Called for service on a faulty water valve. The claimed was denied, but I needed the work done. So I paid the tech to do the work and appealed the decision. After talking to the rep he agreed to pay for the repair. But when I said I already had it repaired by the tech you sent. You again denied my claim. My real estate agent called a contact he knew and was told that you would then write me a check…still waiting on the check almost a month later. Your company is not one that I would ever recommend to anyone!

They respond fast. I think one time we had a problem with the breaker circuit, and they responded so fast and they came and fixed it. And then a problem with the stove, the numbers didn't appear, and they fixed that too.

Way too many communications on signing up for a homewarranty when you already have one. Took way too long for someone to get back to me after my first request for repairs. Had to send another request. Really no communication on how things were going. And when our refrigerator would be fixed. Then a week later said they would be at my home the next day.

The technician was the nicest person in the world, but Sears customer support, well let's just say, when you outsource work to other countries on the other side of the world, they customer service lacks the service part.

I'm not really happy with them. I've had a washer repair scheduled. They came out December on the 20th. He ordered parts, they came about 3 days later. He's scheduled to come back on the 27th. I waited all day that day and the next day and he never showed, and I never heard anything. I called Choice, they said it shows my account I canceled my call, for the service. I said I didn't call anybody to cancel. Why didn't he come? They said 'Well, it's showing cancelled on our end.' And I said, you better look again. So he said, we'll get someone to call you. And I had to call them a second time. And then, of course, there's no telephone number. I tried to do a chat with them. Choice wanted me to fill out my name, number, the washer, the complaint, and pay $65 more. I already paid for it and all this stuff and I just got out of it. So this has not been a good experience at all.

I seem to call off hours when it's less busy for me. And sometimes there's some language issues. Sometimes there's issues where things don't make sense on what they're telling me. I had an issue with the ceiling fan, and I had an issue with light fixtures. And I was told that, even though they're both electrical, they are not considered electrical, one is considered electrical, and one is considered mechanical. And even though the same person comes out to fix them since there are two different issues, electrical, and mechanical, that I am responsible for two co-payments. So that made no sense to me. The gentleman I spoke to couldn't explain why this is the way it is. The people they send out seem to be knowledgeable, they seem to know what they're doing. Those have been all positive experiences with the people that have come out. It's more just the people on the phone.

I had my first time using it in December on my refrigerator. They ordered the part on December 12th, and I believe it was supposed to be installed on December 29th. I do not have the part yet, and it's January 4th. No one can tell me when it's going to be received to fix my ice maker and my refrigerator. I keep trying to call them to see when they're gonna get my parts in, and it's hard to get to them, and they keep telling me to call someone else.

I liked the work done by the Sears representatives, except for the fact they took two weeks to get the part delivered. However, their work was effective and timely once the part was delivered. On the other hand, the NIL technicians did an excellent job replacing my hot water heater. However, the fee I had to agree to pay was exorbitant and covered parts they did not have to install. This smacks of robbery and I was extremely dissatisfied with it. A fee of $250 would have been high but reasonable. The $590 I had to agree to pay was totally ridiculous.

The last project that I asked for help with you couldn’t find anyone to help us. So I filed a claim and I ended up paying for the parts and then I had to find a contract person to fix the April air. Basically it was just a wire not connected. Before that I had a stove that needed a motherboard which kept being back ordered. I bought a new stove then the part came. Got no help in sending it back. I called all the numbers. To get the correct address. At my expense again I sent it to the last address the part came from. So I do hope that this is not the norm.

It's always at the end of the year that we need to use the warranty. One was plumbing, plumbing seems to be an issue. And the second was the dishwasher, but that was fixed with other problems. They did a good job there.

I feel that Choice Home Warranty is responsive, very quickly to respond to the claim submitted. But then they do not have enough vendors, so eventually, they want the customer to find their own vendor and that process drags on. When I signed up for Choice Home Warranty, I would have expected that they'd have a whole lot of suppliers for plumbing, electrical, etc. But it seems every time I put in a request, it sometimes takes up to 7 days and that defeats the purpose.

They are quick to help service calls but the quality is lacking. After my built-in microwave went out they said they would replace it and I elected to take the cash equivalent which turned out to be a Lowe's gift card for the amount of $191. I was a little surprised at that amount but I accepted it and then I found out it takes up to 30 days to receive it, it's interesting that it takes that long I'm not that impressed so far I'm not too sure if I will be renewing with them this is my first year with them and I have had better warranty companies I might just go with them next year.

