In August of 2023 I filed a claim. I made several calls and finally in December 2023 a guy come out and looked at our dishwasher which had not worked since August. Two parts had died and they were no longer available, but yet we received another email with a repair date of January 27, 2024. A month away. After more calls and arguments yes you had one employee who was horrible, rude, told us he could give us $50 to cancel our plan which had 2 years left on it, finally hung up on us. We called back and the 2nd person after this person was pleasant and got us a couple hundred dollars for a new dishwasher. This will help pay for the installation. The cheapest Maytag dishwasher on sale right now is over $500. This warranty has been worthless. We are telling our friends to not get a Choice Home Warranty. Rude people! Cheap pay for products that can’t be repaired!!!

Choice Warranty looked for 10 days for a company to fix my GEO Thermal Heater; they could not find a company to repair it in 10 days. I was, and still am discussed with them. I called them every couple of days during this entire process explaining that I live in Nebraska and it is cold in the winter time. I NEED MY GEO THERMAL HEATER REPAIRED. I stated that I could find a company to repair my unit. They reluctantly allowed me to find a company to repair my unit. I found a company and they repaired it; it took me 24 hours to get it repaired. This was part of a Reimbursement process that Choice Home Warranty uses when they cannot find a vendor to fix a covered unit. I paid for the company to repair my GEO Thermal Heater and Choice Home Warranty would them reimburse me for covered expenses, within the next 30 days, less the service fee. They sent me a reimbursement check in about 3 weeks which was $43.36 short of a complete reimbursement, less the service fee. I hire a service company like Choice Home Warranty to make repairs on items in my home, to make my life easy, and to get things repaired quickly and correctly. This was probably one of the WORST PROCESS THAT i HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED WITH HOME REPAIRS. I am truly disappointed with Choice Home Warranty and I am concerned that I have contracted with the wrong company to provide home warranty services in my area and on my home.

There’s a lawsuit against them by the Arizona, Attorney General. It outlines exactly the same problems that I have along with hundreds of other people maybe more. The contract says one thing but then when it comes to paying a claim, they find a way to deny it which is not in the contract that happened to me with some ceiling fans that they needed to repair and they authorized it but then they said it only covers two. And if I don’t use the vendor they sent them I don’t get any benefit at all.

CHW schedules repair appointment with fictional company, that have 7777777777 as the phone number 2 days out from claim, the company never shows up and I can't reach them. Them CHW has me waiting for a new company to get the repair and I have already paid the $75 service charge, still waiting for repair. Not a reliable company and not customer friendly.

It was difficult to work with CHW and to finally get my repairs completed. Each time I was able to finally get to a live agent they did not have a good of the issues and actions by CHW. We had to start over during every call. Very difficult to work with CHW.

It took 10 days to have a technician check out my refrigerator. The first technician was canceled by Choice Home Warranty causing it to take another week for a different technician to show up. How is someone expected to go almost 2 weeks without a refrigerator. This is totally unacceptable. I am not pleased with Choice Home Warranty and this service for my refrigerator.

You have to wait a lot for their assigned contractors to show up. And then most of the claims are denied for some reason or other. Not worth the price and hassle. I will definitely not renew. Only reason I am giving 2 stars is that the times when the contractor shows up on time and does the work, it is good value.

Recently, I had a problem with my air conditioner where the Coil is leaking Freon. The claims person refused to replace or repair of the coil and we quested the AC technician, fill the Freon and leave it until it quits. This is not the way to do business. We consistently have 80° temperatures here I have lung and breathing issues and I cannot go without air conditioning. This repair needs to be done. I am a long time customer of choice home warranty and I’m also in the real estate business. Is this how you treat your customers? If so, I will not be referring you.

I booked a repair for TV issue and they sent an electrician to check the switch despite me telling them that the issue was with TV. Later they informed me that TV repair is not covered under contract and I have to pay the rent electrician visit charges as they don’t read all comments from customers and it’s my responsibility. Had a very impolite and disrespectful conversation with the agent on this.

We're already second round on the one item. They didn't fix what they approved. Because they can't fix it right away, they're going to do multiple trips. They don't work your tickets, but they stalk you to get you to re-enlist for the new year. They've been calling me multiple times a week for the past three months. And they won't stop, but they also won't respond on my claim. Every time I pick up and it's them, I ask them to put me on the do not call list and they will not. It's super aggressive and a complete turn off.

The electrician looks great. No complaints, but the company's service is not very up to par. They give you a little bit of money but they don't give you enough to cover the full cost. Then they charge you for things like the box to put it in. You know, if they're going to fix something, then they need to fix it. They shouldn't nickel and dime you.

I am not happy with choice warranty. Very slow to respond to messages sent via e-mail or phone. Took 3 days to respond to a request for service of heating/air conditioning system issue. Got a response that they were trying to locate a repair service. Ended up calling a company to come out. Their man called 4 days later. Choice Home Warranty has very poor communication skills. Now looking for a warranty service with a better track record.

Extremely POOR customer service. We have been trying to get our fridge fixed - since July! It is now mid-October and we are no where close to getting it fixed. And at the last (total waste of time) service appointment, the technician said that we would have to pay for the parts (which weren’t even available). WHAT?!? I thought that’s why we had a warranty company. This situation is ridiculous and unacceptable. So ready to discontinue our plan with this company. They take your money but when you need their services they are worthless.

I need a new water heater and it cost me $75 for a guy to come look at it and then they wanted $1000 to replace it. So I couldn't understand what a warranty means. So I canceled my warranty. Not happy with their handling of a/c repairs…during the hottest summer days with a failing a/c, they insisted on requesting more and more evidence of faulty parts while our family was suffering with the heat. I finally asked the repairman for a new system, so that we could avoid further issues. They do not consider the customer’s overall health nor the possible effects of their irresponsibility. They want to avoid large expenses. In the meantime, the customer suffers!!!!!

It took weeks to get the repair scheduled on our swamp cooler-fortunately we were still able to use it during that time since we were having record high temperatures. Once scheduled, the repair person, Cody, was very friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and professional and took care of the problem for us.
