Having a back-up for system breakdowns is a budget saver. I don't like the price, especially having to pay another $75 to $100 to get the service. I think that's a bit excessive, but it is cheaper than the alternative.

Easy to file a claim. The time it took to get someone here was not good. The lack of availability of repair people is an issue. My floors are ruined because no repair could be done for several days. Now that not covered.

We have had several experiences with Choice Home Warranty. In each case, the waiting period for repair was 5 days to 2 weeks. Sears extended this last repair by six days without contacting us first. That left us without the use of a stove for almost 2 weeks. Need faster reaction from scheduling and repair persons.

First part went fine then I asked for more than offered and no one would return my calls. Finally last Friday I spoke to a lady who said she would call be back on Monday no call so I called Tuesday and was told if they didn’t call you back that meant you were not getting any more. So I guess what they were trying to do worked. I excepted the offer and they said I would get Lowe’s gift card in30 days. Now I’m being forced to buy at Lowe’s and waiting 30 days for it. Now I’m without a washer for 30 days, you tell me is that a good insurance policy would you pay top dollars for this. And would you recommend that to a friend if you did you would not have many friends.

My tenant has not had hot water for almost a week. Every time we called for service, it was schedule 3 days out. A repair person came on Thursday and on by Friday the water heater didn't work again. The new appointment was made for Monday. The service company was unable to come Saturday and Sunday they are closed. I called Choice today to see if someone else can come today (Sunday). I was told that I'd get a call back either way within the hour if someone can come. It's been two hours and no one called back. I called Choice again just and the message I'm getting is that the customer service dept is now closed. It is 3:30 pm. How do you call this 24/day service and is this how quickly a water heater is repaired? My tenant doesn't want to pay the rent since it is not reasonable to be with no hot water and not be able to shower for so many days.

Choice Home Warranty does NOT replace and pay the cost to replace the defective item whatsoever. You guys will replace the item if it is deemed defective and not repairable. But you will not pay the true cost to the technician to install the defective item. I’ve had two Hot Water Heaters replaced and they the replaced with nearly the exact size and model number of the original one and there has ALWAYS been a cost to me to install the new water heater when the new one was LITERALLY swap and install. THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE TO ANY OF THE INSTALLATION FOR THE NEW ONE. However, there was always some wort of COST TO ME to install the new one when the replacement was literally Plug & Play. THAT’S POOR BUSINESS TACTICS. And because of this shady business practice I will NOT be extending my home warranty after the initial period is expired. Horrible business practice and that’s EXACTLY WHY Choice Home Warranty has a BAD name in the Home Warranty business.

It takes too long to get a hold of someone. You always want us to go to the website, you claim for faster service, BS. You guys don't know what the meaning of the word is. This is the 2nd time I had to call you for service it took TOO long also. This time I contacted you on 1-4-22, put a claim in the same day, nothing, 1-5-22, nothing, 1-6-22, nothing, on the 1-7-22 an appliance tech said he was on his way out, by now we eliminated the appliance problem because the appliance still works by plugging it into another outlet, He claimed he would tell dispatch that another tech was needed as he didn't do electrical problems. I went online and phone to discover I had to make another claim, so I did. Then they had an electrician set up but he didn't take credit cards, they didn't believe me so they/you had to call them. Then you claimed another electrician was set up for 1-11-22. I tried to contact the electrician to see if he could come out any sooner because my tenant had already been waiting for over a week. He said he tried but was unable to. He did call me and got out there on 1-11-22 and fixed the problem This takes way TOO long to get anything done, very very disappointed. This was bad for me and my tenant.

The company is a scam. My parents pay $70 a month premium and now it's $85 for service call. I had to call them out for their air conditioner unit, and septic last year and they covered ZERO for the air conditioner ( of course in smal print ) and also septic ( which they covered $300 of a $1500 bill ) AFTER paying their service call fee. I just had to call for a repair that was done last year and they are now saying it isn't covered. So my elderly dad on a fixed income paid another $85 for nothing and now we have to contract an outside plumging company to pay another $200 for repair. You waste more money on the service call and montly charge than you would for a lot of repairs.

