After Century Link switched to Brightspeed, our Internet was nothing short of TERRIBLE. Spectrum has been a GAME CHANGER. We have only had it for 2 months, but already love it! It is fast, reliable & SO MUCH BETTER. Their tech had it switched and set up within 30 minutes. They were also very accommodating when it came to working with my work schedule. Idk how it will be after the year of guaranteed pricing runs out, but right now--couldn't be happier with the service!

I have been with Spectrum for about three and a half years now. I really like Spectrum for the way it works. You never have to worry if it's raining and you rarely have to worry even if you have bad bad weather. When I have had a problem with billing they have resolved the problem quickly and it was nothing for me to worry about and I like that. It has always been a pleasure to work with the Spectrum company from the initial startup to after I moved and had to start up again. It was a very smooth transition. I have no complaints against Spectrum. I have only good things to say.

I've been a Spectrum customer for a very long time when it was initially called Charter Communications. Initially, it seemed it was the only cable company in the area that offered cable, internet, and phone service at a good price. However, now with so many other companies that offer the same services, and some offering digital, without having to use cable and at a reduced price, it pays to do your research. Also, since the world of streaming has come to the forefront, offering local channels, and some phone companies having sign-on specials, including internet service, makes having cable service obsolete in my opinion. So, with that being said, I've removed my services and have gotten services that have saved me money as well as served my entertainment needs also. So, although Spectrum is a good company, it pays to shop around.

The service is good with great speed. Outages are addressed pretty well. They will even comp you on the time you were out of service. Only thing is that they dont let you not be on a promotional plan which will end and then you get charged up. You have to really be on top of the billing situation with them. They also flood you with advertisements for services you may not want which is sometimes annoying.

Spectrum is by far the best internet provider we could’ve ever had. It’s service is very speedy and works well in several places. Due to my husbands work we commute a lot and always get spectrum installed immediately because we know without a doubt that it will not let us down. Recently we had a power outage and it damaged a fuze but it was quickly resolved with new equipment and up and running by the same day.

I have been using Charter/Spectrum as my internet provider in three different locations over the past 16 years. The speed and reliability have been above average as compared to what I hear from other people. The price appears to be competitive, but by no means a bargain. Spectrum also provides a free security suite of anti-virus software, which I no longer use since I have another product. Outages are seldom. Customer service is fair. I recommend Spectrum and would use again.

While I am satisfied with Spectrum's service overall, there are some points of contention that I must address. Sometimes, and it's happened twice in 2022, when their service goes out and then comes back on, the cable modem is no longer recognized as a valid device. This led to one service call on the phone and a lot of time trying all the basic things out to get it to work (reboot modem, router, etc), and it gets escalated to another technician higher up in the ladder when it doesn't work correctly. When this happens, the IP address usually changes, and you can ping the gateway, however, traffic is disallowed, that is, until I plug another machine directly into the modem and it works again (with a different MAC address). I had to spoof the working machine's MAC address into the router to get it working again. (none of the techs were very savvy and just said I had a bad router - which was never the case - the issue was on their side: blocking network traffic). When this happened a second time, a few months later, (blocked network traffic), I removed the spoofed MAC address from the router and it worked again normally. I also noticed the IP address went back to the old one (from months earlier). Basically, I've had to fix their issue from my end simply by changing a MAC address and their tech support, while friendly, seems to default to "it's your problem" instead of doing some proper research (granted, they've always been able to see the modem & ping it) or admitting the problem is theirs. That's my only real gripe, with the exception that the monthly rate keeps jumping a few bucks every year and my speed is the same as it was for the last 5 years (limited by my cable modem @~350Mbps Down/10Mbps Up - but I'm paying for Gbps rates). I don't get tv or phone service but it would be nice if I only paid for what I'm using, but there is really no plan for these lower rates. They have good customer service, overall, just would like a break on the rate hikes if I'm not using the bandwidth. So 4 stars.

Having recently moved from my old apartment, where the cable was iffy and minimal, at best, i found Spectrum to be head and shoulders above. For, starters, NO outages. Not even in inclimate weather. I have yet to experience billing problems, which I found frequntly irritating at my old place. They even let me know I could get a senior discount! I would happily suggest Spectrum to anyone having problems with their current provider.

We have Spectrum for both cable and internet. We chose the 200 mm for both speed and distance. (We needed the signal to go all the way to the pool house and the second floor. Pleased to say it works and is well worth the extra $29 a month.) Have had good experience with Spectrum over the past five years but I do wish they would reactivate the vacation suspension of service again as we are only here in Florida for seven months a year.

We live in a area that didn't have internet provider services except through satellite. We had been trying to get Spectrum to service our area for years. That process was very difficult and were always told that they didn't know how to go about us requesting their service. We finally got Spectrum to provide internet service to our area. I am guessing because the pandemic put a huge demand on internet service to rural areas. Now that we finally have Spectrum, we are very pleased with the service. I am paying much less money for much higher speed. I just wish it hadn't taken this long to get service in our area.

