I like the quick response and follow up by the computer. Some of the contractors were great some not so much. I was denied a fix that I thought should have been honored but let it go. I cancelled my warranty and requested a refund because after 18 months of no claims, because my hot water heater had to be replaced. And although it was still covered under manufacturer warranty which paid for the appliance, your company wanted to charge me $450 in addition to the $85 that I’d already paid. Because of this, I cancelled and requested a refund for the other 3 1/2 years that I had prepaid. I could not understand it since Choice would have had to pay for the heater had I not had a manufacturer warranty. So you would have saved the cost of the heater but still wanted me to pay $450 for non covered charges. For this reason, I left your company and went to another.

It’s easy to notify Choice of a problem. I have to wait all day for service from the vendor. Their window is 8-5, so the whole day! That’s bad enough one day for a repair, but they never have the parts, with the exception of the plumber. Sear service never has the part and we had at least 5 calls for a repair they had trouble solving. How much vacation time do you have to take off for an ice maker repair?????

I’m extremely disappointed! Up until now I really did not have any complaints about the company however with this last incident that has changed. Three times I have contacted Choice about the same issue regarding Central AC within a month-month 1/2 and clearly something is “off” I’m guessing only approving bandages for repair which brings me to time 3. They contracted the worse possible company Sears Home Repair. This company by far has no consideration for its consumers. Painting the picture: 105 heat index, confirmation texts and emails including the day of appointment, time between 8AM- 12PM. Sears no showed the appointment (different review). CHOICE was of no help with concern as the 12PM deadline approached and only kept saying to contact the company (Sears) and call them (Choice) back in no one shows in 2 hours. Needless to say was not able to get in touch with said repair company and after waiting 40 minutes and 2 1/2 hours later confirmed that a whole day was wasted. After reaching back out to choice the best I got was an okay we’ll reassign the claim. This AC issue should have been fixed the 1st time and definitely by the second.

I,ve been a customer for over three years. I have been pleased with the service. I live in western Kentucky and sometimes it’s hard to get someone to come out fast, buys that would be the same without a service contract. People do things at their own pace. It is very easy to put in a claim online and easy to track the repair appointments. I will continue with Choice Home Warranty because they have always met my needs.

The service was good. The garbage disposal stopped working and the technician replaced it with a new one which works fine. However, it was the least expensive model. I would have like to update to a more expensive brand/model even if I had to pay an additional amount. I would like to have had that option.

We contacted Choice to have two leaky faucets replaced. I purchased the replacement faucets as I wanted particular styles to replace the old leaky ones. They were not particularly expensive but the Choice people did not answer my requests for compensation. The total for the kitchen faucet was $124.70 and the bathroom faucet was $47.19, totaling $171.89. The plumber received $249 per faucet installation plus the $85.00 fee. I have worked with another Home Warranty company for years and they were never this difficult to work with. I called Choice 2 or 3 times and no one would discuss this issue. Once our contract is up, we will most likely switch back to our old Home Warranty company.

Good communication. Plumber did not have required part and company would not allow him to go to local store to purchase needed part. As a result, a follow up visit was needed to complete. Plumber did nice work and was a pleasure to deal with. I question company policy of not allowing him to purchase part to complete instead of scheduling another visit.

I had to use the warranty last year for my stove. It was an older stove and they gave me a $500 gift card to get a new one. Then I had to use it again on my hot tub where they replaced the motor in my hot tub. I just did it all online.

I liked the prompt service and excellent appponitment process. What I did not like was one time I had an issue which was set up quickly but when the contractor called me to scheduled he seemed confused as to where I was located and then we both found out that he would be coming from the Baltimore area which is about 80 miles from my location so I told him I would find a local contractor and he could cancel my request. Why do you not have service companies in the local area. I know many and will most likely contact them directly and not renew my contract with Choice.

I like the fact that we have a home warranty to cover things, however, the problem is we’ve waited several weeks now to get our microwave either repaired or replaced. The tech came and looked at the microwave and said he’d search for parts and be back in 2 weeks with either the part or a new microwave. The day of the appointment, he never showed or called and we’ve called CHW twice to get the problem resolved and we were told both times to call back in 48 hrs if we haven’t heard from the tech. We have still not heard from the tech and we still do not have a working microwave. It’s been close to 4 weeks.

On my call, I was not at all happy with the global contracting company I needed to "TRY" and reach to make an appt., but that was more the lack of customer service with THAT company. I told Choice to re-assign and they did, with no issues. I prefer a local, responsive company, and that's what I got.

Heat pump. Started blowing cold last winter, submitted claim, 1st tech assigned called me and said that they didn’t work for Choice and couldn’t fix my hvac. Called choice again it took 6 weeks to have another technician come by. By then it was 80 degrees and they couldn’t fix it. This fall, cold outside, submitted claim, no response. Called again. Received an email at 7 am saying technician will be here between 11 and 3 that day. No tech that day. (Wednesday). Called tech, said that they would call Thursday. No call. Still haven’t received call. Have started new claim. Still cold after 20 days .

