My garage door broke on a Saturday afternoon and a tech didn't come out until Friday night - 6 days later. I had to repair my garage door just to get it to close because I didn't want it wide open for almost a week. I can't think of many warranty issues in which you wouldn't need much quicker response time. On top of the delay, Choice was terrible at sending me the correct date and time of service. The garage door company called me early Monday and informed of the appointment time. Choice kept sending me messages listing the wrong dates and time.

The service technician was great. Choice gave us a low ball replacement cost on our washer by falsely claiming our model number capacity was lower than it actually was! I had to find the model online myself and send the case manager a screen shot myself. Then the case manager explained the ridiculous policy of replacement at wholesale costs vs. retail. How can the consumer find a "replacement" without replacement money? To top it off, the amended gift card for my replacement will take 30 days? It cannot take that long for a digital gift card to be emailed. This whole thing is a farce and a way to bully the customer, hold onto the replacement money longer, and it reeks of corporate greed! After my contract I am done with Choice and I will a find a company that seeks to honor their commitment to customer service!

Terrible Emergency Service and Lack of Supervisory Support I recently had a horrible experience with Choice Home Warranty when I filed an emergency claim for a critical issue with my well water pump. Unfortunately, the entire process was an absolute nightmare, and I am compelled to share my negative experience. First and foremost, the most glaring issue was the complete failure of Choice Home Warranty to provide timely assistance. After filing an emergency claim due to a loss of water pressure during freezing temperatures, they still hadn't found a service provider over 24 hours later. This unacceptable delay left my household without water and subjected us to unnecessary inconvenience and discomfort. To add insult to injury, after an agonizing wait, I received an email suggesting that I handle the situation myself and seek reimbursement. However, this supposed solution came with a catch – reimbursement had to be approved. This left me in a frustrating position of uncertainty, wondering whether I would be compensated for the expenses incurred in addressing the emergency. Despite my dissatisfaction, I took it upon myself to find a service provider independently. When I provided Choice Home Warranty with the contact information, they nonchalantly informed me that they may or may not contact them. This lackadaisical approach to a critical situation is inexcusable and reflects a blatant disregard for their customers' urgent needs. Upon expressing my concerns and dissatisfaction, I was informed that Choice Home Warranty does not provide an emergency response and that I should expect a resolution within 24-48 hours. This contradictory stance, coupled with their failure to communicate this information upfront, is indicative of a company that prioritizes bureaucratic processes over customer well-being. When I requested to speak with a supervisor to address the escalating issues, I was informed that a supervisor was not available. The lack of supervisory support only further exemplifies the company's unwillingness to take responsibility for their shortcomings and provide the necessary assistance to distressed customers. Despite having positive experiences in the past, my recent encounter with Choice Home Warranty has left me deeply disappointed and regretful of paying for a year up front on my renewal. The lack of urgency, poor communication, and unavailability of supervisory support during a critical situation have shattered my trust in their ability to deliver reliable and timely service. I strongly advise potential customers to reconsider their choice when it comes to home warranty providers, as my experience with Choice Home Warranty has been nothing short of a disaster.

Good customer service and very responsive. However, the number of claims filed vs the number paid makes it questionable whether it’s a good investment. Currently based on my experience it’s about a 33% success rate while other companies are closer to the 90 percentile range.

1. Long wait times to talk to a representative 2. Can’t understand the representative. They don’t enunciate clearly. They talk too fast, and they don’t speak English very well 3. I reported a leak under my sink on November 10. Got a claim number. Heard nothing from anyone and called back on November 15. Representative said all the company’s that addressed this problem were busy. Finally I got a text that someone would be at my house on Tuesday, November 21. Between 7 am and 11 am. Didn’t give me the name of the company. I was up and dressed waiting at 7 am. No one showed up 4. I called back later that day. Waited a long time. Never got through So, it’s been 9 working days and I still have a leak under my sink .

I called to ask if someone can come back out to look at the same issue that was supposed to have been fixed last month and Choice Home Warranty said I had to call them within 30 days. I was 3 days past the 30 day window so now I have to open a new claim for the same problem I had last month. Doesn’t make sense you have to put a new claim in for the same problem, same issue, same appliance., same system, etc. We have to pay another service fee for the same company to come out again and try to fix the same issue they attempted to fix last month. Any recurring issue with the same problem should not be charged a service fee if the system is still having issues. It’s not a new issue, it’s the same issue. Stop trying to rob people and just help. There should be a waiver or grace period. People shouldn’t have to keep paying service fees for the same issue.

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. I have an outstanding claim from Sept 25 . I was notified that a technician would be here for my hot water heater between 11:00 and 3:00 I waited all day no one showed up called the company They said Troy said never given them the work order When I called and demanded to speak to a supervisor I was told they would call me right back I waited very patiently when I called them again the whole department's closed. some customer service that is. This company has absolutely no idea what they are doing. I have spent many phone calls and many hours waiting for this one claim this company is not worth it do not waste your money

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the biggest scam of a company I have ever come across! Should have researched and looked at all your horrible reviews and BBB before throwing $600 out the window. No wonder there was a class action law suit against this joke of a company! Very deceitful and the repair companies you go through is an absolute joke. Called for my garbage disposal to be repaired I was told there was nothing wrong with that. Never even bothered to check it at all. The noise alone would let anybody with half a brain realize there was a problem with it. Put a can of green beans and card board under my pipe to stop a leak. “Repair” guy came to the door with a pencil and 2 small screw drivers he picked up at the Dollar Store before coming to my home. He told me to never move it. He repeatedly asked ME if I had this tool and that tool in an anger way. And told me it was too far to go back down to his car to get the tools he actually needed. Again NEVER checked/ fixed the initial repair I had called about. He was there less than 15 minutes without fixing a thing and charged me $75!!! I’m discussed and beyond upset with this whole experience and waste of money for your pathetic excuse of a company. I will let everyone know what a scam you are!!! You are an absolute disgrace knowingly robbing people. Absolutely disgusting!!!!

