I used them a few years ago and I just stopped using all of the companies because for whatever reason, when I went back to them they've changed. There was a guy that came here to fix the dishwasher. He says he left and said still leaks and that was it. Didn't say what they were going to do, when they were coming back, are they ordering parts, nothing. So I had to keep calling them for three days. I'm not happy with that. They didn't keep in touch with me about what was going on. I had to keep calling them and they was given the runaround and the wrong phone numbers and everything.

I would not get it again. My pool pump developed a leak. I called Choice, they said they didn't have a technician and they called around for three weeks. My pool technician, who cleans the pool, said if I don't get the pool pump fixed, he was no longer going to service. So I contacted another company and they came immediately out. This is now five or six weeks into the problem. They came out, fixed it. And Choice did not want to reimburse me because I did not go through them first. But I had no option because the pool cleaning company was no longer going to service my house if I didn't get the pump fixed. It was not handled in a timely manner or financial manner.

They increase the price every every time we get to the end of the contract. I put in a service order on December 29th. They didn't get anybody dispatched till mid January. Then those people came and were not sure what to do, never came back. We didn't hear anything back. It took four months to finally get somebody out here to fix the ice maker on the fridge. They just seem to have a problem finding anybody to do it. So a lot of miscommunication. I called a couple of times because I wanted to cancel and my wait time was ridiculous.

My dishwasher grinder was not working. So I had to use the Choice and they sent a representative and he came down within 48 hours and he was able to fix it within like 5 to 10 minutes. They sent in a professional guy. I paid the deductible and that's all.

It's extremely difficult for them to find and dispatch different types of contractors. My experience has been to wait for an inordinately long period of time. Three out of four times so far I've had to find my own contractor and not take advantage of this warranty that I'm paying for. Some of the wait times were long enough that I just did it on my own.

It's one of the best warranties. The process was fine. There was an appointment, the guy came out and he fixed it. Sometimes they have to come back to bring some parts 3, 4, 5 days sometime a week they come back and they fix it.

this is horrible timing to receive this review. i filed a plumbing claim on 6/1 i believe and the plumber came out 6/12 collected $65 and took pictures.. the plumber is supposed to send the details to CHW for approval, yet CHW says they're waiting on the plumber and asking me to reach out to the plumber. I've followed up repeatedly with CHW yet nothing is changing and I fefuse to do CHW's job for them.

We are a bit dissapointed with choice at the time, they have not lived up to what they advertised on line in thier website lately. We have had to come out of pocket to repair items that are to be cover by their policy, we pay our bill on time all the time and we expect for them to live up to what they advertise. We have had our policy with them for a while and it waas pretty good for a while but not lately and we are considering to start looking for a new home warranty company.

You contact CHW with your problem and the select a vendor. Right now I need a new light fixture in my pantry. It is a motion activated fixture. I told the company the problem before they scheduled the appointment. It took a week or two for them to come. Worker arrived and said they would need a new fixture and rescheduled another appointment. They scheduled another week or 10 days and didn't show. I called and they didn't have the light fixture then they had to reschedule again. The day before they were scheduled to come they called and told me the guy that was scheduled to be here today was sick and they again rescheduled again. I could have gone to Home Depot and bought the fixture and installed it myself. I already paid the $65 so I am without a light in my pantry for almost a month. I t seems every claim to CHW takes at least 2 trips. I have 10 locations with warranties. No excuse for this delay.

We did get the job done, but I had to find a plumber because CHW didn't have one in all of Abilene to do the job. It was an easy fix, which leads me to wonder if CHW shouldn't have an expert on the phone to ask people, "Can you try XY&Z?" This might alleviate a plumber, electrician, etc. coming out all together and save both parties money. If someone had informed me that there is an Allen wrench slot at the bottom of the disposal, which would allow me to try and un-sieze it, I would have tried it and possibly fixed it.

I had to have a motor replaced on my furnace last year and they came out really quick and they did what they need to do. They always answer my questions and everything. You have to go through so much paperwork if you don't wait for them to find you somebody to come out.