CHOICE HOME WARRANTY SHOULD NOT BE YOUR CHOICE ! 1. I had Refrigerator display not working along with water dispenser. We paid technician for service call and still we are receiving invoice for the same thing. Even after multiple attempts there is no one on call to help. 2. Water heater stopped working. Technician came next day and left in 5 mins without fixing issue and still charged us for service call. CHOICE assigned same issue to different technician and we got charged again for service call. ITS BEEN 20 Days and still we are sitting with no HOT WATER. I subscribed for this service so I don't have to spend time and effort finding someone. But service with CHOICE is demanding even more Time and Effort to get your stuff fixed.

It took over 10 days from when I reported the issue to when the claim was denied. This is 10 days without heat in my house. First they couldn't find a tech in my area, then they didn't schedule the appointment correctly. Next, when the tech did come out a week after the issue started, Choice home warranty lost the diagnosis that was entered into their system. Choice's customer service reps are rude and entirely unemphatic to my situation and were not helpful in the least. I do not believe I will be renewing with your company, not because the claim was denied, but with the way you handled the whole process.

My experience was not great. Choice is pushy. 5 people called me within a matter of 10mins. This is not excellent customer service this is harassment. I ordered the policy and cancelled it the same day because I listed to the gentleman from Choice speak to someone in Hebrew while on the phone with me and refer to his callers/customers as RETARDS. How derogatory is that? They drafted my money immediately, I have 30 days to cancel a new policy, I cancelled within 20 mins after repeatedly being disconnected (they harassed me to purchase the policy but I could not get and keep anyone on the line who could cancel the policy. As I look over the cancellation document it states - no refund due to me - what the hell? They better refund my 20 mins I paid for that did not go in effect for a full 30 days after purchasing. I was not impressed or pleased. Good luck if you utilize Choice. They may not even post this review!

I have been without reliable heat for nearly 2 months and CHW has yet to fix the problem. I have been assigned 3 separate repair companies they cannot fix the problem then are unable to get in contact with. CHW keeps denying to let me hire a reputable HVAC and reimburse me, instead just telling me to wait and theyll assign a new company to it. One of the companies finally tried replacing a component but it didnt fix the problem and I CHW has done nothing else to try and get the heat working.

Very disappointed in services so far. Filed a claim for my washing machine. Repairman came to look at it and determined it would probably need replaced. Received email later that day from Choice Hone Warranty congratulating me on the fact that they would replace my washer for $349.00!!!! Are you kidding me??? My washer is a Maytag so to go buy another Maytag it sure isn’t going to be just $349.00. And icing on the cake…it will be a Lowe’s e-card and will take 30 days!! LOL so I just sit around and wait with no washer for 30 days??? Not a good experience for my first claim with Choice. Not sure if I will be keeping this service or not.

Choice did not repair my heating/ac unit. A technician found the blower motor was bad and Choice refused to replace the motor because they said that something else caused the motor to go bad. I had three different companies check the blower motor and they stated that it was not true. The motor was going bad due to normal wear and tear. I talked to a representative to appeal the decision not to replace the blower motor and she would not change the decision. I sent several emails to their corporate office and no response. I read several reviews and it appears that Choice find ways to avoid paying for big ticket repairs. The main reason customers use a Warranty Company is to feel comfortable with them paying for big ticket repairs. I don't recommend using Choice.

