When you need service the customer service is very helpful and professional. Usually I have a Tech at my home within a reasonable amount of time. When they say someone will be to your home, they show up. The most important issue for me is American Home Shield, sends Techs that know how to fix or repair whatever needs service.

I am sticking with American Home Shield. I am also glad that all the providers are trustworthy and insured/bonded. In addition the gentleman who made the repair was very kind to me. I am older, and not everyone listens and reassures me when I ask questions about the things that are important to me. He also told me that the referral covered 30 days, if I needed any further work on the furnace. That was very comforting.

AHS uses companies with little or no experience . Most of the HVAC companies that AHS sends out to homes to repair problems are unprofessional , with minimum experience or interest in finding and correcting the problem. The last three HVAC companies that AHS sent out to repair my HVAC were incompidend and should not be representing AHS . The last two companies sent out to repair washing machine and stove , Sears( A& E) were very good and professional . More work/checking needs to be done by AHS to identify professional repair companies before they are sent out to clients on behalf of AHS

The serviceman had a difficult time trying to diagnose the a/c issue but he stayed with it until he figured it out. The installers were on time and worked really hard for 5 hours to get it installed. They were really nice and respectful of the property.

Sometimes it is challenging to find a great contractor, but I have had good results this year with appliances getting fixed and/or replaced. I've had two replacements and they have worked with me fairly. If you find a good technician, save their info and request them when you need service in the future. I've saved a fortune in the last two years and would not be without AHS.

I was very pleased to have such a quick response for a water leak. It was much faster than normal. Normally we don’t expect anything to be repaired in less than a week because that’s been our experience. This time it was very fast the guy was very professional, and we were only without our sink for the weekend

I love how secure American Home Shield makes me feel. I paid my fee and I know that help will be on the way soon. You have to know the process though. I think people who complain want to compare AHS to self-paying to get a contractor to come. It is not exactly the same. There is a process and it does take some time, but AHS has NEVER let me down.

I gave it a five because they have always been receptive to my calls in an appropriate time for what I was calling for. However, I wouldn't say I like the process when something has to be replaced and I do not think the replacements offered are as good as the one you are replacing. There should be more choices.

Overall, I really like AHS. I have it on two houses and it has been very helpful over the years with only a few irritating issues along the way. Last year I had two issues. One was my air conditioner went out during 100° plus heat wave. I was told that it would be seven days before anyone could come out. I made an appointment and I called back to see if there was another vendor we could try and the gal ended up deleting my request so after seven days I called to find out where the person was and they said that the order was canceled. I had to wait an additional 3 to 4 days for someone to come out and they were able to fix it but I had to buy a window unit and live in my bedroom for 10 days waiting on it. I can’t remember if it was before or after this, but not long, I was told I had to have a pressure reducing valve put on before they would work on any of my plumbing appliances which was an additional almost $500 on top of the $100 fee which I had to pay on both houses in order to just have the toilet looked at. Recently, my hot water tank went out and flooded my basement. I had to wait almost 2 weeks for someone to come look at it only to be told that when they PRV was installed, it caused it now to become a closed system which causes the buildup of pressure to go into the hot water tank, and therefore it was gonna be an additional almost $500 to have an expansion tank and an overflow pipe replaced on a 21 year old hot water tank. I called to complain. Nobody seem to care or had any options for me. I ended up having to go to Lowe’s and use their contractor to pay $1400 to get a new hot water tank installed that came with an expansion tank, this is very frustrating and disappointing and unfair. Especially since I was required to install that extra expensive piece and that is what caused the problem on a Especially since I was required to install that extra expensive piece and that is what caused the problem on an old tank to begin with. I could’ve paid the $500 and then the tank probably would’ve went out shortly after that they don’t usually last that long to begin with. Now I’m concerned if this is going to happen at the other house as well .

I like your service but sometimes I think you repair something that your repair tech states it should be replaced. My Refrigerator has been repaired three to four time over maybe a four-year period. I think it has a part that is going in and out. This is making it hard to service and fix. therefore, I think it is time to replace it.

American Home Shield will get you assigned to someone quickly, which is great. Most of my experiences have been very successful. My last experience however was lackluster and I was told my problem wasn’t covered and referred to someone else to provide me an estimate (whom didn’t show up). The survey for the company assigned by American Home Shield had already been sent and I completed it based on what I was told would happen (which of course didn’t happen). Therefore, I believe the surveys should be sent out a little later to avoid this issue.