Well my central air unit went out they said that it wasn't covered in my plan but my plan says wear and tare on the unit we had leaks in my unit from wear and tare, but they didn't fix it. So I'm thinking about canceling my policy and look for someone to fix things that break or aren't working that's the reason for getting home warranty so you don't have to fix it. I'm disability and I'm on a very tight budget so they reason for getting a home warranty was to help me out so far I'm very very unhappy.

So far I have had 2 claims on my CHW warranty and I can honestly say through both experiences that Choice not only botched the entire experience from communication and scheduling onward BUT then they EXTREMELY under covered my equipment. The reps talk down to you and assert their power over the outcome and you can tell are ready for an argument or disagreement. I have only spoken with 1 rep that truly treated me with dignity and consideration of my situation. I will NOT be recommending to anyone to put their trust in CHW. To be specific and give an example, I had to buy a whole new garage door opener because the process for approval and acquiring parts and scheduling was going to take six weeks or I had to pay for an “upgrade” so that I could have a working garage door opener sooner. I am both disabled and handicapped, and did not have much choice for my health and safety to wait six weeks. Every time I have to file a claim with Choice, I feel taken advantage of and disappointed. On my first claim my combination, microwave and convection oven the microwave part quit working. Once the tech came out, and after contacting the manufacturer to confirm, we found out two things, one the unit is all in one and two due to the age parts are no longer available. First the Choice rep demanded insisted that the maximum was $400 the absolute cheapest appliance I could find was around $3000 to replace it. After a couple of weeks and back-and-forth with the manufacturer and choice, they maxed out my claim at $667. I was told to be thankful and grateful by Choice. When the policy was purchased, it was explained, and stated in writing , that if a part cannot be repaired they replace the equipment if the tech recommends it. This is simply untrue and absolutely misleading. Also, rather than replace my appliance, they told me they would send me a Lowe’s gift card so I could supplement and replace my appliance on my own. They said they use this method to expedite the purchase process so we do not have to wait any longer than necessary. a week later, when I inquired where the gift card was, I was informed it takes 4 to 6 weeks to arrive by email. I don’t understand how that qualifies as expedite. I gave one star because the two technicians I have encountered, were both professional and courteous, and I gave the second star because choice did pay something. Oh, in both instances choice told me that the tech would arrive within 48 hours. This was stated in email. After the tech did not show in both cases, I contacted them only to find out choice sent the schedule and the service provider did not agree, or approve the schedule promised. Both choice and the service providers said this is a common occurrence. My wasted time and readjusting of my schedule mattered none to Choice Home Warranty. The reps that I spoke with said there’s nothing we can do. Do you want the new appointment time or not? I have seen several places that they are highly rated. I absolutely cannot understand or fathom how those are real or true ratings.

I liked the amount of coverage I received and the amount of time it took to resolve the issue. Star Mechanical was willing to work with my work schedule which I appreciated. I did not like having to pay a second service fee because you, Choice Home Warranty, canceled the service with the first company you sent out for the call.

There always seems to be an issue with what Choice Home Warranty sends us as to who and when someone is coming and if that service company has our information. Has happened a couple of times where we have called to change appt days and times (even though we told CHW we are unavailable during that time frame) and the service company has no information or knowledge of our service order. Very disappointed in that aspect of this process.

I have had two interactions with Choice and both were TERRIBLE. I would not recommend Choice to any friend. In one case it took more than 10 days to get a tech assigned to our problem and that came about because I filed with BBB. In the other case they claimed that a washing machine was damaged by me, internally, which was nonsense since I would have had to take the machine apart and bust a small plastic pipe. This is after the machine had been working for months. I had no recourse and got no compensation. I tried to have a second review of the problem and they said no. The techs I talk to do not want to deal with Choice in any way. You have been warned.

Customer service repeats the same verbage over and over From a printed script . Clarifies nothing, nothing gets accomplished. Sent plumber plumber who was not licensed . Gave $75 cash , service call. Requested receipt, no receipt given...at end of job I had to pày $500 check for retrofit (didn'tdeduct$75 cash, HE said would be deducted= $475 ) requested retrofitting receipt, he said he would email me..never did.

