I have only had one claim so far, and it has been a bit frustrating. After 2 days of a sump pump failure, I was finally able to get a technician out, only after selecting the reimbursment option. The policy is that the technician has to enter the diagnosis before doing any work, but the section that approves the diagnosis is only open during certain hours. This means I have to risk having a flooded basement because the technician can't perform a job without approval. There should be something in place for reimbursement of after hour emergency services.

While it took a bit of unexpected effort, I wanted to update my review and share that Choice Home Warranty has replaced my garage door opener. While I was very disappointed the repair was initially declined for coverage, I am pleased that ultimately the warranty coverage was honored. The repair person was prompt and completed the repairs quickly.

I was a bit concerned that the first vendor selected to repair my stove never showed up nor returned any of my phone calls. That vendor was one of the reasons I left American Home Shield. After a few calls to CHW relaying my concerns, I was rescheduled with Champion. I am very pleased with Champion's professionalism and quality. I hope Champion will be used for my warranty repairs in the future.

For service calls the claim is easy to make, and quick to assign a technician. They are qualified, and speak highly of the company. Recently my dishwasher died, and they made an offer to me. Even though this was a high end unit, stainless steel tub, because we couldn’t find the noise level dB, even from Kenmore, they decided to not consider a higher or decent offer. Their offer didn’t even cover the installation and haul off cost of a new unit. I plan to cancel my remaining years on my contract.

I liked the technician and the fact that he was able to fix the problem quickly. The only thing I didn’t like is how large the time frame window was that they gave me of when the technician would be there. The window was 11-3pm, which is a large window and makes it hard to schedule my day around it.

My refrigerator needs a new compressor. It is 16 years old. It will cost the insurance close to $700.00 to get it repaired. I asked the supervisor if it would be possible that I buy the refrigerator and get reimbursed with the repair money. It’s as simple as that. He said it’s their policy to fix what is fixable. I don’t get it and I don’t understand what’s the difference!

We have had 2 claims this winter, the first one was a cracked water pipe underneath the house. We had to wait longer than a week for a plumber to come repair it. Meanwhile water was gushing underneath the house in December! By the time the plumber came my husband and our fabulous neighbor spent 5 hours fixing it. When the plumber came out he didn’t replace the pipe that was patched! He said it was fine! Easiest $65 he ever made! Our second clime was last week, our furnace broke down in single digit weather. No technician could come out For 4 days! Then it took 3 more days for the repairs! These long delays in service is unacceptable!

What i like best is that they found a contractor right away for my need, what i didn't like is that once the contractor found out what the problem was, i got left in the cold and on my own. Able t o get in contact easily Contacting a technician to service the problem. Unfortunately I have had trouble getting a technician to service when schedule but in the long run the problem is taken care of. Seems that they only have a tech to handle our garage door opener problem and wait time is 5 days. Effort should be made to have a backup when their selected is not available. At least they were fast in getting a CHW agent appointment and let us know.

Sent Pinnacle pools out to replace the pump, they found a leak and wanted $250 to repair the leak. I said let me check with my pool guy to see what he would charge. So they took the pump back and said would not install it until the leak was fixed. I asked how can he fix it if there is no pump running to show where the leak is? Their comment, "Your problem". Not a good way to do business!!

Tech came quickly. Decision on repair or replace was next day. Agreed to take Lowes e-gift card as replacement. BUT having to wait up to 30 days for money is unacceptable. Your appliance is not working as it should. I can’t wait 30 days to replace it!!

For the most part, the service is very good once you get to talk to an agent. However today the agent I talked to didn't speak clear English so it took repeated times to get my claim filed. Also the automated portion of trying to speak to an Agent, doesn't work very well, I had to answer the same questions over and over.

I was concerned with the time it would take to address my furnace failure. No one would say response would be soon and initially I was told it would be about a week. When your house is already 42 degreeds F, this is not good. I contacted the vender and they knew I needed immediate help and the owner came out and fixed my furnace. The vender was excellent, but Choice Warranty left me in the learch.

I was disappointed in the determination of my most recent claim. The technician was excellent in diagnosing the problem as one or both of the pumps. He thought that they needed to be replaced. However, the determination was to provide $245 in Lowes gift cards to 'replace' the dishwasher. The cost of a replacement dishwasher with similar features is over $450 at Lowes. I looked up the parts cost for the pumps $271. So the statement "Great News from CHW, We are Replacing your System" is not true at all. I have paid $65 dollars for an accurate diagnosis so I have a net of $180 for 'replacing my System'. I am very disappointed in Choice Home Warranty and am considering going to another warranty replacement firm.

While assigning the job gets 4 stars, getting the service provider to solve the problem gets a 2. It's a garage door problem and it will take 4 days for the technician to come. I called him to check if he could reschedule. I am 67 years old and it's hard to be pushing the door up to get it open.

they really do not seem to care about their customers relationship with them have offered many suggestions to improve things i encountered with them thry ignore my suggestions they will no longer replace an appliance if they cannot fix it they will low ball you as to what they could pay for a replacement leaving you to pay a couple hundred out of your pocket for an equivalient appliance communications with the representatives is haphazard at best with a claim manager i will try american home warranty after the end of this service contract

Turned in a claim for repair of my kitchen exhaust fan. They sent out a very nice and professional technician to investigate. He diagnosed a bad fan motor. I paid the tech the service fee per contract. Within minutes I received an email stating it was not covered. The contract clearly states that ceiling and exhaust fans are covered. Outrageous. I am awaiting a review by a claim specialist. If they continue to decline, I will pursue by other means. A couple months ago, they declined to replace my shot garage door opener as well. Not currently a big fan. Will see how they handle this claim.

It is a very good service. Yet, there are improvements that could be made. I needed a new thermostat and I had one to be installed but was told it would cost an extra $150 if if they install my thermostat. Therefore I have to wait at least five days for them to obtain a much cheaper thermostat to install.