We get the gig service and it's been pretty good so far. We started our service in September of 2021. There are two things to be aware of. 1.) The payment date does NOT match the date you signed up for. We signed up on the 21st but our first full bill was October 14th. We were told it would be the 21st since that is when we signed up. We will have to pay extra if we want to change the bill date. 2.) They don't communicate with each other. We had a technician come out because our internet wasn't working during our first month. They were told "yep it's up and running on our end" and they replaced the ENTIRE wiring from the telephone pole to the house. Everything. It still didn't work. They talked to 5 different people. They were scratching their heads. 3 hours of work... They get ahold of the 6th person just to find out that no one had started our service yet. They said it happens often. First person doesn't do it right and then most reps after them don't bother checking. Just say "yep good on my end" so they can move on to the next thing. The repair guys were amazing, and we were "compensated" for the inconvenience. On top of this experience, there have been several other miscommunications between reps and other departments. Other than that, I like it. I'm wireless and it's decent, the wired is amazing. Good for gaming.

I have been with Spectrum for about 2 years now . Initially had some problems but they came out on the sevices call & replaced from my house to the street all of the coaxial cable ( which happenned to be the 70's era type ). They also replaced my Modem & Router & every connection & wallplate in between! Fantastic Service! Recently they responded positively to T Mobile & Verizon pricing by basically matching prices but also doubling my speeds to 400 Mbps. Custermer Service & Technicians are all well trained & top notch.. Highly Recommend

My wife and I have Spectrum as a internet service in our home. We use it for our television and for our laptops. Our cell phones instantly connect to the internet when we walk into our homes, which cut cost on our cell phone bill. Spectrum has been a reliable service to my family for years now. The bill is very affordable. Our internet has always been constant. The customer service has always been professional when ever we called and had problems. We have a two story home and Spectrum covers both upstairs and downstairs. Thank you Spectrum.

I have been on Spectrum for 3 years now, even though I have a choice of 3 ISPs at my home. Speed is consistent and reasonably close to advertised speed, occasionally exceeding the promised speed. I have experienced very few outages. Tech support is very good. They provide a good antivirus and their web site does a speed test upon request. My one complaint is about their email server. I've had difficulty using it and they provided me with several email IDs on different servers. One is required for billing and a different one for technical support. This is confusing, but I use a third email ID on Google mail for all my actual correspondence (except with Spectrum). A plus is they have twice increased my internet speed at no increase in cost. A downside is they charge extra if you want a modem/router that supports WiFi. The one they provide is not state-of-the-art, either. I use my own WiFi router that I purchased. Their "default" router only has one ethernet port so I need my own ethernet switch, as well.

I have honestly not had a better ISP than Spectrum. We used Spectrum, formerly Time Warner, for almost 15 years for cable, internet and phone services and never once had a complaint about service. Speed, consistently and always reliable. If it were available in our new home area I would definitely still be a customer. If I had to list a con it would be getting ahold of an actual human when contacting customer support but it was a rare occasion that we had to anyways.

During the pandemic when I called and was told what do you want me to do about it and my kids used to connect from my cell phone via Hotpost VERIZON had great connection even used to watch Netflix on my TV via connected from Cell Phone. Submit your address to Verizon FIOS online so they will see demand in your area and probably expand.

I asked then why are all my neighbors having the same problem - they don’t use my router. They then asked if my Ethernet cable items kept a good signal. I told them I don’t use Ethernet cables - the purpose of WIFI is not have cables. Once again, I was told to check my router. Spectrum service is getting terrible.