Since 8/20 I have had 18 calls for service-7 on my refrigerator-5 of these calls because it quit working. The other 2 for noise. Choice has replaced 5 compressors, 2 condensers, an ice maker plus numerous other parts since 3/21. They keep replacing the same parts, with the same results-a refrigerator that stops working 5 to 10 mouths after it is fixed. Each time it is fixed, we are without a refrigerator/freezer 3 to 4 weeks-because parts need to be ordered and the serve technician needs to be rescheduled. Choice refuses to replace the unit, even though the last two service technicians have recommended replacement. (7/23 and 2/23 ) I could have bought 2 new units for the money they have wasted on repair. The current call was made on 7/23 and it is scheduled to be fixed on 8/18.

I am truly disappointed with the overall experience that I've had. I have had a few claims and there have been many hurdles along the way and little communication that would make the whole process go smoother. I have had a couple of claims handled, but I am currently going round and round over what I thought would be an easy one with a broken microwave. Nope, CHW seems to think my part is available but upon speaking with the Sears technician, that's not the case. I'm still waiting to get a resolution and several phone calls to both parties have led to no answers. Meanwhile, I've been without a microwave for a month now. That's enough. Thanks.

My ceiling fan was replaced with a lot cheaper version that doesn’t hang even on ceiling and makes grrrrr sound ever so often. I feel bad as they are getting veterans like myself to join not telling that you get cheaper replacements. My washer was handled good but the ceiling fan is horrible and they pass you to different people and no one will fix it until it falls off ceiling.

Impossible to contact a human to discuss any concerns. They do reply via email, but most replies are not on target of the subject, and the english grammer basically sucks. They do not perform well at managing claims. So far they take too long to provide service or are not able to provide the service and either cancel my claim or put the responsibility to locate a provider on me. This is terrible service. I purchased this warranty expecting much better quality service.

I've had 4 claims in that time. 2 were minor and worked out fine, the other 2 have been difficult and I am in the midst of A3 month long ordeal. Your response is fast however the area I live in must be difficult to locate service providers. I pay what I think is a lot of money for your warranty service only to be offered to find someone myself, take photos, copy receipts then submit for approval. That’s why I pay Choice. Then you (Choice) haggle with the contractor over their price for service. Maybe if your only concern wasn’t to shortchange the contractors and clients your business would flourish!

The claim was easy to file and I got a very quick response. Within a few days a technician came to house to address our Sharp drawer microwave which was not working. Upon his evaluation, he determined that the control panel was dead and that the manufacturer no longer made or repaired the item. Hence it would require a complete replacement. Conveniently I was able to follow the developments at Choice's website After being very efficient, this is where things went very bad. After a few days I received an offer of $191 to cover the cost of a replacement which is $1400!!! When I rejected that I was assigned a case worker and spoke with her. That was a complete waste of time. She said $191 was the amount and no amount of common sense on my part made any difference. Basically she said "take it or leave it". So I under this so called "warranty" program, I receive $191 to replace an item that cost me $1400!!!!!!

I'm legally blind and sometimes it's a little bit of a hassle to file a claim. When my dishwasher died someone came in, he looked at it, he did what he could and it still wasn't working. So they said they were going to replace it and they said okay, we'll give you the price of what we can get the unit for. Which meant for a $500 dishwasher, they gave me $129.

I use my warranty for my furnace all the time because it breaks all the time and no one's saying that I need a new one and it's over 20 years old. So until they do, I can't get a new one. I've had probably 20 people come for the furnace in about 3 years. I had a complaint about a certain person coming to fix something. They still send the same guy back.

It's not horrible, but it's not the best either. I think it can definitely improve. I called for my my hot tub recently and they didn't cover the hot tub. Meanwhile I purchased the extra coverage for that. I called this last week for my air ducts. I had a leak in my air ducts and the technician came and he found that the damper motor was hanging and they rejected that claim. You should be compensated for something that you're paying for.