I had no communication of itemized charges, neither covered nor non-covered. My replacement water provided was a 40gal versus the 50gal the plumbing company requested. I was told by the plumber that it was the warranty company who made the change. The lack of communication as to exactly where the $ goes and what exactly I'm paying out of pocket is frustrating and, in my opinion, unprofessional.

I needed my sprinklers fixed. After almost 2 1/2 weeks and at least 3 calls later I get an email saying a sprinkler technician from Roto Rotor would be out the next day. I called them to confirm and was told they do not do sprinklers ever!! Also they had no order or did not know who you were. I called you to talk to a Supervisor and was given an Agent who told me he would send a message to the Supervisor to start an investigation. I never heard back from anyone since. This happened last week. The reason I had to wait for someone to come out as I was told, no sub contractors contacted your company. In other words, they could not get a company that worked on sprinklers. That is not an acceptable reason!!!! I pay each month for your service, and when I have a problem I expect your company to have professionals in the areas I pay for in my contract. I have had 2 of your technicians out and had no problems. I called one day and the next day someone came out and fixed the problem. Please have someone contact me to explain what happened. I got a very bad start on my second claim in a year… While I do feel the warranty is worth is, it can be painful. One claims rep that I talked to on a come-back (the original problem re-occurred in less than 2 weeks). When they tried to collect the claim fee a second time I explained that it was a come-back. He argued with me. I asked to speak with a manager no less than 10 times. He refused. I called him an idiot. (I apologize for stooping to his level!). He said a manager would call me back….. weeks later, I’m still waiting on that. Meanwhile, the next day I called back and got a very kind and patient customer service rep who LISTENED to me. She agreed, contacted the service tech, and got the Claim fee waived.thank you for hiring her!

Reasonable response time for scheduling repairs. Not required to pay when making the initial contact for service call. Capable vendors with no attempt to look for exclusions to coverage. I think every time I've used it, it's been for A/C. I put in a work request and they came out, took them about 5 minutes, flipped the switch, and the unit started working again. So it was expensive for what it took to fix it, but it's good to have it up and running. I've had them come several times for eight different A/C issues and most of the time, everything's gone pretty good. I'd probably recommend them. There's always room for improvement.

We went through the Choice people and they were responsive and sent someone right out. And the guy was able to fix it on the spot kind of thing, maybe it took him an hour and a half or something. So it was good. It was valuable. We haven't really had to use it very often, which is a good thing. But like all insurance, you buy it and you hope you don't have to use it.

I've used it once and I'm very happy with the technician. The only complaint I have is Choice keeps sending me emails about other products that I'm not interested in and I requested several times to unsubscribe and I still get emails. The technician was great, the response time was great. The person I dealt with at Choice on the phone was great. It was overall a really good experience. Just take me off your mailing list.

I used it two times. One is for my garage door not going down or getting stuck in between. The technician was assigned quickly and within two days the technician came and found out that the motor needs to be replaced and they did replace the motor. That is maybe worth $350 to $400, so the service was excellent. And at the time, I had an issue with the refrigerator ice forming. The technician was assigned but it took like a week or so. But he came and then he needed a part and the part was approved. And they replaced it after a week or so.

Choice has been a great service. I purchased an older home and they have assisted with many unexpected repairs. The only draw back is that it will take several days or a week to get one of their contractors to evaluate the issue, then the issue has to be approved to be fixed. Sometimes it may require for them to come back out. They have been very fair in fixing the problem, you just have patience during the process.

I have had CHW deny a claim after they initially ok'd it. My dishwasher needed a new pump. The first vendor got it approved, but never showed up again, The second vendor had the new pump denied. CHW wanted to pay for replacing the dishwasher, except the price was way too low. I fought for a higher amount and received it, but they would only issue it as a Lowe's ecard. Another time, they sent a vendor for a gas pipe leak. CHW misunderstood the vendors claim, saying that the pipe was put in wrong and therefore they wouldn't pay for repair. I talked with the vendor and he said that is not what he sent them. He said that he would try to straighten it out, but was not successful. I have several other claims that have been denied or hard to settle, but you get the idea. If it's a simple claim, it usually goes through more smoothly. A few of their vendors are unreliable, yet I've had some who are very good.

I would recommend it. Anytime I call, I get to actually talk to someone, not a menu, and they're always very helpful and they get someone here quickly. I just think it's a good value and it's very nice for a homeowner to be able to pay a service fee and not have a whole lot of extra charges.

I can only speak about one experience, and that was excellent. I signed up online, I didn't speak to anybody. And then the guy who was supposed to fix the stuff came. It was pretty simple and it solved my problem. The guy was very nice and it didn't take him long to fix it.

They repaired a leak under my sink. The plumber was there within a couple of days and finished the repair, so it went fine. I really didn't have much interaction with them, but the interaction I did have was fine. So far, so good.
