I'm giving 2 stars ...customer service is so important and reflects on the company a great deal. I waited 3 weeks for any response to my numerous phone calls, voicemails and emails and this was for the claims manager?!? She finally did get back to me to explain that they do not cover installation and per warranty documents, do not offer full replacement value, only a portion of it. I guess I'm grateful for half of the cost to replace the appliance. It's either a tank of gas or the other half of the appliance. What is this world coming to??

My dishwasher quit working properly. Choice warranty offered me $246.00 for replacement. I paid the $85.00 fee for the technician which means I would receive $161.00 for a replacement....really? Where can I buy a dishwasher for that price? Lowe's prices for the same brand begin at $386.00 (which I did not have the lowest priced dishwasher) up to $946.00. I have been waiting for a case manager to call me, in the meantime I am without a dishwasher. I am not a happy customer of Choice Home Warranty.

He tried calling me 4 times. I called back and talked to someone named Kurt. He was very easy to talk to. I appreciate his help!

There are mostly denials but every once in a while they actually come through when needed. If you can push and fight past all the denials, it's a decent enough company but still shop around because I've heard they are notorious for denials. I've been with them for 10 years and thought it was just me, but even technicians allude to this very statement, so it's common knowledge that CHW will find a way to get out of paying for coverage that they boost they will cover but usually we as customers will experience some form or denial either partially or full.

Extremely difficult company to work with from the day I bought the policy to the day I cancelled it. Total 37 days. We had a major A/C failure which was denied by Choice. I created a case to review my claim. The main gist of the conversation was “NO” we won’t cover the claim, “NO” we can’t help you, “NO” we have no recommendations for you. The lack of empathy and caring during the whole process was infuriating. They did say “Yes” when asked to cancel our policy. Of course we had to eat cancellation fees. This company makes you feel bad for doing business with them. Please skip this company, very very poor customer service!

I claimed for an AC issue on 5/18/22. Their AC technician came and found that it was a clogged drain caused the AC to stop. They tried to unclog the U tube under the sick (upstairs' bathroom) but failed. After they put the U tube back in, it began to leak, so they told me to claim plumbing. But their assigned plumber scheduled my appointment on 5/21. The leakage filled one bucket of water per hour. I tried to reschedule but their plumber was not available until 4pm the next day. I called Choice home warranty immediately, ask for their approval to look for a plumber myself to solve the leak and unclog the drain. They ask me to wait for contact. But no one contact me that day. I couldn't have let the water leak like this until the next afternoon, I had to find a plumber myself to solve this problem that evening. He charged $180 (my community chat advises me this price is a reasonable market price). I contacted Choice the next morning, their representative said that their case manager would contact me within 24 hours. Then, 2 weeks, I called and emailed several times, 6 of their representatives told me to wait for the case manager to contact me within 24 hours. But 12 days passed during which I received no contact, and I finally received the first call on 5/30. The case manager told me that they cannot cover the cost without prior authorization. Although the leaks and drain clearing are covered, although the leakage issue cannot be delayed, emergency issues are also not covered by their policy. Nothing can be negotiated, I found out she was just here to inform me that this case should be closed. Also, just at the beginning of the May, I also claimed another issue about one of my ceiling lights was not working. After many negotiations, it took a full 12 days to get the light back on, and I felt very exhausted. I really don't know the purpose of having a home warranty, other than to waste time and money, and feel frustrated.

I spoke with any case mama her who is named Cassendre. I filed an appeal for my broken A/C. She was very impatient with me on the phone and rude. She had zero interest in trying to get me to understand the issue. Further, I requested that she send over the notes and request made by the gentleman who came and fixed our A/C. She agreed. However, she never did so. Because of this awful experience my husband and I will not be renewing with CHW when the time comes.

Choice is awful! No other word to explain this company. Reps are not knowledgeable, English is terrible making communication a bit difficult. Customer service is extremely limited; in fact this is consistently the worst trait about this lousy company. Their contractors do sloppy work and yet Choice takes no responsibility even though they assign the jobs. They increase pricing with no warning and no explanation as to why the increase is so significant. I’ve had nothing but issue since day one. They could not pay me to continue business with them! All maybe ok until you request service. In the meantime keep eye on your account for non communicated increases.

