On the day of my service call, Otis the technician came to my home on time and promptly diagnosed the problem I had with my washer. I was issued a E- Gift card as my payment for a new washer. Only complaint I have with Choice Warranty is the $343 dollar amount that was issued for my purchasing a new washer. Almost impossible to purchase new washer for that price. Further, the E-Gift card will be arriving in 30 DAYS!! Now that really stinks. Technician Grade- A Choice Warranty Grade- D

your assigned value to replace an appliance with one of similar function is ridiculously low. You insist that the value is based on "what we can get it for" is insane as that value is less than wholesale. your values imply that the markups for the appliances is 100% to 300 %, which is insane. I have had two claims with your company and repair is never attempted in leu of "replacement" using a bogus value. I will never renew your service as it really is very little help in replacing the appliances as we pay the premium as well as 50 to 75% of the actual cost of replacement. I'll save myself the aggravation!

My water heater was leaking and it took them over a week to have someone over to check it out. My appointments were canceled twice with two different contractors and they didn't notify me. There is horrible communication between them and contractors. My first appointment was almost 10 days out. I called the contractor to see if there was an earlier appointment and they told me that they notified Choice that they will not be able to fit me in to their schedule. Choice was suppose to assign me a different contractor and they didn't. Second contractor, My appointment was set for 3 days later on a Friday from 3-8, which I was okay with. Its 8:30 and no one showed up so I called the contractor just to find out that they stopped working with Choice 2 days before and again, Choice failed to communicate that to me and they failed to look for someone else to fix my water heater. I called them Saturday but since it was the weekend, they weren't able to find anyone to come. They were finally able to find a contractor to come over. On the Monday the 14th, I received and email of the upcoming appointment for the 16th from 11-3. I called the contractor to re-schedule for a later time because I don't get home until after 3. Come to find out that the contractor had told Choice that he was going to be able to come but until after 5 and that same day, not the 16th like the email said. I am not sure were the disconnect is but there is definitely something wrong and It need serious attention. I am not even going to talk about their customer support experience. They definitely do not know how to talk to people and it seems like they are just reading off script in a screen.

So far, my experience with Choice Home Warranty was in signing up. The person I spoke with was in a huge hurry. He was not very helpful and I forgot to ask several questions. Then I spoke to 4 other people trying to get something clarified. I still don't know if my policy is correct. I'm not sure about the online portion of this service. You don't log in with a password but your email address and policy number...odd to say the least. The coupon presented in the email is pretty close to a bait and switch. Somehow or another, the price quoted "includes" the free month. They say they would normally give you an extra (13th month) free but if you don't pay for an entire year in advance, well, you don't get the discount or the extra month. Pretty shaky start. I had to call back to add pool coverage. The person said i would receive an email with that update. Never received the email. I haven't been able to download or read my contract. I never signed anything for a contract, but I did order month-to-month service. So this is my experience so far. Maybe Choice will be an amazing service provider, but all I know is what I've experienced so far in the last few days. Not a great start Choice Home Warranty. So the true test will be if anyone reads this and either emails or calls me to follow up. I'm betting they don't. But I will certainly amend my review if they do.

i have used this company for frig. dishwasher 2 times and cloths washer, i have never had a good experience!!!! they hane never backed up theyre waranty the way they said they would. when they said if they cant fix they will replace they give you 199,00 and tell you to buy a 1600,00 dollar frig with it, They will give you an excuse for not being able to fix machine ex. they said the techs for my dishwasher where not qualified techs when they where the ones that sent the techs to my house. it took them 3 mouths to tell me to techs. couldnt fix it, this company is a sham and doesnt stand by its guarantee

-1 star would not recommend!!Choice Home Warranty in my opinion one of the worst home warranty companies I have ever done business with I have been waiting 3 months for a water heater repair due to incompetence on the service provider and Choice delays in approval for additional parts needed to finish a simple job ! Also recent declined a repair for my furnace stating it was a maintenance issue and not their responsibility. I paid for a second opinion on the job and the plumbing company stated no preventable Maintainance would have stopped the secondary heat exchanger failure as it is a common issue and design issue in the carrier units older than 10years and a carrier warranty part , just needed labor covered . Choice declined payment on the claim and breaking the contract outlined in the total home warranty I purchased . I have been without heat for over a week in freezing Midwest weather while choice has no sense of urgency to reply to my supporting information and documentation of the issue that should be covered . Don’t be fooled by the sales people saying everything is covered because they will decline the claims to avoid payment on valid claims .

Highly NOT Recommended. I would like to give "NO" stars as its not worth it. People working at Choice home warranty are very rude. Our stove wasn't working, out of 4 burners 3 burners are not working. Choice sent two technician to double check the issue. Both the technician mentioned that all four infinity switches and stove glass top needs to replaced. With that said, our ovan door had some issue. According to Choice Home Warranty, door doesnt fall in "Normal" Wear and tear issues and hence they couldnt repair or replace the stove. When escalated by us, we were assigned case manager AZFAR ALI for our Stove, who was the most rude person to talk to. He kept on saying this is not Normal etc etc. and same issue . We added the technician on our call who provided the report. He asked the technician whats the cost of repairing the switches and stove glass top. When technician told him the cost of the repair work. He mentioned to us, that this is not normal situation for repair and this comes under safety. If this is not normal then what is a normal situation. If the case manager says this falls under safety issue, it highly needs to be replaced or repaired. I would highly recommend NO Choice Home warranty, if anyone are considering.