My refrigerator went out on Dec 8 2021. Choice decided to replace it. The problem is my refrigerator cost me 3200.00 and they are only offering me 1200.00 to replace it because they say that is the wholesale value. Well if they can buy it for that then please delivered to my house. It is now Jan 5th 2022 and still don't have a working refrigerator or the voucher for the 120.00 that is only good at Lowes. I called and they said it could be another 30 days before I receive the voucher. 2 months with out a refrigerator good god. Had to spend 250.00 to get a compact refrigerator to keep thing cold. Will not be renewing by contract. this warranty cost me more than I paid for it between the 800.00 that I have to put in to buy a new refrigerator and the compact one that I already had to buy. PLEASE BE WARE DO NOT PURCHASE

I already rated Choice Home, but due to my error of placing my number on the review, it was held up. I will provide the condensed review which I had saved of how disappointed and aggravated I am with this company. Height of the heat season and one AC goes out, I wait a week for Choice Home Warranty to do their job, just to find out the person they guilted into doing the work told them he no longer worked on ACs. So, then another week after I complained about it and was told it was being "expedited", just another lie. Finally, week two, AC person shows up, and while fixing one AC, the other AC failed. Do they allow them to fix it? Nope, the number must go into the "portal", so off the AC workers I had waiting two weeks to be at my house, just drive away. Now there is no AC for upstairs, where all the bedrooms are, by the way, the temperatures were 108 to 113. Yet another week, waiting for the work order to go into the "portal". Absolutely, positively disgusted with the customer service personnel, except for the last person I spoke with, he cared about the situation. If I could leave it at no stars, I would. I would eagerly accept a phone call from a member from management or above from Choice Home Warranty to call me and talk to me about my experience, my number is on file with my account. With regard to the quality of the personnel coming out to fix the utilities, they were excellent, the low stars are for Choice Home Warranty, a paid appliance warranty service provider. Appliance warranty is worth the expense when you have a company that is willing to provide expedited service. In comparison to vehicle insurance, you are immediately provided options to take your vehicle for repairs, the ability to select your own provider for repairs, pay your deductible and all necessary repairs are completed to make you warrantied item like new or you get a reasonable pay out if it is not fixable. Choice Home Warranty fails across the board. Minimum one week wait to get service calls, service provider is not selected by me, the payer of the warranty. If an item cannot be fixed, the attempt for "similar" replacement is a joke. I had four call outs for my dishwasher, 65.00 every time, called out for the same reason each time, same repair person each time. Finally, they said it was not repairable. So, I have paid my monthly or annual charge, and just the four service calls for a total of $140.00, and was offered $120.00 for a new dishwasher, pathetic. Then it turned into a "pawn shop" type of bargaining, I give a number, they give a lesser amount, I come down from mine, they go up little on theirs. joke. I ended up paying an additional $200.00 on top of the service calls and the $150.00 they finally offered to give to get a dishwasher with similar features, not more than what I had, just similar. And because the calls were for a leak, and it was re-occurring the wood damage to my cabinets was another $600.00 out of pocket for replace/repairs of the custom-made cabinets.

I switched to them from old republic because they advertised as better coverage and lower trade call fees. I even paid a few years in advance because of the way they marketed with pricing. Well 7 months later, my air conditioner went out. The company that was sent out told me that it was something caused by normal wear and tear since my unit was about 28 years old but they decided that it was my fault and would not cover anything. I would have to pay for a whole new unit on my own. I called them to cancel my account and get my money back for the other years I had paid in advance because when I was with Old Republic, they actually covered my upstairs unit when it went out among other things. Choice decided to try to sell me on a point saying “okay. We’ll help you with $100 and let you keep your account”. I told them that I would get more money by getting my annual premiums back. They kept going back and forth and when I wouldn’t budge because they weren’t actually helping me, the guy on the phone started to get angry and said “okay fine. We’ll send your money back in a check” and basically hung up on me.

Of the 3 claims that I had, only 1 was covered. Recently my washer (8 years old) was leaking. I submitted a claim and the tech assessed that there was a crack in the drum. When he spoke with Choice Home Warranty he made it clear that NOTHING could have caused this crack because of the location and that it was from wear and tear - this was covered in my contract. He repeated this multiple times. I received an email 2 hours later that they denied the claim and that it was due to misue. No one called me to ask me direct questions or no one from the warranty company came to assess themselves. I am cancelling and will NOT recommend this to anyone.