Moving SCAM! watch out!! I had been a loyal customer of spectrum for years and then I had to move. I called spectrum and told them I moved November 2023, then I asked if there was anyway i could keep my account because I liked them so much, but I would not move to my new address until sometime the following year 2024 and I did not know when. The representative I spoke to said 'sure you can go on seasonal hold for 4 something a month'. I agreed to do it. she neglected to tell me that I would have to pay for the month of november - regular bill of over $70 - even though I was not and had not used the service before the seasonal hold kicked in. ok so thats not even the worse part. I got calls from spectrum about my bill and I was informed that my about the neglect and i paid willingly. I explained AGAIN that I had moved from the address and was on seasonal hold. They told me it was fine and I would only have to pay $4 something from then on. THEN January 2024 I start getting multiple calls from spectrum again. The representatives said I had to close my account because someone was moving into my old place. I said 'but I am paying seasonal hold, and I told spectrum I moved in November'. They said it did not matter and I HAD TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT. THEN they told me in order to do so they would put me on hold to speak to multiple representatives on phone - billing, accounting etc - to close my account. But I said ' you called me. find a solution and then call me back. I cant be staying on the phone talking to multiple people for hours because a mistake spectrum did'. THEN THATS when the HARASSEMENT started. I got multiple calls a day for 3 days straight with different representatives telling to call spectrum to close my account. Finally I told one representative that spectrum needs to pay me back the months I had on hold first if they sold me on the idea i could keep my account when I specifically told them I moved and would not know when or where yet. Then not only were they all extremely rude and unsympathetic to my situation, even laughed at the fact I said I needed to write a review and warn people, but blamed the last representative for neglecting to telling me that seasonal hold is not for people who have moved out AND they have no record of me EVER saying I moved!!! What!?!?!? I thought this was recorded lines? so i ended up being on the phone January 13th for over an hour trying to close my account because no one would help. spoke to 5 representative and the last said YOU CANT CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT because your on seasonal hold. what is going on?? Eventually someone was able to call their manager and tell them to close my account. nightmare over... or was it? YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT. I continued to get - THAT SAME DAY I was told my account was closed by a MANAGER - MULTIPLE to calls from spectrum representatives saying to close my account. For the record thats today. Literally just got another call while writing this. Now i dont know what to do. I just keep getting harassed by spectrum representatives and probably will continue getting charged by them. what a scam!! and what a nightmare!! beware

I didn't like Spectrum internet bundled with cable TV and phone. Each month I was ripped off by the $267 payment and then they refused to hire me even for a sales job because of my driving record, even though I drove a semi for 23 years and a car for 35 years and have a nice late model vehicle and good insurance. I finally wisened up and ditched the cable that is yesterday's technology and switched to Kinetic powered by Windstream, puretalk phones, and streaming. Smart TVs are the thing now and Spectrum is going the way of the dodo just like Blockbuster did. BTW, my dentist's office was suffering with no phone service for at least a week and a half and then I ran up there and talked to the secretary who said they have Spectrum! Big mistake! But what do you expect from such a huge multinational company? "We don't care, we're the phone company." (Roseanne R.)

So, I'm thinking your view of Spectrum is going to depend very much on what you are used to. Like the article says, it may be all you can get. And something is better than nothing, right? Unfortunately for me I came to live in the Midwest from, well, let's just say somewhere very, very far away. And it's not what I'm used to, at all. It's slow, and I mean slow. I had better internet 20 years ago where I lived than I do now in WI. That can't be right. I can accept that Spectrum isn't as good as the best available anywhere else at this moment in time, but not as good as something that was two decades ago is not the same thing at all. The technology they have me use is archaic, I've asked them why and can't get a straight answer from them. It's like I'm speaking Martian and they don't understand what I'm asking. So why is all this the way it is? Well, I'm going to guess. It's because they are all you have to pick from, they don't have any real competition so they don't really have to try. So they don't. The free market only really drives innovation if it really is a free market. That's why they are happy to be stuck where they are with a service that's so out of date, because that's easy for them. They would long ago gone out of business anywhere else with real, quality internet providers as competition. Or improved, it's a bit like evolution. No need for Spectrum to evolve though, they can remain a dinosaur.

Only been screwed over and over by spectrum. Started service at one address, was there for a week. I went with spectrum for the price. It was 29.99 for 400 mbps. Decide to move to a different apartment as the first was filthy. Call the transfer service, they advised I’d get the same service at the same price. I was on the phone for an hour trying to get it set up. Finally someone just made a new account. I said sure, as I wanted off the phone and I have no idea how their systems work. Anyway, I call back as it wasn’t working when I tried to set up. I was on the phone for over 4 hours that evening. Finally the guy advised me of my bill being 44.99. I said no I signed up for 29.99, he said no you didn’t. Anyway I was really upset about the price as I was getting screwed. My new account was only 200 mbps for 44.99. So 15 more dollars and 200 mbps slower. Real cool as a new customer. Finally the guy decides that someone has to come out and fix my router to get it to work. So the earliest someone was available was Tuesday at 6 pm, three days from now. So I go 3 days in a new apartment with no WiFi. Finally 6 pm on Tuesday, the guy is here. I wait and decided to call and was guaranteed he’d be there by 7. I get a call at 6:55 and they said the guy was running 2 hours behind and would be able to come till 9. NINE PM AT NIGHT! So I said screw it im desperate to get it hooked up, I’ll wait. Finally he shows at 9:30 and he was friendly, but figured out that he needs in my apartments cable closet. He couldn’t get into it as the maintenance men leave at 8. Soooo he calls to reschedule, the soonest someone could come was SATURDAY AT 3. I had no option. He apologized and told me to call customer care to get the week credited back, which I did. So I wait a whole week with out WiFi. Finally the comes and takes him two hours to set it up because he got “lost” between buildings. So he advised upon the situation that I should have received the same pricing for moving. He advised I call. I call and explain the situation to two or three times to a rep. He tries to tell me I’m getting the best deal ever. However I kept saying I’m pay 15 dollars more for a lesser service. Finally he understood and sent me to retention. I spoke with Aubrey M. Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. He constantly kept talking over me and would get louder if I tried to explain. Had no desire to try and solve the problem. I was trying to explain it to him again, and he interrupts and I continue to try talking and he gets louder to where I had to start yelling to ask him if he’d let me finish. He kept saying that what I was explaining isn’t true because they don’t offer that. Finally I forwarded him an email confirmation of my order. Suddenly believes me as if he’s known the whole time. And says he’ll see what he can do and just abruptly puts me on hold. Finally he said they’ll give me 400 mbps as he sees where I had the promotion at the previous address. But they couldn’t lower the price. At this point I was upset and decided I’d start looking for a new provider. So I’ve been looking around. However today I get someone in the mail from spectrum about an exclusive offer for my address of 400 mbps for 29.99. Hmmm. So I call and explain the issue and she is searching etc. gets the account and said they don’t have a plan for 29.99. The rep had no clue what I was talking about, yet I literally had a letter from spectrum. She made me read the letter to her before she believed me. Finally I explained the situation and she tried to see what she could do. Ended up saying they can’t do anything better, sorry. So I advised I’d be switching providers as I’ve just been screwed too many times. And she said okay, well when you need help doing that call back. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I can get google fiber for cheaper than my 50 dollar bill with spectrum.