Choice has many hidden clauses that go against the customer when service is needed. For example, I had a glass top stove that cracked due to internal burner damage and it was not replaced because Choice does not cover physical damage. Also, the time from claim to getting vendor is too long. Choice is very quick to deny claims even when there is substantial evidence submitted. They do not work with the customer at all nor offer any alternatives.

Really great warranty company. What I have noticed, post COVID, response times for repair are unacceptable - took 3 weeks to repair washer - come out, order parts, repair.... too too long. Otherwise the company itself has been good - I think it's more of a vendor issue.

The Warranty covers most appliances and many repairs, making it fairly comprehensive, affordable, and a good value. There may be delays because the number of contractors who accept warranty work is limited and they must get approval before proceeding with repairs.

The big problem is, you cannot find technicians, especially plumbers who are willing to work for you. We had a plumbing problem in our house, and it was open for a month, because no one would accept your contract because they told me you paid them less than standard, and it took 30 to 60 days to get paid. We ended up having to find somebody ourselves and to do it.

Recently, we had a problem with our dryer, and we put in the request for service. And once the person arrived, they fixed it fairly quickly and life was good. The only drawback was the amount of time it took to get it fixed, about 4 or 5 days.

The vast majority of the time, particularly if it's something like plumbing, it works great. With appliances, it can be a longer time period to get things resolved and if the company chooses to not repair an item that is not repairable, their replacement policy could stand some fine tuning.

Last time I called your group for assistance, they had people out right away. And in this particular instance they couldn't, and they didn't tell me; I had called them back. And then they told me someone will be out tomorrow. The guy came out the next day and did a very good job of replacing the thing that broke. I have no complaints about him, but I was not made aware of the fact that they weren't going to come today because in the past they've always come the same day I called.

The workmanship is good, but the only thing is it takes more days to complete the work. Say, for example, first, one person will come and he will do some suggestion, and then another person will come and he will solve the issue. So that is taking an extra day or a week to complete it.

Initial response was fast- but the plumbing company sent had a very dubious track record. They did complete the work satisfactorily however. It seemed wrong that Choice made me have to interact with the water heater manufacturer when the warranty was void due to the fact that I was not the original purchaser of the heater.

I was rather concerned that the plumber that was referred to me was one with all 1-star ratings. Since I was aware of this individual and chose to have another company recommended, it ended up that I had to find a reputable plumber (I would rate a 10!) to get the ejector pump replaced. I find it hard to believe that a Company would recommend a subpar technician to complete work in my home. In the end, I was happy that I was able to find a reputable plumber, which I will certainly retain in the future if the need arises.

I wish I could leave more stars , unfortunately this repair took much too long. It’s winter in the northeast and I was without heat for a week. Thankfully the temps weren’t to low and one of my other zones was working. Choice had trouble getting someone to do the job because they wouldn’t pay what the contractor needed to do the work.Two contractors later they got a good technician and paid him the price he asked. He did the job quickly and completely. I’m very satisfied with him but disappointed in choice, I feel the job should have been completed a lot sooner.

When you open a new work request, you do t get to select who the work is assigned to, one person wasn't a legitimate contractor, so the process of posting my work request had to start over. The responses you get from CHW are "canned" not personal to you at all, in some cases they don't even pertain to you questions or your responses. ( Just like you're "button" reads Amazing. I don't think this response is Anazing). Once you do get someone to your home, they have to have the work approved and in two instances it took weeks, one issue was my furnace was not working in November and wasn't fixed till December.

Choice Home Warranty's co-pay is the lowest in the home warranty space and their annual contract rate is also extremely competitive. However, as with all things in life, you get what you pay for. This is especially true with home warranty companies. Specifically, it is extremely important that you read the fine print in their warranty contract, because they go by every letter of this contract. And if the language ism't 100% clear, you should assume that the contract will be interpreted in their favor. Also, be advised that replacement of broken items is only covered up to "builder grade" level, meaning that if you have an expensive item that is covered that can't be repaired, the replacement item, or amount reimbursed for the replacement item, will be at the lowest level possible to replace the item (e.g., an expensive chandelier can be replaced by a cheap bulb with a little glass fixture...and that is the replacement cost/item that will be reimbursed). Also, while most of the customer service reps are very friendly, they are sometimes hard to understand as English is not their first language. This can lead to some very frustrating situations where you have to repeat yourself multiple times to get your message across.
