Dryer broke, the part that was sent is not compatible with my dryer. Repair guy left said he wasn't able to reach choice home warranty so I called when he left. Lady on the phone said no problem we will contact repair people to verify the dryer can't be fixed. She said it should only take a few hours. I waited 24 hrs called back, the guy on the phone said the same thing. It has now been a week since I last talked to anybody. I have not received any up dates. I'm about to call again. I'm not sure why it's hard to contact the repair people they sent out.

I was Very disappointed on my claim made for my water heater, which was denied. As per claims representative, tank is not covered. In my opinion, when you advertise the items you cover to make the sale. Is false advertisement, cause the Tank is part of the water heater. Now!! I got stuck with the bill. I will be letting my family members that I had referred, to think twice about renewing their policies as I will be doing as well….

Experience has been mostly good, but had 2 claims that lingered (one still) including going without a water heater for 2.5 weeks this winter then having to pay $400+ instead of the regular service fee to finally have it replaced. Savings have been minimal but they’ve been good with some of the smaller repairs.

If an item needs to be replaced, Choice should cover the full price. Also, if a refrigerator needs to be replaced because it is broken, there should be a more immediate reimbursement process. I have been without a refrigerator for 2 weeks and it has been very expensive to eat and very annoying. I think 30 days to wait for a gift card to get a new refrigerator is ridiculous. Also, it should be a general gift card and not one to a specific store. I found that other stores have better prices than Lowes. This has been a horrible experience.

When I had a/c problems, they did nothing to help but use their "get out of paying clause"(We don't cover anything caused by rust or corrosion). My coils had rust or corrosion so they didn't cover that and I understood but my compressors had not rust or corrosion and the compressor problem was not related to the rust or corrosion on the coils but they kept saying "it's not covered because of rust or corrosion". When my microwave had a problem they offered a Lowe's gift card to replace the microwave rather than repair it. The offer was for about 1/2 of the cost of a new one. I accepted the offer but they said it would take up to 30 days for the electronic gift card to reach me via email. For an electronic gift card coming via email, they should have had it to me within an hour of when I agreed to the offer so I could have taken advantage of the sale price at Lowe's.

My rating is zero. (1) Frequently, incompetent tradesmen: For example, last spring, a plumber took two and a half weeks to show up and completely misdiagnosed the toilet problem, which Choice refused to repair (thank goodness) for a flimsy reason, and then the plumber wanted to charge me over $900 to fix. (I nearly got an ulcer trying to deal with the plumber and Choice customer service during this time. (2) When an item needs to be replaced, Choice offers a fraction of the actual cost, so I always have to file a complaint with the BBB in New Jersey. (3) Choice has the absolutely worst customer service. (4) Worst company on the face of the earth.

The last time I called to get a receipt for the $893+ dollars I had to pay for AC repair your customer service representative hung up on me. He said you do not email receipts. Unless you have changed your policy I have received receipts before. I gave you 2 stars because I had never had a problem before, you to find whatever customer service agent it was and get rid of him as fast as possible.

my most recent experience with Choice leads me to believe that they have forgotten that they are in the customer satisfaction industry. i reported an incident and provided feedback after the job via the survey i was sent and have never had a single response from anyone about the horrible experience. no one has reached out to find what could have been done better, or any constructive criticism. they treat customers as though now that they have the money from the contract, customer service is no longer necessary or even a priority. they expressed that in their handling of the claim. you cannot speak to anyone with any decision making authority when you call the tolll free number. you have to set up a call way out in the future.....and when you do set up the con call, they dont show up and dont even have the decency to email you or let you know why they didnt show up. keep in ind they set up the call. not only that, but they didnt reschedule. i had to call back to reschedule and had to strat the progress from the beginning again....including the two-3 days scheduling delay. they have no integrity. the contractor they sent out indicated their diagnosis, and it got twisted by the Choice Home warranty team. they just wanted to reach the decision that the item was not covered so they could negotiate a "meet me" point instead of claiming responsibility for the equipment failure. a complete waste of money but most importantly, the customer service skilss are non existent and they make the paying customers feel like they are doing us a favor. disgusting

I believe this company is not an honest company. My air conditioner was broken, they sent someone to evaluate the problem. They only performed palliative correction which lasted a month or so. Then we called them again complaining it's still not working. They again someone out again. They knew it was a larger problem and again performed a bandaid solution. You guess it, broke down again, this time asking me to find someone because they were unable to find a contractor. My guy came out and found the Handler was bad and needed replacing. They were only able to cover maybe 1/2 of the cost because they deduct the previous visit cost from the total annual cost allowed for air conditioner repairs. I was able have representation by a local Attorney to represent me because they are not honest with what they represent to their customers! I cancelled my policy with them and signed with American Home Shield. I do not recommend Choice Home Warrenty to anyone!