Make sure you read this before you sign up with Choice Home Warranty! If you expect replacement for your appliance... run away from this company! For me, the issue was my microwave. THE POLICY STATES: "BUILT-IN MICROWAVE - COVERED: All components and parts." "We have the sole right to determine whether a covered system or appliance will be repaired or replaced. We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity, and efficiency, but not for matching dimensions, brand or color. We reserve the right to offer cash back in lieu of repair or replacement in the amount of Our actual cost (which at times may be less than retail) to repair or replace any covered system, component or appliance." LAW SUIT AGAINST CHOICE "And in 2019, the Arizona Attorney General's Office filed a consumer fraud lawsuit against Choice Home Warranty, claiming the company "... provided a 'service contract' riddled with exclusions, denied claims for spurious reasons and paid consumers a fraction of the cost of repair or replacement, if anything."Jul 14, 2021." They refused to replace my microwave that had an original cost of $619 but offered me a + or -$150 gift card at Lowes then bumped it up after many arguments to a $249 check. We were told that they did not pay for installation of a new microwave no matter what! Here is their email to us! "Great News! We have received the diagnosis on your claim. We have determined, the best long-term solution is to replace your Microwave. In lieu of replacement, we are offering you funds in the form of Lowe's eGift Cards based on your current system's features and capacity, to select the system of your choice." Please click the link below to start the process of replacing your Microwave. I cannot show you the actual original offer because we accepted the $249 settlement to be applied as a deposit for our Best Buy purchase of a new unit. The part will be in the technician's hand in 3-5 days, but I have to wait 4 weeks before he can return to fix it. That is ridiculous, in my opinion. I am very frustrated and dissatisfied. I scheduled an original appointment to address plumbing issues. An appointment was scheduled in a timely manner and a second appointment was set for a few days later. Unfortunately, no one came or called. When I followed up with Choice Warranty, they said they couldn't get in touch with anyone from the company that came out. I was told by Supervisor Destiny that a complaint would be filed( I experienced this with thus company previously). I was told the would schedule me with another company. After several days past, I was rescheduled with the same company. I reached back out to Supervisor Destiny (who told me ti follow up with her if I had any further problems) ti see if they resolved the issue with Truflo Plumbing, I left a voicemail message for her. On rhe day of the appointment, another no show, no call. When I reached back out to Supervisor Destiny, it was not a very pleasant conversation. I requested to speak with her Supervisor and I was initially told there is no one over her. After asking her to confirm this, because I would be file a complaint, I was told she could send a message to her manager and see if they would respond. I have paid in full for a 3 year warrenty.....if thus us the kind if service I can look forward to, I will be requesting a refund!!! I need someone in charge to contact me to resolve this issue!

They are not bad,.. they will send person out for repair, but they will never replace your faulty item. Have like 8-10 yr old Samsung dyer that broke 7+ times in 2 year period. Had to pay $60 per visit . and fix never last more than 3 months. A few fixes only lasted 1 day. They still will not replace, so have to pay $60 every time fix lasts longer than 30 days. After7+ fixes I'm feed up with repairs.

Right now I do not feel I can give a rating because the sales man told me if I paid a special price I would be covered for ever at $450.00 per house for 2 houses making a total of $900.00 per year for both houses for ever. I paid for 3 years making both houses covered until July, 2025. There is nothing in writing in the contract that states this. I was told I would have it in writing. As of now there is no statement that $450.00 per the two houses would be a per year for ever. I feel I need to canceling this contract unless I get a guarantee in writing that both houses are covered for $450.00 each per year, for ever.

One star is far too many! Do yourself a favor, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Total and complete rip off unless you believe replacing your current appliances at 60% of cost out of pocket is a good investment! Short story: $495 warranty + $75 tech visit - $240 Lowes credit + $650 replacement microwave = $980 out of pocket while under warranty on a microwave that is less than three years old. Long story: When we tried to file a claim on our microwave (new construction home) only to be told it would be days before someone came out and there would be a $75 fee. When the tech came out we were told someone would contact us in a few more days about our options. Choice Home Warranty notified us that they would not repair or replace the $650 unit, but would give us a whopping $240 gift card to Lowes. That is AFTER we escalated things, which required us to wait a week for a teleconference... The silver lining is that we had a relatively minor claim, I cannot imagine what kind of train wreck it would have been if we dared to have a major claim.

