The first claim took a lot longer to get it permanently fixed. I took almost four weeks to get it permanently fix. Plumber came out the first time and only temporarily fixed it. The other claims went well with a local plumbing company came out quick.

I was pleasantly surprised that my check came within 2 weeks. I needed help to put the claim in after the repair guy left. Thankfully our daughter works with warranty companies at her work, and was able to do it within minutes. It took me hours of frustration before giving up. Being able to call a human would have been very helpful.

I called for electrical help and plumbing help. Electrical was great. Plumbing however has not been helpful at all. The first company kept canceling me. So I canceled them. I rescheduled, unfortunately, I came down with Covid. I called again after a couple of weeks. I received a message last week that it had been scheduled. However, I was going to be out of town on the date. I called Northside plumbing to get another date and I wasn't even on their schedule. They had never heard of me or the job. I had 3 faucets to change (leaking). After the first company couldn't make time for my job I decided to change them (2) myself. I guess I'll change the 3rd one as well.

We used choice for a broken microwave. He came and repaired it and I gave him a check. Several weeks later I get a notice from choice to pay the 65.00. I wrote back stating I paid it. Again a week later I received another letter (email) asking for payment! I replied with check amount and check number. Again I got another email! I was not a happy camper and called. The lady said she would get in touch with the man who fixed it. He said yes it was paid. So the lady called me back and said not to worry about it!

Choice Home Warranty was responsive to our communication but the technician they assigned to us was totally disinterested and never responded to any calls. Taken over a month to get some sort of resolution on repairing a microwave (which is now being replaced after technician never bothered to return to properly finish the repair job). Even then the replacement value offered by them is less than the cost of the cheapest possible microwave.

We had a refrigerator problem and they were very prompt. They sent out a technician, but he never got back with us. After a week I called Choice back and they contacted him and said that he would call us. He never did. It took two weeks. Choice finally has got us another technician coming out, but it's going to be over a week before they can get here and that's gonna make over three weeks we've been without a refrigerator. The customer support has been great, but they just haven't been able to get anyone out here and tell us what to do about our refrigerator.

It's difficult to get things done in a timely manner with qualified, skilled people to do the work. I've tried to use it three times. The first I was using it was to have them come check on an electrical issue that I was having and I signed up for an appointment and both times, this person never showed up or called me to tell me they weren't coming.

Called for service on an oven. Received a text stating that no technician was available through Choice Home Warranty. Text advised that I locate someone on my own and submit a claim. I did locate a local repair technician and scheduled them for $135 fee. The oven was deemed unrepairable due to age and parts were no longer available or rebuildable (obsolete control board) 10 days later a Choise Home Warranty technician called to schedule a repair. I told him that as Choice suggested i got a repair company and ultimately the oven had now been replaced. $385 install fed plus the cost of a new double oven.. $5900 .(2 days before Thanksgiving) He stated that he woukd need to verify the oven was not repairable...for another $100 fee. But the old oven is now gone. So, now what? Choice has gone silent and im out over $6,000 . (But the new oven did cook a fantastic turkey)

Small breakdowns work out fine. Big ones are bad news. You will NOT get a replacement as advertised, read the small print. Secondly you are giving a gift card for Lowes which will arrive about a month after the breakdown and the price will cover less than half of the cost. Have a refrigerator go bad, you are in for a shock. A gift card will arrive in about 3 weeks or more. See one on sale at another store, too bad! How does one get along without a refrigerator for a month? How about a dish washer, wash dishes by hand for a month waiting for the gift card and when it comes it will cover less than half of the cost. If it's repairable you are in luck, it will be repaired quickly. I will not be renewing.

I didn’t like that we had no hot water for 2 1/2 weeks. The first technician you sent out said we needed a new water heater, but apparently that was not satisfactory. You had to send another out a week later to confirm the first report and then it was another week before the new water heater was installed. I thought this item was covered when I bought your warranty plan, but it actually cost me a total of $365. That was not what I expected when I bought this warranty that was supposed to cover this item.

I am really not satisfied with the way a vendor is booked. It took 3 different companies to finally get someone to my house to replace a fan and 2 or 3 different companies to finally make it to my house to put in a garbage disposal. FINALLY a company by the name of HOUSE REPAIRS AND MUCH MORE ran by a man named James Y has come to my rescue. From now on if I need work I will always request him because I'm tired of other companies not being willing to drive from Amarillo to Morse Texas to do work. And all of the others have complained to me that the reason is that your company is hard to get paid by and that your company will cancel them and give the job to someone else. I will not be choosing Choice Warranty again after my contract runs out. Thank you for trying but you need to get vendors who are willing to travel a bit.

When I've called to set up having them come out and look at an appliance or something, they answered the phones right away. They were very courteous and they seem to know what they're doing. I'd prefer if they could get back sooner about the results after a service person has come back out to look at the appliances. Usually I wait about 12 days.

They make things difficult..redundant...and it takes to long to get shit done.. If there is an issue with the repair..instead of having an option to reopen an existing repair to make the repair individual come back and fix it properly..they make you open a new claim, for the same thing as the last claim..starting the whole process over again..even charging you the initial fee...happened 3 times to me...looking to move on to another company

Some of the people CHW uses aren't very professional. One was simply outright disrespectful. I would prefer not to have any of my plumbing issues serviced by the company CHW sent to my home. I rated customer service only one star because I no longer get to talk to a real live person. Don't get me wrong though, the process from start to finish was fast and easy. This is good coverage for a good price. The only hesitation I have in giving five stars is in the turnaround time to schedule repairs; sometimes it has been a week or more! When you have water leaking or a toilet running non-stop for that long, it isn’t an acceptable wait.

We have made 2 claims on our pool, which went without being assigned. Therefore we found a local pool company who did help. We purchased a $400.00 Pat, which fixed. Problem, but CHW refused to reimburse us. Since that time we made 2 other claims, which have been assigned and went well.