This ended in the worst experience I have ever had with a company representative. I called them and informed them I wanted to cancel my policy. That set off a half hour torrent of insulting questions about why I wanted to cancel. It was unbelievable, invasive and extremely antagonistic. By the end I had to agree to forfeit my coverage for the rest of the month for which I just the day before had auto paid $87. There was no "We are sorry to see you go but you are still covered till the end of the month."Instead their rule is we keep the money and as a penalty you r coverage is cancelled immediately! It was the worst.

When we first bought our townhouse we were told to buy a home warranty for our appliances . We purchased Choice warranty after reading many reviews. Unfortunately we were sorry we did. We had never owned a house before and never had a garbage disposal. I was curious to see how it worked and I flipped the switch for it. I heard a cranking sound. I called Choice they said I needed to wait 2 weeks until the warranty kicked in. So I could use the garbage disposal until the 2 weeks passed. I also didn't like the fact that they were hard to reach. If there was a serious problem we were in trouble.I do not like waiting on the phone when I have a problem that needs to be resolved. Calling service repair companies without a warranty treat me very differently. They are more professional and more reliable

I liked my tech company for my appliances. I wished I had them the first two years of my membership. I really hated the process of having tech who told me at the door that Choice would not pay for my problem. I felt I was giving money away to people who wouldn't even look at the problem. I also disliked the techs that disassemble your appliance, ordered parts and twice the incorrect part were sent. It took months for the part. Choice then said they wouldn't pay because they had closed the case. There is lots I didn't like. I spent more money having Choice for their inability to find certified technician and not included in your warranty. For instance the hot water heater was in a tank!!! When I was asked to find my own repair person ninety percent of companies I contacted refused to work with Choice. Many of the techs appear to come from a labor pool and didn't know what they were doing! It truly was a costly mess.

Have not delivered on timeliness. Repair delayed because of pre-authorization. Confusion over interpretation of contract in regards to AC parts that are under product warranty whereas labor and ancillary parts, etc, not covered under product warranty are also not covered under Choice contract.

I signed up to a plan with Choice Home Warranty to cover all major appliances, including my air conditioner with an effective start date of coverage on October 13, 2023. On that day, my air conditioner compressor failed, causing electrical interference on other appliances. I was relieved knowing I had recently signed up with Choice Home Warranty, only to find out that my air conditioner wasn’t covered because they claimed it entered the plan with a preexisting issue. The unit worked fine on the morning of October 13, 2023, so I was perplexed with what they told me regarding my claim. I would strongly urge anyone reading this review to not do business with Choice Home Warranty, as they have no intention of paying for appliance failure. They’re a scam and shady company. If you enter into a contract with them, rest assured you WILL NOT have coverage on a claim. I give them ZERO stars!!! DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!!

FRAUDULENT COMPANY Electric issue $4 part 2" PVC male adapter I bought to fix but they sent a Electrician Without any knowledge how to turn power off But he charged me $75 plus tax? Just To tell me he can't fix it. After choice, sent the electrician prior that never showed up billed me $75 over phone to have choice tell me he canceled service contract with choice. After Waited almost a month and a 1/2. To then have choice tell me my clame has been denied They're good at taking your money They take advantage of senior Citizens Totally disgusted make all my premiums on time. But when you need their help, you're denied. This company does not have your back they have only your wallet Avoid this company run away why you have a chance

My request for emergent service for plumbing was placed on 10/7 Saturday and I didn’t get serviced til 10/11 Wednesday. it’s good thing my son was able to get the water turned off otherwise my shower would have been running for 5 days. We had a tech come check our air conditioner. He said it was not broke, however, before he came we had our regular ac guy check it and he said there were a lot of things that needed to be fixed. We spent three hours on the phone today trying to get someone to come back to check again. One of your reps said he was coming to fix the refrigerator and said she would check with her supervisor and never got back to us. Another rep said he will document this and said there was no diagnosis. He was going to talk with his supervisor we gave him our no to call us back and never did. The third rep said the same thing that he would expedite the diagnosis report and get back to us. Very unprofessional of your reps to not call us back and would not give us to a case manager. I’ve had Choice for quite a few years and very unhappy with this. I also need to have my ac working and would like to get a new tech to my house asap. We were told not to operate the ac until it is fixed. We need answers asap since we cannot go without ac now and do not want to put it on. Please advise.

They said no to my claim. Something about a pre-existing. I really didn't know my AC was going to out. I waited 2 months without hearing back from the company. Really bad customer service. I called a number of times to find out what was going on with my claim. I got three different answers each time it was different answer . The company only cares about making money. Guess if I had a problem with my faucet things would be different. Thanks so much for nothing!!