We had a claim submitted for a leak in our sink. The plumber evaluated the leak. He said it needed a new basket that he would get and install in 2 days. He said that the one in our sink was installed wrong. A day later we get a denial letter. I called that day and was assigned a Case Manager. What a JOKE!!I I called 4 times and never had a call back until ONE WEEK later!! Now I have a leaking sink so I call and tell plumber I still need it fixed. He comes the next day and realizes after taking it a part that he had diagnosed it wrong. I was indeed WEAR AND TEAR!! I paid him $160 since that was his quote after speaking with the manager of the plumbing Company. The tech who installed the new part spoke the to manager. I spoke to the manager also and he said he was contacting Choice Home as we spoke to explain THEIR mistake. I am now out $160 that the Plumbing manager was going to send back to me after it was cleared up with Choice Home. I then finally talk to the NEW Case Manager and said that I will not get my $160 back because another Claim was NOT submitted!!! You have got to be kidding!! I paid my $85.00 fee the first day and now due to your Company who is so...lax in getting back to people, I am left holding the bag. Your Company is a BIG SCAM!! I paid good hard earned money and this is how you treat customer. I will be going the BBB if I am no reimbursed the $160 owed to me for your screw up!

In my case a replacement of complete home AC unit is taking for ever. I paid my portion of fees and still waiting on parts. I’m disable with 3 failed spine surgeries and I’ve been sleeping in living room couch which I was able to get a window ac for the moment. Upon following up with CHW now they said parts still could take 5-7 days more to get them. Then have to get schedule with contractor for installation. I think the process to solve the problem is too long.

They never answer the phones all communicating is via email through the message center. I submitted a claim they denied it without contacting me for an explanation. Stating they do not cover water damage. Had they contacted me the would have learned it was not water damage from my appliance it was the pump needing to be replace. I out of pocket had it replaced without choice help. Terrible customer service.

I am still uncertain about continuing w/ Choice based on my very first experience w/ the technician who came to fix a problem and did not return to complete the job. The service technician from Solutions Maintenance did the job in a very efficient manner. However, I received no notice that he was coming. I still am disappointed about the fact that when I wanted to discontinue w/ the company --I was told that I would have to pay over $300 --and I was initially told that there would be no cancellation fee if I decided to cancel. Little trust in the company.

My experience with choice home warranty has been very poor. They want to replace rather than repair anything. When they do replace, it IS NOT with the same product that you have. They give you a settlement that is dated at contractors base cost. Which means they gave me $600 for a convection oven, cannot touch a new one for $1200. And you are locked into an E gift card from lowes. No shopping around. We had our faucet replaced. They would have given us $45 for a new one, the one we had was $200 new. The contractor worked with me to get a close comparison put back in. The contractor that came out was awesome.

Choice has demonstrated a totla disregard for customer service and assistance. This overall process has been nothing less than horrible. 3 technicians were to be deployed for this repair. 1st technician states he was never notified of the claim. 2nd technician, after repeated calls of he is in route, later was a "no show". 3rd technician whom primary business is home cleaning, determined unit would need a new motor, but indicated he could not do the work as it was unlikely Choice would not cover. Throughout this please now I took off from work 3 separate days, paid $65.00 with NO resolution to the issue!! When calling Choice for support, after minimum waits on the phone of upwards of 1 hour, the individuals assisting simply send me to different departments and on one occasion simply hung up. If this is the number one home warranty organization for the U. S., the industry is in trouble. No support, no courtesy, no care and though I paid full price for the service I have received nothing in return. I have had other warranty services in the past, but with the new purchase of this home the internet indicated Choice was the best. It is obvious to me this is just a ploy as many businesses today pay to show themselves as number one. I would never, never recommend Choice to anyone. A total disappointment. And absolutely no level of professionalism despite my numerous call and request to speak to a supervisor or manager and yet no response back to date. Again, disappointing from a career U. S. Marine of 28 years of service, not that that matters!

Filed a claim for air conditioner not working. The first three companies all canceled their appointments, The fourth a good company checked the system and discovered no freon in system. Chris P with Eco Mech sent an email to claims dept explaining the system is 25 years old with no parts availability, The claims dept instructed Mr. Parker to find the leak with pictures. The nitergen to find leak $150.00. If repaired the cost of R22 refringent full load 33# is $1,450.00. I discussed with claims and claims dept told me they would not pay for the two items. I have no air and looks like Choice Home Warranty does not care. and do not intend to help repair or replace the unit.