Haven’t had really any big problems. The only consistent issue is follow up after service. I’ll get an email from AHS saying my work is completed, even if a part needs to be ordered and installed. I can’t contact the provider, I have to contact AHS and they will set up a time for the provider to return but the provider never seems to know this. But everyone is very nice and polite and seems to try and solve any issues I have.

AHS made it easy to make a claim, All Around appliance was prompt with calling and scheduling a time to come to the house, they were very flexible when I needed to schedule a couple of hours later in the day. What takes the longest is AHS approving the parts and getting them ordered, it’s beyond me why that part should take a week! Once the parts were in again All Around was speedy with the actual repair.

Pros: the cost of my new hvac was covered and the company used was very nice and saved our lives as there was a co2 leak we weren’t even aware of. Cons: it took 2 weeks in the middle of the winter to complete this and the communication was not very good. It was freezing and we had an infant in the home. AHS also did not seem to know what was going on sometimes stating they were missing some papers or parts were arriving on wrong dates. Overall the service was good but wish it would have been more timely due to the cold and having a baby in the home. I would give 5 stars solely for the fact that this service literally saved my life as the co2 leak would have been fatal if it had not been fixed.

I had two good experiences with rekeying my new condo and dryer vent cleaning, but had a bad experience with trying to get my electric washer and dryer installed. The company they assigned didn't call me. When I called them, they said they didn't do that work. When I called AHS, it took me twenty minutes to get someone to reassign this and then they said I would have to be available from 8am-5pm for the service. I asked them to cancel the order and refund my $85 fee. I had to be very direct to get them to do this. I don't understand why someone could not come within a few hours' window to install my appliances.

I have received excellent service on my maintenance request for the HVAC unit. Even repairs that were required after servicing were taken care of seamlessly. My only complaint is that I wrote to the company twice regarding an expensive repair that I paid out of pocket, and I never received any response from the company. Even if the news was to be not in my favor, I was disappointed to not ever receive communication back from AHS.

AHS so far has been very responsive especially when an initial service request is placed. I was a little disappointed how my last request to have a fridge repaired was a little dismissed after I asked for a different contractor due to the break in communication and delay with having a technician come to fix it in a timely manner. The originally contracted technician fixed the fridge and did good work, unfortunately it took a month from the day the request was placed, and food was lost.

This service has been great except when we had to replace a dishwasher that wasn't fixable or to expensive to fix. There was only one option for a replacement dishwasher that was marked out of stock and was not able to be ordered. I had to go a purchase the dishwasher myself and had to pay for additional parts, delivery and installation. All the fees that had to be paid were more than the cost of the dishwasher, so I am not sure that it helped in this case. The other times that we used the plan seemed to work out just fine.

They send local contractors. Most have been good to excellent. Recently, they sent one that caused damage to my house. AHS does not stand behind this, told me to work it out with the contractor, who will not take responsibility. I’m very disappointed to know that AHS sides with the contractor, not the customer, when I have proof they caused damage.

Overall, it’s 4 1/2 stars for providing great coverage. They could improve by contracting with better professionals. Several times I’ve had service calls where the technician said they couldn’t fix the problem. Or they’ve asked us to provide the parts. These are things that I wouldn’t expect with a repair company.

Very impressed with how quickly my furnace was repaired. Long story but the repair could have been under warranty but, as the parts were going to be significantly delayed and the temps were dropping, American Home Shield installed a whole new furnace! To me that is an unparalleled level of customer service.

Jacob Green

Every time I’ve used the service they have always had timely contractors. They have never taken long getting back to me or taken long approving a service. If there has ever been a problem with a contractor they’ve been quick to fix the problem

I love American Home Shield! Ever since a friend of mine told me about them I signed up with them and have been using them for almost 2 years. The only thing I would like American Home Shield to send out letters to customers to let them know when the contract is about to expire. Not every one remembers the expiration date.

AHS service has been great, but the replacement of my microwave by the installation company has not. I first filed a service request on 1/11/23 and on 2/01/23 am still waiting for installation. It is scheduled for 2/03. I hope they do not reschedule again.

I did'nt like when they send contractors they do not have parts on there truck to fix the product and they have to order a part and your machine is down for almost a month when you can go to a local appliance parts store to fix the Item. Thank You for this time.

Quick response by both AHS and City Plumbing. The plumber replaced the part on e it arrived and it worked great for a few days and then it started the same problem again with the thermostat. I called City Plumbing back and gave them the part number, address, etc. and I haven't heard from them again for a couple of weeks. I have to reboot my water heater every two days or so. Please help.