I've had Choice Home Warranty for almost eight years. During that time I've had a few claims. The smaller claims were covered with no issues but I've had two that not so minor and they gave me quite a hassle. The first one was my dish washer stopped working. They found the problem but determined it didn't make sense to repair; it would be better to replace. They offered me $200 towards the cost of a new system even though that was just less than 50% the cost of repair. I escalated the issue and was offered $300 instead. No matter what I tried; they would not cover the total cost of repair towards the purchase of a new system. Recently I had an issue with the HVAC unit not producing enough heat. Even before my system was ever opened and a diagnosis done; my claim was denied with a reason that there's no way to determine without a diagnosis. After the diagnosis was done; my claim again was again denied this time with a new reason. I filed an appeal; and again a new test was required but that also resulted in a claim denial. I performed three different tests and they showed I have a bad defrost board and a leak in the evaporator coils. The cause of the leak was undetermined. Choice denied my claim stating a leak like this could only come from rust or corrosion. This was not determined by any of the technicians and the only reason that would cause an exclusion under my policy. After many escalations; I was offered $300 towards replacing the defrost board but nothing for the evaporator coils replacement. Last time I renew my policy; I made the mistake of doing a 5 year contract. I just found out that I cannot cancel my policy; or if I do; I would not get a refund on my remaining years.

We had them put a hot water heater in and it took over 2 months for them to do it. They replaced or hwh with a cheep one that lasted less than 2 yrs. When we called for it to be replaced and they said WE would have to pay for it because it was under manufactures warranty. But THEY bought the cheep thing in the 2swt place. Yesterday they were to work on our refrigerator and the tech. that THEY provided did not show up nor call to say they was not going to.

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. I waited over a week and still never got a tech out. I was forced to fig it out on my own the reps were rude and could care less about my situation. I was repeatedly told 24/48 hrs i was told that there were not any managers available and that they were also closed on a Monday. After all of this they denied coverage saying something happened to my water heater that did NOT happen at all. I have yet to speak to a supervisor which i was told that they had to request which would also take 24hrs. This company is the biggest rip off! Don't waste your time run like hell!!

after the job was done i smelt something coming from my attic like something was burning. i called all star service co. who did the job and asked if they could send someone out to check the smell. they said they cant i have to call back choice warranty. I told them it smells like smoke and my wife was scaired to go in the house, they did not care at all. i then called choice to see if they could send someone. they said no not till they make a new claim. I told them that my house may burn down they did not care.I had the problem fixed by someone else. I will cancle my contract with choice not because of the work as much as they showed me they could care less about there customers or there problems. they only cared about opening a new claim to get another $75. 00 service vee

This plumber tried to sell me a drain cleaner for $100 after doing the work. And the drain they did clear is better but it still doesn't drain normally so I will need to call them back.

Very disappointing. I was told at 11:54AM on February 11th that my claim would be EXPEDITED and a technician would call me in approximately 2-hours. FIVE hours later, I called Choice Home Warranty and shared the part the claim be "expedited". I was told that expediting claims is not a practice at Choice. Bottom-line is that my system was repaired yesterday (2/15), but I had to find my own technician. And the "reimbursement" option is a real disappointment. I'll be looking for another warranty service!

Our microwave died, so we called Choice. A technician came out, inspected, and reported back to Choice. Choice decided it was not worth repairing and offered us less than 50% the value to replace it. Choice didn't even give us the choice of where we wanted to buy our replacement, we are getting an e-gift card to Lowes. What a joke! We paid thousands of dollars for this coverage for 3 years! We are so upset with Choice. On top of that, no one even contacted us about the replacement. We had to call! We were told an email had been sent, no. But it did conveniently showed up a few minutes later. Very poor communication and company. We only wish we could get the money we spent back, instead we are paying more on top of that initial fee.

I am not very happy. I had to submit THREE claims to get the same issue addressed. I had to pay THREE times for the same issue to be addressed. I am no longer confident that the issue has even been resolved -only time will tell, nor am I confident that CHW is capable of providing qualified service. It feels like a sham. making me pay THREE times for the same issue and every time the fee I have to pay gets higher.

BEWARE-We had a plumbing issue, I put a claim in online (no representative to walk you through the process) and was informed Home Choice would assign a plumber to my case. They couldn’t not get a plumber for over a week and half-unacceptable. I was then informed I could hire my own plumber and receive reimbursement. After the work was completed and paid for out of pocket Home Choice informed me they would not cover the cost because my toilet was removed to perform the snaking and snaking was only covered by access point. Something me or my plumber was never made aware of. I appealed my claim to have the most unprofessional customer representative I’ve ever encountered assigned to my case with no acceptable resolution. Do yourself a favor and choose any other company besides Home Choice Warranty

This was my second and last bad experience with choice. Last December my hot water heater died. I waited four days and still no one showed up. I finally had a new water installed at my own expense This time, in the middle of a bitter cold January my furnace stopped working. I called choice right away. After waiting five days the company they had contacted to handle this never showed up and I found out they were out of business. Finally after a fair amount of back and forth (and a fair amount of screaming) I said if someone was not here in 24 hours I would cancel my policy. Next day this new tech arrived. He mentioned that five days without service was not right. He took care of the furnace and it’s now working. I have heard only negative reviews about choice. I am paying over $600:00 for this plan, had to pay $1800.00 for a water heater out of my own pocket. Fortunately for me my furnace did not have to be replaced. Seems to me I no longer want to deal with this company. I AM NOW CANCELLING MY POLICY.

It takes to long between the time of the equipment breakdown and the time the issue is resolved. Some no critical thing this would be okay but with an appliance that is necessary to keep your food like a refridgerator that you can't wait 2-Weeks before the repair is made becomes a serious problem.