They suck. They have not been there when I needed them. The quality of service is terrible because they have not helped me. I am currently in the middle of a claim right now. I called my claim in a week and a half ago and have yet to have a contractor come out. They said the contractor would come out this past Monday and they were a no show twice. I had to call Choice and ask them to help me try to get somebody out here to my house and now I'm still currently waiting with no air conditioner and I'm the one who's having to do all the legwork, they have not done anything to help. They don't support their customers. Once the file of the claim over to get a contractor nobody followed up to determine if the contractor is doing what they're supposed to be doing. It just goes into the void until the contractor happens to send something into them or their customer called to complain.

I would rate them a ZERO if I could. I called in my claim on 7/17/2021 for my hot water tank not heating the water. I received a quick response & was immediately assigned a technician. I ended up having to call the technician to remind him to show. He came after 9:00 pm. He claimed the hot water tank needed a new burner & a thermal coupling. I was then informed the parts cost $700.00 & I would be responsible for an additional $200.00 charge above the $60.00 service fee charge. I contacted CHW to inquire about the $200.00 charge. I was informed that the cost of the parts exceeded the $500.00 limit. I disputed the $200.00 charge & George from customer support said he would look into it. Upon rereading my maintenance agreement, it states "Your sole remedy under this agreement is recovery of the cost of the required repair or replacement, whichever is less. You agree that, in no event, will Our liability exceed $1500.00 per contract item for access, diagnosis, repair or replacement." FINALLY, on 8/31/2021, the technician replaced the parts. A week later, still no hot water. CHW rescheduled an appointment for the technician to come out. The technician said he wasn't able to come out then, it would be the following week. We had already gone 3 weeks with no hot water & a newborn in the house. We decided this was unacceptable. We had contacted another technician on our own & the part needed was the censor. We decided to purchase a new hot water tank & had it installed ourselves for a total of under $700.00. If the parts cost $700.00, why didn't CHW just replace the tank to begin with? I then contacted CHW with my complaint & demanded my $200.00 be refunded & I told them to cancel my policy. I spent 2 hours on the phone, spoke with 8 people & got disconnected 3 times. Each time I called I had to start back at square one speaking with customer support. EVERY time I was transferred to the Resolutions Department, I ended up getting disconnected 2 times while speaking with Resolutions & once while being transferred. When I called back later, I was told my $200.00 could not be refunded because I had canceled my policy. Now tell me this company isn't a scam.

calls to Tony, it was always coming in the next day. After I finally calling Tony myself he stated he had to buy from his vendor or he wouldn’t make any money on it. So after cont. to call him always not in yet. You can buy one at Lowe’s for $119. The last call was last Friday stated it would come Saturday. I called him back on Monday. Yes it came in. He said he would put it in on Wednesday between 1-3. Had Simone at the house waiting. After 12pm on Wednesday he texted me stating could he come next week he had an emergency. I told him no I had waited long enough he would have to send someone else. At 5.30 he texted would was the address. S finally came after 6 pm.this was from July 15th to august 18th. I think your co. Tried but had to buy from the vendor. When it came in he was coming yesterday. But at 12.30 texted he had an emergency and could he come the next week. I said no. It had taken over a month and to send someone else and I was calling the company. Than I got a text wanted the address. Someone finally came about 6.30 pm.

Company only want to replace my washer, then it takes over a couple weeks to discuss issue of why the offer was so low to replace. Then we we agree to a payout, we were specifically told we would get a check in the mail. Now this Tuesday I get an email stating that they are sending me a Lowe’s gift card??? I called Choice back on Tuesday to say no I don’t want the gift card because I’m buying my washer elsewhere and I’m told that the gift card was already sent…..sorry we can’t change it????? We NEVER RECEIVED another email with the Lowe’s gift card in it. I searched my trash and junk mail. So I call again and now I’m told “unfortunately we cannot do anything because it was already sent. I reiterated once again that I had called before it was sent and the person I spoke to told me that I would get a call from a supervisor before the 24 hours?? Yeah, I never received a call

The recent claim I submitted was handled very poorly. The case manager was not well informed and did not help me resolve my issue. I had to pay out of pocket for a repair that should have been covered by my policy. It was very clear Choice had no intention of paying the claim and did not allow me to get a second opinion on why the part failed. The initial opinion was wrong and that was verified by a 3rd party who was unaware of any home warranty policy.

I called about leaking from my upstairs bathroom and instead of the problem being fully fixed, it was only partially fixed. When I called about about the leaking that was still going on, I was told I wasn't specific enough and since the problem wasn't fully addressed on the previous visit, it would have to be a new claim and I had to pay another service fee. What a rip off considering I hardly used the warranty I've been paying for over a year. Way to treat your customers.

Several service calls have gone very well, but we have had them tell us items were covered and then were surprised later with a bill. We also had service calls take over a week for an initial exam of our parts needing work, and received minimal help in having services made timely.

American Home Shield was frustrating so I switched to Choice Home Warranty. It was the best option at the time but now I am seriously considering changing services again. I am in the process of a claim right now and I am waiting for the technician to come back for a third time. It has been over a month of them working on it.
