couldn't see any prior service (the actual usage availability) on their side. They could only go by the first date (out of 3) that I called and the date the technician looked at it at our home (and said it was a bigger issue that Spectrum would have to fix with water in the lines all around us or a part in the box). So a truck crew was supposed to come out and didnt come out till end of January and they didnt have the date. I''m grateful the issue was fixed. We've been a loyal customer for years but that's ridiculous.

I had Spectrum in the past and I've considered going back to them. Although they offer 'no contract' options, their prices aren't much different from AT&T U-verse. This is the reason that I'm still with AT&T. I will say that Spectrum service is reliable although finding a branch location to retrieve and return equipment isn't very convenient. I had to travel to very undesirable neighborhood during the time that I was a customer. Frankly, that was one of the reasons I decided to do away with their service. Undesirable services tends to come with undesirable neighborhoods. When calling them on yesterday to consider getting their internet only, the representative I spoke with repeatedly gave me bundled service prices against my request. He asked me if I was interested in signing up and I told him no because he ignored my question just so that he could pitch a higher sale. He then told me that he was doing his job and I told him that his job was to listen to the customer FIRST... I assumed that was part of the job. I wish someone could listen to the call. I'm sure Spectrum did not train him in that manner. If you're not interested in a contract, this may be a good option.

Well, I probably am among the multitude who like and enjoy many of the features and quality of this particular carrier, but also dislike some of their particular ways of communicating or providing their services. Not as many outages like DirecTV has. Also, with, Spectrum, my On Demand works all the time. When I was with the other provider, On Demand was more like Off Demand. The only thing I can think to improve Spectrum would be, when we have storms and the messages invade our TV, I'd like an easier way to get rid of it so I can get back to viewing my program. The only way to remove it, is to change the channel and then go back to my program. We should just be able to click one button to clear that message after it's read.

Finding an Internet Service Provider (ISP) is always a tough task especially when taking into account cost to quality. Spectrum is quality internet service provider but at a whopping $70 a month unbundled, is it really worth it? Not all customers are in need of cable, telephone and internet services. It would be nice to see Spectrum offer individual packages free of disadvantageous prices to a non-bundle. Also, everyone could benefit from a customer loyalty discount. Overall their service is great but it would be even better at a somewhat reduced price point.

Spectrum has always provided an excellent entertainment value until this year. It was not announced until college football started that they were unable to negotiate a contract with Disney and ESPN. My family was left with a contract for cable and internet service with a need for another necessary streaming service to get content that was desired. We are older and used to cable television but will just have to get used to a streaming service after deciding on one this week before other games this weekend are missed. We will cancel our cable with Spectrum as it seems their negotiations are ineffective.

I've had Spectrum for around three years and I've been decently happy with the WiFi quality. It's fast enough and rarely goes out in my area. However, the price seems to rise with no warning sometimes. I started at $50 a month and somehow ended up paying $80 a month. Still a good price, but it would be nice to have more communication about when and how prices change. Getting ahold of a customer service rep is difficult sometimes too. When they do answer the phone, you're on hold for at least an hour before getting anything done. You don't need to call too often, though! Good service for a good price.

After Century Link switched to Brightspeed, our Internet was nothing short of TERRIBLE. Spectrum has been a GAME CHANGER. We have only had it for 2 months, but already love it! It is fast, reliable & SO MUCH BETTER. Their tech had it switched and set up within 30 minutes. They were also very accommodating when it came to working with my work schedule. Idk how it will be after the year of guaranteed pricing runs out, but right now--couldn't be happier with the service!

I have been with Spectrum for about three and a half years now. I really like Spectrum for the way it works. You never have to worry if it's raining and you rarely have to worry even if you have bad bad weather. When I have had a problem with billing they have resolved the problem quickly and it was nothing for me to worry about and I like that. It has always been a pleasure to work with the Spectrum company from the initial startup to after I moved and had to start up again. It was a very smooth transition. I have no complaints against Spectrum. I have only good things to say.