My claim was for HVAC unit was denied because the compressor in the unit was not the original part. My issue is, the compressor was replaced by the previous owner. I do not understand the denial. How was I to know the compressor was not the original part? The unit worked well when I purchased my home and after I purchased the Choice warranty. What the previous owners did to the unit should not have determined Choice's denial of my claim. I guess that is why they are called Choice; they can choose to accept or deny claims, and in my case, it was their "choice" to deny. I do not understand Choice's logic. Now I sit in a cold home; however, I do have an electronic heater, waiting to speak with someone to hear my appeal. That person is not available to speak with me until January 4, 2022. Currently,, my experience with Choice has not been pleasant, and I am sincerely frustrated, cold, and disappointed in their service and responsiveness towards me my hone issue.

On the last claim for a failed pressure regulator on my plumbing system you declined to approve repair. I’ve not received any explanation as to why when it is clearly covered under my contract. The plumbing company tech you sent indicated you questioned their pricing, although those values had been negotiated between Choice and his firm previously. The long term damage that high water pressure can cause to my home is a serious concern. I’m now questioning the intent of Choice to live up to my contract with them. Should I consider a legal review of my agreement??

Our last experience was a little disappointing because the appliance had to be replaced and their compensation wasn’t enough. It wasn’t even half the cost. It was for the AC and the unit they sent didn’t work and I paid the difference to get another one.

CHW denied my claim to have my refrigerator repaired. Their contract says they'll cover anything purchased with a home so long as it works when the contract is purchased. My refrigerator broke a little over 37 days into the contract. For my refrigerator they said the device is covered under manufacturer warranty, fine, I called the manufacturer, this device is not covered. CHW says "it should be covered and that means someone was already paid for repairs, they're not obligated to pay for more repairs, their technician determined it didn't work so it's a manufacturer defect they don't have to pay, THE PREVIOUS OWNER SHOULD HAVE DONE THE RIGHT THING AND BOUGHT ME A NEW FRIDGE." They deny it on the same canned response, do not return my voice mails, miss appointments, will not put their actual excuses in writing, and then have the nerve to tell me that someone else SHOULD have paid for the fridge so I'll have to repair/replace it myself. I have begun the arbitration process, but I'm sure they have some way to get out of that too. Meanwhile my family has been going to the store every day to get fresh food we cannot store. They quote exceptions in their contract, basically we'll cover everything, except in all cases where our technician determines we don't have to. They don't stand by their end of the contract, otherwise they wouldn't have forgotten about the 1st three clauses. Maybe they'll pay you out a small pittance of the cost? We will see what I get but not holding my breath, definitely not interested in renewing.

Takes too long to actually fix my refrigerator. First trip diagnosed the problem and order part. Second trip 10 days later to install the part. (Tech said they shipped wrong part but I lucked out as he had a part on his truck that worked).

I not very happy with the way my claim is being handled. The technician was very polite about my claim, he said that choice had ordered the wrong hot water tank and he would try to get ahold of choice to get the right tank, this after waiting 2 weeks to replace my hot water tank. This was Thursday and still haven't heard if they will back Saturday. This after Choice said I had to pay an additional $450 ever tho the policy said it covered the tank and parts. Choice said the contractor was charging this. As of right now I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty.

This company is a TOTAL SCAM. They are happy to sell you a promise-filled policy, but then fraudulently create false documentation as to the reason for your home system's failure so that CHW can simply say "claim denied, case closed". The customer service department at CHW is a joke. If and when you actually do get through to someone, you are continually passed from one person to another with no one doing anything helpful or constructive in the resolution of the issue. A quick online search for complaints against CHW are easily found. Don't just take my word, read up on this company for yourself. SAVE YOUR MONEY. WALK AWAY NOW!!