I have submitted two claims - the first, a plumbing problem that cost me $6000 - was denied. The second, a refrigerator problem that cost me $180, ended up being reimbursed $25; but, I got a text saying they didn't recognize the claim number and closed the claim. I will never recommend this company to anyone. When I first filed the frig claim, the response came back that someone would be sent in TEN days. It's a refrigerator! I feel I have been completely scammed by this company. I have never been treated well on the phone by agents from Choice. The service I received for the refrigerator repair was wonderful, but did not come through Choice - I foolishly chose the reimburse option, which is obviously another of your scams.

Do not buy a Choice Home warranty!!! The company takes your information and understand the age of your house and average age of your appliance and mechanical items and then uses this to not pay any claims: It has been determined the air conditioner has a damaged compressor. Under normal wear and tear conditions this failure takes time to occur and cannot develop within commencement of the policy. Please refer to your terms and conditions section A number 2; all systems must be in proper working order on the effective date of this home warranty agreement. Known or unknown pre-existing conditions are not covered. I would not recommend Choice home warranty to any one, they are being sued or have sued in several states and really just exist to take your premiums and then not do anything.

The technician is great but the reimbursement was horrible. Yes, I got a credit towards a dishwasher but it wasn’t enough money to replace it. The cheapest dishwasher at Lowes is around $400 and they only gave me $260 minus my $85 co pay…leaves me with $185 for a dishwasher. Not good, n I know the dishwasher brand new was $600.

I should report choice home warranty to my state's attorney general. Had to buy a new air conditioner because they can't find a competent tech that can fix it. Got scammed by one of their many havoc techs. He double dipped me and choice home warranty. When I bought the warranty the salesperson said they cover saltwater pools and when I needed a part replaced they claim they don't warranty salt water pools. I have never just paid a $65 call fee. I pay the $65 fee plus 90% of all repairs because they don't cover anything. Most, not all the technicians they send to my house do not have websites or reviews. One technician told me they never even asked for his credentials. Choice home warranty has been nothing but a nightmare. Don't even think about getting a refund. They'll charge you just to give you a refund. Also, hire an attorney to read their small print because they do not cover anything. Please shop around for another company!!! I say these things because it is truth. They did not fix my air conditioner, I ended up spending a few thousand dollars to have repairs done after my $65 call fee and denied a claim to have a leak test done on my air conditioner and just let the tech put a Band-Aid on the problem which was just add freon, they did not fix my washing machine instead they're going to give me a Lowe's gift certificate for market value of my washing machine, and they did not pay to replace a part ony swimming pool when I specifically asked if they covered the part. So, I paid the $65 call fee and the $200 for the replacement and labor for the part. Choice home warranty has cost me more than if I would have hired a competent and licensed technician for all of my repairs. It would not surprise me if choice home warranty charged me to for this review that I was invited to complete.

First fay plumber came out and looked at it said there was a leak day 2 the plumber cut a hole in my wall found a leak had to wait for approval currently cannot use the upstairs sink and I am looking at a hole in the wall of my newly renovated house. I wonder when it will all be dome and what about the hole in my wall. I paid for 3 years in advance I am now wondering if I made a m mistake

I like their fast responding after a claim was submitted. I don't like the most part failures which are not covered after the technician has given his diagnosis -> too many I exceptions

Date for technician was set quickly and within days. He came in the allotted time and searched for the reason. Getting new seals as they were not tight.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM Horrible. Water heater stopped heating water last Saturday. We called for service. Monday morning the water heater started leaking. Finally had a "plumber" show up late Monday afternoon. He had an assistant that spent his time on his cell phone. The "plumber" said we had a leak, but never checked the heating element. Now Choice says there was a leak only, that to collect on a claim it needed to be mechanical. How much more mechanical than a heating element that doesn't heat. I've been 6 days without hot water and no help. Choice Home Warranty is a scam and I plan on proving them wrong in their supposed diagnosis. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

The service request was scheduled quickly. The technician arrive at the scheduled time. I am less than happy with the decision to pride me with a $ 191.00 e-gift to replace a $600.00 microwave unit.

I like the way when an issue comes up, the request is assigned quickly. However, it's like pulling hens teeth for the claim to be approved for one reason or another. The homeowners are not experts and most are honestly submitting a claim. To have it rejected is a slap in the face when you are consistent with your premium payments and you have been a loyal customer for years.