I've been a Spectrum customer for a very long time when it was initially called Charter Communications. Initially, it seemed it was the only cable company in the area that offered cable, internet, and phone service at a good price. However, now with so many other companies that offer the same services, and some offering digital, without having to use cable and at a reduced price, it pays to do your research. Also, since the world of streaming has come to the forefront, offering local channels, and some phone companies having sign-on specials, including internet service, makes having cable service obsolete in my opinion. So, with that being said, I've removed my services and have gotten services that have saved me money as well as served my entertainment needs also. So, although Spectrum is a good company, it pays to shop around.

The service is good with great speed. Outages are addressed pretty well. They will even comp you on the time you were out of service. Only thing is that they dont let you not be on a promotional plan which will end and then you get charged up. You have to really be on top of the billing situation with them. They also flood you with advertisements for services you may not want which is sometimes annoying.

Spectrum is by far the best internet provider we could’ve ever had. It’s service is very speedy and works well in several places. Due to my husbands work we commute a lot and always get spectrum installed immediately because we know without a doubt that it will not let us down. Recently we had a power outage and it damaged a fuze but it was quickly resolved with new equipment and up and running by the same day.

I have been using Charter/Spectrum as my internet provider in three different locations over the past 16 years. The speed and reliability have been above average as compared to what I hear from other people. The price appears to be competitive, but by no means a bargain. Spectrum also provides a free security suite of anti-virus software, which I no longer use since I have another product. Outages are seldom. Customer service is fair. I recommend Spectrum and would use again.

While I am satisfied with Spectrum's service overall, there are some points of contention that I must address. Sometimes, and it's happened twice in 2022, when their service goes out and then comes back on, the cable modem is no longer recognized as a valid device. This led to one service call on the phone and a lot of time trying all the basic things out to get it to work (reboot modem, router, etc), and it gets escalated to another technician higher up in the ladder when it doesn't work correctly. When this happens, the IP address usually changes, and you can ping the gateway, however, traffic is disallowed, that is, until I plug another machine directly into the modem and it works again (with a different MAC address). I had to spoof the working machine's MAC address into the router to get it working again. (none of the techs were very savvy and just said I had a bad router - which was never the case - the issue was on their side: blocking network traffic). When this happened a second time, a few months later, (blocked network traffic), I removed the spoofed MAC address from the router and it worked again normally. I also noticed the IP address went back to the old one (from months earlier). Basically, I've had to fix their issue from my end simply by changing a MAC address and their tech support, while friendly, seems to default to "it's your problem" instead of doing some proper research (granted, they've always been able to see the modem & ping it) or admitting the problem is theirs. That's my only real gripe, with the exception that the monthly rate keeps jumping a few bucks every year and my speed is the same as it was for the last 5 years (limited by my cable modem @~350Mbps Down/10Mbps Up - but I'm paying for Gbps rates). I don't get tv or phone service but it would be nice if I only paid for what I'm using, but there is really no plan for these lower rates. They have good customer service, overall, just would like a break on the rate hikes if I'm not using the bandwidth. So 4 stars.

Having recently moved from my old apartment, where the cable was iffy and minimal, at best, i found Spectrum to be head and shoulders above. For, starters, NO outages. Not even in inclimate weather. I have yet to experience billing problems, which I found frequntly irritating at my old place. They even let me know I could get a senior discount! I would happily suggest Spectrum to anyone having problems with their current provider.

We have Spectrum for both cable and internet. We chose the 200 mm for both speed and distance. (We needed the signal to go all the way to the pool house and the second floor. Pleased to say it works and is well worth the extra $29 a month.) Have had good experience with Spectrum over the past five years but I do wish they would reactivate the vacation suspension of service again as we are only here in Florida for seven months a year.

We live in a area that didn't have internet provider services except through satellite. We had been trying to get Spectrum to service our area for years. That process was very difficult and were always told that they didn't know how to go about us requesting their service. We finally got Spectrum to provide internet service to our area. I am guessing because the pandemic put a huge demand on internet service to rural areas. Now that we finally have Spectrum, we are very pleased with the service. I am paying much less money for much higher speed. I just wish it hadn't taken this long to get service in our area.

Spectrum noticed a problem on their end at my house when the guy came out he checked everything he checked inside checked outside he found out it was a line coming from the outside back to the house he replaced it and wrote up the paperwork so they could come out and re-bury the line they were there by 10 o’clock the next morning bury the line you don’t even know it’s there. My internet has been working so much better now.