Outage in my area that did not affect me but Charter techs took my business service down without warning. When I spoke with one of the techs onsite, he was very rude and arrogant stating “we don’t have to let any customer know that we are taking down their service”. He wasn’t wearing a badge so I did not get his name. Although you may not be “required” to notify your customers...it would be nice if you considered your business customers. We were in the middle of conducting business and it didn’t matter to these individuals. A simple “we apologize” would have went a long way. It’s called customer service Charter....you may want to try it some day! Please remember, your technicians represent your company. I have been a Spectrum internet customer for 20 months. On a positive note: during that time we have experienced only 2 major internet outages. Spectrum notified us by phone regarding the outages, with estimates of duration and then called again when the service was restored. However, the apartment we rent was wired for internet delivery at sometime in the past, so when we opted for Spectrum internet, we were faced with months of problems: weak signal and signal disruptions. During the first six months we had 7 service calls by 7 different technicians, all with different explanations and "fixes" for our problems. Phone calls to the technical help number were also unproductive. During this time, the entire apartment was rewired, the outside delivery line was replaced, and our modem was replaced. Eventually Spectrum decided that the power lines to the house had something to do with the problem, so now we were on to National Grid, who inspected the line and told us it was within "acceptable levels", so we reported this information to Spectrum. We have still not had a total resolution to the problem, with signal problems occurring ever month. I've given up on Spectrum resolving the issue, instead I just call the number and have them "ping" my modem which almost always sets us back to full-strength signal. I never expected that Spectrum could not consistently deliver internet.

They are better than anyone else in the area, but our internet goes out frequently and have to reset box. Each tech that comes out says they've fixed the problem, whether they've put in new wiring somewhere or replaced a box. But the problem always comes back within a few hours - weeks. Also the jump from their introductory rate to 1 year later is shameful! Every year you have to leave for a few weeks/months or threaten to leave (once you've shown you will follow through) to get the price back down to less than absolute robbery!

During my three years at Fort Bliss, Texas, I have never had an issue with this company. Their costumer serve is awesome. We do have the accational outage, but it's due to the weather.

Had a basic package of internet, TV, and mobile phone. I didn't need or want the phone service but had to keep it since it was a part of the initial introductory package. I told them I was on a fixed income and the most important item I required was the internet for my online business. My first year bills averaged around $145 per month. After the first year and the special introductory offer expired my bill jumped to an average of $260 a month for the exact same service. Then in Sept. 2023 my bill went up to $308 dollars a month. I could not afford this so I canceled the TV and phone service. I kept the internet and now my bill is around $117 a month with no specials or discounts applied. Service is moderately stable but I have had my internet go down more times than I would like. When we had the basic TV service it would go down at least once a month, sometimes for 24 to 72 hours. When the internet works it meets my needs.

I had some issues at first but their tech quickly figured out it was my electrical. Between the electric company and spectrum we got the issue fixed and saved my apartment from possible fire. The rerouted my Internet wire and everything has been great ever since.

I have had spectrum for 4 years. I definitely think it's mostly reliable. We have been getting some more frequent outages lately but they have been in the middle of the night so maybe it is due to working on the system. They do send notices indicating that there is an outage in our area and when it is back on. We have not had any slow-down issues and spectrum was great when we needed a new and upgraded modem. They sent it to me and helped me over the phone to get it transferred over.
